"Putting Boys On The Ledge" [The Girlfriend’s Guide to Boys Series, Book 1] by Stephanie Rowe (aka Stephie Davis)
My Book Summary : Four friends, starting their freshman year of high school, learn what it means to attract the guys they like. The most recent thing they learned, from one of the friend's older sisters, was to put the guys one The Ledge, so that the guy would be one wanting more out of the relationship but not getting it, instead of them.
Blueberry (Blue) is one of the friends, who doesn't believe in the advantages of The Ledge until she finds a guy, while at the high school musical additions, that she would love to date. And even though Blue thinks she could never gain his attention, suddenly she has it and not sure how to keep it. Especially since, she's never had a boyfriend before. Therefore, her friends ask Colin, a senior who works for Blue's parents doing her chores while she's in the musical, to help her out and he offers his services to help her get the guy. But he's just helping out to be a friend, right?
Soon Blue is about to learn what it means to really have a crush on a guy and what it means to want to put a guy on The Ledge.
My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars, this is a sweet and endearing novel about a girl coming into her own. It is a good novel and series for young teen girls. Very empowering. The characters were fairly realistic and very entertaining. Blue and her friends are a close group of girls who, at first, you might not expect them to have anything in common, but for some reason their friendship works. Colin was a great character too. I enjoyed watching how his playful side came out with Blue.
I recommend this story and series to anyone who is a fan of Young Adult novels!!
Book Teaser(s) :
"It wasn't that he hadn't noticed Blue at the auditions. It was just that he didn't recognize her because she looked different, older, and there were so many distractions she didn't have time to woo him."For more information on this book, series, and/or any other books by Stephanie, then please check out her website.
"Woo him? How do you woo?" I didn't know I was supposed to woo. I'd been focusing on trying to have an intelligible phrase come out of my mouth.
"Yes, what's wooing?" Natalie asked. ~ within Chapter 4
