"Lovestruck in London" by Rachel Schurig

My Book Summary : Elizabeth (Lizzie) is the youngest of six children in a very close nit family. Growing up she's always felt a bit out of place compared to everyone else she knew and it doesn't help that her family has high expectations for her to become just like them, graduating from college then getting a stable job--as a school teacher--and possibly settling down soon by getting married. However, after graduating from college she is still not ready to settle down, so when she hears about an additional courses she can take for nine months in London she convinces her best friend to join her and off they go for knew adventures.

Within the first week of living in London, Lizzie meets Thomas, an up-and-coming movie star, and they have an instant attraction between them that is undeniable. Quickly they become an item and start dealing with the reality of trying to spend time together while doing school work and managing an up-and-coming acting career with all of the perks and nightmarish things that come along with it.

Over time, their relationship gets stronger and they fall into a wonderful routine for themselves. Nevertheless, they knew at the beginning, that their relationship was going to have to deal with a major separation at some point. When that time comes, will they be able to make it through their separation or will they be able to find a better solution for everyone?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars!! This sweet, enthralling, fun novel lets you enjoy the historical aspects of England, while capturing you in an intense romance involving its main characters. I really wish I could be Lizzie. She was a spunky character when she wanted to be, while staying very down-to-earth. Plus, it helped that Thomas was charmer that I could not get enough of, he captured me from the beginning. Together they evened each other out, especially when it felt like the world kept trying to pull them apart.

It also helped that Thomas' friends and Lizzie's best friend, Callie, were an entertaining group too. They made the novel light and fun during the times when Lizzie kept wanting to be depressing, while being great characters in their own right.

I only wish that Lizzie dealt with her situation at the end of the novel better then she did. Then after Lizzie did smarten up, I wish there was an epilogue or something to see how Lizzie and Thomas were doing not long after the ending. =0/

Nevertheless, I do recommend this novel to anyone who likes the New Adult romance genre and/or romances dealing with movie stars.

"He's been, uh, talking about me?" I asked, feeling my heart rate start to increase.
"Oh God, yeah," Sarra went on, oblivious to Meghan's death stares in the mirror. "Sunday brunch, all we heard about was your date on Saturday. When we saw him Wednesday night at trivia, it was even worse. And I must have at least gotten four texts from him about this evening, warning me to be nice and not make you feel uncomfortable."
"Texts which you clearly took to heart," Meghan said drily. "Way to embarrass her." ~ within Chapter 8
There was plenty of wine, the food smelled amazing, and everyone seemed happy and excited. I couldn't have asked for a better Thanksgiving.
"Hang on!" Thomas cried, before I started to fill my plate. "You haven't seen my special dish."
Sarra crossed her arms. "He's been talking about this secret dish all day. Meghan made an entire turkey! Have some perspective."
He stuck out his tongue at her as he turned to run back to the kitchen. "Do you know what this is?" I asked Meghan, but she only smiled at me.
He returned a moment later, carrying a covered casserole dish. Grinning at me, he pulled off the lid to reveal a layer of tamales, my very favorite food.
I stared at him. "What...what is this?"
"I may have emailed your cousin," he said. "To ask her what your favorite Thanksgiving food was. She said your family always had tamales, in addition to the traditional stuff. She even sent me your mum's recipe. It might not taste quite as good as hers, but I wanted you to have a taste of home today."
I couldn't believe he had gone to so much trouble. It was my turn to get teary.
"Can you guys be sappy some other time?" Charlie called out. "I'm starving."
"Wait!" Callie said. "We haven't said what we're thankful for yet. It's tradition! Everyone has to go around and say what they're giving thanks for this year."
Charlie grumbled about cruel and unusual punishment, but, under a glare from Callie, he dutifully said he was thankful for how many photos he'd sold lately. ~ within Chapter 15

"Stone Guardian" [Entwined Realms Series, Book 1] by Danielle Monsch

My Book Summary : Twenty-six years ago, our world (aka the Human Realm) collided with another world (aka the Magic Realm), which is now known as the Great Collision where tales of myth and legend unwittingly came into our world and somehow settled in. On that same day, Larissa was born.

Since then everyone/every "thing" has tried to be as civil as they can get. However, like all good races/colonies they try to stay involved into their own agendas instead of getting mix into everybody else's issues.

Or at least that is what Larissa's father led her to believe for a majority of her life...

However, when The Oracle brings Terak--the Leader of the Gargoyles--into her life it is not only turned upside down it feels like it's been thrown off course. Will she be up for the challenges that are soon to face her? Or will her life be torn apart for good?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars, this intensely suspenseful romance will keep you on your toes while it keeps you hoping for more. I enjoyed reading about how these two worlds came together and how some of the "typical" creatures that you read about in other books have other nuances in this one that you wouldn't expect but were intriguing to learn. It definitely makes me curious as to see where this series will go, especially with the unusual cast of characters that you already find in this first novel.

Larissa and Terak are quite a pair, from their immediate chemistry to dealing with each other's differences. I really liked them together!! Even though Larissa has "no power," she has the ability to stick up for who she believes is truly good and does her best to stand up to those who are against her in any way (even if they are stronger or have other powers). Plus, I liked her sassiness! While Terak appears to be very stoic and determined, I enjoyed how he grew--because of Larissa--throughout this novel.

I recommend this novel and series to anyone who enjoys suspenseful paranormal romance!

Book Teaser(s) :
The last two weeks were the most disturbing of her life, and yes, she was including the week when she first got her period. She had been attacked by zombies, kidnapped by a gargoyle, found out her best friend had some sort of secret life amongst the new races, had a brother who was acting suspicious, and a father who was still upset at her for asking questions about the security of the city.
And she had a gargoyle protector she was starting to care about, maybe even like.
Out of all the above, that last one kicked her hardest in her solar plexus.
He had wings. And a tail. A tail.
How the hell did this happen? Stockholm syndrome? Some power dynamic because she was the helpless little woman and he was the big, powerful gargoyle?
No, it was because of his chest. No male should have a chest like that, and he never wore a shirt. Never, like they offended him or something. Maybe she should be grateful that at least he wore pants.
No, she shouldn't be.
Yes, she should.
Well... ~ within Chapter 10

"Love Overdue" by Pamela Morsi

My Book Summary : Three people find new ways to change their lives...

Eight years ago while on spring break in South Padre ...

... Scott was out to prove to himself that he was a capable lover. There he meets a girl he remembers as "Sparkle" and it shakes up his world. However, after she takes off the next morning he leaves that place, goes back to his girlfriend, and the life he has planned for himself.

... Dorothy (D. J./Sparkle) was out to have one wild night as a way to break out of her "shell" for a little while, also so she could celebrate her 21st birthday with her girlfriends. There she meets a hot guy (Scott) however she never asks for any personal information from him. Even though she's nervous, she feels safe with him while he makes her feel alive in ways that she never expected to feel. Nevertheless, once morning comes, she escapes his room with erotic memories for her to remember but because she thinks he is a player, she didn't want any more then one night.

Recently ...

... Vivian (Viv) has lost her will to live ever since her husband and best friend died a little over a year ago. Therefore, before she does anything "drastic," she makes plans to make sure her son (Scott) is settled and happy--preferably with the new librarian (D. J.) she personally chosen for him and who recently moved into their small Kansas town....

... When D. J. realizes that a small town in Kansas is offering her the position to be their librarian after they only looked over her LinkedIn profile, she immediately accepts the offer and moves to her new home. Only to find her new home (and where she hopes to settle down in for a long while) happens to be full of gossips and her new land lady seems set on setting her up with handsome son who just happens to be the hot guy she met in South Padre all those years ago...

Will Viv get her wish so she can move on with her plans? Will D. J. be able to settle into town with little complications or will her past get the better of her? Will Scott recognize that D. J. is his Sparkle?

Stay tuned to find out!!

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! This endearing and funny novel keeps your attention rapt as you follow three people who all mean well when it comes to wanting to do what is best for everyone else but when it comes to doing what is right for themselves it takes a few blunders to get everything as it should be. I loved the town they all lived in, it was full of characters that keeps the novel light and fun while dealing with some very serious plot lines.

D. J. was a bit overly serious. Yet, I liked how she lightened up--especially in her clothing choices--as she got more excited with the changes she was doing to the library. However, Scott and her together seemed to light up the pages when they thought about their shared pasts and what was going on between them currently. I could not get enough of this one electric duo!

I just wish some of the plot lines were completed instead of how they were left hanging the way they were. I mean I like the way the novel goes into talking about the future--the "epilogue"--but I just wish I knew what happened between the two of them immediately after Scott found out. Also, along with a few other things, I wonder if Amelia and Eileen ever gave D. J. more problems.

Anyway...

Overall, I LOVED this novel! I recommend it to anyone who likes cute, kind of suspenseful, contemporary romances!

"So, did you meet the new librarian?"
Amos nodded and took a sip of coffee before answering. "I did. She's young. Late twenties, I'd guess, but she dresses older. Kind of going for that old maid look."
"I don't think we're suppose to say 'old maid' anymore," Scott pointed out. "The PC term is single working woman."
"She's definitely that. Stuffy business suit, gray on gray with her hair pulled back into a little bun like somebody's grandmother."
"Not my grandma," Scott said. "She always dressed in canary yellow."
"And your mother dresses in purple. I think it runs in the family."
Scott nodded acceptance. "That's why my dad and I have always worn white. So we won't clash with our womenfolk."
"Well, nobody is in danger of clashing with the new librarian. She dresses like a little sparrow. I guess she thinks she has to."
"Well, she's probably smart to, anyway," Scott said. "Remember Old Man Paske is on the library committee. That ancient reprobate would grope a bass fiddle."
Amos nodded. "Makes you wonder how often he's tried to pinch Amelia Grundler's fanny."
"Good God, Amos, are you trying to ruin my day, putting an image like that in my head."
He agreed. "It surely is more horror movie than porn flick."
Scott chuckled. ~ within a chapter titled '102. Miscellany of Philosophy'
So much for the well-behaved, professional librarian.
She realized that Scott was attempting to regain his composure. She determined to do the same.
"He didn't see anything," Scott repeated. "I'm sure he didn't see anything."
"No," D. J. agreed. "There was nothing really to see. It was a kiss, nothing more."
"Right."
A buzzing sound erupted in Scott's pocket. He dug out his cell phone.
"It's a text from Amos."
D. J. met his eyes before he held it out for her to read.
Get a room!
D. J. stared at the words on the phone for a long moment, her brain racing with a million things to say or to do. Finally, unexpectedly, a small giggle bubbled up from inside her and she laughed.
After a few shocked seconds, Scott did, too. ~ within a chapter titled '642.2 Meals and Table Service'

To her amazement, his expression became slightly embarrassed. “I think I said it because I was nervous.”
“You?”

“My people are wrong,” she said, then added in a rush of words, “You are a man of honor and courage, a warrior. Yet you aren’t afraid to show tenderness to your mate in her bedchamber.”
She was amused and touched to see color rise in his dark cheeks. Reaching for his hand, she placed it over the spot where her heart beat in her chest. “You are a man to claim a woman’s heart.”

Made the Grade: The Necklace Chronicles, Book 2

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 209 KB | Release Date: September 15, 2012 | Publisher: Self-Published | Obtained: Smashwords

"The Gigolo’s Bride" [The Necklace Chronicles, Book 2] by R. E. Butler

My Book Summary : When Eden was young (and just reached maturity), his parents sold him as a sex slave to pay off their debts. Years later he feels beaten down and like his life can never get better so he tries to take his own life, only to be saved by a friend and fellow sex slave. In hopes of turning his life around, Eden's sister pays for him to be able to find his soul mate, who happens to live on Earth and named Ashleigh.

Five years later, Eden has saved enough money to pay off his debt at the brothel to become free and pay the money to be able to "pick up" Ashleigh from Earth so they could be together....

Ashleigh likes her life, well her job as a nursery school teacher and her friends at least. However, she is very intrigued by a necklace and flowers that arrive for her by a secret admirer (aka Eden). Then soon finds her life being turned upside-down not long after receiving the gifts when she becomes kidnapped and informed she can never return to Earth.

Now Eden has a little over two months to try to win Ashleigh's heart for good, with hopes that she'll never find out about his past...

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars, two caring hearts meet under harsh circumstances and decide if being with each other is something that they're willing to go the long haul for or not. I liked Eden & Ashleigh together they suited each other well. At least once Ashleigh got over her own personal issues about being kidnapped and never being able to go back to Earth again. In truth for most of this novel, I really didn't like Ashleigh, and only because I knew how sweet Eden was and I didn't like how she treats him for most of this novel. Nevertheless, once everything is on the table I do like how Ashleigh steps up to the plate so-to-speak when it comes to her true feelings for Eden and wanting to help him out no matter the costs.

In addition---and I mean this in regards to Eden & Ashleigh's friends at the end of the novel---I just wish this it didn't lead you up to another sort of plot only to fall short in the end. It was somewhat disappointing, unless Ms. Butler was going to write a novel about them...

Anyways. Overall, I liked this novel and recommend it to anyone who enjoys sci-fi abduction romances!

The only difference is that you didn't ask to be taken, and I understand your anger at the situation, but I only want you to be happy. "The Runaway Roommate" [Kdrama Chronicles, Book 1] by C. S. Mae

My Book Summary : Over a year ago, Casey's life completely changed when her boyfriend at the time left her and their apartment with just a note saying he was moving and it was over between them. Since then she has come to realize that her life wasn't as grand as it seemed before her ex left her, yet she still finds she hasn't completely recovered from that devastation. Recently, her latest roommate (who is also one of her best friends) decided to move out, so Casey is currently looking for a new roommate.

A co-worker tells her about his cousin, David, who would be a great roommate for her and he's right. David is smart, funny, sweet, and one hot half-Korean hottie! From one big change to the next Casey's life is looking more and more like her favorite Kdramas. What will happen next?

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! This exciting, hilarious, and sweet novel keeps you on your toes while you follow Casey throughout the antics she gets into! David and Casey were similar in so many ways that it was easy to want to root for them to finally get together.

I really liked David and how he handled everything Casey through at him, even though I am curious as to what really happened between him and his own "ex." Plus, I loved his mother and Casey's friends; they were all funny in there own unique ways. It'll be interesting to see what happens to this group next.

"Say Yes" by Lyla Luray

Author's Book Description : Julie believes in chastity — that’s why she’s getting married at the tender age of nineteen. But when she tries on her dream wedding dress for her stepfather Larry, Julie realizes there are other things she wants for her life, her body and her heart!

"SAY YES" is a 10,000 word erotic romance story about an unconventional love and passion between two unlikely people.

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars! As the author states it's definitely an "erotic romance story about an unconventional love and passion between two unlikely people." One that I could not put down and enjoyed reading immensely even though it was so short. I liked how the plot didn't really deal with any adultery, just an unusual match up and seems to lead to more.

I didn't like what I thought to be Julie's babyish talk but she is nineteen so I guess that's understandable in some instances. Also, I'm curious how they'll deal with the new setup in their lives because he's a Senator and this really wouldn't look good for him publicly.

Yet it you over look all of that it's an intense erotic romance about a older man and young woman showing their love to each other in a whole new way.

I recommend this short story to anyone who likes hot, steamy, erotic romances, especially ones dealing with unusual circumstances.

Feasted On: The Wolvers Series, Book 3

"The Alpha's Daughter" [The Wolvers Series, Book 3] by Jacqueline Rhoades

My Book Summary : Jasmine (Jazz/Hellcat) is a wolver (like a werewolf only slightly different) who is more important then most because she is an Alpha's daughter. However, that title brings it's own set of complications especially when her father (who never wanted anything to do with her before) takes a special interest in finding a mate of his choosing for her. Therefore, Jazz makes a pact with herself, she will never mate with an Alpha male, and makes plans to escape her pack.

While on her way to what she hopes will be a better future and her new pack, she makes a stop in Gilead--a small town with a nice werewolf pack living in it--to rest for the night and talk to Doc Goodman (Griz/Grizzly/Papa Bear)--a wolver and the towns Doctor--to find out about where she's going. Yet, not long after getting into town she gets into a fight, finds that her motorcycle and money were stolen, and finds that Doc is a very growly, stern wolver who she now needs to seek shelter with.

Soon Griz and Jazz's relationship goes from nonexistent to scorching but their pasts keep trying to keep them apart. Will they be able overcome the outside forces trying to separate them or will their pasts achieve their goal?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! Griz and Jazz push each other's buttons throughout this novel, while slowly learning to respect each other and fall for each other, but will other wolvers from surrounding packs and their pasts be okay with their knew found love?

I enjoyed this novel from the very beginning! It is fast-paced, witty, funny, and steamy. The twists and turns throughout were at times expected but it didn't make me like this novel any less, if anything, it made me enjoy it even more! Jazz is a can do type of girl who won't put up with anything that doesn't stand by her own moral code, but as she learns during her time living in Gilead the person she always thought and appeared to be isn't who she truly is and she enjoys who she turns out to be. Griz is dealing with his own personal heartache that happened a few years before Jazz gets into town. Jazz helps Griz, unknowingly, to overcome his past and be willing to accept his future, especially if Jazz agrees to be apart of it.

I recommend this novel to anyone who likes new takes on "werewolf" paranormal dramatic romances!

The grizzly bear eyed the table and its contents with a jaundiced eye. He only said one word. "No."
Jazz had a word of her own "Yes."
He folded his arms across his chest. "No."
She folded her arms across her chest. "Yes." She noted that he didn't walk away. She smiled inwardly and continued, "It has to be done, Griz. You frighten small children."
"I do not frighten children."
"You do! There were six of them in the clinic today and four were wolver. They may not be ready to go over the moon, but the wolf is in them and its instincts are screaming, "Run! Grizzly Bear!" She flapped her hands and ran in place in a parody of fear and then stopped. "The human kids were just scared shitless."
He didn't budge. "You're exaggerating. They were not scared shitless."
"Then what was that big brown spot on the back of Nicky Cominski's pants? And he stank to high heaven!" Jazz put her hands on her hips. "You can look as big and growly as you want to keep away as many adults as you want. I don't care, but I draw the line at the little guys. They should not have nightmares about going to the doctor's. You could damage them for life!"
She knew damn well that Nicky's mother brought him in because of his diarrhea, but it suited her case. Jazz tried not to laugh. It sputtered out between her lips anyway.
"Aw, come on, Griz. Nicky Cominski aside, you do look a little scary in an insane kind of way. It's time to mow away the overgrowth and let the real you shine through." ~ within Chapter 13
Griz laughed and ruffled her hair. "I realize, Hellcat, that you're a kick-down-the-door-and-shoot-whatever-moves kind of woman, but I prefer to knock softly and see if they'll come quietly. Saves money on doors and bullets."
"Smartass."
He did have a point. Without any real antagonism, he quietly made them all row in the same direction. It was another moment before she said, "I suppose you're right."
Griz stopped and cocked his head. "Did you feel that?" he asked.
"What?" She stopped and waited to feel whatever it was Griz had felt.
He stooped down and felt the ground with his hand. "Yep, Hell just froze over."
Jazz pushed him onto his ass. She heard him laughing behind her as she marched off home. ~ within Chapter 28

Feasted On: The Sultan's Bride by Ariadne Wayne

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 345 KB | Release Date: February 3, 2013 | Publisher: Northnet Limited | Obtained: Smashwords

"The Sultan's Bride" by Ariadne Wayne

My Book Summary : This novel follows the life of Catherine from her birth to her early 20's. It shows how she was a delight to her parents as a little girl then on a family "trip" to the middle east how she was kidnapped and brought to a Sultan to be his son's playmate and her life completely changed...

Within a few years, once she matured and turned 18-years-old, the Sultan decided to turn her into one of his many wives and bring her his harem. At first, Catherine is resistant but soon she accepts her new life and the Sultan, even though she still sneaks to have a monthly rendezvous with the Sultan's son--Arif--as he was her childhood love. Almost a year later, she finds some happy and terrifying news; from then on, her life drastically changes from one extreme to the next. Will she be able to handle all of the changes without getting her heart broken or is there a new love right around the corner?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars, a girl finds herself living in a Sultan's palace in a world completely different then the one she grew up in and over the years in living there she makes many friends and a few loves. However, has she already met her true love or is he still in her future?

About the Characters:
• Catherine: Born in England, only child of loving parents. Goes on a trip to the Middle East with her family when she's eight and by the end she is kidnapped by a Sultan her family met. Becomes a best friend and falls into a childhood love with the Sultan's only son, Arif. On her 18th Birthday the Sultan informs her that she'll become his wife and apart of the harem. She takes it all in stride and becomes one of the Sultan's most precious wives. Takes Arif as a lover even though she's married. When she's about 20-years-old her life changes again by something unexpected and being returned to England where she falls in love again.

• Peter: Catherine's father, who loves his wife and daughter more than anything. Wants to provide more for his family then he already is, so he takes a trip to the middle east (with them) to find better things to trade in England.

• Sarah: Catherine's mother, who loves her daughter more than anything and appreciates Peter (her husband) for everything he's done for them. Isn't happy about the trip. While on the trip she meets Omar who entices her more then anyone she's ever met.

• The Sultan: An arrogant, attractive, charming man (when he wants to be), and manipulative. Liked Catherine when she was a little girl and once she matured, he was intrigued with her enough to marry her. Cared for Catherine in his own way. Has a harem. Doesn't appreciate his Sultana--Irina--anymore. Arif's father.

• Irina: The Sultana, the Sultan's first wife. Arif's mother. After Catherine is kidnapped and comes to live with them, she takes her under her wing and protects her as much as she can.

• Arif: Spoiled. The never-ending child. Handsome. Believes he loves Catherine, and is going to make her his Sultana one day.

• Omar: Works for the Sultan. Falls for Sarah not long after meeting her. Makes a vow to protect Catherine after she is taken back to the palace. Finds a way to get Catherine back to England.

• Richard: Meets Catherine once back in England and instantly falls in love with her.

Book Teaser(s) :
When Arif began to act strange around her, Catherine couldn’t guess why and decided to ask him about it. ‘Why are you behaving differently around me now?’ she asked one day as they sat in the garden, hidden from view of anyone else. It was their favourite spot to get some time alone even as children but now being alone with Arif was different.
‘You are nearly a woman,’ he said, ‘Soon you will be my wife and I will be able to bed you.’ She flushed with colour. ‘You are very beautiful,’ he continued, ‘I would like very much to kiss you.’
Catherine nodded. Arif was growing into a most handsome young man as well as being her best friend. Over the last few years he had also caught up to her in height and now was a head taller than her. He leaned over and softly, gently touched his lips to hers. It only lasted a few seconds but when he pulled away from her his cheeks were flushed too and his eyes were wide. She giggled. ‘I liked it too,’ she said and he leaned in for another.
It did not take much longer for the Sultan to notice too. ‘You’re looking lovely today,’ he would say to her whenever he saw her and watch for the blush to spread across her white skin, grinning at the affect he could have on a teenage girl.
He would laugh to himself, she was far too young for him to be interested in but as the years passed his attentions became more focussed and she would catch him sometimes gazing at her, his eyes roaming her body that made her as uncomfortable as she was
flattered. ~ within Chapter 9
He looked at her. ‘You are thinking that I am behaving oddly are you not?’ he asked.
She nodded. ‘I have not seen you so quiet and introspective.’
Laughing he kissed her again. ‘You know me to be authoritative and demanding, I know what I am. I also know that the women who come to my bed are not always willing bed partners as you were not the first night we were together, you had no choice.’
She said nothing, so he continued. ‘When you came to my bed the night Alena was here for the first time I felt your sincerity at wanting to be there. It made me love you all the more. For the first time in my life Catherine, I feel like I’m in love.’ ~ within Chapter 18

"The Switched Baby Scandal" [Scandals of San Sebastian Series, Book 1] [Previously published as "The Baby Mistake"] by Theresa Meyers

My Book Summary : Five years ago, Taylor gave birth to her little girl, Emily, now she is in the middle of a court battle to prove that Emily's father should pay for child support even though he doesn't want anything to do with the girl. To prove her case she pays for a DNA test and gets the shock of her life .... Emily isn't her ex's child ... and she isn't her daughter either!!!

Therefore, to find out what actually happened Taylor goes to the hospital where Emily was born to find out her life keeps going from bad to worse. Not only did her daughter get switched while in the hospital after her birth, her birth daughter died in a car accident over a year ago, and now Emily's birth father--Reece--wants to be apart of Emily's life by any means possible ... even if it means filing for joint custody.

Will Reece and Taylor be able to find a way to make it work out between them all? Can they become an unconventional family and make it work out for them all, especially with the added stress and interference of the media circling them like vultures.

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! An unconventional family comes together during unusual circumstances but together they make it all work. I liked how Taylor and Reece put Emily's needs above all else throughout this novel and how Reece went about dealing with his past grief. Also, I found that Reece and Taylor's electrifying passion that turns into a sweet relationship was well thought out and well written. They made quite a pair and Emily was a sweet little "pistol" that kept her parents in line.

I recommend this novel to those who like contemporary romances!

- On a side note -
I'm curious as to how Reece's family and Rebecca's (Reece's dead wife) family took the news about Emily and Taylor ... then Reece and Taylor getting together, since we hear about Taylor's family but not the other ones.

Book Teaser(s) :
Taylor felt the reporters pressing in closer, but she couldn’t move, her muscles rigid and refusing to cooperate. It was getting hard to breathe as the crush moved in, and her vision faded to black at the edges.
Behind her the door opened. A light touch at her back sent electric sparks shooting down her spine. Without even looking, she knew it was Reece. She could smell his cologne and feel the warmth of him close to her.
He bent his head so his breath was warm at her ear and said in a low voice, “Just start moving through them. You don’t have to say anything. We’ll head for the elevator. I’m right here with you.”
His presence launched a war of sensation within her. She wanted to withdraw, but her knees were softening like warm wax. She wanted to shut him out, but at the moment he was the salvation she needed to cling to in this awkward situation. He was both enemy and white knight, and she couldn’t process it. ~ within Chapter 7
“I think we’re going out for brunch.”
“I’ll second that.”
“I three it!” chirped Emily.
Reece threw the blackened towel in the sink. “Where shall we go?”
“Pancake House!” Emily sang.
Taylor shrugged. “She’ll order pancakes no matter where we go, so wherever you want to eat is fine with me. I think you need a break after your morning flame-throwing.”
Reece grumbled. “It wasn’t on purpose.”
“Sure, you say that now, but I know the truth. Those sunflowers made you do it, didn’t they?”
He smiled at her. “They weren’t my idea.”
“I know, I know, the wife made you do it.”
Reece tilted his head to one side. “You could say that.”
“I’m hungry!” Emily wailed.
“Okay, okay, keep your shirt on, we’re going,” Taylor said as she scooped Emily up and settled her on her hip. ~ within Chapter 15
