"Whitney" [Alpha Marked Series, Book 3] by Celia Kyle

My Book Summary : It's the last day of the Gathering, in which "alpha marked" human woman are summoned to attended to find out if they are "eligible" to mate with any of the single alpha male pairs as their destined mate, and by now Whitney is PISSED. She might be a triplet but while her other sisters are marked, and were recently mated in two separate couplings to the Ruling Alpha pair & The Captain of the Guard with his Lieutenant, Whitney has no marks and has no idea why she would have been chosen to attend this event. Yet, when she finally gets a chance to talk with Emmett and Levy, the Ruling Wardens, about why she is there they all find that their lives are going to change instantly in one little meeting. All because Whitney is their mate! However, since Wardens aren't supposed to have mates they are thrown into an evil plot that they never saw coming...

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, this match up between Whitney, Emmett, & Levy was combustible! I loved how Whitney was able to find romance, even under the most unique of circumstances! Even though this was the first novel I read in this series, I liked how it quickly caught you up without dragging the plot at all. I really liked reading the banter between the sisters and the ways Whitney, Emmett & Levy get to know each other!

My only wish is that the ending was better. I know this author usually writes shortish novels but I'm just not sure where this series will be taken next as all of the sisters have found their mates already, and yet in this novel the story lines didn't seem all that resolved in the end. Therefore, I'm just curious as to who and where this series will be taken next, or if it will go anywhere else...?

I recommend this novella to anyone who is a fan of Ms. Kyle's as well as this series. Also, I recommend it to those who enjoy paranormal erotica romances!

Book Teaser(s) :
They meandered, Whitney shuffling in Scarlet’s wake. At least until they were stopped by a huffing and puffing Callum.
“Misses Wickham! Misses—” She and Scarlet turned toward the approaching wolf. “Miss Wickham, Whitney, the Ruling Wardens—” He heaved in a great breath.
“You know, Callum, you really need to add some cardio to your routine. Build up that endurance. I recommend Tae Bo.”
Whitney looked to her sister with her eyebrow raised. “Really? You’re giving him workout advice? When was the last time you actually did anything other than walk to the elevator?”
Scarlet scoffed. “Duh, you’ve heard me ‘workout’ like, all the time since I mated Madden and Keller.”
“I don’t think letting them worship you sexually counts.”
Her sister rolled her eyes. “Of course it does. I get all sweaty.”
“With their sweat.”
“You know what—”
“Misses Wickham, please.”
That got Whitney’s attention. “Look at that, he said please and everything.” She smiled. “I don’t think I wanna stab you in the eye anymore. Unless you’re about to bust out with another ‘legitimate.’ Then it’s on. I will so tap dance all over your furry butt.”
Scarlet snorted. “Tap dance?”
“What?” She glared at both of them and settled on her sister. “You have Tae Bo, Gabby has P90X. I tap. There’s metal on the bottom of my shoes. They’re dangerous.” She nodded to emphasize her statement and then pointed at Callum. “You just better be thankful I never took up clogging.”
Callum did not look impressed. ~ within Chapter 1
Her glowing hand.
Her glowing, with weird lines all over it, hand.
Wait, back it up. Glowing. And the lines weren’t stripes or squiggles, but had a definite shape and pattern. They pulsed with an iridescent light, the rainbow of colors flowing along each curve. And they looked like, exactly like, her sister’s Marks.
But all over.
“What. The. Fuck?” The words were raspy, but she got them out.
“We, uh, don’t know.” Emmett’s words were timid and that snared her attention. He was a Ruling Warden, one half of the most powerful Warden Pair in North America. The werewolf didn’t have a timid bone in his body.
“We have a guess.” Hell, even Levy wasn’t sure of himself.
“And what, pray tell, is our guess,” she licked her lips and swallowed, her panic quickly overcoming any pain that lingered. “As to why I suddenly resemble a graffiti covered glow stick?” ~ within Chapter 3

Idolizing In: By Blood Series, Book 1

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 3274 KB | Release Date: September 9, 2012 | Publisher: Self-Published | Obtained: Amazon.com

"Desire By Blood" [By Blood Series, Book 1] by Melissa Schroeder (aka Kiera West)

Author's Book Description : A man with a secret.

Nicodemus Blackburn has seen the best and worst of mankind. Five hundred years of dealing with them teaches the vampire to be very wary of the creatures. Unfortunately, alarming events leave him no choice but to enter the world of the ton to hunt a rogue vampire—one who is making his own army of blood thirsty vampires. Searching for the villain is not the worst of his troubles. That can be laid at the feet of bluestocking Lady Cordelia Collingsworth.

A woman on a mission.

Cordelia has always been an outcast, even in her own family. She has forged her way in the world with her ability to write, and Nico Blackburn is the focus of her next article. Before she can obtain any information about the mysterious man, she is pulled headlong into a scandal that leaves her with no choice but to marry Nico—a man with dangerous secrets.

A passion that consumes them both.

Thrust into a world she knows nothing of, Cordelia finds herself falling in love with a man who claims to be a vampire. As their passion grows, so does the danger around them and Nico will have to call on all of his powers to protect the one thing he has realized he cannot live without: his opinionated, infuriating, and thoroughly delectable wife.

My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!! Thrust into a marriage neither ever expected, this couple finds ways to overcome their fears and follow their hearts when everything is put on the line...

I loved this dynamic duo! Cordelia with her sass and Nico with his passion made me fly through this novel trying to read more, more, more about them!! This novel got me into vampire romances again! I especially loved that it was based in a historical setting because it gave you a whole new idea of that time period. In addition, the premise of the Vampire Alliance and all of the nuances that it means to be a vampire (both female and male) were fun to learn about! It'll be interesting to see where this series will lead us next.

I recommend this novel and it's series to anyone who likes vampire romances, especially those set in a historical setting.

Book Teaser(s) :
Nico could not discern Cordelia’s reaction. She stared at him, no expression on her face. For the longest of moments, he thought she might faint.
“Vampire?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Yes.”
“You married me because I can birth vampires?” she asked.
“Yes.”
She started to back away from him. “And your parents are vampires?”
Relief started to edge out his worry. She was starting to understand. “Yes.”
He followed her steps, and she stopped by the door. “Stop stalking me.”
“I am not stalking you. You are running away.”
She took another step then stopped. Her spine stiffened. “You tell me you are a vampire and then expect me not to be afraid.”
He hated hearing her say she was afraid, but before he could reassure her he would never harm her, there was a knock at the door.
“Go away,” he shouted at the same time she said, “Come in.”
The door opened, bumping Cordelia in the back. She pitched forward, and Nico caught her to keep her from falling to the ground. He righted her. Cordelia wrested her arm out of his hand and shot him a dirty look. His mother poked her head through the opening.
His mother smiled at him reassuringly. “I see you told her.”
She looked at his mother. “Told me?”
“What we are. He told you.” His mother nodded, slipping through the door. “I have a feeling Nico did not explain it quite right.”
“That you are a family of vampires?”
Cordelia’s voice had grown smaller each time she spoke. He didn’t like it. Not one bit. He would rather have her yelling at him.
His mother took the comment the wrong way. Her smile widened as she stepped into the room. “There. That is all settled.”
“Settled.” Now, Cordelia’s voice was barely audible. His mother finally realized that there might be something wrong.
“Yes, dear. I can answer any of your questions.”
“Cordelia, you look ready to faint,” Nico said.
That snapped the glazed look out of her eyes, and her spine straightened. “I am not about to faint. What do you take me for? I am not some silly-brained woman who faints at the slightest of shocks.”
“But of course not, my love.”
She shot him a look that told him he was in more trouble than he had expected. ~ within Chapter 13
His father caught on also and came forward. He kissed his mother on the cheek. “You will take a footman with you.”
It was not a request. It was an order. Those usually did not go over well with his mother, but she smiled and patted his cheek.
“I daresay we need to take several. Cordelia and I are definitely not stupid,” his mother said with a smile.
He glanced at his wife to see her reaction. She smiled, and a bit smugly at that. Nico did not say a word as he approached her.
“You will be careful.” Again, he ordered, just like his father.
“I guess I could defy you, but that would be stupid. And I will remind you, husband, that the only time I was not careful, I ended up married to a vampire.”
He sensed their audience, but he ignored them. It was not hard to do. Whenever Cordelia was near, little else matter to him. Even before he neared her, he could scent her blood. It called to him like a siren’s song.
He gave her a kiss much as his father had his mother, but whispered just loud enough for her to hear, “Do not take too long, or I’ll come after you.”
When he pulled back, her face was delightfully pink. Her eyelids fluttered then she looked up at him. She might be able to hide a lot of things, but her attraction to him was not one of them.
“I don’t like to be threatened.” Her breath whispered over his skin. He knew from her cheeky tone she wasn’t angry.
“Be careful.” Nico leaned down and kissed her nose.
She nodded and followed his mother out the door. He watched the sway of her hips until she was out of view. When he turned around, the entire room was watching him.
“What?”
“It seems that our leader has truly fallen.” Saint said.
“What the bloody hell are you talking about? Leader?” He paused. “What do you mean fallen?” ~ within Chapter 15

Disappointmentville: The Wiccan-Were-Bear Series, Book 7

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 259 KB | Release Date: October 11, 2013 | Publisher: Self-Published | Obtained: Amazon.com

"A Promise on White Wings" [The Wiccan-Were-Bear Series, Book 7] by R. E. Butler

My Book Summary : Danika is a shifter who doesn't know what she is since she has yet to shift and because she was raised in a bear den that found her wandering around the woods by herself as a toddler. Now years later, while attending the Northern Ohio's full moon celebration and a welcome party with her bear den she unexpectedly meets her mates--Jesuit (Jes) the Prince and leader of the falcon nest & Chance the eldest Prince of the were-lions. Soon she finds out that with her mates help she can shift and is looking forward to her future. That is if the Prince of her bear den didn't already make plans to claim her as his own, and will do whatever means necessary win her back...

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars--a woman shifter finds out what she was really missing in her life, her true-mates, in doing so she learns more about herself and her future in ways she never would have believed before.

I thought this novel was okay. I liked the plot, Danika's abilities, how everything turns out for her, and the "look into the future" that is offered. However, I wish there was more interaction between Danika, Jes, & Chance then was portrayed. I mean in this novel you do get a feel for their respect and love for one another but I wish there was more banter between them. It all felt a bit rushed.

I recommend this novel to anyone who, like me, is a fan of the author and this series!

Book Teaser(s) :
Jesuit picked up Danika, and when his arm brushed against her upper back, she went rigid in his arms and bit back a scream of pure agony. Her vision blurred and she closed her eyes, feeling as if she might throw up. She opened her eyes when Jesuit laid her on her side on the bed in the guest tent and gently rolled her to her stomach.
Chance knelt on the bed next to her and smoothed her hair from her face. “Tell us what hurts, katja.”
“My back,” she spoke through gritted teeth.
Elizabeth said, “Ash, go get Shaylee.”
Jesuit stood next to the bed, one of his hands hand held hers, and he planted the other on his hip. “Elizabeth, it’s nice to see you again.”
“You, too, Jes.”
“Would you mind finding my men and getting them here? One of the bears from her den tried to hurt her, and I want him found immediately.”
Axe growled. “I’ll get them.”
Danika’s head turned slowly to the side and she peered up at Jesuit. He looked down at her and smiled when she squeezed his hand. “What can I get you, little bird?”
“A new back,” she offered as a small attempt at humor. Aside from the pain in her back, she felt as if something monumental was happening between the three of them and she was too out of it to know what it was.
Chance squeezed her other hand. “It’ll be okay, katja. We’ve got you.”
Had she ever felt so immediately cared for and accepted? Not since Mama. She squeezed both of their hands and offered them a watery thank you, and then closed her eyes, waiting for whoever Shaylee was to come and help. ~ within Chapter 3
He grabbed Pyre, Gamble, and one of the house workers – a young falcon named Terrence – to lead them.
“You’re not even with your new mate for a whole day and already you’re taking on responsibility,” Pyre teased. “I’m glad to see she’s having such a positive influence on you.”
Chance told them that it was Jes’ idea. “And you’ll have to call me Sire when we’re in public, too,” he warned them.
“Oh shit, man,” Gamble groaned, “I will not bow to you, big brother, so cast the thought far from your mind.”
Prye said, “Maybe being related to the future King will get you a way in with the pretty falcon females we’ve seen in the territory.”
Gam’s eyes lit up. “I hadn’t thought of that.” He paused and bowed at the waist with a dramatic flare. “Your majesty.”
Chance’s cheeks flamed in embarrassment, and he shoved his brother’s shoulder. “I feel sorry for any woman who’s foolish enough to take you to bed, Gam.”
“Foolish yes, but also very, very lucky.”
If what Jes thought was true – about falcons and lions sharing a mate – then he felt sorry for whoever was unlucky enough to be saddled with his playboy brother. Thinking on Danika, he sped up his stride so he could see the homes and then get back to the house to her. ~ within Chapter 8

About the Author :
I'm J.C. Isabella, and I love to write. I've been writing for about ten years now. Mostly it was just for fun, for me. But my friends liked my work, so I decided to self publish. I hope you enjoy the rest of my site, and the books I have written.

The reason I chose to write romance, is because I love a happy ending. In YA there are so many lessons to be learned, so many firsts to be had. Why not write about first kisses, first crushes, or trying to explain to your father you were bitten by your boyfriend, who happens to be a werewolf?

One thing I will always promise in my books is a happy ending. I've always hated getting to the end of a really great novel, and feeling let down because it didn't end the way I thought it should. So about ten years ago, I decided to write a book. I remember it was about these kids who hijack a boat to find buried treasure in Mexico....

Needless to say, my writing has come a long way since my teen years, and I know I have room to improve, but I feel guilty having these books sitting in my computer, with no one to read them. So I'm putting them out for the world to see!

I try not to take myself too seriously. I'm not an editor, nor am I a total wiz when it comes to grammar or language. I try my darndest though, and I hope to give people an enjoyable read that is nice a break from reality.

I put a lot of work into what I do, and I appreciate people reading my work. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Feasted On: Southern Shifter Series & The Black Cougar Trilogy, Book 4

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 320 KB | Expected Release Date: September 10, 2013 | Publisher: Gypsy Ink Books | Obtained: NetGalley

"Bad Kitty" [Southern Shifter Series & The Black Cougar Trilogy, Book 4] by Eliza Gayle

My Book Summary : Kitty has had a rough time of it lately. First she gets blamed for not being more helpful to her clan, when in all reality she was just trying to keep her head down protect herself from her father. Then when she does help out everyone doesn't believe it was because of the "goodness of her heart" and is banished from her clan into the neutral zone. Now just as she arrives to her new "home" and life she is ambushed and beaten by some old female cougar rivals who have it out for her, making her run for safety and into the arms of a darkly handsome alpha wolf, Rafe! Fate might have handed her, her mate at one of the most inopportune times but is joining their lives together in their best interest or should Kitty do everything in her power not to ruin all of Rafe's plans?

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars! This novel is about a "bad kitty" who is trying to learn to trust again, find patience, and turning her life around in more ways then one. Even though I haven't read any of the other novels in this series, I was instantly captivated by Kitty's feistiness and Rafe's erotic determination. Between the two of them I kept wishing that this novel was longer just so could read more about them; they were just a great match up!!

I am really curious as to see how their relationship will change Rafe's pack. In addition, I'm curious to see where this series will lead to next -- with hopes that Kitty and Rafe will be apart of this series more too! =0)

I recommend it to anyone who is already a fan of the series/trilogy, and to those who enjoy mixed shifter romances!

"How bad is it?"
"He's pissed. Tanner's been running his mouth off to anyone and everyone and Burke has had enough. He wants you two at his place yesterday so I wouldn't suggest making him wait long."
"Uhm, excuse me." Kitty pushed at his arm until he moved out of her way so she could sit up. "Anyone care to explain to me what's going on?"
Rafe shook his head. He'd hoped there'd be more time before it got to this. They still barely knew each other and yet, the woman had stirred something inside him the wolf couldn't let go of. He shifted uncomfortably to prove it. His balls ached and his dick would not go down no matter how much he willed it. They definitely needed more time.
"Your friend from the woods is looking to take you back. I'm sure he figures you've healed by now and wolves tend to get pretty possessive over their property." He shot a pointed glance at his friend.
Simon held up his hands. "Don't look at me like that. I told him she was having issues healing and put them off as long as I could."
"Is that what you call this?" She held up her arm and flaunted the rough puckered skin along her otherwise smooth flesh. "An issue?"
"Don't," Rafe warned. He really didn't want to get into this with her again.
"Whatever." She brushed his warning aside. "That reminds me. Why the hell are there no mirrors in this room?"
He shrugged. He had no intention of getting into his reasoning for removing them. The damage to her arm and side were bad enough but seeing the disfiguration of her face the first time wasn't going to go well.
She pushed past Doc and started from the room. "I don't know what you two are doing with your googly eyes and bullshit sideways glances but I don't want any part of it. Isn't it about time you released me? I've got a life you know..." Her voice faded into the background as she wandered to the other side of the house.
"Aren't you going to go after her?" Simon questioned.
"Give her a minute. I don't think everything I said has quite sunk in yet. Right now she's got a one-track mind and isn't going anywhere. Nor is she going to find what she's looking for."
His friend whistled. "What is going on with you? This hard-on you have for her is giving me a headache."
"Shut the fuck up and tell me what else Burke had to say." ~ within Chapter 6

Idolizing In: Holland Springs Series, Book 1

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 359 KB | Release Date: February 2, 2013 | Publisher: Self-Published | Obtained: Smashwords

"Drive Me Crazy" [Holland Springs Series, Book 1] by Marquita Valentine

My Book Summary : Ever since Carter picked her to be on his football team when they were kids, Melanie has been in love with his in some way or another. Now years later, she has a chance to see if her feelings could ever be returned while he is back in town, retired from being a NASCAR racer and trying to figure out what he'd like to do with the rest of his life. Therefore, to find out for sure--and because she needed the extra money--Melanie "convinces" Carter to have her become his temporary assistant. Quickly the sparks fly between them and it's hard to deny the attraction/lust any longer. Yet, will Carter's feelings/reaction mean that he is willing to love her forever like she wishes or are they fated to be only close friends in the long run?

Either way, it might be hard to find out the full truth of Carter's feelings with his stubborn mother always slightly putting her down and with a lying ex-fiancée who will do anything to get him back...

My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!! Follow this sweet and spicy romance between a girl who has been in love with her best friend's older brother for just about all of her life and see if it's truly unrequited love or not. It's hard not to get wrapped up in this love story; the main characters are just that captivating. Plus, the sex scenes were a fun and entertaining inclusions too.

Carter & Melanie were one couple that I loved reading about and couldn't get enough of, so I hope they'll be secondary characters in the other books within this series. For the secondary characters in this novel the ones that stood out and all I have to say about them are:

• Zoe: Melanie's best friend. Carter's sister. A writer who has a big secret she's keeping about her time in Los Angeles. I can't wait to read her story!

• Leah: Carter & Zoe's mother. Very old fashioned and set in her ways. Isn't a fan of Melanie, disapproves of Zoe's friendship with Melanie, and doesn't want Melanie involved with any of her sons. Like's April and wants her to get back together with Carter.

• April: Carter's ex-fiancée. She is the quintessential bad girl and trying to win Carter back by any means necessary. Uses her "friendship" with Leah to get on Carter's good-side and/or because she knows Leah will assist her in getting Carter to go back to her. She was the type of character you love to hate, so I don't think I'll be reading her story.

All in all, I adored this novel! I recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary romances that have an erotic touch to it.

“Carter,” she whispered against his mouth. “Kiss me.”
“Patience, sweetheart.”
“I’ve waited my whole life for this.”
“You say the most amazing things to puff up a man’s ego.” He her drew in her bottom lip and lightly bit it. Her knees went weak and she sagged against him. “Like that?”
Nodding, she rose up on her toes. She used the tip of her tongue to trace the seam of his mouth. As soon as he parted his lips, she slid inside and his tongue met hers. He growled, his shoes crunching on gravel as he moved out of the parking lot light. ~ within Chapter 5
“You’re going to drive this car.”
“No.” Even as she said the word, she climbed inside and put on her seatbelt. He closed the door after her and got in on the passenger side. She glanced at the floor and nearly jumped right back out. “I can’t drive stick anymore, Carter, not since I wrecked Ryan Sawyer’s truck.”
A wicked grin kicked up the corners of his mouth. “Hate to argue with a lady, but the things you were doing to me this morning say otherwise.”
Her mouth fell open, cheeks heating to beyond acceptable levels. Flicking her eyes at the rearview mirror, she wanted to die. Her face was a red as the paint job. Great...just great.
“What if I mess up the car?”
“I’ll be right here with you.” He touched her cheek. “Trust me.”
There he went with those words again. “Okay.”
“Know what to do first?”
“Yes.” Starting up the car or even putting it in reverse wasn’t the problem. It was getting out on Highway Thirteen and putting it into a higher gear. The last time she’d attempted this, she’d down-shifted her dad’s truck so many times she’d almost stripped the gears and given them whiplash. Her palms began to sweat as she pulled out of the parking lot.
“Doing good, baby.” He placed a warm hand on her thigh, gliding it down over her knee to cover her hand. A hand that had a kung-fu grip on the gearshift. “We’re going to do this together.”
Some of the tension that had worked its way into her shoulders began to fade away as he helped her shift from first to second. “Carter,” she whispered, knowing that her next move was where she had the most trouble.
“Put the pedal to the metal,” he said, his voice so confident that she did exactly what he said. “Ready?”
Don’t close your eyes, she silently reminded herself.
“Don’t close those big brown eyes of yours.”
Together they shifted into third, then fourth, and the only thing that happened was exactly what should have happened.
She let out a little cheer and Carter squeezed her hand. “You did it.”
“We did it,” she said. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t do with him at her side.
“Fine,” he said and she could hear the smile in his voice. “It was a team effort. Where to next, Miss Smith?”
Grinning she flicked her eyes to him then back at the road. “Wherever the road takes us.”
“Sounds like a plan to me.” Pulling her hand to his mouth, he kissed it. She fully expected him to let it go, but he laced his fingers through hers and every time she had to shift gears, he stayed with her.
Don’t ever let me go, she thought. ~ within Chapter 9

Teaser Tuesdays: Untamed Hunger

• Today's Teaser Tuesdays by MizB - click here

"Untamed Hunger" [Alpha Colony Series, Book 1] by Aubrey Ross (aka Cyndi Friberg)

Book Teaser:
His warm hands caressed their way down her arm; then he took one of the cuffs and wrapped it around her wrist, securely buckling the straps. “How does that feel? You shouldn’t be able to pull your hand free, but it shouldn’t be uncomfortable.”
“It feels odd, but not uncomfortable.”
“Why does it feel odd?”
“I know I’ll be helpless as soon as you secure the chains, and I don’t like being helpless.”
He paused, his thumb gently stroking her palm. “Sweetheart, you’re helpless now. I wouldn’t need restraints if I chose to hurt you. You’re safe because I care about you, and I would never intentionally harm you. The rest accents the connection forming between us and allows us to heighten the pleasure.”
There was no conceit in his tone, no arrogance. He was reminding her of the fundamental truth that existed in all living creatures. The strong either protected or destroyed those weaker than themselves. And there was no denying Grayson was stronger than she was.
She could either trust him or remain suspicious, and he would either prove worthy of her trust or disappoint. Only time would tell how this scene would play out.
He bound her other wrist and then her ankles. His fingers stroked her skin, lightly massaging her muscles, gentling her. Then he paused on his knees and looked up into her eyes. “Move your legs apart. Make sure you can comfortably stand, but give me plenty of room to play.” His lips brushed against her belly as he smiled, and his hands moved from her hips to her ass, caressing her cheeks as he waited for her to obey.
Plenty of room to play? With his fingers or his mouth or toys? What did he intend for her? There was a lot of time between now and sunrise, and all he’d promised was that he wouldn’t fuck her. ~ within Chapter 2

"Tattoo Thief: Gavin & Beryl" [Tattoo Thief Series, Book 1] by Heidi Joy Tretheway

Author's Book Description : Tattoo Thief will be released Oct. 8. Watch for the blog tour sponsored by InkSlingerPR.

22-year-old Beryl doesn’t know why Gavin Slater trashed his penthouse, abandoned his dog and fled the country. But as his house sitter, she must pick up the pieces for the front man of the white-hot rock band Tattoo Thief.

When ultra-responsible Beryl confronts the reckless rock star, she wants to know more than just what to do with his mess. Why is he running? What’s he searching for? And is he responsible for the death of his muse?

New York newbie Beryl must find her footing in Gavin’s crazy world of the ultra-wealthy to discover her own direction and what can bring him back.

Steamy, sassy and tender, Tattoo Thief is a story of breaking from your comfort zone to find a second chance.

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars!! A girl wanting a life full of adventure and opportunities meets a famous rock star dealing with grief and learning responsibility. This enticing duo go from a harsh employer/employee relationship to friends to a whole lot more while getting to know each other through internet messages and colorful banter. It took me by surprise by how much I enjoyed it, I just wish there was more to read about while they were face to face.

I loved the build up for this series as Gavin's friends/band mates’ sound like a fun group. Plus it will be interesting to see what Beryl's friend's big secret is in book 2! I can't wait to see where this series will take us next!

I recommend it for anyone who thoroughly enjoys reading contemporary romances, especially ones dealing with bad boy rock stars trying to reform. =0)

Book Teaser(s) :
Stella’s apartment is a no-go. She kept up the text campaign this morning until I finally replied with “I’ll call you after work,” to make her stop, but I still don’t know what I am going to say to her.
I wonder if I’ll even get my rent money back? After my run-in with Blayde, I doubt it.
At least housesitting for The Gavin Slater buys me time to find somewhere else. I’ve got his keys, I’ve got his dog—moving in is practically a requirement to take care of his screwed-up life. Once again, I find myself astounded by his utter lack of responsibility.
Who raised this caveman?
I steer Jasper to the crappy hotel and skip past the front desk clerk so she doesn’t see me with a dog. I pack quickly and glare at Jasper as he hops up on the bed and curls into a perfectly round dog-bagel. He covers his nose with his paw.
No respect.
Like owner, like dog.
I buckle on my camping backpack and bump my fifty-pound suitcase (which I am coming to think of as That Bitch) over the doorsill and out through the lobby, dropping my cardkey on the front desk.
“You can’t bring your dog in here!” the clerk is indignant, as if I’ve just trespassed on her grave.
“Not my dog,” I sass back. “He’s just along for the ride.”
I leave the clerk open-mouthed and push through the double doors to the street, where That Bitch swerves wildly as I navigate uneven sidewalks, curbs, brick-covered tree planters, and bags of garbage. To his credit, Jasper doesn’t yank on his leash much.
Good boy. Maybe there’s hope for Jasper, even if not for his owner. ~ within Chapter 8
Me: Mr. Slater? Are you there?
Gavin: Who’s this?
Me: Beryl Sutton. From Keystone Property Management.
Gavin: I thought it was Barry.
Me: Never mind. I want to talk to you about your place. I have some questions.
Gavin: What kind of a name is Beryl? Are you a guy or a girl?
Me: It’s a good name. I was named after a famous pilot who crossed the Atlantic in her airplane, solo.
Gavin: A woman? I thought that was Amelia Earhart.
Me: There’s more than one woman pilot in history, asshole.
My fingers freeze over the keyboard and adrenaline shoots through me. What the hell did I just do? After all the horrible things I’ve been thinking about Gavin, that word just flew from my fingers.
I want to bang my head on my desk. I am so screwed.
Me: Oh my God, Mr. Slater, I am SO sorry. I did not mean to type that. I meant there are more women pilots than *Amelia.* Please forgive me!!
Gavin: Liar.
Me: Excuse me, sir? I am truly sorry. That was totally unprofessional. It must have been autocorrect?
Gavin: You’re a rotten liar. You meant to call me an asshole. Admit it.
Me: No. I meant ... it’s been a rough morning. PLEASE forgive me. I don’t want Keystone to lose your business because of my mistake.
Gavin: Look, Beryl, it’s not like I haven’t heard it before. And if you lie about it, I’m not sure I can trust you with the rest of my business.
Me: Mr. Slater, I am very, very, very sorry I called you an asshole. I totally did not mean to offend you. (Are you very mad?)
Gavin: No. It actually made me LOL, and I don’t remember the last time that happened.
Me: I’m sorry. My brain is always two steps behind my mouth. Fingers. Whatever.
Gavin: Stop apologizing. And stop calling me Mr. Slater. I’m twenty-five. Mister makes me sound like a geezer.
Me: Yes, sir.
Gavin: Sir sounds like I’m a drill sergeant. Just Gavin, OK? ~ within Chapter 13
