"Race of Love" [The Remingtons Universe Series] by Melissa McClone
Author's Book Description : Harboring secrets has jeopardized Bree Winthrop's spot on the US Ski Team. She's lost her focus and drive to win. Her only hope to remain on the team is Riley “Ry” Guyette–the one man she doesn't trust. Bree must let go of the past if she wants to keep her dreams alive.
Ry knows what it's like to crash and burn after a ski accident sidelined him from competition two years ago. But his coach wants Ry to help a teammate regain her focus and competitive edge. Too bad he hasn't spoken to Bree in six years–six very long years.
Bree and Ry face a mountain of struggles. Will they be able to learn that forgiveness isn't the steepest slope they must conquer?
Race of Love is a stand alone novella that's part of Melissa Foster's The Remingtons Kindle Worlds. Characters from Foster's Slope of Love appear in Race of Love.
My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars!! Six years ago, one stupid moment ruined any possible friendship between Bree and Ry (Riley). Now, years later, they have grown up from who they use to be but life has dealt them a hard hands and Ry comes back to assist Bree so she can get back into the sport they both love. Yet, what is plaguing Bree isn’t a secret she can really share without ruining the lives of those around her too. Ry does find a way though and as he starts to help, their lives change again but will this new change be beneficial to them both or hurt them more?
Though I had never stepped into/read Melissa Foster’s Remingtons Series or Kindle World before, Melissa McClone’s novella was so good and memorable that knowing the world did not matter. When I started this novella, I was unsure what to truly expect but it soon captured my attention with its sweetly dynamic characters. This novella reeled me in and made me want more about this intriguing couple.
Oh my goodness ... I LOVED Ry and Bree together. Their “beginning” six years before was quite silly to have gotten mad about for so long but since Bree had a huge crush on the guy at the time, was only 18 years old, and Ry was really arrogant back then; I guess it could be understandable. Yet, it was how they come back together and Ry gets Bree to open up that made me start rooting for their relationship. They have an undeniable connection that made their romance intense but kind of allows you do gloss over both of their harsh edges too. In addition, the personal growth they both have in a span of a week is so wonderful! All I can think of saying about them is saying, “Awwwwwwww!!!” They're just so sweet together and their banter was fun to read too.
I am curious about Bree’s family, as this novella really focuses all around them. I want to know more. Also, I’d be interested in reading about Bree’s five older brothers and am wondering if there are any books about them anywhere. 🤔
I recommend this novella to anyone who is a fan of Melissa Foster’s “Slope of Love” and/or those wanting to read a quick enjoyable contemporary sports romance.

Book Teaser(s) :
His kiss changed. Slowed. Softened.
He backed away, stared at her with awe, exactly how she was feeling, as if she'd skied another race and won. Her lips tingled, wanting another kiss. Lots more. ~ within Chapter 7
