The Books I'm Thankful For (so far) in 2018

In tradition (well mine at least) of today being Thanksgiving Day (the USA version of it at least), here is a list of ALL the books I've read thus far this year that I've given my highest ratings to (5 out of 5 stars), which means I'm VERY Thankful for finding/reading them! Be forewarned though ... because of a major state-to-state move I did in 2017 (which I had actually mentioned in last year's book list too) AND because of my virtual assistant business expanding quite a bit within the past year, ALL of the novels listed below do not have their official book reviews from me posted and promoted yet. Opps ... ain't life fun. πŸ™‚

➡️ So what are you getting out of this blog post you say? Well ... you are getting a glimpse of what my 5 star reads have been this year thus far (as even though their book reviews haven't been posted the first drafts of their reviews HAVE been written), some of my book reviews of these novels/novellas (if the FULL book reviews have officially been posted than they'll be linked), links for you to check out these novels/novellas for yourself, AND for the FIRST TIME ever I have a little video (at the bottom of this post) for you that compiles this list while inviting another BookTuber (ZaqLovesBooks) to share the two novels that she is thankful for this year too.

As requested here are all my 5 star reads listed in the order of when I read them this year:
  1. "Hearts on Fire" [St. Caroline Series, Book 1] by Julia Gabriel: 5 out of 5 stars! For a majority of Becca's life she has felt like she has never fit in (though some of it was her own doing) but she tried to make good choices for those around her most of the time. It all led her to keeping a huge secret from her family seven years ago. Now with her life turmoil again she goes home to make amends. Yet the one person her "big secret" is all about, Jack, turns her life for another curve ball. Could everything finally be turning around for the better now? Or will fate decide to take away all of their options and throw them for a loop too?

Bare with as I try not to give too much away. But oh my word!! In this novel you deal with loss (in quite a few different forms) and... [Read more of Jess' Review and a TEASER for this novel HERE]

  2. "Two Dukes are Better Than One" by Lorna James: 5 out of 5 stars! Since Stone (Cromwell) & Huxley were young, their families have been “mortal enemies” but as they never learned why once they got to know each other in school they found that while they enjoyed the world believing they were enemies in truth they really were best friends. Yet, even though Stone & Huxley enjoyed their shared amusements and women over the years, they’ve fought enough in public that everyone still believes that they are enemies. What will happen when they find a perfect woman for them both to settle down with, and will they really be able to make a long-term relationship work between them?

Though I LOVED this novel, the realities of how they’d be able to maintain a long-term mΓ©nage relationship while maintaining their titles and not having society giving them the cold-shoulder made me feel like this was... [Jess' COMPLETE Book Review will be COMING SOON please STAY TUNED!]

  3. "Montana Maverick" [Big Sky Mavericks Series, Book 4] by Debra Salonen: 5 out of 5 stars!! A woman who is contemplating her future finds, herself assisting the one man (and his family) who she’s been at odds with for a long time. However, what they both don’t realize is that their lives are about to take some drastic turns that they both may not be prepared for ...

Although this novel is completely about Meg (Mary Margaret), the Lone Wolf of her siblings’ childhood group called the Big Sky Mavericks; it also wraps up a lot of the secondary storylines that revolve around her siblings and builds you up for the possible spinoffs. This sweetly spicy novel takes... [Jess' COMPLETE Book Review will be COMING SOON please STAY TUNED!]

  4. "May Flowers" [Wilder Irish Series, Book 5] by Mari Carr: 5 out of 5 stars!! The worse thing that could possibly happen Lochlan (Patrick Lochlan) just did, his longtime secretary, Sally, is retiring and she hired May to replace her, and who could make his perfectly organized world change for good. But will their lives change for the better?

Oh my how I LOVED this novel. Let me count the ways ….. well no … I won’t count them but I will tell you that this is a WONDERFUL novel that had awesome plotlines and characters. In addition... [Jess' COMPLETE Book Review will be COMING SOON please STAY TUNED!]

  5. "A Duke in Need of a Wife" by Annie Burrows: 5 out of 5 stars! Oliver (Duke of Theakstone) is in need of a wife. Someone who would make him a good duchess while, also, being a woman who won’t mind raising the daughter he had just recently heard about. He finds plenty of potential candidates but none peak his interest as much as Sofia does. However, because of Sofia’s own struggles in life, will they really be the best match?

This was a riveting tale that I could not get enough of, as I read it in one setting (8 hours later). Its plot was intense... [Jess' COMPLETE Book Review will be COMING SOON please STAY TUNED!]

I hope you'll find a novel or more that you'd like to read as much as I did! I will say this year surprised me as I read a lot less than I usually do because of all the things I'm trying to upgrade on my blog for you, making it so there were fewer 5 star reads to announce ... yet as usual it's an enticing mix of Erotic, Historical, and Contemporary ROMANCES!

Now without further ado I invite you to watch my corresponding co-op video I've made for this event. 🀩

If you can't see/watch the above video then click here to watch it.

As always I wish you a FUN, DELICIOUS, and ENJOYABLE Thanksgiving! Have a wonderful day and some exciting days ahead! Again please STAY TUNED for my upcoming reviews (the ones above as well as the book reviews scheduled with lower ratings)! Thank you for visiting and if you follow any of my social accounts THANK YOU for doing that too! If you have time please share this book list around. πŸ€—

Best regards, Jess
