"Crossing Lines" [Heat Wave Series, Book 3] by Alannah Lynne

Author's Book Description : In "CROSSING LINES," the world’s best-stocked toy drawer can only take a gal so far. Bored with her current assortment of vibrating, plastic pieces, building inspector Sam Wallace decides to add a new sex toy to her collection: Kevin Mazze. The irresistible Italian is happy to help her live out her long-held sexual fantasies, while also insinuating himself into her life and winning the affection of her five-year old daughter. But just as Sam starts to trust Kevin with her heart, as well as her body, she learns he’s committed an unforgivable sin.

Myrtle Beach developer Kevin Mazze is one of the good guys. He’s spent his life always doing the right things and making those around him happy, even if it means maintaining a relationship long after it’s reached its expiration date. When he meets the woman of his dreams, he finds himself making bad choices in the name of good and crossing lines he never thought he would… while praying she never learns of the secret he’s been hiding.

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars, during a whirlwind weekend, Kevin's life comes to a crossroads and changes forever when temptation gets the best of him. When Sam (Samantha) and her daughter, Michaela, fall into his life, they unintentionally save him but since it's a very complicated time for him, the choices he makes aren't always the best ones. Once all Kevin's secrets come to light, will he be able to pick up all the pieces after the fallout and really get a relationship going between Sam and himself? Or will it be too little too late?

This fast-paced novel is very erotic but sweet in the way that Sam & Kevin get to know one another. I liked it even though I'm still a little appalled by Kevin's decisions. Nevertheless, Kevin & Sam were a great together, definitely a perfect pair despite how they got together.

I recommend it to those who are looking for a fast-paced erotic romance.

Book Teaser(s) :
"What?"
After several tense moments of silence, Erik said, "You're too nice."
"What?" Gee, he sounded like a broken record.
"It doesn't matter who or the circumstances--your sister, your girlfriend, the homeless kid you picked up off the street and employ." At Kevin's raised brow, he said, "You gonna deny it?"
"Look how great the homeless kid turned out to be." Wade was smart and hardworking, and hiring him was one of the best decisions Kevin ever made.
Erik rolled his head around in a circle. "You're missing the point. You and Lizbeth have been on and off more than a light switch, but you still care about her. For that reason, you'll put her wants and needs before your own. Even if it makes you miserable."
Kevin glared, but it was all for show because he was having a hard time coming up with a decent argument. "So... what you're saying is I'm a pussy."
"And a dick." Erik's eyes lit up as his grin stretched wide. "Hey, check you out; you're a complete package."
"Fuck you." ~ within Chapter 3
