Every Thanksgiving--since 2011--I put out my Books I'm Thankful For (so far) Book List and in conjunction with this year's book list I asked some of my fellow youtubers if they'd like to join me in this collab video to include what novel(s)/novella(s) they are thankful for reading in 2020. Watch to get some fun book recommendations!
We Are Thankful For Books 2020 Video Collab | From Jess to You Services by From Me to You ... Video, Photography, & Book Reviews
So ... this "holiday" video is a little different because .... I am now aware (more so than ever before) about how Thanksgiving is not really a wonderful holiday to celebrate. HOWEVER, if you are celebrating it ONLY for family traditions and being truly thankful for what you have in life than ... lets celebrate! Therefore, most of the JibJab clips are music videos with our faces attached and while the video's cover has three tiny pilgram hats that is all the pilgrams you will be seeing. Basically what I am saying is WATCH THE VIDEO because it is FOR EVERYONE even those who dislike this American holiday. Watch. Enjoy! Comment your thoughts.
Also ... just to be clear ... though I DO love the song "I am dancing too" I do want it to be known that it was my kids that chose that song because my 9 yr old & almost 7 yr old thought it was hilarious. 😁

Chasing Kat
Hudson River Book 3
by Jacqueline Simon Gunn
Genre: Contemporary Romance
It’s been twelve years since Kat laid eyes on Baxter Adams, her first love, her best friend, the boy who broke her heart. Though Bax shied away from commitments, Kat was the one girl he wanted to know forever, someone he would do anything for. Except date. Then in a moment that ripped both of their hearts out, they ended a friendship they thought would last a lifetime.
Now, Kat believes her past with Bax is finally behind her… until he’s hired at the magazine where she works. At first, they slip easily into their close camaraderie, ignoring events of the past. But is rekindling their old friendship enough? Or is something deeper still between them?
While Bax wants nothing more than to earn back Kat’s trust, blaming himself for the way things ended between them, he has no idea that Kat still harbors guilt for breaking a promise that changed the course of his life. And she never had the courage to tell him.
In an emotional story about long-lost friendships, passionate love and the bonds that endure, will the past that ties them together also tear them apart?
This is book three in the Hudson River series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Hi! So, I am sharing (with permission) two videos that Mahalia from Nerd It This Way! posted on her YouTube/Bookube channel in June 2020. Both videos were of Mahalia with her family (or just her husband) discussing past situations they had to deal with growing up, discussing the Black Lives Matter movement, and more. I truly encourage you to watch all of both videos. Also I appreciate Mahalia and her family for filming and posting these videos as they gave me (a white gal) more insight.
Confession time ... I am not sure what went down on Twitter about Book Bloggers ... and in some ways I am completely happy to be in denial about whatever it was. Yet, I am a book blogger (I have been since this blog began in 2008) and I am a booktuber (I have been since I included "bookish" videos on my youtube channel in 2017) ... therefore I find what Ben is putting together really important.
Yes BookTube is an important venue for Authors, however Book Bloggers have been around for generations and we do not plan on going away. So I truly appreciate Ben of Benreadsbooks & BenReadsBooks trying in bring everyone together in his own way. I did comment on Ben's tweet and no I do not know if or when he'll mention my blog ... or if he'll mention it at all. That is fine. I would love the support but it is not needed. I have come to terms with how much "support" I will get over the years and in truth I get more support from authors than I have from supporters or followers. It is why I do what I do and why I have created a small business in assisting authors the best I can.
Please watch Ben's video below. If you are a book blogger be sure to comment on Ben's tweet too.
In 2018 I featured Lauryn of The Novel Lush's video titled Racist BOOKTUBE DRAMA? Reaction to Entitlement vs Elitism on Booktube and the quote from Lauryn I posted with that video was "We gotta do better.", which truly is still completely relevant today. I find that to be really sad but it is not untrue ... society needs to do better. But to be more specific BOOKTUBE needs to do better too. So, when Lauryn posted this video (the one below) I asked if she would be alright with me featuring here and I am only doing so because she stated it would be okay. Watch it!Watch it ALL.Are you wanting to hear all the spilled tea .... watch it. Are you here because BLACK LIVES MATTER ... watch it. Also, after watching it you should check out these links in support of the BLACK LIVES MATTER too: blacklivesmatter.com & blacklivesmatters.carrd.co

Have you ever wondered what your pets are thinking?
Inspired by true events, this heartwarming story is told from the perspective of Sneakers, a curious cat with serious emotional baggage. Neglected and ultimately abandoned by his original owner, he compensates for the trauma by overeating and making droll observations about the crazy love life of his new owner… who also happens to be a psychologist.
Through paying attention to her work, the loving home she provides and watching her own trials and tribulations, Sneakers learns so much more about life, love and the ways of the world. Both their lives take unexpected turns, both suffer for their own inability to see their inherent worth. But just maybe they can help each other learn the most important lesson of all before it’s too late: If you let it, love can heal even the deepest wounds.
Sometimes you must be willing to take that second chance.
Natasha, of myreadingisodd, started this series--which probably will have more videos on her account at some point--about her recommending horror novels based on iconic Stephen King characters and what she feels they might enjoy reading. For the three videos I have seen thus far within this video series (which you can watch all below) I can wholeheartedly say I love her thoroughness and everything about each video! And that is coming me -- a girl who 90% of the time reads romance, watches horror films with a pillow in front of her face and thus far has only read one official horror novel. 🤣 Yet, with that being said, I do promote ANY kind of novel on here even if it's not what I read. Therefore I give you ... Natasha! 😀
Watch this video! So well stated about Cancel Culture and the major drawbacks of it ... as well as "Book Twitter" in general. I usually, except with CockyGate and "book stuffing" last year, try to stay out of it ... or I hear what others have to say about a certain topic and, because they articulate it better than I ever could, I decide to support them here ... like I am doing with this post. I appreciated what A. G., from A. G. Macdonald, had to say in his video (below) and I'd love to hear what your thoughts on his take with this topic are too.

The second year of graduate school started out as a new beginning. I felt stronger. My heart had stitched itself up. I had finally healed enough on the inside to let love flourish once again. But an ever-present ex-boyfriend made the unresolved emotions between us impossible to ignore.
Then new complications emerged: Said ex-boyfriend began dating Cecilia, who just happened to be the ex-girlfriend of my new love interest. I should have hated her. I wanted to hate her. But, I have to admit, I liked her.
As the semester progressed, the tangled web between us deepened in ways I never could have anticipated, and it spread to those closest to us. We had the same classes, the same friends, the same interests. Then, of course, there were all the secrets, some of which could ruin the love I believed I wanted, I deserved.
Once again, I got pulled into the dizzying vortex of all that remained unfinished. And doubt crept in. Had I really healed enough to make myself vulnerable again? Had I made the right choices?
But the big question is: Can we ever really leave past relationships behind?
This is the second book in the Where You'll Land series, but can be read as a stand-alone.
