My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars! Joshua and Rebekah are both young Amish widowers who have kids (with one more on the way) and have known each other for a long time (Joshua was the best friend of Rebekah’s husband), but after Joshua’s wife passed away four years prior the families had grown apart from one another. Not long after another tragedy brings them back together, Joshua (with the encouragement from his mother) proposes to Rebekah. They bring their lives together not out of love but to help one another. Yet they both are holding secrets from each other, will they be able to overcome them to become a happy family that they both desire/deserve? Or will their secrets end up hurting them both in the long run?I was looking for an engaging Amish romance and I found one in this enticing novel! As I read it in one day! All of the characters (Rebekah, Joshua, and their children) were all charming and their story was so intriguing that I could NOT get enough of it! It could be why I was a bit disappointed that the ending finished as it did as I felt it could have been longer and/or Ms. Brown could have showed a greater relationship wrap-up between Joshua and Rebekah if there was a bit more to the scene when they were delivering of their boppli.
Nevertheless, I found Joshua and Rebekah’s relationship to be a sweet hesitant romance that was enjoyable to witness as their love grew for one another. While taking on major story topics, you see how this considerate couple brings their families together and slowly find that who they really need out of life is one another. They captivated me with their love story. I’m so happy they got together!
I recommend this novel to those hoping to find a riveting sweet Amish romance!
