My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars! Will Marian & Omar be able to move on from their misgivings to negotiate a good deal or will everything fall apart, just as they try to get their bliss?While I liked this novel's pace, premise, and plot, I had a hard time truly enjoying Marian and Omar as characters. At times, Marian seemed too brash to be enjoyable and Omar played to the "beta hero" role so much that I felt it was hard to like him as a male lead. Though I will admit they made a very good duo. And Marian had just enough forthrightness to get Omar out of his widower self-seclusion.
This was the first novel I've read within this series. And though I did not feel lost, I recommend it to those who are fans of Ms. North's more than anyone else. Yet, as it is a standalone novel, it is also for those who are wanting a steamy contemporary romance.
