"Her Baby, His Love" [Charity, Montana Series, Book 1] by Lynne Marshall
Author's Book Description : All Taylor Clark ever wanted was a normal life and a traditional family, but so far she’s had neither. Soon after discovering that her boyfriend was secretly engaged and she moves to Charity, Montana for a fresh start, she realizes she’s pregnant. As her new friendly and sexy landlord helps her settle in, they become friends, although Taylor has to keep reminding herself to keep her distance. The last thing she needs is to start something new.
As an ex-con, Joe Collins knows a little something about fresh starts. Despite his determination to keep his head down, he can’t ignore Taylor’s natural beauty or obvious vulnerability. In short time, a tentative friendship blooms along with something more precious—trust.
When Taylor’s ex comes to town, he threatens everything that Joe and Taylor have built together. Joe steps up to care for and protect her, even though he risks losing more than the woman he loves.
My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars, Taylor (Free Spirt) thought she had a great life until a coworker shows her a newspaper clip that informs her that her current boyfriend got married to someone else that previous weekend. So, while being mad as all hell, she flees him and where she was living to move on to Charity, Montana. There she starts a new life and enters into a small town community that takes helping out one another to an extreme. Yet, she can’t help but be drawn to the town’s charming gardener even though he’s an ex-con. Then her life takes another unplanned turn, will she be able to get her life back on track or will everything be taken out of her hands for good?
I loved the premise of this novel, which is why I stuck with it even though I struggled to get through it at times. Nevertheless, I found this novel sweet and was charmed by Joe and the delightful town that Taylor had moved too. It was very creative how Ms. Marshall took on Taylor and Joe’s lives and getting to see how they overcame everything that was thrown at them. It was the main reason why I was able to root for them as they go through their struggles while watching their relationship grow and seeing them get closer together.
All in all, it was a very sweet romance that I would recommend to those wanting a unique contemporary novel to read.

Book Teaser(s) :
The streetlights cast an amber, gauzy glow over the path and Joe wondered if the hauntingly beautiful female at his side was just an apparition. He reached over and tugged on her sleeve to test.
"Yes?"
"I'm just checking if you're really there." By accident he touched the skin, softer than he'd imagined, beneath her sleeve, and the sensation drove deep.
Taylor tossed him a quick look of surprise, and then another. She was so damn pretty.
"You look like a dream, is all I'm saying." He wanted to explain more, to give her a clue how much she affected him, but saying that could be dangerous.
Though dark out, he could see her expression subtly change.
She surprised him by grabbing his arm and giving him a firm squeeze. "You feel real enough to me."
"Oh, I'm the real deal all right." ~ within Chapter 6
The guy was a prince of an ex-con. Maybe it was time to risk trusting a man again, that was if he was willing to take a chance on her. ~ within Chapter 10
