My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! The Duke of Montford (Montford, Monty, Cyril) received his title at the age of four after a tragic, and traumatizing, carriage accident that killed his parents. Because of that he has grown accustomed to things being a certain way (now he has major OCD) and receiving instant respect or at least subservience from his peers and lesser. However, with his nuptials upcoming, to a woman he chose for her good breeding, he wants all of his loose ends finished. Therefore, when he finds out that his “enemy” Mr. Honeywell has been dead for the past year, which means their families’ 200-year-old contract is now null and void; Montford plans to find out what is going on with the property/brewery that he owns because of that contract. Yet, he never expected to be so vexed, attracted, and turned around by a fiery redhead who is determined to keep things run her way no matter what.

This novel is a RIOT!! Intriguing, silly, steamy, and with many plot twists … you’ll be addicted from the first page. I could not get enough of this novel and its quirky characters. Watching them fall off their own personal pedestals is quite hilarious.

This is one hot and steamy historical romance I won’t call it an erotic romance because they only officially “hooked up” at the very end of the novel, yet with their fiery personalities it was HOT the whole way through. Both Montford and Astrid rose into their stations at early ages, which made them set in their ways and common enemies through a longtime family feud. They are one combustible couple that unintentionally flirts by fighting each other every step of the way. It was so thrilling to watch them fight their passions and unknown hearts’ desire from beginning to end.

While I LOVED this novel and it’s ending, I wish there wasn’t the loose ends that there were. Like what happened to/about Mr. Lightfoot and Charlie? Did Lady Katherine really keep Petunia as a pet? Also, while I appreciated Montford’s seductive ways, I wanted an epilogue about Montford and Astrid. So, since there wasn’t an epilogue I hope Virtuous Scoundrel (Book 2) starts where this one left off or at least not far behind at all possible.

I HIGHLY recommend this novel and series to those looking for a spicy historical romance!!

My Book Review : 2 out of 5 stars. I really had hoped to love this novel since its book description was very intriguing. However, I struggled from the very beginning. I found myself bored with the first few chapters and didn’t really get into the plot until I was well into Chapter 13. Then for the characters it was just so hard to like them, I understand they did and acted the way they did because of everything that happened to them. In addition, I know that Max was/is a good man (he would have to be to have put up with everything he does) yet he is such an IDIOT to get duped into everything that he did, and it was unrealistic to see Olivia disregarding all of her hurts so quickly with him. Then while I was happy, about the ending in some ways it mostly fell flat to me because, yes, the people who have an “epiphany” at the end should but it doesn’t come off as being natural to me.

My favorite characters were Paige (I loved her personal plot and how she changed her life) and Olivia (she was such a nice woman hoping to do the right thing for everyone and I LOVED her organization).

Overall, I don’t recommend this novel, but if you’re still interested, I’d recommend it for those looking for a slightly erotic contemporary romance.

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, Mal (Malachi) has been a lone wolf for a very long time. Currently he is on a mission to find out who the middleman is that is kidnapping beaten shifters away from an underground fighting ring and into their enemies’ hands. The only way to find out more is to get into the ring himself just to get caught. Though, for his friends he’s willing to find out just so everyone will be safe. Yet, on the way fate steps in to throw a wrench (of the female persuasion with her infant son) in his plans … will he be able to protect them all before it’s too late?

First off, I’ll admit, this is the first time I’ve read a novel by Ms. Jade, let alone either of the two series’ this novel is attached too. Therefore while some of the inside jokes I might have missed or might have not known the significance of some situations with sub-characters in this novel, when it came to Mal & Sofia I wasn’t lost at all. A good stand-alone. Nevertheless, the first half of chapter one I found very slow and didn’t entice me all that much, but I’m glad I stuck with it since once Mal & Sofia’s relationship started up is when the novel got GOOD!

The intensity that is Mal is undeniable and I LOVED how he softened around Sofia and Ace (her baby). It was so precious to read. While finding out how their backstories had interesting similarities was charmingly fated, in a way. It was both of their underlying sweetness to others (at least to those who mattered) that I couldn’t help but enjoy. In addition, it didn’t hurt that reading about Mal dealing with his wolf was hilarious in itself helped too.

I recommend this novel to those looking for a fast-paced suspenseful paranormal romance!
