Life don't go quite like you planned it, We try so hard to understand it ...

"Please give my friend a job. Please." - Miss Sherridan Smith, best friend

"Playing With Fire" [part of the 'Tales of an Extraordinary Girl' series] by Gena Showalter takes on another version of someone who has the ability to control the elements ... in this case those would be fire, wind, water, and earth .... and the person would be Belle. However, Belle didn't get these powers on her own .... a scientist had actually slipped the formula into her drink, without her knowledge, and it changed her into getting them. Now she has these powers .... one hot man and a whole lot of killers after her to get their hands on her and the formula in the process. It doesn't help that the scientist took off without letting her know what was happening to her and now she needs to find him to possibly get an antidote. But will she be able to find the scientist before her killers find her??

3 out of 5 stars. Belle is a cute character ... fierce and kind. You definitely root for her. And I like this new take on these types of powers ... since the only other character I've read so far with them has been Zoey from the "House of Night series" by P. C. Cast & Kristin Cast ... however ... Gena put's her own twist to them as you soon find out that Belle's powers work mostly with her emotions .... and with that the possibilities are endless. *hahaa*

"If you're looking for trouble, Belle is the girl for you. P.S. - Hurt her and I'll kill you." - Mr. Rome Masters, aka "Cat Man"

Three little birds, Pitch by my doorstep, Singin' sweet songs, Of melodies pure and true

"The Next Best Thing" by Kristan Higgins is sweet ... heartwarming ... and also a major tear-jerker! Lucy lost the love of her life, 5 and a half years ago, to a car accident. Still living with the great sense of loss .... she finally decides that she would still like to have a family of her own. But she wants someone who isn’t perfect, meaning: a nice man, not-to-handsome, would make a good father, and most importantly someone who won’t make her give her whole heart to him. As she’s already dealt with as much pain as she thinks she can deal with ... she doesn’t want to go through that loss again. This means she’s going to have to give up Ethan, her dead husband’s younger brother, who’s her friend-with-benefits. However, Ethan won’t be pushed aside so easily ...

3.5 out of 5 stars. I meant what I said ... it's heartwarming and a very sweet book about how love can heal the soul. Yet I didn't completely expect to be crying so much while reading it. =0P

Sometimes i'm an angel, And sometimes i'm cruel, And when it comes to love ... I'm just another fool

Susan Elizabeth Phillips shines with her new novel "What I Did for Love"!! Basically you have two ex-co-star enemies ... one drunken night in Vegas ... a bunch of Hollywood gossip .... and you get a relationship that turns out for the better if only each can get over there own pasts .... and their friends and colleagues around them don't make it worse. Find out what Bram & Gracie do for love!

4 out of 5 stars!! This is one of my now faves of Susan's ... especially since she put so many of her characters from previous books into it! So ... if you've read her "Glitter Baby" and/or "Natural Born Charmer" then you'll get to read about some familiar characters again. =0) However, even though I am a fan of epilogues as I have mentioned in the past, the epilogue that she has is a little too lovey dovey to be realistic ... but oh wells I guess. =0P

It's all about the way you do the things you do

For some reason when I meet someone for the first time, I feel compelled to tell them this. “Hi, my name is Sadie Price. Yeah, great to meet you, too! People hate me.”

Taking the phrase 'The grass is always greener on the other side' to a whole new level "Accidental It Girl" by Libby Street [aka Sarah Bushweller and Emily S. Morris] deals with celebrity status and paparazzi. Sadie is a celebrity photographer who thinks that if she doesn't chase after her "targets" (the celebs) then she's can't be "one of those" types ... and she likes what she does. While celebrity Ethan Wyatt hates that the photographers follow him constantly .... so much so that after he arrives in the New Jersey airport (because he is planning on moving to New York) and meets Sadie ... then encounters her a few more times .. he makes a plan to get her back with her own medicine. Now with rumors spread to the nation about this new mysterious girl .... will Sadie be able to stand the pressure? Or will Ethan's plans backfire?

3.5 out of 5 stars!! The book started out VERY slow .... if I didn't pay for it then I might have stopped there but thankfully after finishing a quarter of the book ... it picked up and became really funny!! The story is mixed in with it's own tabloid feel to it. Definitely cute.

If I’m asking you to hold me tight - then it’s gonna be all right

Witty & Hilarious .. "Playing James" by Sarah Mason is everything I could hope for and more!! Holly is a up-and-coming reporter, who just got her big break! James is a cop, who takes his line of work very seriously .... hates reporters ... and is about to get married in 6 weeks time .... and just got assigned Holly to play his shadow up until the day he says "I do." Tempers start flying ... situations get misread ... and when Holly's column becomes a big hit the readers start questioning if there's more between the reporter and the detective then they both are letting on??

5 out of 5 stars!! LOVED IT!! It's up beat! Fast paced! With plenty of twists thrown in just to make you second guess how you think the story will end! =0)
