"Expecting The Earl's Baby" [Summer Weddings Series, Book 1] by Jessica Gilmore

Author's Book Description : Claiming his heir!

It was the most incredible night of her life, but Daisy Huntingdon-Cross never expected to see her Valentine fling again. Except six weeks later Daisy's world is turned upside down—she's pregnant! She just needs to tell the father…

Yet the man she knew as "Seb" has a few revelations of his own. He's Sebastian Beresford, Earl of Holgate—he doesn't just work at Hawksley Castle, where they met, he owns it! And with Daisy's news, Seb's determined to claim his heir…starting with a wedding!

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! About six weeks after they first meet Daisy is back at Hawksley Castle in hopes of seeing Seb (Sebastian) and informing him that she's pregnant with his baby. After the shock wears off Seb surprises Daisy by asking her to marry him for the baby's sake. From that point on, they realize that what they both thought they needed in their lives in terms of a relationship and love was an illusion. Yet while they start to find happiness in each other will they be able to get around their defenses in order to see what they truly want is right in front of them?

This was an incredibly sweet novel about finding love in unexpected places. Seb and Daisy both come from well-known families but they both took their upbringing and lives dealing with journalistic scrutiny in different directions. Seb now tries to avoid publicity while Daisy deals with it and tries to see the positive sides to it. Together they find that they're able to balance each other out if only they'd be willing to lighten their loads with one another. I really liked them as a couple and I enjoyed how this novel's plot flowed so seamlessly.

I recommend this novel to those looking for a sweet contemporary romance!

Book Teaser(s) :
The door swung open. Slowly. Daisy inhaled and held her breath.
Would he remember her?
Would he believe her?
A figure appeared at the door. She exhaled, torn between disappointment and a secret shameful relief. Unless Seb had aged twenty-five years, lost six inches and changed gender this wasn't him. ~ within Chapter 1
Slowly he moved behind her, slipping an arm around her waist to rest on her still-flat stomach. 'They came after you though.' His voice was hoarse.
'We'll just teach the baby not to go out and get drunk in the middle of London when he or she is sixteen. And if it gets my beauty and your brains we should be okay as far as schooling goes.'
'The other way round works just as well. Stop putting yourself down, Daisy. Academic qualifications are meaningless. I think you might be one of the smartest people I know.'
Her hand came down to cover his, a slight tremor in the fingers grasping his. 'That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.'
'I mean it.' ~ within Chapter 7
