"A Promise on White Wings" [The Wiccan-Were-Bear Series, Book 7] by R. E. Butler
My Book Summary : Danika is a shifter who doesn't know what she is since she has yet to shift and because she was raised in a bear den that found her wandering around the woods by herself as a toddler. Now years later, while attending the Northern Ohio's full moon celebration and a welcome party with her bear den she unexpectedly meets her mates--Jesuit (Jes) the Prince and leader of the falcon nest & Chance the eldest Prince of the were-lions. Soon she finds out that with her mates help she can shift and is looking forward to her future. That is if the Prince of her bear den didn't already make plans to claim her as his own, and will do whatever means necessary win her back...
My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars--a woman shifter finds out what she was really missing in her life, her true-mates, in doing so she learns more about herself and her future in ways she never would have believed before.
I thought this novel was okay. I liked the plot, Danika's abilities, how everything turns out for her, and the "look into the future" that is offered. However, I wish there was more interaction between Danika, Jes, & Chance then was portrayed. I mean in this novel you do get a feel for their respect and love for one another but I wish there was more banter between them. It all felt a bit rushed.
I recommend this novel to anyone who, like me, is a fan of the author and this series!

Book Teaser(s) :
Jesuit picked up Danika, and when his arm brushed against her upper back, she went rigid in his arms and bit back a scream of pure agony. Her vision blurred and she closed her eyes, feeling as if she might throw up. She opened her eyes when Jesuit laid her on her side on the bed in the guest tent and gently rolled her to her stomach.
Chance knelt on the bed next to her and smoothed her hair from her face. “Tell us what hurts, katja.”
“My back,” she spoke through gritted teeth.
Elizabeth said, “Ash, go get Shaylee.”
Jesuit stood next to the bed, one of his hands hand held hers, and he planted the other on his hip. “Elizabeth, it’s nice to see you again.”
“You, too, Jes.”
“Would you mind finding my men and getting them here? One of the bears from her den tried to hurt her, and I want him found immediately.”
Axe growled. “I’ll get them.”
Danika’s head turned slowly to the side and she peered up at Jesuit. He looked down at her and smiled when she squeezed his hand. “What can I get you, little bird?”
“A new back,” she offered as a small attempt at humor. Aside from the pain in her back, she felt as if something monumental was happening between the three of them and she was too out of it to know what it was.
Chance squeezed her other hand. “It’ll be okay, katja. We’ve got you.”
Had she ever felt so immediately cared for and accepted? Not since Mama. She squeezed both of their hands and offered them a watery thank you, and then closed her eyes, waiting for whoever Shaylee was to come and help. ~ within Chapter 3

“You’re not even with your new mate for a whole day and already you’re taking on responsibility,” Pyre teased. “I’m glad to see she’s having such a positive influence on you.”
Chance told them that it was Jes’ idea. “And you’ll have to call me Sire when we’re in public, too,” he warned them.
“Oh shit, man,” Gamble groaned, “I will not bow to you, big brother, so cast the thought far from your mind.”
Prye said, “Maybe being related to the future King will get you a way in with the pretty falcon females we’ve seen in the territory.”
Gam’s eyes lit up. “I hadn’t thought of that.” He paused and bowed at the waist with a dramatic flare. “Your majesty.”
Chance’s cheeks flamed in embarrassment, and he shoved his brother’s shoulder. “I feel sorry for any woman who’s foolish enough to take you to bed, Gam.”
“Foolish yes, but also very, very lucky.”
If what Jes thought was true – about falcons and lions sharing a mate – then he felt sorry for whoever was unlucky enough to be saddled with his playboy brother. Thinking on Danika, he sped up his stride so he could see the homes and then get back to the house to her. ~ within Chapter 8
