My Book Summary : Jemma has always known that she was adopted. However, she is about to realize that her life will be forever changed once her past comes to haunt and hunt her ..... literally!

It starts out that she decides to finally seduce her best friend, Griff, which turns into one hot night of passion, but by the next morning her life and heart will be forever changed. Since the sex they have unlocks her witchy powers and turns into a beacon for an angry dead Voodoo Queen that seeks nothing but Jemma's death and world domination.

To top all that off, along with learning how to defeat a very powerful and dead Voodoo Queen, the guild of witches want to separate Jemma and Griff as they say their relationship is "illegal." Will Jemma be able to deal with all of these new changes while being able to keep herself and those she loves alive?? And if so, can Griff and her be able to prove to everyone that they are meant to stay together??

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! This is an addicting story about a woman who comes into her destiny in a way she would never have expected. Jemma and Griff make a great pair from their friendly banter to their steamy sex scenes!! Plus I really liked the aspect of reading about witches and their "familiars," since I'm not used to reading about that sort of thing it was interesting doing so.

So, I recommend this book for all of those who like reading about witches learning their craft, voodoo queens trying to take over the world, and/or best friends taking their relationship to the next level!!

FYI -- There are some HOT m/f & m/f/m scenes!!!

Made the Grade: Baby Times Three Series, Book 2

"Maybe My Baby" [Baby Times Three Series, Book 2] by Victoria Pade

My Book Summary : Emmy has recently been promoted to becoming the director of a grant foundation (that she's been working at for years) and is now dealing with part of the job that her predecessor kept complaining about, checking out the locations who are requesting the grants. Her first location to check out for possible grant funding is in the middle of Alaska, where she will be for a week and meets the main doctor, Aiden. Aiden who is her age (instead of in his 70's or so like the men at her job), dangerously handsome, and charming .... it would be easy for her to fall for him. Except that she needs to keep her head in the game (aka her job), that means no fraternizing with the the sexy doctor or with the mysterious cute baby that recently arrived on Aiden's doorstep. However, as the days go by, it's hard to stay away and detached from this charming man and cute baby boy for long, so what will she do when it's time for her to leave??

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars ... this is a cute story about a guy and a girl, each hurt from their past relationships by similar situations, who try to do their jobs but when they are in such proximity to each other 24/7 for a week straight anything can happen ... and it does!!

The ending of the book --- wasn't my favorite --- it was going so good then it completely dropped ... then it was like Emmy suddenly had a "AH HA" moment I guess. So, I dunno ... the ending just could have been better.

All in all, though, the book was good. I'd recommend it to those that like the "soft" type of romance books!

Emmy and I are following the handsome doctor, Aiden, of Boonesbury, Alaska, around to his out-of-town patients to see if what Boonesbury qualifies for the grant that Emmy has access to. As well as watching the sparks that are between Emmy and Aiden.

"The Ruby Kiss" [The Magic Knot Series, Book 3] by Helen Scott Taylor

My Book Summary : Nightshade is a Nightstalker fairy, a type of vampiric fairy, whose major goal in life is to free his little brother from ever having to become a pawn their father can use.

Ruby is half-human and half-(some kind of) fairy. Growing up her mother was obsessed with using Ruby to find Ruby's father again to be with him and now, years after her mother has passed away, she would like nothing more than to forget what her mother taught her about her father and his world, as she just wants to be normal.

One night they meet in unexpected circumstances. However, Ruby is very cautious about anything to do with the fairy/mystical realms and doesn't want to get close. Nightshade takes it personally and decides to leave her to continue with his personal quest against his father. Nevertheless, a few days later, when Nightshade realizes that Ruby is getting pushed into being used for her power by her father he vows to protect her. Especially when both of them seem to be drawn to each other, this seems to be a good thing. But when more than one-person wants Ruby for their personal gain, will Nightshade be able to keep his vow or will others keep them apart?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! For being the first in this series for me to read, I'll admit to now being hooked!! This novel has so many twists that you can never be sure of just where the story will take you. Then on top of that there are multiple back stories all mixed into this one, too make you keep guessing about what will happen in the next book. (Talking about the next book---I wonder who it'll be about as this one lines you up for at least three more possible books. I think at least.)

About the Characters:
• Nightshade is so sweet (in his own domineering way) and sensitive you can't but hope for everything to work out for him, especially when it seems everything is against him.

• Ruby is one hell of a woman! I have never, until now, read of a girl fitting her description playing the heroine before ... and I have to say I'm impressed with the author's decision since it really worked. Plus you gotta love the strong independent woman with the heart of gold routine! *wink*

• I do feel bad for Aila and Devin. I hope they'll have a book of their own where everything will work out for them. *crossing fingers*

• I agree with Ruby when she says that Troy is a psycho!! Even if he gets nicer at the end, or even if he gets his own book at some point to make me think better of him, I think I'll stick by that statement.

• Poor Twister. I really liked him as a character and I hope he'll find someone soon!!

All in all it's a wonderful novel and I think you (and me if I read more of them) will really enjoy this series! I recommend it to anyone who likes adult fantasy romance novels!!
