"BECOME" [Desolation Series, Book 1] by Ali Cross

My Book Summary : Desolation (Desi) lives in Hell with her father, Lucifer, trying to not Become (turn into her true self) for as long as she can remember as it's exactly what her father wants. In addition, even though she is the daughter of Lucifer there is a part of her she has hid away from him and his minions (a part that's good) so they couldn't use it against her. However, even though she isn't the same as her father, she likes Hell a lot more then Earth. Therefore, when she is sent back to Earth to face the good she fears and the evil she's grown up around there is nothing more that she'd like to do then find a way to get back home.

Not long after being back on Earth, Desi is forced to Become. Soon afterwards, her life and everything she thought she knew about herself changes, making her question everything she knows. However, when she finally finds out everything is she going to want to become something better then she once was?

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! This is a wonderful YA novel that takes on the typical theme of angels vs demons (or good vs evil) and turns it into something new, then throws in a girl who's right in the middle of the fight and has the ability to decide which side will win. It's an addicting novel and I can predict it'll be an addicting series too. There were tons of twists that I didn't expect, especially since I never knew where this book would go.

Desi is a great character who I'm curious to see how she'll grow within this series. I wish there was more of Michael in this novel, but hopefully there will be more of him in the second novel. The rest of their "gang" I'm curious about since they could really go either way.

I recommend this for anyone who really enjoys YA paranormal (possible romance) books!!

My Review(s) for Blog Tour de Troops : Cinderella's Secret Diary (Book 1: Lost) | Scent and Shadow | BECOME

Book Teaser(s) :
Staring at the mirror, I concentrated on sticking my unruly hair into a ponytail with shaky hands.
Not good, not good, not good. This was so not the way I foresaw my first day of school.
Late, no makeup, stupid hair, and with the smell of James all over me.
With one last glance at the full-length mirror, I saw all I needed to see—I wasn’t just a normal girl, after all. Everything I’d Become radiated as if I had a blinking neon sign above my head.
Murderer.
Harlot.
Depraved.
Remorseless. ~ within Chapter 9
I knew the second Michael entered the room. The air grew heavy, warm, maybe even a little sultry. Noise faded away until the voices of the students sounded like a distant hum, and all I could hear was my heart beating. Though I kept my eyes glued to the desktop, I knew he stood at the front of the class for a moment, likely staring at me, waiting for me to look at him. But I didn’t. I wouldn’t. ~ within Chapter 14
