"An Amish Match" [Amish Hearts Series, Book 2] by Jo Ann Brown (aka J. A. Ferguson, Jo Ann Ferguson, Joanna Hampton, Rebecca North, & Marianne Ellis)
Author's Book Description : A Convenient Wedding
With a baby on the way, a toddler son to care for and a run-down farm, Amish widow Rebekah Burkholder is worried for her family's future. So when a kind, hardworking Amish widower with three children proposes marriage for sensible reasons, Rebekah accepts. She'll oversee Joshua Stoltzfus's household, be a loving mother to his children and try to reach his rebellious teenager. Joshua will make a wonderful father to her young son and the little one soon to be born. But as Rebekah unexpectedly falls for her new husband, dare she hope that Joshua will reopen his heart to love, too?
My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars! Joshua and Rebekah are both young Amish widowers who have kids (with one more on the way) and have known each other for a long time (Joshua was the best friend of Rebekah’s husband), but after Joshua’s wife passed away four years prior the families had grown apart from one another. Not long after another tragedy brings them back together, Joshua (with the encouragement from his mother) proposes to Rebekah. They bring their lives together not out of love but to help one another. Yet they both are holding secrets from each other, will they be able to overcome them to become a happy family that they both desire/deserve? Or will their secrets end up hurting them both in the long run?
I was looking for an engaging Amish romance and I found one in this enticing novel! As I read it in one day! All of the characters (Rebekah, Joshua, and their children) were all charming and their story was so intriguing that I could NOT get enough of it! It could be why I was a bit disappointed that the ending finished as it did as I felt it could have been longer and/or Ms. Brown could have showed a greater relationship wrap-up between Joshua and Rebekah if there was a bit more to the scene when they were delivering of their boppli.
Nevertheless, I found Joshua and Rebekah’s relationship to be a sweet hesitant romance that was enjoyable to witness as their love grew for one another. While taking on major story topics, you see how this considerate couple brings their families together and slowly find that who they really need out of life is one another. They captivated me with their love story. I’m so happy they got together!
I recommend this novel to those hoping to find a riveting sweet Amish romance!

"There's a big difference between taking care of your friend's family and..." She couldn't even say the word marry.
"But I haven't even taken care of you as I promised him."
"We've managed, and we will until I can sell the farm. Danki for your concern, Joshua. I appreciate what you are doing, but it's not necessary."
"I disagree. The fact remains I need a wife and you need a husband."
"You need a babysitter and I need a carpenter."
His lips twitched and she wanted to ask what he found amusing about this absurd conversation. ~ within Chapter 2
As soon as he'd finished his first cookie, Sammy had another and downed his milk with a gulp. He nodded when Rebekah asked him if he wanted more, then he looked across the table.
"Debbie!" He pointed with his cookie. "Milk, too?"
"Ja." Deborah grinned. "Danki, Sammy."
Rebekah refilled both glasses. "It sounds as if you've got a new name."
"He has trouble saying my whole name. So now we're Sammy and Debbie."
Wanda nodded. "That sounds perfect for a sister and brother."
"I have a lot of brothers now." The little girl leaned on the table. "Rebekah, please have a girl."
Though she secretly harbored the same hope, Rebekah replied, "We shall be blessed with the boppli God has chosen for us." ~ within Chapter 6
