My Book Summary : In 1420, an Earl's wife gave birth to twin girls, which should be a joyous occasion, except for the fact that one of the girls was very sick and wasn't going to live long. Therefore, the Earl decided to take the babe to see a witch in hopes that she would be able to save his child. The witch agrees to do so, however, the Earl would need to give the girl up since she plans to send the girl through time.
Twenty-four years later Morgan helps her adopted mother out at their antique shop in the twenty-first century. One item in their shop that has always held Morgan's attention, which is a knight's armor. Recently she just found out who the knight was and what happened to him. Later that day, on her 24th birthday, she happens to be locking up the shop and saying goodnight to "her knight" when a storm picks up and she gets sent through time.
Now Morgan finds herself in medieval times dealing with people who believe her to be someone else, being informed that she’d be getting married to a Lord who wants nothing to do with her, and trying to fit into a world, she's not familiar with. Nevertheless, this is the first time in her life that she really has made friends with anyone, let alone most of the people in the castle. In addition, she finds that the Lord isn't as bad as she originally thought but should she even tempt herself with falling in love when the possibility of being sent back to the twenty-first century at any time??
My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! This compelling, entertaining, adventure of a novel is one that you won't want to put down! I LOVED the plot---from the whole thing about the Earl sending his daughter away with hopes of her getting better and returning to Morgan finding herself in a world she's not familiar with and learning the ropes to the epic love between the two main characters---it was just soo good!!!
About the Characters:• Morgeanna (Morgan): Spirited. Smart. Has a very big heart. Uses her knowledge to help out in any way she can. Hates horses.
• Derek: The Lord of Braddock. Broody. Has a reputation as being repulsive looking because he doesn't show his face that often to people who don't live at Braddock castle. Tries to take care of everyone around him. Can't get over his past.
• Amanda: Morgan's twin sister.
• Emmon: A young knight who thinks badly of woman because of what Derek taught him.
• Odelia: Morgan's maid. She's sweet and feisty for an old gal.
• Leonie: A deceitful, money/title hungry, wench.
• Matti & Hugo: A sweet couple who's main goal lately is to make sure that Derek will marry a good woman.
• Henry: He is a young King Henry VI. Good-natured. Likes Derek as a comrade. Eccentric.
• Otgar: He is an OGRE just like his name sounds to me. And a pig!
• Robert: Amanda's lover. Because he thinks Morgan is Amanda he doesn't take no for an answer and keeps pursuing her.
This was really a delightful read and I was very intrigued with how the epilogue is written since it ties up all of the loose ends.
I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys historical and/or time-travel romance books!! Or to anyone who just wants to read a good romance book that will put a smile on their face. =0)
Book Teaser(s) : “You must listen to me, Robert. I’m not who you think I am. I’ve heard about the love you and Amanda have for each other. That’s why you need to find her. She’s probably out there somewhere waiting for you.”
He hardly flinched at the sincerity of her words. She was beginning to see the hopelessness of convincing him or anyone else of her cataclysmic experience. “My name is Morgan Hayes,” she said wearily, “and I’m from another time...the year 2011.”
“We both know you are an atrocious liar.” A smile tugged at his lips and his hands fell to her shoulders. “You listen to me now. Your father’s people are forgiving and their love for you is deep. If you leave with me, they will understand.”
She shook her head. “I’m sorry.” ~ within Chapter 4
He set his mouth full upon hers before she could say another word. A few men guffawed at their lord’s actions, but most were intent on finishing their meal and seeking out their own mate.
Derek’s eyes glimmered with mischief as he pulled away. “Oh, ‘tis only you.”
She elbowed him in the ribs. “You think you’re funny, do you?”
“Aye, that I do.”
“Well, I was going to tell you that I missed you, but never mind now.”
Derek shrugged.
Morgan frowned. There was something insufferable about a man being so arrogantly cocksure of himself. “So you don’t care whether I missed you or not?”
“‘Tis written all over your face. What need do I hath for you to speak of it when it is as clear as rainwater that you pined for me?”
“I didn’t pine for you, I...” ~ within Chapter 10
