"Bossman’s Baby Scandal" by Catherine Mann
My Book Summary : Jason & Lauren had been collages and good acquaintances for over a year when saying goodbye to each other [as Jason was moving across the country into a new job] turned into a quick, HOT, passionate encounter that left them both wanting more. However, Lauren got scared by the passion they suddenly expressed to each other, and with them soon to be living in completely different locations, that Lauren convinces Jason that they shouldn't pursue anything between them.
Now 4 months later ... Jason & Lauren hasn't heard from each other at all. So, when Jason gets a picture texted to him, by a mutual friend of theirs, of a pregnant Lauren he immediately knows it's his baby and flies back to NYC to talk to her about it and also see if she'll help him out by being his fake fiancee. When he gets there he finds that Lauren's business is having some hard times. So, he thinks she would go along with his plans with no problem, even if its just for the baby's sake, right?
My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars, this story is HOT and intriguing with two main characters that make you wish this story was longer!! Both Jason & Lauren are determined to never be a "trust-fund kid" but sometimes they are too determined in a way that they stay at arms length with anyone they could possibly get close to too. I really liked the banter between the main characters it definitely keeps the story flowing.
I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good steamy romance.
Book Teaser(s) :
Pure want pounded through his veins. "You made it clear our plans for the future didn't jibe."
"That hasn't changed."
"Everything has changed." He shifted in his seat, the leather creaking as he leaned closer to her.
Her pupils dilated. She swayed nearer. Still he waited, taking his time to breathe in the fresh scent of her, the flowers and the greenery she worked with.
He slid an arm along the back of her seat, just cupping her shoulder, absorbing the feel of her, remembering. Her curves fit into the curve of his arm, softer, fuller with the swell of pregnancy between them.
He forced himself to move away. "This baby puts a whole new spin on priorities, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner we can move on to the good stuff."
She flopped back with a frustrated sigh. "You have a one-track mind." ~ within Chapter 3
