Disappointmentville: Color Me Crazy by Carol Pavliska

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Paperback - Pages: 307; Kindle Edition - File Size: 1590 KB | Expected Release Date: May 26, 2015 | Publisher: Entangled Publishing : Select Contemporary | Obtained: NetGalley

"Color Me Crazy" by Carol Pavliska

Author's Book Description : Never fall for a rockstar…

Julian Wheaton views the world through a kaleidoscope of synesthesia, seeing the colors of every sound he hears. His life as an iconic rock guitarist was a stressful psychedelic trip that nearly destroyed him. Now he’s abandoned the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle for the peaceful sanctity of his recording studio, but when fiery Cleo Compton comes to work for him, she brings chaos with her.

Cleo Compton has had her flings with rockstars – and it’s left her wary and bruised. Julian may have those sexy bedroom eyes and drool-worthy tattoos, but Cleo is determined to keep things strictly professional – until Julian turns out to be every dream she’s ever chased. When he risks it all to hit the road with a band again, Cleo fears he’ll return as the one thing she can no longer abide – a rockstar.

“The characters are so beautifully atypical, the relationships are so breathtakingly flawed, and the journey is so brutally honest that I was caught between never wanting it to end and needing it to just so I could pry the Kindle out of my hand.”- Elizabeth Hayley

“Author Carol Pavliska’s rock star romance debut stimulates your senses with vibrant characters, witty humor, and sizzling sexual chemistry. Warning: Color Me Crazy is a highly addictive must-read!”- Alison Bliss

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars. Cleo’s life is in a rut. She is about to be evicted from her apartment. She’s trying to turn her personal wants into something more mature, like instead of lusting after hot bad boy rock star guitarists (as she’s been doing since she was a teen) she decides to date a starchy young lawyer who works with her father. And she’s hoping to land a job soon. However, by a slight twist of fate she gets a job and a new place to live with a best friend hers brother. A brother who just so happens to be a music studio-owning, guitar playing, ex-rock star, will Cleo be able to keep course on reforming her life or will old ways cause her trouble?

I LOVED its beginning, HATED its middle, and ENJOYED the wrap-up of this novel. Cleo is so hopeful & determined in everything that she did in the beginning that it was easy to want good things to happen for her. I was fascinated reading about Julian’s synesthesia condition (defined: a neurological phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway) from his POV. As it really gave the reader an idea about the obstacles someone who deals with that condition has to deal with on a daily (if not hourly) basis. Together, I found Cleo & Julian very companionable and loved reading about their growing romance. They were just so sweet and I thought Julian being calmed by her was just SOO sweet!

However, the major flaw in this novel and between Julian & Cleo was THEY NEVER REALLY TALKED ABOUT THE IMPORTANT THINGS!! This (as you can tell) annoyed me to know end! I mean, yes, Julian does tell Cleo about his condition and she handles everything quite well while their relationship gets closer because of it. Yet, neither of them talked about their feelings with each other all that much but Julian more so then Cleo was to trapped in his past that he never believes his feelings for her or the feelings she admits to for him. Then to top it off Julian becomes obsessed with the idea that he needs to turn into the rock star again so Cleo will stay with him for good, which turns out to be a complete disaster and the rest of the novel has them resisting their feelings for or trying to make amends with one another. Because of how they both handle the “rock star situation” made me want to give up on them and this book (it was about 74% of the way through). I didn’t give up on it though; and because I stuck with this novel, I got to see how they worked their way back together. The only problem I had with how they got back together is after they both pushed so hard to stay apart I felt like the ending was quite rushed.

Nevertheless, I WOULD STILL RECOMMEND this novel to those looking for a unique rock star romance!

Book Teaser(s) :
"So," Julian said as he grabbed Addie's arm to steer her clear of a wino. "Tell me about these friends of yours and why I won't be interested in shagging them."
"Real breasts," she replied.
"Come again?"
"Real breasts. They've got them."
"Hey, I've got nothing against natural breasts. They're just usually not attached to women I'm attracted to, is all." That wasn't true, but getting Addie worked up was a habit. ~ within Chapter 1
"Hello, love," Julian said. "Are you enjoying yourself?"
"I'm exploring the hotel."
"Lovely, isn't it? You should see the room. Wait, you can't. You don't know where it is."
"You're a hoot."
"We're in 512. Don't be intimidated by the king-size bed. They're bringing up a rollaway for you."
"I'm sleeping in the bed. You can have the rollaway if you're that scared of me."
"I'm fucking terrified of you, but since the room is in my name, I get the bed. You're technically my guest."
"I received my own invitation to this affair, so if I'm anybody's guest, it's Cory Maxwell's. Maybe I should see what kind of bed he has in his room."
Julian stuttered a little before saying, "Fine. You get the bed. And stay away from Maxwell."
"Maybe I will, and maybe I won't." ~ within Chapter 10

Idolizing In: A Will and A Way by Claudia Harbaugh

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 537 KB | Expected Release Date: April 7, 2015 | Publisher: SilkWords, LLC | Obtained: NetGalley

"A Will and A Way" by Claudia Harbaugh

Author's Book Description : When Pippa’s father dies, she learns he was an earl — and that she is illegitimate. Part of her inheritance is a London Season, although she must masquerade as her half sister's cousin. Provincial Pippa knows nothing of rakes and routs, and she fears repercussions should Society discover her deception. In this sweet Regency romance, Pippa must remain faithful to herself as she navigates the ton and seeks a husband. But if she does meet a man she can love, will he be able to overlook the circumstances of her birth?

My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!! After seventeen years of believing her father was just a traveling sales merchant, Philippa (Pippa) finds out that her father was actually the Earl of Milbank upon his death. In addition, he learns that she is actually a bastard. Approximately a year later, Pippa learns that in her father’s will she and her half-sister, Charlotte (Charlie), are to have a Season in London together without the interference of either of their mothers. During Pippa and Charlie’s time together, they grow close as sisters while trying to navigate the confines of the ton. Yet, Pippa is still uncertain if the ruse to pass off her being there as Charlotte’s cousin is the right one, but is telling the men in her life the truth about her parentage any better?

This fast-paced novella reminded me a bit of Ms. Austen’s "Pride & Prejudice" because of how much Pippa & Lord Trent (James) mimic Elizabeth Bennet & Mr. Darcy’s pride/stubbornness. I liked how nice Charlie is to Pippa and how their relationship grew into an undeniable friendship. In addition, I found Pippa & Lord Trent’s banter fresh and entertaining while making me want them to get together from the beginning.

I recommend this novella to those looking for a fun quick historical romance!

Author's Book Trailer :

Book Teaser(s) :
"I do not think he preferred me to you, just as most parents love all their children equally. But ..." I hesitated, not sure that I could say the words that hung on the veriest tip of my tongue.
"But he preferred your mama to mine," said my sister, speaking my thoughts aloud, sparing me the embarrassment of it.
I nodded and then, despite the rolling carriage, Lady Charlotte managed to gracefully transfer from her seat to mine. She gently took my hand in hers.
"Could we be real sisters, do you think? I would truly love to have a sister."
"Of course. I mean, we are sisters, if only half."
"I have never had anyone to confide in, you see. And sisters must keep each other's confidences."
"I will gladly keep any confidence of yours, Lay Charlotte, sister or no." ~ within Chapter 2
"What should I do if he is there?" she asked.
"You should say 'how do you do,' smile, and move on," I said matter-of-factly.
"I cannot."
"Mama, you have always told me I must face my fears. Now you must do the same."
"It is hard when my only child throws my words back in my face."
"Hard it may be, but still true." ~ within Chapter 4

"The Evolution of Emily" [Kennedy High Series, Book 2] by Kate Scott

Author's Book Description : Emily Charles knows how to run away. Away from her overprotective, agoraphobic mother. Away from her biology-obsessed, autistic sister. Away from her quiet sheltered claustrophobic homeschooled life. When Emily's escape plan involves starting her junior year at Kennedy High School, she realizes she's no longer running away. Now she's running towards. Towards her quiet thoughtful cross-country teammate, August. Towards her zany enthusiastic lab partner, Miles. Towards friendship, love, independence, and life.

Thanks to her sister's special interest in biology, Emily knows all about the birds and the bees. Boys are a lot more confusing!

Readers who enjoyed "Counting to D" will won't want to miss Scott's second novel, also set at Kennedy High School.

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! Emily's life has been within the confines of her home. With a mother who fears the outside world and a younger sister with her own special needs, Emily is very lonely. Her only reprieve from her everyday life is running. During one of her running excursions, she runs by the local high school and decides to get paperwork to enroll. After convincing her father that going to high school is what she needs, she begins her new school year that fall. Now Emily is faced with her greatest dream and biggest fear ... socialization. Will it all turn out the way she hopes? Can her family come to terms with the life changes she's throwing their way? And is the cute guy on the cross-country team everything she believes he is?

This was a uniquely intense YA romance that makes the readers think, helps them learn, and gets them addicted to its inspiring characters. I was truly surprised by the direction this novel played out but I couldn't have been happier with its outcome! Emily is a compelling girl who is brave enough to take control of her life and fight for what she wants even if it's hard fighting against a family who doesn't want to change like she does. Then to throw in her new relationship with August (a sweet cross-country star) and her budding friendships with Sam & Miles, just topped off my liking of this novel. Plus, it helped that the chemistry between August and herself is off the charts. While at times August seems to good-to-be-true, he helps Emily more than ever to navigate her new world. August definitely charmed me.

I HIGHLY recommend this novel to those who are looking for a dynamic YA romance!

"The Billionaire's Daddy Test" [Billionaires and Babies Series & Moonlight Beach Bachelors Series, Book 2] by Charlene Sands

Author's Book Description : Will a Moonlight Beach bachelor make the grade as a father…and a lover? Find out in this novel from USA TODAY bestselling author Charlene Sands.

Left to care for her late sister's baby, Mia D'Angelo goes on a secret mission to find out if the missing father would make good daddy material. But when she tracks down Adam Chase at his beachfront mansion, her plan spins out of control and they're soon dating!

It isn't long before the reclusive billionaire realizes Mia's keeping a huge secret about the child he never knew he had. Can this guarded man learn to trust Mia after her initial deception…and trust himself around this incredibly sexy woman?

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars. Four months after losing her sister, Mia finally finds the man who fathered her niece and goes about letting him know that he is a father. Yet her way of meeting Adam is a bit unusual, because by the time her reveal about his daughter happens they are halfway through their second date. Opps! From that point on, Adam has a difficult time in trusting Mia, but Mia is an intricate part of Rose’s life so they find a way to all work together, while living under one roof. Will Adam and Mia be able to trust each other enough to make this family setup work for them all or will their trust issues get in the way?

I tried so hard to like this novel but I just couldn’t get a good feel for it. Overall, it was an okay read. However, the pacing was to slow for me, then with Adam and Mia both reluctant with their affections with one another made it difficult for me to finish reading it. Why I did stick with it was because I did like Adam, Mia, and Rose as characters themselves. In addition, I liked that I completed it since the ending was very sweet.

I recommend this novel only to those who are a fan of Ms. Sands and/or her Moonlight Beach Bachelors Series.

"Sword’s Call" [The King’s Riders Series, Book 1] by C. A. Szarek

Author's Book Description : For generations, the Ryhans, ruling family of the Province of Greenwald have been keepers of a sword rumored to possess enough magic to defeat kings. Lord Varthan, a former archduke and betrayer of the king, covets the sword and invades Greenwald.

Lady Ceralda Ryhan, daughter of the murdered duke, gains the sword and flees, trusting only her white wolf, Trikser—magically bonded to her. Cera needs nothing more to aid in her fight.

Jorrin Aldern, half elfin and half human, left his home in the mountains of Aramour to find his human father who disappeared twenty turns before, but finds Cera with Varthan and his shades on her tail instead. His dual heritage and empathic magic will tempt Cera in ways she never thought she’d desire. But can he convince her trust and love can pave the path to redemption or will the epic battle end in tragedy and evil conquer them all?

Cover Art for "Sword’s Call" by Nicole Cadet

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars! Ceralda (Cera) is out for revenge. Her whole family has been brutally murdered while she was away and now she is on the run with hope of killing the man who murdered them along the way. While on her way to her Uncle's castle, Cera meets a half-elfin empath named Jorrin, who decides to help her accomplish her quest. They grow very close during their journey. Yet, are they willing to open up to one another for good or will they muddle up the best thing that could happen to them? Also, will Cera be able to exact her revenge or will her courage falter?

I was familiar with Ms. Szarek's writing style prior to purchasing this novel when it was on sale. I found that when it comes to this novel I enjoy its plot, the world everything was set in, and the characters. However, what was annoying was some of the drawn out character descriptions and how the main characters (Cera & Jorrin) always seemed to think that not communicating was the best course of action for them. *shakes head* Nevertheless, I'm glad I stuck with it as it really built up the series well.

As for Cera & Jorrin's relationship, I thought when they did actually talk to or followed through on their lust for one another then they were great. It just they are both SOO stubborn that when they get upset (which happens quite a bit) their communication goes out the window, which made me want to smack them both upside their heads by the end of the novel.

Overall, I DO recommend this novel and series to those looking for an eclectic fantasy romance!

"Go Small or Go Home" [Toronto Collection, Book 2] by Heather Wardell

Author's Book Description : Massage therapist Tess Grayson has long dreamed of turning her hobby of building intricate miniature dioramas into an art career. She's finally ready to grab for that tiny brass ring, but her potential new massage client shakes her resolve.

Forrest Williams had finally healed from the car accident that killed his fiancée, but a new injury now threatens his professional hockey career. Even allowing for everything he's suffered, the depth of the emotional and physical pain Tess senses in Forrest at their first meeting shocks her, and she puts aside her artistic aspirations for two months to help him recover.

When Forrest shows Tess's dioramas to his mother, who owns a top Toronto art gallery, she agrees to sell Tess's work but her rules and restrictions stifle Tess's creativity. Giving up the career of her dreams is unthinkable, but losing the freedom and joy she'd always found in her art is unbearable, and Tess can't seem to find a way to have both at once.

One of Ms. Wardell's favorite reviews for "Go Small or Go Home," on I'd So Rather Be Reading: "Heather Wardell is my favorite new author. She takes the emotion of Anita Shreve, the relationship development of Jodi Picoult, and the romance of Nicholas Sparks, and puts them all together to create books that are impossible to put down." (See more reviews of this book.)

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars! Tess longs to take her hobby of creating miniature scenes and turn it into a fulltime career. However, when she goes for an interview to be Forrest's (a pro-hockey athlete who recently was injured) massage therapist she knows that it's the right decision to take the job. Forrest recently lost his fiancée in a car accident and with this new injury, he is in bad shape both physically and emotionally, and Tess believes she can be the one to help him. During their time together, they become closer and Forrest lets it slip that his mother owns a popular art gallery and he encourages Tess to meet with his mother to start her career. Yet, as things get going Tess comes to realize that doing what she loves professionally comes with more strings attached than she might be willing to deal with. As time goes on Tess' relationship with Forrest becomes extremely close but is he willing commit to a new relationship with her? Is Tess able to deal with her massage position along with putting all her efforts into her dream job? Something has to give but what out of Tess' life is she willing to put the most into, and when she does will it all work out in her favor?

This intensely complex novel reeled me with Tess' candid commentary and then hooked me with her compassion for Forrest which subtly turns into something more. I was pleasantly riveted with this novel and couldn’t be happier about it! Well, in truth, it would have been nice to read it also from Forrest’s POV but that’s the only flaw that I can recall about it. Otherwise, I loved this novel’s plot and flow. It’s steadily paced and the way the plots built themselves on top of one another was sensational.

Together Tess & Forrest are a bit of a heart wrenching pair. They made me want to root for them no matter what, yet because of Forrest past, it doesn’t always seem like it’ll be a happy ending for them. I thoroughly enjoyed their relationship. In addition, with Tess working with Forrest, the reader gets to know more about his teammates and I couldn’t help but enjoy the growing camaraderie they all get into.

I HIGHLY recommend this novel to anyone who likes hockey and/or intense contemporary romances!

"Talk to me," I said. "Be the injury and talk to me."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. What's your name?"
"You've forgotten my name?"
"Not your name." I laid my hand gently across his right inner thigh. "Its name."
He studied me. "You're serious."
"Totally."
"A million sane massage therapists in the world and I get you."
"I know, aren't you lucky?" I said, and he laughed. Unwillingly, but still a laugh. I smiled at him. ~ within Chapter 3
"How's he doing?" Jen said as I sat down.
"Fine. Gave him a hand rub and he's good to go."
Jen's mouth dropped almost to her knees.
"What?"
"Say that again."
"I gave him a hand rub," I said, bewildered. "Massaged both hands."
She grinned. "I heard 'job' instead of 'rub.'"
I laughed. "And then I came marching up and announced it?"
"I was surprised, I admit."
I shook my head. "You're a pervert."
"Moi?" She flashed me an innocent grin. "Here he is. Gee, Tess, he sure looks relaxed. Are you sure you didn't--"

"The Proposal At Siesta Key" [Amish Brides of Pinecraft Series, Book 2] by Shelley Shepard Gray (aka Shelley Gray)

Author's Book Description : A young Amish woman, yearning for freedom, crosses paths with a handsome Mennonite celebrity in a deeply moving tale of friendship and self-discovery—the second installment in the unforgettable New York Times bestselling author’s new Amish Brides of Pinecraft series.

Penny Troyer rarely disobeys her parents. In the years since her sister’s tragic death, they’ve wanted nothing more than to keep her safe…even if it means never leaving the house.

But tonight, she’s bending the rules because Michael Knoxx, the most famous member of The Knoxx Family Singers, a traveling Mennonite Evangelical family —is scheduled to speak. Penny has heard of Michael—how he lost part of his leg in a terrible accident and uses the experience to inspire others—and knows she must meet him. So, for the first time ever, Penny stands up to her parents and goes out on her own.

Though he speaks about living life to the fullest, Michael knows he needs to take his own advice. Life on the road is grueling and Michael wants to slow down, to rest…to perhaps meet someone who sees him as a man, not just a celebrity. So when a twist of fate allows him the chance to stay a little longer in Pinecraft, Michael knows God is showing him a new path, especially when he discovers how much he and Penny Troyer have in common.

But new friendships can’t stop time. Soon, Michael’s time in Pinecraft will be over and he’ll be back on the road. Her time with Michael has brought her happiness, but will she be able to follow her heart? Or will she be faced with the one thing she’s sure she’ll never have the courage to do?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars!! Ever since her sister was murdered about twelve years ago, Penny (Pen) has lived a sheltered life a life that has recently been stifling. She is now ready to “spread her wings” so-to-speak and defy her parents’ wishes enough to make her way in the world. As Penny grows into her new life, she meets Michael, an evangelist who tours with his family to speak about the Lord and to share his story of struggle and triumph. During Michael’s time in Pinecraft Penny and he grow close, as close as “friends” could be, but once Michael’s time comes to an end will they be able to take their budding relationship and turn it into something more? Or is just being friends all they’ll be able to agree too?

I LOVED how this novel embellished on Beverly & Eric’s story from “The Promise of Palm Grove” (Book 1) while still centering on Penny & Michael’s romance. I really enjoyed seeing where the previous characters’ lives were going while getting to read about a new mix of characters too! Penny & Michael are an uplifting because of how their relationship naturally grew from how they meet, to their “working relationship,” to them falling for one another. Especially with how they help each other come to terms with the “cards they were dealt with” and inspire to make new experiences for themselves so they won’t have any regrets in their futures. It was just so sweet I could not get enough. Yet, I hate to say it, it was also so sweet that I kept waiting for another “shoe to drop” because of how nicely everything does wrap up for them. Thankfully, though, it doesn’t and I got to be swept away in their enchanting tale.

The epilogue also has a nice build up for the following novel in this series, which will be interesting to see as to where it’ll lead us next. While keeping the readers happy (me especially) as it gives you a better wrap up on Michael & Penny’s romance then I felt “The Promise of Palm Grove” (Book 1) did with Leona & Zack in that “where are they now” kind of way.

I HIGHLY recommend this series and this novel to those looking for a sweet Christian/Amish romance!

"Tricia, don't be a worrywart," he said in a breezy way, which was strangely appealing. "I'm feeling much better. And since you're neither my nurse nor my mother, I have no concerns about where you think I am supposed to be."
"You know, it's no wonder you speak on stage," she said sarcastically. "You certainly like to make your point."
He grinned. "Loud and clear." ~ within Chapter 21

"I liked her description of you the best, Bev," he said as he spooned up a bite of chocolate chip.
"Oh? How did she describe me?"
His lips twitched. "As a 'green-eyed goddess of the kitchen.'" ~ within Chapter 25

About the Author :

I grew up in Houston, Texas, went to Colorado for college, and after living in Arizona, Dallas, and Denver, we moved to southern Ohio about ten years ago.

I’ve always thought of myself as a very hard worker, but not ‘great’ at anything. I’ve obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree...but I never was a gifted student. I took years of ballet and dance, but I never was anywhere near the star of any recital. I love to cook, but I’m certainly not close to being gourmet…and finally I love to write books, but I’ve certainly read far better authors.

Maybe you are a little bit like me. I’ve been married for almost twenty years and have raised two kids. I try to exercise but really should put on my tennis shoes a whole lot more. I’m not a great housekeeper, I hate to drive in the snow, and I don’t think I’ve ever won a Monopoly game. However, I am the best wife and mother I know how to be.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that in God’s eyes that is okay? That from His point of view, we are all exceptional? I treasure that knowledge and am always so thankful for my faith. His faith in me makes me stand a little straighter, smile a little bit more, and be so very grateful for every gift He’s given me.

I started writing about the Amish because their way of life appealed to me. I wanted to write stories about regular. likeable people in extraordinary situations-and who just happened to be Amish.

Getting the opportunity to write Inspirational novels is truly gratifying. With every book, I feel my faith grows stronger. And that makes me feel very special indeed.

Made the Grade: The Cinderella Body Club Series, Book 1

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 4403 KB | Expected Release Date: March 23, 2015 | Publisher: Books to Go Now | Obtained: NetGalley

"Cinderella Had it Easy" [The Cinderella Body Club Series, Book 1] by Jennifer Conner

Authors' Book Description : Story one from the a new romance series of the timeless Cinderella story re imagined where four girlfriends make a wish on a locket. They all wish they were beautiful, and look like the girls they've always wanted to be. The belle of the ball.

Cami works in the basement of a television station which airs history documentaries. With scars on her face that she acquired in a car accident as a child, Cami finds it easier to be by herself. She gets into a heated debate with the handsome new host of the show she’ll be working on. Is Lance the knight in shining armor who can drag Cami out of her safe zone? With no carriage and no helpful mice, she has to rely on the magic from her grandmother’s locket.

Cami only has 24 hours in her Cinderella body, what will she do with it? Will she keep hiding or can she learn how to live life?

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars. Camille (Cami) is a fact checker for a history TV station who deals with old scars inside and out. On her usual girls night she tells her friends about her Grandmother's "magical" locket that for 24 hours it'll turn the wisher into the person they most wanted to be. Therefore, all four girls wish on the locket .... and their wishes come true. During Cami's 24 hours she meets the new host of the show she is working on, Lance. They have a magical night together, but once the 24 hours are over will Lance still like Cami for who she is with scars and all?

This was a very sweet slightly erotic quick read. I really liked it. I just wish the characters relationship could have been embellished a bit more so I could have enjoyed it better. Otherwise, I thought that Cami and Lance seemed to be a good matchup. In addition, I was happy with the slight twist about what the "magical" locket really did, as it made the ending even more entertaining!

I recommend this novel to those looking for a flirty quick-read romance!

Disappointmentville: The Lone Stars Series, Book 1

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 506 KB | Release Date: October 16, 2013 | Publisher: Self-Published | Obtained: Amazon.com

"Perfect Summer" [The Lone Stars Series, Book 1] by Katie Graykowski

Author's Book Description : High school teacher Summer Ames is trapped in the nightmare morning from hell. Her alarm clock didn’t go off, she accidentally backed over the rosebush her grandfather gave her grandmother right before he accepted defeat against prostate cancer, she’s wearing clothes she picked up off the floor, and when she opens the door to her classroom, the lights from the TV cameras nearly blind her. She's won Teacher of the Year. But unlike the past winners, she doesn't get a new car or a Hawaiian vacation or even new school supplies, she wins an over privileged quarterback with a bright smile and questionable intentions.

Clint Grayson is an NFL quarterback in need of a reputation makeover. If he has any hope of landing a hundred million dollar endorsement deal, it will take some pretty impressive PR to clean up his bad boy image. In an attempt to polish his tarnished reputation, Clint agrees to be a high school class mentor.

When these two get together all hell breaks loose and they both learn that all is fair in love and football…and winning is just the beginning.

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars. Summerville (Summer) has finally won Teacher of the Year, but instead of earning a new car or a wonderful trip she gets Clint--The Lone Star's Quarterback--as her new class mentor. YAY! Not. However, soon she'll realize that Clint coming into her life is only for the better if she can only get over her insecurities and embrace her unexpected future...

In truth, though I was surprised by the double plot romances (one with Summer and the other with her mother) I really liked how this novel began. It was steady passed and the playful banter between all the characters was very entertaining. However, around 57% of the way through this novel seemed to start dragging and the characters behavior started becoming a little ridiculous especially with all of their insecurities coming out of the woodwork. While I liked the pairings of Summer with Clint and Summer's mother Lillian (Lilly) with Davis (a man who loves her and is thirteen years younger than her), it was only curiosity in finding out the results of those relationships and because I really liked Summer & Davis's characters that had me pushing through to finish this novel.

Overall, I thought it was cute but I was hoping for more. Therefore, I recommend it to those who are fans of Ms. Graykowski or a light-hearted romance.
