"Along Came Mr. Right" by Gerri Russell

Author's Book Description : Olivia Tyler loves helping foster children find their forever homes, but she’s still waiting for her forever love. Ever since her ex-boyfriend humiliated her on Facebook, she hasn’t been ready for a commitment. But on the night of the charity auction for her adoption agency, she gives in to temptation with a stranger who helps her out of a jam…and out of her bright-blue stilettos.

After the most mind-blowing romantic night of her life, everything about Max Right seems perfect: he’s handsome, chivalrous, and he’s about to launch an algorithm-based matchmaking app with an extraordinary success rate. But when Olivia finds out her mystery man is also someone else’s fiancé, no matter how much they seem to click, this romance doesn’t add up. For Olivia, unavailable means incompatible.

When a troubled teen comes to both of them for help, Olivia is willing to put their differences aside temporarily. But as the three spend time together, she discovers the truth about Max’s heart, and it just may be the key to opening her own.

My Book Review : 2 out of 5 stars. I really had hoped to love this novel since its book description was very intriguing. However, I struggled from the very beginning. I found myself bored with the first few chapters and didn’t really get into the plot until I was well into Chapter 13. Then for the characters it was just so hard to like them, I understand they did and acted the way they did because of everything that happened to them. In addition, I know that Max was/is a good man (he would have to be to have put up with everything he does) yet he is such an IDIOT to get duped into everything that he did, and it was unrealistic to see Olivia disregarding all of her hurts so quickly with him. Then while I was happy, about the ending in some ways it mostly fell flat to me because, yes, the people who have an “epiphany” at the end should but it doesn’t come off as being natural to me.

My favorite characters were Paige (I loved her personal plot and how she changed her life) and Olivia (she was such a nice woman hoping to do the right thing for everyone and I LOVED her organization).

Overall, I don’t recommend this novel, but if you’re still interested, I’d recommend it for those looking for a slightly erotic contemporary romance.

So far she knew he was gentle, helpful, handsome, and smart. The only strike against him was terrible pickup lines. And those she could forgive if he was as nervous about their being together as she was. ~ within Chapter 3
