My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars, Zoey and her friends continue on fighting against Neferet and other Dark evils ...This novel I read in 2018 and before I could post my “official” review, that review got accidentally deleted (find out the whole story on my blog). Therefore, I leave you with the videos I created while I vlogged my reading experience of this novel (below). In addition, I will say that I wish I had read this novel right after I finished “Awakened” (book 8) back in 2011 as I know I would have enjoyed this novel more and would have felt the need to continue on with this series, even though at that time this novel had not been released yet. While now after reading “Destined” I can’t say I want to read this series anymore.
This novel was very nostalgic for me, as I read started reading this series in my mid-twenties. But now this mid-thirty year old just wants the series to wrap-up nice and quickly but that doesn’t seem to be happening. Also, what parts are wrapping-up in this series (some within this novel) are not going the way I want them too.
Though this novel is still listed as a Young Adult read, I would say the series is turning more into a New Adult series because of what the series includes the characters getting up to .... as it definitely has shown them “getting older” even if their ages haven’t changed much. So, if you are a parent or even a young reader and don’t want to read that or have that being read by someone you are gifting this novel/series too ... please be aware. I do recommend this series to those who are wanting a taste at getting into the New Adult genre while still enjoying Young Adult novels.
Though this novel wasn’t what I had hoped it would be and though I find this series isn’t for me anymore, I WOULD STILL RECOMMEND THIS NOVEL AND ITS SERIES!! 3 Stars for me is a good rating it means I liked this novel even though I might not have totally enjoyed it. In addition, for those who still DO enjoy this series I would recommend this novel because if you are looking for a LOT of twists and turns “Destined” is full of them!
