Made the Grade: Cowboy Cocktail Series, Book 1

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 714 KB | Expected Release Date: August 25, 2015 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: NetGalley

"Cowboy Valentine" [Cowboy Cocktail Series, Book 1] by Mia Hopkins

Author's Book Description : Forget chocolate and flowers. This homegrown honey is all the sweetness he craves.

Small-town life is nothing but a waiting room for eighteen-year-old honor student Corazón Gomez. Work and school leave little time for love, but with a full-ride Ivy League scholarship and a one-way ticket out of the boondocks, who needs it?

The answer appears on Valentine’s Day when her old cowboy crush ambles into the ice cream parlor where she works, inviting her to go on a late-night ride in his truck. For the first time she wavers between staying on the straight and narrow, and going off-road with the handsome heartbreaker.

After four years working on ranches all over the country, Caleb MacKinnon is back on the family farm helping out his mom and brothers while his father fights cancer. The one bright spot: smart, funny, and wickedly sexy Cora.

From the start, they both know this blazing-hot love affair can’t last. But when autumn comes and Cora has to leave for the East Coast, Caleb must find a solution to keep himself—and his heart—from falling apart.

Product Warnings
Contains hard, cherry-poppin’ sex in a pickup truck and a cowboy charmer who talks dirty in two languages.

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! It all begins on Valentine’s Day when Cora (Corazón) loses her virginity to her high school crush, Caleb. From that night on, they become friends and spend all their free time with one another. However, because Cora plans on going to college in the fall friends-with-benefits is the only thing that Cora wants to be but by the time she has to go away to college will being only friends be enough for either of them?

This raunchily sweet novel warms you up and leaves you with a charming ending. Caleb is one sweet talking cowboy that I would love to have flirting with me. Cora is a good girl coming into her womanhood in many ways. Together they are a sensual couple that you want to root for!

I definitely recommend this novel to those looking for a fast-paced erotic romance!

Feasted On: Sun-Kissed by Sierra Dafoe

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 728 KB | Expected Release Date: June 30, 2015 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: NetGalley

"Sun-Kissed" by Sierra Dafoe

Author's Book Description : Sometimes the power of no is more erotic than the power of yes. Yes. Oh, yes…

All Julia wants is a little rebound nookie to bolster her confidence after her last nasty breakup. She treats herself to a week in Myrtle Beach, but off-season Myrtle Beach isn’t cooperating. Maybe it’s her curvier-than-ideal body — or maybe it’s the shattered self-esteem which leaves her barely able to meet a man’s gaze. Any man’s gaze — even if he seems interested.

Then a disembodied voice begins whispering in her head, a voice as warm and sensual as the South Carolina sun. A voice that sparks an orgasmic explosion the likes of which she’s never experienced.

And when a gorgeous, sun-browned stranger appears—a stranger who mysteriously seems to know everything about her: her past, her pains, and exactly how vanilla she isn’t—Julia finds herself on an erotic one-night ride that will change her life forever…

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars. Julia is a Mainer on vacation in Myrtle Beach with hopes to move on with her life after being in a disastrous relationship. However, it isn't until the last day that her "dream man" proves to her that moving on with her life is exactly what she needs to do...

I knew from not long into this novel that it was not what I typically like to read, a romance. Instead, Ms. Dafoe gives us a motivational (in a way) highly charged erotic women's fiction novel that is full of empowerment and gives you plenty of unique sex scenes to read about. I am a fan of Ms. Dafoe, which is why when I realized my mistake about this novel I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. While Julia isn't the most pleasant of characters, it's understandable in her situation and "Sonny" really helps her embrace life to its fullest.

I recommend it to those who are sexually open-minded while hoping for a lustful read about a woman wishing for a better life who breaks out of her shell and quite a few clothes with help from her "dream man."

Feasted On: At Ease by Olivia Brynn

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 684 KB | Expected Release Date: August 18, 2015 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: NetGalley

"At Ease" by Olivia Brynn (aka Alanna Coca)

Authors' Book Description : Jaycee Hanson has the best seat in the house in Psych 301. Right behind Tyler Johnson, ROTC captain and star of her erotic fantasies. But while lusting from afar, she’s come to one disappointing conclusion. He doesn’t seem to date outside his race.

When an accidental touch near the end of class turns into an impromptu foot rub, the rest of her wet-noodle bones are willing to go anywhere Tyler leads. She just never expected to be led into the nearest stairwell.

Tyler isn’t sure what to make of the smart, beautiful woman in his arms. If he’d had any idea Jaycee was interested in him, he would have made a move long ago. But each time he looked her way, she avoided his gaze.

A blissful afternoon at his place seems the start of something special—until objections to their relationship arise from an unexpected source. Causing Jaycee to wonder if sizzling sexual chemistry is enough.

This book has been previously published.

Product Warnings
Contains a semi-public quickie against a wall, impromptu picnics, and a hero who knows where to draw the line—and it’s not between him and his woman.

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! After months of lusting after one another Tyler and Jaycee follow through on their feelings and see what happens. However, as they quickly get to know each other unplanned for obstacles get in the way, will they be willing to make a big commitment into their budding relationship so soon?

WOW! This erotically charged novella hooks you with its spicy storyline and then reels you in with its heartwarmingly sweet characters! Tyler and Jaycee are a great couple who’s chemistry off the charts. Even though this is a whirlwind romance novella, which only shows a glimpse into the beginning of their relationship, I have a good feeling about them being together.

I definitely recommend this novella to those looking for a hot erotica romance!

"Spellbound" [Warlocks MacGregor Series, Book 2] by Michelle M. Pillow (aka Natasha Logan, Madelyn Porter & Naomi Kalling)

Author's Book Description : Let Sleeping Warlocks Lie…

Iain MacGregor knows how his warlock family feels about outsiders discovering the truth of their powers, its forbidden. That doesn’t seem to stop him from having accidental magickal discharges whenever he’s around the woman who has captured his attention. Apparently his magick and other “parts” don’t seem to care what the rules are, or that the object of his affection just might be his undoing.

Warning: Contains yummy, hot, mischievous MacGregor boys who may or may not be wearing clothing and who are almost certainly up to no good on their quest to find true love.

My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!! All her life Jane has known that she was going to die, because of that she has been distant to others and accepted her fate. Yet, when she meets charming Iain all her best laid plans dissolve and she's left with an unexpected she never imagined before ... a future for herself. Now if only Iain and Jane can prove her worth to the rest of his family everything might just be okay...

Ms. Pillow cast an exemplary spell when she wrote this novel! Funny, thrilling, and destiny finding; this novel was one that had it all. From Jane's mysterious background to Iain dealing with his powers to Iain's family and their quirky ways, I didn't want to put this one down!

I am enamored with Jane and Iain! They're just so cute together. Iain unconsciously stops time to be with her longer. Jane fits into the MacGregors world easier than expected. Add in the slight twisted "Sleeping Beauty" plot and you have a wonderful paranormal romance! I can't wait to see where this series will go next.

I HIGHLY recommend this novel to those who are interested in paranormal and/or fantasy romances!

Book Excerpt :

Jane meets Iain’s family.

“Iain MacGregor,” she whispered longingly, looking up. The woods were quiet. Strips of moonlight shone through tree limbs that reached like surreal black fingertips across her vision. A single tear slid down her cheek. She touched her mouth, imagining his kiss.

Taking a small pocket knife out of her cargo pants, she looked about. A mystic had once told her that if she left pieces of herself around while she lived, it would expand her haunting territory when she died. Jane wasn’t sure she believed in sideshow magic tricks—or the Old Magick as the mystic had spelled it on her sign. She had no idea what had possessed her to talk to the palm reader and ask about ghosts. Still, just in case, she was leaving her stamp all over the woods.

She cut her palm and pressed it to a nearby tree under a branch. Holding the wound to the rough bark stung at first, but then it made her feel better. This forest wouldn’t be a bad eternity.

The sound of running feet erupted behind her and she stiffened. No one ever came out here at night. She’d walked the woods hundreds of times. Her mind instantly went to the creepy girl ghosts chanting by the stream.

“Whoohoo!”

Jane whipped around, startled as a streak of naked flesh sprinted past her. The Scottish voice was met with loud cheers from those who followed him. “Water’s this way, lads, or my name isn’t Raibeart MacGregor, King of the Highlands!”

Another naked man dashed through the forest after him. “It smells of freedom.”

Jane stayed hidden in the branches, undetected, with her hand pressed to the bark.

“Aye, freedom from your proper Cait,” Raibeart answered, his voice coming through the dark where he’d disappeared into the trees.

“Murdoch, stop him before he reaches town. Cait will not teleport ya out of jail again,” a third man yelled, not running quite so fast. “Raibeart, ya are goin’ the wrong way!”

“Och, Angus, my Cait canna live without me,” Murdoch, the second streaker, answered. “She’ll always come to my rescue.”

“I said stop him, Murdoch, we’re new to this place.” Angus skidded to a stop and lifted his jaw, as if sensing he was being watched. He looked in her direction and instantly covered his manhood as his eyes caught Jane’s shocked face in the tree limbs. “Oh, lassie.”

“Oh, naked man,” Jane teased before she could stop herself.

“That I am,” Angus answered, “but there is an explanation for it.”

“I don’t think some things need explained,” Jane said.

Spreading the Word: Seven Brides for Seven Shifters Series, Book 1

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 692 KB | Expected Release Date: June 23, 2015 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: NetGalley

"There's Something About Werewolves" [Seven Brides for Seven Shifters Series, Book 1] by Thalia Eames

Authors' Book Description : Their second chance ignites with a bite.

Lennox Averdeen’s top three worst fears:

1. Anything remotely canine.

2. Finding out she has a secret baby.

3. Running into Garrett Anderson. Former best friend. Heartbreaker.

She pulls a trifecta when she realizes the stray canine and the tween kid hanging around her house are not only one and the same, he’s Garrett’s wolf shifter son.

When Garrett tracks down his runaway son and sees Lennox again, the widowed father’s heart begins to struggle against his self-imposed chains. Plus, just coming into town pits him against the local Alpha, and everything he hates about pack life. The death, the heartache.

Despite her fears, Lennox becomes the boy’s mother in all but DNA. But Garrett? He can hula-hoop with the nine rings of hell. Except the heat of attraction has never died, and there’s only one way to slake their sexual thirst. Make a smoking-hot deal, agree to part as friends…and try to ignore the sound of Fate howling with laughter.

Warning: This book will stop your heart with barks of laughter, breathless drama, dueling heroes, and sizzling sex. Hey, if you can’t beat ’em, howl with ’em.

My Book Review : DNF. Maybe my expectations for this novel were too high. I’m not exactly sure where it went wrong but I by 45% of the way through I had to stop reading it, as I couldn’t put up with it anymore.

While I believe that Garrett and Lennox’s connection is undeniable and I feel like they might be mates, I’m not sure if such a thing as “true mates” are a part of this series, as the mate topic was never discussed within the parts that I read. However, how Garrett could fall in love and marry someone other than Lennox (as they were as thick as thieves at that time) if they were mates baffles me. Though Garrett says he loves his wife (who has now passed away) and believes she was his mate, enough to feel he should never marry again. Basically, I think he's a bit of an idiot not to realize who Lennox is to him. At times Lennox and Garrett’s struggle over their feelings seemed never ending, which was what annoyed me the most.

However, her Grandmother’s antics didn’t help either. I mean the thing about the money, COME ON! That just made me upset and forced me to realize the ridiculousness of situation Lennox got herself into.

Overall, I found it humorous and thought it has potential but I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. I did like the idea of Lennox & Garrett together and Garrett’s son Nox. I hope if you try to read it, you’ll enjoy it more then I did.

"If you wanted to stay here, you should've told me, Grandma."
Gran pursed her lips. "Don't say grandma like it's a curse word. You're the one acting crazy and erratic." She punctuated each word with a stab of her umbrella.
"Losing all your money, getting a concussion, and having to deal with..." Lennox gestured at Garrett and gasped, "...with that would make anyone crazy."
"I'm not a that," Garrett intoned. ~ within Chapter 9

Made the Grade: Ethereal Foes Series, Book 1

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 691 KB | Expected Release Date: June 9, 2015 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: NetGalley

"The Dragons’ Demon: A Dragon’s Dream" [Ethereal Foes Series, Book 1] by Marie Harte

Authors' Book Description : A prank gone wrong throws three unlikely partners together: A demon. A dragon. And an egg.

In the ordinary world, forces are at work which keep the balance of the universe in order. Enter Eve Sinclair, a higher demon with a mission—to sway those souls on the brink of Decision, to push them toward hell, as they are meant to go.

After a prank played by her brothers, Eve finds herself holding the proverbial bag, accused of stealing a precious dragon egg. Worse, it’s a royal egg, as she learns from Ranton, the furious commander of the dragon legion.

Not a creature to have on one’s bad side, Ranton shifts between his human and dragon forms, keeping Eve off-balance and off her game. Normally a master at manipulating males, Eve finds that Ranton is more than a match for her…as is his brother, the new dragon king. In their arms, she’s mere putty.

And soon they’re not only molding her desires, but her heart.

This is a re-release. It originally released September 11, 2007

-- Product Warnings --
Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, ménage a troi, and steamy dragon love.

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! Eve’s (Evie) brothers’ prank her by stealing a royal dragon egg, thereby sending her into the path of Ranton--the commander of the dragon legion--who plans to punish her for her part in the egg’s capture. However, when hearts get involved and the truth is delayed in telling will Eve be able to accept her new fate?

This erotic quick read keeps you entertained while wishing for more! I found the plot to be a quirky but fun read and an interesting lead up for this new series. Eve & Ranton’s connection is undeniable while being a strong force that was exciting to read. However, when reading about ménages I enjoy reading them only when all three are going to have an HEA with one another whereas in this novel while it alludes to a love for each other it’s different. It was that difference that--even though it was erotically sweet--made me bulk a bit in liking the novel as much as I could have.

Nevertheless, I recommend this novel to those looking for a paranormal erotic romance!

Made the Grade: Not Quite Darcy by Terri Meeker

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Paperback - Pages: 274; Kindle Edition - File Size: 745 KB | Expected Release Date: January 6, 2015 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: NetGalley

"Not Quite Darcy" by Terri Meeker

Author's Book Description : How to Woo a Gentleman and Weaponize Dessert

Romance novel junkie Eliza Pepper always thought she was born too late, but now she really is stuck in the wrong time. Tasked with mending a tear in the timeline, she’s trying desperately to fit into 1873 London. But dang it, mucking out a fireplace while looking like the lunch lady from hell is hard.

If she can just keep from setting the floor on fire and somehow resist her growing attraction to the master of the house, she’ll be fine. All she has to do is repeat her mantra: “He’s nothing like Darcy. He’s nothing like Darcy.”

William Brown has always taken pride in his mastery of English decorum, but his new maid is a complete disaster, has thrown his household into chaos…and he finds her utterly captivating.

Though he’s willing to endure extreme physical discomfort to keep their relationship in proper perspective, her arrival has brought out a side of him he never knew existed. And Eliza has an innocently erotic knack for coaxing that decidedly ungentlemanly facet of himself out to play…

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! A historical romance novel fan gets the deal of a lifetime, an offer to travel back in time to help with a "mission"---of which she really knows nothing about---for a short while. Now if she can just obey the rules, especially the biggest one ... not to form any lasting connections and not fall in love.

This was an interesting take on reading about the 'Victorian Era.' I liked that Ms. Meeker held back no punches in not romancing London during that time period, showing how subservient life really was for those who were in those roles. In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it all from Eliza's (Bessie) viewpoint, with her quick wit, it was very amusing the way she described everything around her and how her time-period’s "common phrases" seemed to flummox those around her.

As for William, while I agree he wasn't Darcy, he had such a sweet way about him that once he let out his "inner bad boy" I liked him just as much as Eliza did! Also, it was refreshing for this type of novel to have a hero (William) who was so open to Eliza's eccentricities. They worked well together and it felt like as long as they had on another they could've taken on the world.

Yet, while I liked the ending, I wish it wrapped up a bit "sweeter" or just more fleshed out, I guess. Nevertheless, thus far this has been my favorite time travel novel that I've read.

I recommend this novel to those looking for an intriguing historical romantic dramedy!

Blog Tour - Sunsinger by Robyn Bachar | Interview, Spreading the Word & Gift Card Giveaway

Today I'm turning my blog over to Robyn Bachar, who I interviewed about her novel "Sunsinger," which is the third novel in her Cy’ren Rising Series!!

ALSO -- Be sure to check out Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post to be able to sign up for this blog stop's GIVEAWAY(s)!! [Blog Tour & Giveaway will run from December 29, 2014 - January 23, 2015]

My Q&A with Robyn Bachar :

Jess : What books did you enjoy reading while growing up?

Robyn : All of them. ;-) Among my favorites were Nancy Drew and the Babysitters’ Club series. I also became addicted to Star Trek: The Next Generation books and the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

Jess : Please describe your Malcolm, from "Sunsinger," in one to two sentences.

Robyn : Malcolm is a former slave and a data miner. He accesses information systems through a data jack embedded at the base of his skull, allowing him to search and retrieve data at the speed of thought.

Jess : Which of your characters would you most & least like to invite to dinner, from which book and why?

Robyn : I would invite Mac from the Bad Witch books, because he has awesome cooking skills and would bring a great dessert. I would not want to invite Zachary Harrison from the Bad Witch books to dinner, because that never ends well.

Jess : Please describe "Sunsinger" in 75 words or less.

Robyn : "Sunsinger" is an erotic space opera romance with epic space battles and a f/m/m ménage.

Jess : Is there any differences and/or similarities between Carmen from your "Nightfall" novel and Andelynn from your "Sunsinger" novel?

Robyn : Carmen and Andee are both tough warriors who wouldn’t hesitate to charge into battle to protect their mates. Carmen is an admiral’s daughter, and it was always expected that she would join the Alliance navy and follow in his footsteps. Andee, on the other hand, is the daughter of a Cy’ren lord, and was expected to marry the lord of another house. She learned her combat training in secret, because it is unusual for a woman to be a soldier in Cy’ren society.

Jess : What sparked the idea for "Sunsinger?"

Robyn : From the moment that Lord Degalen arrived in "Nightfall" I knew that he needed his own book, and as soon as Malcolm showed up in "Morningstar" I knew that the two of them needed to be together. Andee is their perfect match.

Jess : What is the most funny thing one of your characters, from "Sunsinger," said or did?

Robyn : Commander Soth has the best lines in the series. (I’m so tempted to do a second trilogy just so he can have his own book.) I think my favorite line of his in the book is in this exchange: “This planet smells funny,” Soth muttered as they emerged from the limo. “It smells like money,” Malcolm replied. “Oh. That explains why I didn’t recognize it.”

Jess : What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write in a novel and why?

Robyn : I love writing the first and second acts. The third act, not so much. I agonize over endings.

Jess : In regards to "Sunsinger," if you could write it all over again, would you change anything about it?

Robyn : I’m fortunate to have a great editor, so I think the book turned out very well.

Jess : Out of all of the secondary characters within "Sunsinger," do you have one or two favorites so far? If so, who are they and can you tell us why?

Robyn : Yup, Commander Soth and Commander Maysen. My muse considers both of them to be good sequel bait. ;-) I have a few ideas on who should keep them in line romantically.

Jess : How many books have you written? Which is your favorite and why?

Robyn : I have nine books contracted with Samhain. I don’t know if I could pick a favorite, because they’re all fun in their own way.

Jess : Do you have any other projects in the works? If so, can you share a little of your current work with us?

Robyn : My next release will be available in March. It’s called "Bite Me," and it’s a snarky, spicy post-zombie-apocalypse f/f/m ménage.

Jess : Do you have a favorite aspect of winter or tradition in your family during winter/New Years season that you’d like to share with us?

Robyn : I’m known for my Christmas cookies. I bake an enormous amount each year, and I give them to friends and family as gifts. I’m not allowed into the family Christmas party unless I bring cookies.

Jess : What cartoon character best represents your personal philosophy?

Robyn : Hmm. I do identify with Ursula from The Little Mermaid, except that I torment my characters instead of mer-people.

Jess : If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

Robyn : It wouldn’t be a very interesting book. Probably something like, "Give Me Coffee or I Start Killing Characters."

Jess : List 3 books you just recently read and would recommend?

Robyn : "Think of England" by K. J. Charles was very good. "Havoc," the second book in the Dred Chronicles by Ann Aguirre was also awesome (it’s a spin-off from her Sirantha Jax series, which was sooooo good). I also recommend "Fortune’s Pawn" by Rachel Bach (which reminds me that I need to read the rest of that series).

Author's Book Description :
Her desire unites them. Her secret could destroy them all.

The sole survivor of the Sunsinger massacre, Lord Degalen Fairren spends his days reading tales of the family he never knew. When a rival house threatens to enslave Cyprena, Galen is forced to pull his nose out of his books and enter into an alliance with House Morningstar, and a dangerous mission to save his world.

    The assassin.

Lady Andelynn Harrow isn’t House Morningstar’s eldest or prettiest daughter, but she is the deadliest. After her father’s murder, Andee must defend her new house and mate—the shy, reluctant Galen—but every battle risks revealing her terrible secret.

    The slave.

Malcolm gets his first taste of freedom when the Cy’ren recruit him to locate the cure to a deadly virus—and feels the burn of desire for Galen, the lord he can never have, and for Andee, who awakens memories of a long-lost first love.

Warning: Contains a blushing, virgin lord, a sexy geek, and an empathic assassin who always brings lube on a mission.

My Book Review :
4 out of 5 stars! Follow Andelynn (Andee) as she uses all of her skills to help protect her new mate(s), prove to Degalen (Galen) that there is more to life then following the old stingy rules, and opens her heart to the possibility of a better future for herself then she originally planned. For this being the first novel in this series that I've read I liked how it could be read as a standalone novel while it still brings in the series' previous main characters in a way that the reader stays up-to-date about them and still staying relevant to the action going on. This thrilling fast-paced sci-fi romance hooks you from the beginning. [READ MY FULL REVIEW]

Book Excerpt :

“Outer door open,” Loren announced.

The ship’s thrusters kicked into full power and the Talon II shot through the portal, spurring the ship’s song from a steady adagio to an allegro. The Talon II turned and accelerated into the nearby ruins for cover as their sensors scanned the ships in orbit. Twenty large ships, and three squadrons of one-man fighters.

“Malcolm,” Galen said, his voice calm but stern.

“Right, right. Infiltrating Syndicate communications network.” Malcolm pinged the orbiting ships, searching for ways past their security. They identified as mercenary ships, each with variations on Syndicate programming. Piece of cake. Malcolm had been cracking Syndicate codes since he was ten years old, even before he’d become a data miner with an uplink jack planted at the base of his skull.

“Enemy fighters have scrambled and are moving on our position,” Loren warned.

“Acknowledged, Lieutenant,” Captain Hawke said. “I’m keeping the weapons’ power diverted to shields and engines. We’ll try to outrun them as long as possible.”

“Morningstar squadron is holding in escort formation,” Andee said. The captain had allowed her on the bridge to monitor the fighters, but Malcolm wished she could have sat with him. Andee had a knack for keeping him calm.

Closing his eyes, Malcolm filtered their conversation out, trusting the crew to their business as he focused on his. He zeroed in on the lead ship as his entry point to their network, and then began picking at its security code like plucking at the strings of a harp, trying to find the right melody.

Made the Grade: True Destiny Series, Book 5

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 684 KB | Release Date: December 16, 2014 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Amazon.com | Originally Found Out About @ NetGalley

"Not Broken" [True Destiny Series, Book 5] by Dana Marie Bell

Author's Book Description : Genre: Paranormal Romance, Menage (M/M/F)
Length: Novella

Three hearts are stronger than the sum of their scars.

Slade Saeter endured centuries of torture, longing for the day could claim Magnus Tate and Sylvia Grimm as mates. Now freedom is his, but nightmares still plague this son of Loki, and he fears his lovers will believe him too fragile to bond.

Always attracted to both sexes, Magnus never thought he could have the woman of his dreams, not when she was broken by his own father, her heart shattered by Thor's infidelities and their ultimate divorce. But Slade’s determination gives him a glimmer of hope.

Never one to let anything keep her down for long, Sylvia has long since healed from her ex-husband’s betrayals. But accepting her own stepson as a bonded mate? While it’ s something she can wrap her body around, her heart is another story.

As three war-weary, damaged hearts slowly find balance among them, they form bonds of surprising strength. But with danger descending upon them with the fury of a Valkyrie, time is the one thing they may not have.

Warning: This title contains explicit sex, graphic language and only two people who know for sure if Slade really is hung like a horse. (They aren't talking.)

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! This novel takes over where "Morgan’s Fate" (Book 4 of this series) left off, based around Slade (Sleipnir-Loki's son) healing with the one mate he's found--Magnus (Magni-Thor's son)--while trying to win over his other mate--Sylvia (Sif-Thor's ex-wife)--with Magnus' help. The love triangle happens in the middle of the constant war going on between Kir (with his followers) against his parents.

This is the first novel I've read within this series so I liked how it kept me in the loop of who's who and what they are up to so I didn't feel lost. In addition, I liked how Slade, Magnus, & Sylvia's relationship grew throughout this novel. Their relationship was sweetly written, yet highlighted with enough spicy scenes to keep you on your toes wanting more.

Another thing I liked was how it touches on all the previous characters so that you are updated with what is going on with them while keeping the pace of the rest of the novel. I'm very interested to see where this series will go next!

I recommend it to those who like paranormal and/or Norse mythology romances!

Slade gently shoved him toward the door. “Now go make sure our other mate can come home.”
“Yes, sir.”
Slade laughed. “I like that. I’ll be herd stallion, you can be one of my mares.”
Morgan, the dick, began choking on his laughter.
“Ass. Hole.” Magnus grabbed hold of Morgan and dragged him toward the door. “Stop corrupting my mate.”
“Me?” Morgan was still laughing as they left the condo. “You have no one to blame but yourself for that one, brother.”
Magnus bit back his grin. No one else, indeed.
And that was just the way Magnus liked it. ~ within Chapter 2
Slade’s eyes went wide, and suddenly Sylvia found herself yanked to her feet along with Magnus. Slade was a lot stronger than he seemed. “Let’s go.”
Magnus was laughing as Slade dragged them into the bedroom. “Whoa there.”
Slade glared at him. “Did you just whoa me?”
Now Sylvia was giggling.
“You did not just whoa me,” Slade muttered, yanking Magnus’s shirt over his head.
“Yes, he did.” Sylvia laughed harder as Slade pushed Magnus down onto the bed.
“You are so going to pay for that.” Slade tugged Magnus’s pants off while Magnus watched indulgently.
“Yes, dear. Whatever you say, dear.” ~ within Chapter 8

This thrilling fast-paced sci-fi romance hooks you from the beginning. In addition, I loved how it was Malcolm that really brought the three of them together in many ways; he is such an absentmindedly sweet character. I'll love to see where Andee, Galen, & Malcolm end up in future novels in this series (if there are any); I like how well they suit each other. =0)

I recommend this novel to anyone who loves sci-fi romances! Especially to those who like m/f/m romances too!

She smiled, and Malcolm was struck again by how pretty she was. Must be a Cy’ren thing, because he'd never seen one that wasn't beautiful, male or female. Galen was beautiful... Malcolm sighed and shook his head. No flirting. He would remember, somehow. Maybe he should write it on the backs of his hands. ~ within Chapter 2

"Lady Andee, did you crash my mate's shuttle?" he asked.
"Technically you crashed it, because you didn't evade that missile," she corrected.
Loren groaned again. "She's going to be pissed."
"Nah. She'll be so happy to see you that she'll forget all about it," Andee assured him.
"I'll buy her a new one," Galen added. "To go with the Talon II." ~ within Chapter 14
