"The Sheikh's Unruly Lover" [Almasi Sheikhs Series, Book 2] by Leslie North

Author's Book Description : Following a recent merger, American executive assistant Marian is sent overseas to meet with her company’s new Arab business partner. But once Marian sees who she’ll be working with—the handsome Sheikh Omar Almasi—she’s instantly wary of his good looks and brooding demeanor. When circumstances force her to step into her boss’ shoes, Marian is more than ready to prove she should be taken seriously...even if it means working side by side with the surly, sexy sheikh.

Two years after losing his wife to cancer, Omar is more driven than ever in his family’s oil business. He opposed the merger with the US tech firm, and now that it’s done, he refuses to compromise himself for corporate Americans. But Omar is caught off guard when he meets beautiful, business-savvy Marian. The woman drives him wild with her stubborn determination and her distracting allure. He’s never had to work so closely with someone so…feminine, and the more time they spend together, the more he has to fight his impulses.

Soon their attraction is undeniable, but with the wound of his wife’s death still not healed, Omar may never be ready to move on…unless Marian can show him how to love again.

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars! Will Marian & Omar be able to move on from their misgivings to negotiate a good deal or will everything fall apart, just as they try to get their bliss?

Made the Grade: Ditched: A Love Story by Robin Mellom

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Hardcover - Pages: 273; Kindle Edition - File Size: 1401 KB | Expected Release Date: January 10, 2012 | Publisher: Hyperion Books | Obtained: NetGalley

"Ditched: A Love Story" by Robin Mellom

My Book Summary : Justina finds herself at 6:15 am, the day after her Senior Prom, sitting in a ditch on the side of the road. She pulls herself together and walks down the road with every intention of finding a way home. Quickly she comes across a 7-Eleven where she finds a convenience store clerk who seems sympathetic enough to listen to her story. Going through her story, the clerk helps her find out how her best friend, and prom date, could turn into Captain Scumbag when just before prom she was thinking about taking their friendship to the next level. Will everything finally make since once she talks through what happened or it be obvious why she became DITCHED!!

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, it's a funny mystery through and through, about best friends who both want to be something more than friends but the night they plan on doing so they never seem to be on the same page. This novel has some of the same premise as "One Night That Changes Everything" by Lauren Barnholdt, but only in the aspect of something bad happened to Justina, she needs to find out what happened, and it has to do with her "boyfriend."

I really liked how this novel goes back and forth between Justina's previous events of what happened to get her into that ditch and her sitting at the 7-Eleven with the convenience store clerk and the other costumer. Very well written!! Plus ... the ending is just OHH soo good! =0) As well as the really cute epilogue!

However, I will admit that there were some parts that annoyed me and some parts that were a little slow but all in all this novel was enjoyable to read!

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed reading "One Night That Changes Everything," or to anyone who loves reading YA romance novels!! ♥

Book Teaser(s) :
That damn green shirt. None of this would have happened if it weren't for that stupid color.
It's like a nightmare Sesame Street episode: This month's gut-wrenching, painful heartache brought to you by the color green!
But I quickly snap back to reality and remind myself that I am telling this story to the cashier at the 7-Eleven due to the fact that Ian Clark left me on prom night and I ended up in a ditch on Hollister Road.
Screw the color green. ~ within Chapter 1

Feasted On: One Perfect Night by Rachael Johns

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 425 KB | Expected Release Date: December 19, 2011 | Publisher: Carina Press | Obtained: NetGalley

"One Perfect Night" by Rachael Johns

My Book Summary : Penelope (Peppa) has heard some stories about her new hot boss, Cameron, not all of them good stories, and now she has to meet him face-to-face to tell him how she dented his Lamborghini earlier that day. Eeek!!

Cameron would like nothing better than to leave his work's Christmas Party for the staff's families but since he is the boss, it's required for him to be there even if he dreads it. So, when this hot little woman, Peppa, comes up to talk to him he is completely enamored with her and happy to find an excuse to leave the party even if it is to deal with his vehicle. After a little while of talking, as a way to spend more time with Peppa, Cameron propositions her---instead of her pulling money together to pay for fixing his vehicle she should attend his family's Christmas Party (which is that same night) as his girlfriend so his family will get off of his back about dating again. To which Peppa reluctantly agrees.

That night they find themselves addicted by lust with each other, making one perfect night turn into a whole lot more. However, they both want different things---Peppa wants a family and Cameron is determined never to get close to anyone again---and both know they shouldn't do anything with each other, as they're co-workers. Yet, fate seems to have other plans for them .... will they listen to fate or be determined to stick to their plans?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars, this novel is thoughtful, sweet, spicy, and poignant!! I loved how the story was written--by not dragging out scenes, filling in the character background when needed, and everything wrapping up nicely! Plus, the characters were great!! Peppa is a sweetheart. Cameron has his own demons but deep down he takes care of everyone he knows. Then the secondary characters just energize this story, making it one I didn't want to put down!

I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys contemporary romances that are a bit erotic too.

Book Teaser(s) :
“So what am I doing here?”
“I need you to play a role tonight,” he explained. “Act like you were made for the nook of my arm and you’ll have paid your debt. I’ll take you back to collect your car and we’re even. It’s not like I expect anything more.”
At the word more her cheeks instantly flamed. The thought that he expected sex from her had never crossed her mind but now...well...the idea was shockingly enticing.
And laughable. Guys like Cameron McCormac didn’t need to coerce women into sleeping with them. Women’s knees buckled at the feet of men like him.
Which begged the question...exactly why did he need her specifically this evening? Surely he had a little black book thick to bursting with numbers of women more appropriate than she.
Stop thinking, Peppa. ~ within Chapter 2
She felt his smile as his lips brushed teasingly against her ear. “You look tired.”
Her body responded with a delicate shiver and a shake of her head. His hot breath made her feel anything but. “Not. At. All.”
“Still,” he began in a mock-earnest tone, “I think the gentlemanly thing would be to take you in to bed.”
Her lips curled at the dangerous thought. “And I thought chivalry was dead.” ~ within Chapter 8

Made the Grade: Dark Series, Book 21

Format: Hardcover | Pages: 342 | Release Date: August 2010 | Publisher: Berkley

"Dark Peril" [Dark Series, Book 21] by Christine Feehan

My Book Summary : Dominic is a Dragonseeker, a powerful Carpathian warrior, who will do anything to protect his family and the Carpathian people. Even if it means ingesting parasitic infested vampire blood to get in behind enemy lines, find out what their plans are, and then go down fighting. However, he never expected to find his lifemate while in the mists of his plans.

Solange is one of the last of her kind -- part jaguar, part human and a 100% royal pureblood -- she will do anything in her power to save the woman of her species that are being beaten and abused by the hands of her father (the ruler of the jaguar people) and the men that follow him. Her plans also include finding a way to kill her father, a man who slaughtered her whole family, by any means possible.

For the past couple of months Dominic and Solange have been having dreams of one another, thinking that the other person wasn't real. However, they suddenly find out that isn't true when Solange runs into and aids Dominic while he is fighting some vampires while in South American jungle.

Will they decide to stay on their paths which might end up killing one or both of them? Or will they decide being together no matter what is better then being separated for good?

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars, not quite what I expected but I still enjoyed this latest novel in the Dark series. Basically what got me so into this book is that I usually like 'shifter' characters and I really liked how Solange was worked into the Carpathian world. I'm curious as to what the future will hold after Solange and Dominic's secret comes out (if it comes out) to the Carpathian community.

Book Teaser(s) :
"Should you need blood," Solange said, "call to us."
Dominic didn't protest, but he was never going to allow such a risk to her again. Fighting vampires was one thing, but walking into the very fangs of a Carpathian on the verge of turning was something altogether different. His heart was still pounding, the sound drumming in his veins. He looked at her, this woman who was such a miracle to him. ~ within Chapter 10

Made the Grade: Bound Series, Book 2

Format: Paperback | Pages: 340 | Release Date: October 2011 | Publisher: Zebra Books | Obtained: Walmart

"Bound By Blood" [Bound Series, Book 2] by Amanda Ashley (aka Madeline Baker)

My Book Summary : Kaitlyn, a half-human half-vampire who recently moved to Nevada, is intrigued by the local casino owner, Zack, with his handsome looks, his charming ways, and mysterious persona she can't seem to get enough of him during their dates. Zack feels the same way about Kaitlyn. However, when Kaitlyn realize what Zack actually is will they be able to keep seeing each other or will they have to end their relationship?

Finding out each other’s secrets isn't as important though when there is a pissed off witch plotting revenge on Kaitlyn's father by hurting Kaitlyn any way possible. Will the witch succeed or will Zack and Kaitlyn's family be able to defend her before anything bad happens?

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars!! This series has a great new take on the vampire romance theme!! I loved how the author wrote about Kaitlyn's lifestyle and the different types of vampires. The relationship between Kaitlyn and Zack was a little disappointing only because of how slow it progresses but that is only because of the racism Kaitlyn's relatives have of the "Others" and because of the vampires that are seeking revenge against Kaitlyn's family.

All in all it was a cute book that I'd recommend to whoever really enjoys new takes on vampire romance books.

Book Teaser(s) :
Teaser #1
"What are you doing here?"
The other vampire stared at him, his eyes wide with surprise, not fear. "I'm here to see Kaitlyn," he replied smoothly.
"Before the sun's even up?" Zack asked, still gripping the other man's arm.
"We're lovers," the man said with a leer.
"You're lying. Who the hell are you?" ~ within Chapter 12
"I can't wait that long. Will you help me?"
"I assume you tried to free Zack and failed?"
Kaitlyn nodded.
"That's what I thought. What do you think I can do that you couldn't? I don't have any superpowers."
"Maybe between the two of us, we can free him," Kaitlyn said. She didn't wait for an answer. ~ within Chapter 21

Disappointmentville: The Ex Games by Jennifer Echols

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 486 KB | Release Date: September 2009 | Publisher: Simon Pulse

"The Ex Games" by Jennifer Echols

My Book Summary : Four years ago, Hayden and her family moved from Tennessee to Colorado. During that time, she was in seventh grade, just recovered from a broken leg, and was swept up in being Nick's girl -- who was the hottest & richest boy at her new school -- even though they've only been on a few dates. But while on a date at the local movie theatre she found out that the only reason Nick was dating her was because of a bet with his friends, and once she found out instead of crying she bitched him out in front of everyone at the theatre (including a lot of kids from their grade).

Now they’re exes and over the years they have gotten into a habit of flirting, Nick playing tricks on her, and arguing/fighting with each other. However, during the day before their high school’s winter break they both find themselves in the hallway talking to each other and sitting mighty close together. Something’s in the air but Hayden isn’t quite sure what. She has wanted to be with Nick again ever since they had their fight four years ago but things always got in the way. Plus, it doesn’t help that she’s not sure she can trust him. Also, even though they both happen to be single right now, ever since they broke up, Nick’s longest relationship lasts only about two to three dates, and Hayden doesn’t want to just end up like all of his other girls.

During winter break Hayden wins a snowboarding competition, afterwards she celebrates with her friends, their boyfriends, and Nick. While they are all talking about her competition Nick says that she only won because she was against girls, but if she went up against a boy of her age bracket she would loose. This, of course, starts an argument between the girls and the guys, and ending with Nick and Hayden going against each other that following Saturday (Valentine’s Day) in a comp to see who’s the better boarder.

While the pressure for who will win the comp builds and it seems that the whole town is taking a side, Hayden and Nick go back and forth on getting together again or just arguing with each other and staying sort-of friends. On top of that, Nick is having family issues and Hayden is trying to conquer her fear of heights ... will they be able to fight the odds and realize what is happening between them? Or will they not make up and keep playing the game they’ve been playing since they broke up in seventh grade?

My Book Review : 2 out of 5 stars, because I liked the concept but Nick and Hayden bickered way to much for me to enjoy it. It was like the first time someone said something wrong the other person would chop off the other's head by any means necessary. However, I did like the relationship between Hayden and her younger brother ... their back-and-forth was very entertaining. =0)

My Previous Review(s) for this Author : Forget You

Book Teaser(s) :
Hayden, she's a red-haired lass
Doing nose-grabs by the score
Gonna kick some Krieger ass
Maybe she needs one day more
Wants to snowboard off the jump
Not today, she's filled with sorrow
Scared she'll lose her steeze and biff
Gonna kick some ass tomorrow. ~ within the Chapter titled 'lemon grab'
"Dish, Hayden," exclaimed a gossip-seeking girl who skied directly into my path. "It would be soooo cute if you and Nick got together after he sealed your backpack inside that plaster of Paris volcano last year."
Liz giggled and elbowed me. "I'd forgotten all about that one!"
"But my friends say no way," the girl went on. "Nick hates you. Which is it?"
I shrugged. "I guess you'll have to ask Nick." And if she found out, I hoped she'd pass that info along to me. ~ within the Chapter titled 'jib'

"His Eyes" by Renee Carter

My Book Summary : Tristan has won numerous horse show-jumping competitions, competing and riding his horse is just about his favorite thing to do. However, he never expected to have an accident, while competing, that would completely change his view of the world and leave him blind. Since then he has been unsure of who he is and doesn't want to accept his new reality ... basically he has withdrawn himself from his friends (not that they really put much of an effort to see him), family (who will stop at nothing to get him out of this slump), and everything he use to enjoy.

Thinking of a way to get him to accept the new changes in his life, his mother hires a "babysitter" named Amy who is the same age as he is (a senior in high school just about to graduate).

Amy is from the complete opposite side of town from Tristan's rich-boy life, but she's not sure she would change anything. Well ... except trying earn enough money so she can go to her top college, that her parents won't be able to afford. So, getting this "babysitting" gig sounds great .... until she learns that Tristan is the same age as her .. but with the amount his mother plans to pay her she's definitely willing to give it a shot!

Tristan doesn't want Amy's help, but she tries to make it work between them. But just as things start getting better with them, Tristan's beautiful ex-girlfriend comes into the picture and throws a wrench into everything ....

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars. Inspiring, sweet, romantic, and funny ... what more could you ask for in a book .. let alone a YA novel! The chemistry between Tristan and Amy (even if their lives where so different) just sparks off of the page! Also, I loved Tristan's family ... I wished I could hang out with them myself! =0)

"And the surprise is...?"

Those are the questions that Mikey & Ellie are dealing with now, while each of their worlds are falling apart. Both try to find out the truth of what happened between their siblings --- whether by looking into the others family with plans to hurt the man who did it or trying to look into ones self and go through their memories.

When Mikey & Ellie meet their worlds collide and nothing that they once believed will be the same.

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! This story is intense, thought-provoking, and endearing while having a romantic edge. It definitely makes you think about people in those situations. Also, it makes you wonder about what you might want to do if it were you. However, the situation in the book surrounds this merging love between two people that, in the eyes of their families and the law, should have nothing to do with each other but can't seem to stop being a part of each others lives.

I recommend this to whoever is a fan of YA contemporary romance novels!

Book Teaser(s) :
Another said, 'How's your brother?' And when Ellie told him Tom was fine, he said, 'Shame.'
Three girls who would never acknowledge her any other day came up.
'How's Tom managing?' they asked, all soft-voiced and concerned, as if he had many wives.
'Um, he's OK.' ~ within Chapter 10
'So, you're called Tyler?'
He looked down at himself and frowned. 'It's not my real name.'
Tom said Karyn McKenzie was a liar. Obviously the whole family was, since everything about this boy was fake. He'd targeted the party, rather than stumbled across it, he'd deliberately chatted her up because he knew who she was. Even now, as he looked her up and down, his eyes warm and flirtatious, it was only an act. ~ within Chapter 18
