"Cinderella's Secret Diary (Book 1: Lost)" by Ron Vitale
My Book Summary : Have you ever wondered what happened to Cinderella after she married her Prince? Had it occurred to you that there might be more to her story (and how her life got the way it did) then what we were first told?
Well, now you can read the events that are happening in her life a few years after she married the Prince, and you'll find her happily-ever-after didn't play out like we were told. As Cinderella writes during the time of Napoleon's rise to power in the 1700's, we read how she deals with the politics in her new life, how she hopes for love in her life, and how she wishes for a better life. Nevertheless, over the time, reading her diary you'll see that Cinderella definitely learns the meaning of being careful for what you wish for ....
My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars, this story/diary sets Cinderella in a mix of the "real world" for that time-period (the 1700's) and fantasy (as she has fey after her). It's truly a well-written story and if you like reading in a historical diary format with a little bit of magic in it then this is the book for you!!
The only real reason that I gave this book 3 stars is because this book wasn't for me. I choose to read it because of the fairytale aspect of it but I'm so use to reading books from multiple points-of-view that this book wasn't as interesting to me as it should have been.
However, I will freely admit the reason I finished reading this story is because of how the plot laid out, as once I began reading the story I had to find out what happened to Cinderella. The intrigue in this story pulled me in and wouldn't let go. Therefore, with that being said, if you like the mysterious novels you might enjoy this book because of that reason as well.
My Review(s) for Blog Tour de Troops : Cinderella's Secret Diary (Book 1: Lost) | Scent and Shadow | BECOME
Book Teaser(s) :
I have told her my story of meeting with the Queen and of my promise to see the mysterious woman in France. Clarissa thinks that she might be a midwife who uses herbs and other natural remedies to aid women unable to bear children. I have remained silent about you. Clarissa and I are close friends, but I want to keep my relationship with you private for now. The secret that we share is a personal bond between us, and I desire to keep our correspondence solely between us, for now.
Clarissa is often judgmental, and I wish her not to color my fondness for you, as she would ask question upon question about why you were not by my side to help me. I can trust her, but I do not wish to reveal my thoughts to her yet. ~ within 'March 27'
Fairy Godmother, I realized at that moment as I closed my eyes that my decision would set me on a path from which I could not easily return. I listened to my heart and thought about what decision to make, and I felt a tingling in my left hand, and the moment froze in time. I imagined my future and that of my child’s and how happy we would be together and how simple the path could be. ~ within 'Late in the day on June 17'
