"Calling the Play" [Birmingham Rebels Series, Book 2] by Samantha Kane
Author's Book Description : Samantha Kane's Birmingham Rebels series—perfect for fans of Shayla Black and Lexi Blake—proves that three's never a crowd . . . at least not for the hard-bodied football all-stars who give teamwork a sexy twist.
Quarterback Tyler Oakes plays hard and parties even harder. That reckless lifestyle nearly derailed his career, and now the Birmingham Rebels are Ty's last shot at football immortality. But staying out of trouble can take its toll—especially for a man with a taste for girls and guys. Because curvy, gorgeous Randi McInish is just the kind of trouble he'd like to get into.
A tough-as-nails undercover cop, Randi meets her match in Ty. After they get wrapped up together in a drug bust and a high-speed car chase, Randi's eager to take the notorious bad boy for another wild ride. Turns out Ty already has something in mind. When he introduces her to the Rebels' sexy new quarterback coach, things start heating up a little too fast for Randi.
Brian Mason coached Ty in college, and boy do they have history together. With Brian taking control on the field and in the bedroom, they were an unstoppable team. But Brian, blindsided by love, ran from his feelings for Ty. He won't let Randi make the same mistake. Both men agree they need more than each other. They want a woman they can share. And when they make a pleasure play for Randi, all three are sure to score.
"Calling the Play" is intended for mature audiences.
My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!! Tyler (Ty) is the Quarterback for the Birmingham Rebels, one of the NFL’s newest franchises, and is still dealing with his past. Yet one night at a grungy bar changes Ty’s plans for good when he meets Randi, an undercover cop, and unintentionally assists her in busting a drug deal. Randi and Ty have a whirlwind “relationship” that changes when Ty’s ex-lover Brian (the one who got away) comes back into Ty’s life. What all three of them soon realize is that choosing between themselves isn’t an option, but making something work between them all might be the best plan yet.
OMG! This novel is hot Hot HOT!!! I LOVED all of the characters from Ty, Randi, and Brian to the rest of Ty’s teammates! They were all quite funny and I adored their playful banter. Yet, this novel wasn’t all about sex, Randi deals with heavy stuff and the way all three work through it made me enjoy it all the more! Together these three make a great team and I’d love to read more about them!
Exciting! Fun. Silly. Erotic. Charming. Sweet! Tough … these are just a few words to describe why I fell in love with this novel and its wonderful characters! I couldn’t get enough!
ALSO, while I have book 1 for this series I still have yet to read it … THEREFORE I can say wholeheartedly that this novel can be read as a standalone!
I HIGHLY recommend this novel to those looking for an erotically charged contemporary romance!

Book Teaser(s) :
They needed to get over this 'just football' thing. Because there was no way Randi wasn't going to be the girl filling in that sandwich. The sexual tension between them was thick enough to choke on, but it seemed to her they weren't going to get anywhere without a little divine Randi intervention. So if she had to lead them to each other through her, who was she to argue with that? She was more than a little sad that her time with Ty was going to end sooner than she'd like, but she wasn't going to come between him and Brian, not when they had history and obvious feelings for each other. A girl could dream, but she didn't have to be a bitch about it. She was still on Ty's side, but she could see Brian's side of things, too. Hadn't she thought the same things he'd talked about today, that Ty would move on? Guys like Ty didn't stay with girls like Randi. She guessed that left for guys like Brian, guys who were gorgeous, successful, confident, and sincere. ~ within Chapter 9
