"A Baby for Christmas" [The Starr Brothers of Montana Series, Book 2] by Joan Kilby
Author's Book Description : When Mia Tempesta goes into labor during a snowstorm on Christmas Eve, she stumbles into Will Jackson's cherry packing shed. As a war widow, she's lost everything–her husband, her home, and her job. But when Will, a caring stranger, delivers her beautiful baby boy into her arms, she has hope for a brighter future.
After being betrayed and dumped by his long-time girlfriend, Will’s dreading the holidays, but when he helps deliver Mia’s son on Christmas morning, he gains a renewed purpose in life. The beautiful Mia and her child tug on his protective heart strings and he finds himself longing to help. They fight their growing attraction–Will’s on the rebound and Mia is still grieving. Will their reckless passion end in heartbreak?
Can two damaged hearts find healing and happiness? One Christmas baby might just be the miracle they need to love again.
My Book Review : DNF ... another one! 😞😱 I was REALLY enjoying this novel until their relationship took, yet again, a move that brought them closer but also "two more steps back" from where they needed to be and I couldn't take it anymore. I DNF'd it at 67%.
I get that Mia had a LOT to deal with but I wasn't a fan of how it seemed she was using Will because of his affections for her instead of embracing him more. I really hope the ending is a good one but I just couldn't force myself to find out.
Though because of how much I LOVED Will as a character, I DO recommend this novel (and series) to those who are fans of Ms. Kilby and/or those who enjoyed reading her novel "The Secret Son," book 1 within this series.
63% done with A Baby for Christmas, by Joan Kilby: Though I get it I can definitely say ... https://t.co/RoiJoc34Dx

"Oh my God, are you all right?" He put an arm beneath her elbow and helped her inside. "What's the matter? Are you...are you in labor?"
"The baby is coming early," she said, her voice edgy. "I'm not ready. I want it stopped, now!" She bent over, clutching her belly, and let out an animal groan that made the hairs on his neck stand up.
Fuuuuck. "I'll go dig out my truck and take you to the hospital. Here, sit on this hay bale."
He led her to the bale and sat her down but she clutched his jacket with both hands, panic in her eyes. "Don't leave me. I mean it. If you go out that door I'll kill you with my bare hands." ~ within Chapter 1
