"When In Texas" [Blame it on Texas Series] by Lynda Simmons
Author's Book Description : Jenna Scott loves the open road, solo camping and feeding people. A self-taught chef and lifelong vegetarian, she can’t wait to open her first restaurant and prove that you can make friends with salad. But in Clifton Texas?
Rancher and retailer, Alex Barclay, knows Texans live for steak and brisket. But kale and quinoa? Not so much. While the vegetarian is about as cute as a woman can get, she’s also more than naïve about her business prospects in Clifton. But she has the right to fail anywhere she likes.
The town’s elder statesman disagrees. As far as he’s concerned, Jenna is the next natural disaster to hit cattle country. An insult to ranchers and a menace to the Texas economy.
When he takes a hard line against Jenna, refusing to rent her the space they agreed upon, Jenna is left with spoiling supplies, broken dreams and nowhere to go. Alex’s sense of fair play won’t let him stand back and do nothing. His brother runs a café inside Alex’s store, a space which will be empty for two more weeks until his brother gets back from France. Knowing it will turn a lot of folks against him, Alex offers to let Jenna open a pop-up restaurant in the café anyway. Two weeks to prove that statesman wrong. To show the town that kale and quinoa can indeed live happily ever after with steak and brisket.
Jenna can either accept Alex’s help or get back in her camper and drive, letting that narrow-minded statesman win. A pop-up isn’t what she planned, but Jenna has never been the type to back down from a fight. And for the first time since she can remember, the open road is not as appealing as the cowboy who wants her to stay.
* The Blame it on Texas Series is a Kindle Worlds series based in the universe of Carolyn Brown's "Long, Hot Texas Summer" and "Daisies in the Canyon."

Race of Love is a stand alone novella that's part of Melissa Foster's The Remingtons Kindle Worlds. Characters from Foster's Slope of Love appear in Race of Love.
My Book Review :4 out of 5 stars!! Six years ago, one stupid moment ruined any possible friendship between Bree and Ry (Riley). Now, years later, they have grown up from who they use to be but life has dealt them a hard hands and Ry comes back to assist Bree so she can get back into the sport they both love. Yet, what is plaguing Bree isn’t a secret she can really share without ruining the lives of those around her too. Ry does find a way though and as he starts to help, their lives change again but will this new change be beneficial to them both or hurt them more?

"The Governess Was Wanton" [The Governess Series, Book 2] by Julia Kelly: 5 out of 5 stars!!! He's handsome, smart, and kind with a roguish streak the only seems to come out around her. "Shadow of a Girl" by Shannon Greenland: 5 out of 5 stars!!!! "Royally Roma" [The Royals Series, Book 1] by Teri Wilson: 5 out of 5 stars!! After feeling beaten down by his own royal responsibilities, Niccolo (Nico/Mano) the heir to the Lazaretto throne decides on escaping his gilded cage by pretending to be someone else when he meets Julia. Julia is an American tour guide living in Rome, who is running from her own notorious past and is in the midst of pulling her life together when she meets Niccolo. Their attraction is instantaneous and is blooming into something more by the minute. Yet when Niccolo’s “quick getaway” turns into something a whole lot more and into a bigger fiasco then he originally planned, will he still be able to go back to his “real” life after all is said and done; or will he be able to change his life for the better with the help of Julia by his side?
Okay truth time … this novel is said to be a modern retelling of the classic Audrey Hepburn film ‘Roman Holiday,’ and though I have heard of it I have never watched it so I really didn’t know what it was about. Yet I can definitely say I was not disappointed in the least as I was hooked by Chapter 2. [Read more of Jess' Review and TWO TEASERS for this novel HERE]
"Undeniable" [The Always Series, Book 3] by Cherie M. Hudson: 5 out of 5 stars! Yes, Caden loves his cousin like a brother and would do anything he can for his cousin’s family (and has on more than one occasion) but that isn’t the real/only reason he travels whenever he could to San Diego, California during his time off from his university in Australia. The real reason is because of his cousin’s sarcastic, snarky, big hearted sister-in-law Chase (Chastity). He has been in love with her from just about the beginning of their “relationship” now he just has to prove it to her any way he can. But while Chase tries to keep him at bay others conspire against them, will Caden’s actions be enough to win her heart for good or will he fumble up any chance they have of being together?
I really liked this contemporary new adult romance that is written in a diary style kind of way. It was easy to follow along (as this is the first novel from its Always Series that I’ve read) and I enjoyed how it gave the reader a way of viewing/learning about Caden and Chase’s thoughts on WHY they did the things they did throughout the novel. All in all... [Read more of Jess' Review and TWO TEASERS for this novel HERE]

From that moment on his life becomes unexpectedly intertwined with Megan, the Director of the animal shelter. Yet, especially with them both being so different, are they ready to try making something of their budding relationship or will fate take the choice out of their hands?

In tradition (well mine at least) of today being ThanksgivingDay (the USA version of it at least ... opps I must be on repeat 🙃), here is a list of ALL the books I've read thus far this year that I've given my highest ratings to, which means I'm VERY Thankful for finding/reading them!! This tantalizing erotic romance is not only steamy it has a great plotline too! Extremely hot because of Sarge's domineering ways, made me just want to read more about Jasmine and him. [Read more of Jess' Review and TWO TEASERS for this novel HERE]

"Bite at First Sight" [Scandals With Bite Series, Book 3] by Brooklyn Ann: 5 out of 5 stars! All of her life Cassandra has strived to become a Doctor. However, because of her being a woman she has had to learn everything she knows on her own, which is why she finds herself in a cemetery with plans on getting some cadavers so she could start studying the human anatomy. Now with Cassandra embroiled into the vampire world Rafael has a month to find a way to change her into a vampire too or there will be drastic consequences. But with a rebellion on the horizon will they be able to accomplish everything in time or will it be all for not?
A wonderfully dramatic tale set in a historical paranormal world where you’ll find a sweet love story between a progressive woman and a stubborn scarred man. Now that I think of it this novel reminds me a little bit of “Beauty & the Beast.” [Read more of Jess' Review and THREE TEASERS for this novel HERE]
"Hawk's Revenge" [Lone Pine Pride Series, Book 3] by Vivi Andrews: 5 out of 5 stars! The Lone Pine Pride Series, with all of its novels including "Hawk's Revenge," are a spin-off from Ms. Andrews’ Serengeti Shifters Series and while each of the novels are all connected very closely, because of the way the background plot of the series runs, readers can expect them to be stand-alone-ish novels.
For the past four years, Rachel has been a fertility scientist working for the Organization and during that time, she has secretly organized shifters to escape. Six months ago, the Organization became suspicious of her and her relationship with Adrian (Noah/Hawk), a hawk shifter who she was sort of dating and helping her get the shifter escapees further away than they could by themselves. So, for the sake of all her plans and the escapees she allows the Organization to capture Adrian, and in the end herself too. Recently she has gotten Adrian released from the compound but will that personal betrayal between them be easy to overcome? Will Adrian understand why she did what she did to him and go back to save her too? Was what they shared together even real or just a lot of pent up lust? So many questions and lies between them, with so little time will they be able to get the closure they need or will everything fall apart?
"The Virgin Cowboy Billionaire’s Secret Baby" by Lauren Gallagher: 5 out of 5 stars!! About a decade ago, Matthew (Matt) and Dara--two best friends--were there for one another during the worst time of Dara's life when she was dealing with cancer treatments and deciding to freeze some of her eggs/embryos with the help of Matt. After that, they both grew apart first because of a stupid fight, then life just swept them onto different paths. Now both are living back in their hometown and even though Dara is in the middle of a divorce she has news for Matt, she's pregnant from the embryos they created years ago and is curious if he would be willing to actually be a father to the life he created now that her ex-husband is out of the picture. Matt agrees and so their friendship begins again like they were never apart. Yet, if it was only them, everything would be fine but with both their families hating one-another over a generational feud and with a gossipy town contend with, it's them against the world .... but will it bring them closer together or further apart?
This novel is so erotically sweet that I could not get enough and was wishing for a Matt of my own. I loved how Dara and Matt dealt with their relationship before and after they had sex. [Read more of Jess' Review and THREE TEASERS for this novel HERE]
"Rock Me Two Times" [Rock Band Series, Book 1] by Dawn Ryder: 5 out of 5 stars!! This plot was a typical one for a rockstar romance…
Rockstar meets woman who excites and challenges him. Said rockstar hooks woman to go on tour with him. They fall into a relationship that neither expected. Yet, the Band’s manager doesn’t like their relationship and sets out to destroy it at all costs.
…Like I said, it’s a typical plot. However, the all the characters were mesmerizing from the first page and enticed me to see how everything would turn out and I am SOOO HAPPY that I did! This novel is well worth reading!
"Bear's Secret Baby" [Emerald City Shifters Series, Book 3] by Kit Fawkes: 5 out of 5 stars! Shayla is looking for a way to save her (few week old) niece, Aislinn, and she’s at her wits end. The doctors have all basically given up on her, so now Shayla decides to take Aislinn to Aislinn’s father in hopes he’ll have an idea in how to help. Yet in doing so opens up more questions than answers. Will they be able to trust each other enough to overcome Aislinn’s problem and become a family of sorts? Or will outside forces tear their family apart even more?
With this being a short story/novella, I really liked how its setup and flow was written. It has an intriguing premise too that made me feel that for it being a paranormal romance it was plausible in its execution. [Read more of Jess' Review and TWO TEASERS for this novel HERE]
"Bad Kitty" [Chronicles of the Malcolm Series, Book 2] by Teresa Noelle Roberts: 5 out of 5 stars! On the run from a few assassins, Xia and her Malcolm crew “family” take refuge on a crime-ridden planet with its warlord Rahal. While Xia’s instant attraction to Rahal is undeniable, what really surprises her is their chemistry and how she is willing to do spend more than one night with him. Yet it’s not only Rahal that has stolen her attention, an arms dealer called Karn “the Viking” Anders has too.
Karn’s actual name is Cal and whose job is private law enforcement is going after Xia because of a job to reunite her with her relatives. However, as Cal gets more involved with Xia and Rahal he comes to realize that he can’t fulfill his contract but even so how will he be able to tell the truth to the two people who are starting to mean more to him than anything or anyone else?
As the three of them deal with their unexpected relationship and the threats against them, they find that they’ll need to overcome the lies that unintentionally brought them together. Or will everything fall apart on them?
This novel is Soo FUN … it would be hot and erotic one minute than have me laughing at Xia, Cal, & Rahal’s quirky antics the next. A thrilling read in more than one ways, I didn’t want to stop reading about this wonderful character match up! [Read more of Jess' Review and FOUR TEASERS for this novel HERE]

"The Natural History of Us" [The Fine Art of Pretending Series, Book 2] by Rachel Harris: 5 out of 5 stars!! It had always been Peyton’s plan to attend Fairfield Academy (instead of being homeschooled) once she reached her Freshman year of high school. However, coming down with an unexpected illness not long before she began the school year definitely was not in her plan. Therefore, she begins at Fairfield Academy once she is in recovery during the middle of her Freshman year, which is the same day she meets Justin (all-round Fairfield Academy hottie, player, and baseball player). They come from completely different worlds but they are drawn together and fall into a sort-of relationship quickly. Yet, when things get tough, Justin makes a plan to brake them up. Yet, though Justin’s plan works and he goes back to his player ways, he regrets it more than anything else. So, during the last month, or so, of their Senior year when Peyton and Justin get thrown together for a school project Justin plans on laying it all on the line to win Peyton back for good. But will he be too late?
"Under Her Skin" [Shifter Shield Series, Book 1] by Margo Bond Collins: 5 out of 5 stars!! Even though she grew up in a loving home, being a weresnake with adoptive human parents, Lindi has always felt like she was missing something. Nevertheless, she grows up to develop her natural abilities to help out children suffering from violent crimes to be their councilor. During one of her on the job outings, she meets a little girl who is a shifter too who realizes what Lindi truly is, which brings Lindi to find out that there are more shifters out there than just her. Yet, when she gets more involved in the “shifter world” Lindi realizes that who she is, a weresnake, is something that most shifters fear and feel they should be killed immediately. Instead though Lindi travels a rocky path between learning about her new life, assisting the shifter world to find an actual child killer who has access to her own case files, and falling into an unintentional relationship with someone who is suppose to be her “sworn enemy.” Will she be able to embrace a life she may not be ready for? And if she can, will she be able to “win over” the shifter world in order to stay alive for good or at least long enough to help out?
It’s been a long time since I read a novel written entirely in the first person POV, and I liked it. I was enraptured with this novel from the beginning from learning about how Lindi grew up with her adoptive family to how she copes with learning her new skills about her snake-half after finding out about the shifter world. "Bedded Bliss" [Found in Oblivion Series, Book 1] by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott (aka Taryn Quinn)
Author's Book Description : A hot night in Vegas is just what the rockstar ordered…until someone ends up married.
Michael Shawcross is living the dream, opening up for his idols, Oblivion, on his band Warning Sign’s first tour. Until an overzealous fan goes too far and his hard-partying ways catch up to him in the form of an ultimatum from his manager, Lila Crandall.
Clean up your image—or else.
Single mom Chloe Adams is in Vegas for a rare girls’ night out. She wasn’t ever supposed to be attracted to another rockstar. In fact, she’s in rockstar rehab, and the cure for her addiction definitely isn’t a sexy, smart-assed guitarist with wicked fingers.
She never expects to accidentally end up his wife. Or to have her new husband suddenly decide that she’s the solution to all his problems. And surprise…he’s happy to show his appreciation in a number of interesting, inventive ways.
Pretending their marriage is real might just be the hottest proposition she’s ever been given.
But what happens when a lie becomes the truth?
My Book Review :5 out of 5 stars!! Two acquaintances meet up unexpectedly in Vegas. After a night of partying and heavy flirtation they wake up to find they’re married yet have no memory of doing so. Both are from different upbringings and completely different worlds, but because of how he was raised Michael doesn’t want to get divorced and plans on assisting Chloe any way he can so their marriage will work. Will all of Michael’s plans fall into place, making it so Chloe, her son, and Michael can actually be a good family together? Or will others try to keep them apart for good?
This is the first really sweet rockstar romance novel that I’ve read in a while, and I am SOOO HAPPY that I found it! Though I feel that Ms. Quinn & Ms. Elliott need to put together some type of “family tree” for the band (if they haven’t already) just to keep everyone’s backgrounds straight, I did not feel lost at all in this novel and it kept me entertained the whole way through, with an intriguing plotline and characters (main & secondary) to boot!
Both Michael & Chloe are intense and driven people, so much so that they have a hard time listening to one another in the beginning but it makes their banter and their story that much more fun! I loved how Michael pretty much worshipped Chloe. I mean they might not have known each other that well before Vegas but I loved how their relationship came together and how Michael was determined to make a go of them together no matter what. I was charmed! In addition, I adored how the ending played out making it so they had a situation to deal with and to triumph over instead of one of them accidently hurting the other. As I said above, it made me all so happy. *hehee*
I HIGHLY recommend this novel to those looking for an awesome rockstar contemporary romance!
Her wild hair, her seductive movements, and the longing in her eyes were his undoing.
His fucking personal Waterloo.
He hadn't planned on hooking up with anyone tonight. Definitely hadn't expected to be riding a high like this. But the buzz in his blood and the look of her ate at him, tempting him to seek her out for real after the concert ended.
Backstage pass, hell. He'd give her a bedroom pass, then tie her to his headboard right through the next morning.
She could be taken. Possibly even married. Could be a psycho. Damn, she might even be underage. She definitely had that whole schoolgirl thing going on, even with her hot clothes and gyrations. But he didn't care. Oh, he would---later. After.
Jesus, there had to be an after with her or he was going to lose his mind. ~ within Chapter 7 - titled 'Las Vegas'
Being near her was like standing in the path of the sun. As much as he just wanted to bask in her warmth, he needed more. Had to taste every part of her and remind himself that even if none of this made sense, even if it never did, he didn't have doubts when it was just the two of them.
Was it insane? Sure. Absolutely. An insanity he craved.
Maybe that was all he needed to know. ~ within Chapter 22 - titled 'Los Angeles'

What are you all reading lately??
Me? I just finished reading "Impossible" [With Me Series, Book 1] by Komal Lewis last night -- it was good but not as good as I hoped. Anyway ... be sure to check out my full review/giveaway/interview for this novel on Sunday, December 9th!
I hope everyone is having or will have a good day today!
Author's Book Description : College freshman Lucia Ramirez has a secret crush on Dane Monroe. He’s a tall drink of water — blond, brash, and one hell of a volleyball player. ¡Híjole! Lucia hopes her volleyball scholarship to his school will make him notice her.
Too bad what’s noticeable is Dane’s obvious hatred for Lucia. Her family’s politics contradict everything he stands for. And politics are front and center in both their families. Dane’s mother is about to face Lucia’s father in the race for US President.
When Secret Service throws them together, Dane can’t deny his frustrating attraction to Lucia’s athletic curves and sweet faith in the world. Amid the intense pressure of college athletics and presidential politics, can opposites not just attract, but overcome overwhelming odds to be together? Or do their differences block their match from the start?
My Book Review :5 out of 5 stars!! Dane & Lucia (Luz) are in a unique situation. Dane’s mother and Lucia’s father are BOTH Presidential Candidates to become the next President of the United States. And because of a scandal at Lucia’s original college they are now attending the same college on volleyball scholarships. This forced proximity has Pros and Cons, which they end up dealing with along the way, but once Lucia’s true feelings come out for Dane both of their worlds change. Will it be a better change for everyone? That still remains to be seen ...

"Hearts on Fire" [St. Caroline Series, Book 2] by Julia Gabriel
Author's Book Description :Becca Trevor’s life is falling apart. She’s lost her job, her boyfriend’s in jail, and her mother’s quilt shop has just caught fire — with her in it.
To make matters worse, town golden boy Jack Wolfe has returned — looking better than ever ... but can their budding relationship survive the secret Becca’s been keeping for years?
"Julia Gabriel does an amazing job with this devastatingly heartbreaking love story." — RT Book Reviews, Top Pick
Becca never intended to come back to pretty little St. Caroline, Maryland and her family's quilt shop. Growing up, she was the wild child ... and the black sheep of the family ... and the girl who couldn’t get anything right.
And she definitely never intended to see Jack Wolfe again. Those fifteen minutes she’d spent with him at a graduation party seven years ago? Unforgettable—for a whole lot of reasons.
Jack was the golden boy of St. Caroline. Smart, Ivy League-educated, law school-bound. He’s home from California for a family emergency, a situation that would not be improved by the news that he’s not the hotshot corporate attorney everyone thinks he is. If he can keep his real job a secret until the end of summer, he’ll still be golden and no one else will be the wiser.
But Becca has an even bigger secret of her own ... one that will change Jack's life forever ...
The St. Caroline Series
Come to the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and the 300-year-old town of St. Caroline, Maryland. Meet the Trevor family—Michelle, Dan, Becca, Charlotte, Natalie, Cassidy and Lauren—and their popular quilt shop, Quilt Therapy. Across town, the men of the Wolfe family have been the backbone of the St. Caroline fire department for generations—and Tim, Jack, Matt and Oliver are continuing the tradition.
The St. Caroline Series features emotional stories with relatable characters you'll fall in love with, true-to-life problems and triumphs, and sweetly sexy romance that leads to a happy ever after.

My Book Review :5 out of 5 stars!! For a majority of Becca's life she has felt like she has never fit in (though some of it was her own doing) but she tried to make good choices for those around her most of the time. It all led her to keeping a huge secret from her family seven years ago. Now with her life in turmoil again she goes home to make amends. Yet the one person her "big secret" is all about, Jack, sets her life for another curve ball. Could everything finally be turning around for the better now? Or will fate decide to take away all of their options and throw them for a loop too?
Bare with me as I try not to give too much away. But oh my word!! In this novel you deal with loss (in quite a few different forms) while watching the characters deal with continuing on with their lives as their "worlds" fall apart around them. I know that might sound a bit overly dramatic for a contemporary romance novel but it's what this novel portrays Becca and Jack going through.
This was a riveting tale that I could not put down.
