"Eve’s Rescue" [Coalition Mates Series, Book 3] by Sarah Marsh

Author's Book Description : Heat Rating: SEXTREME
Word Count: 36,884

[Ménage Amour: Erotic Sci-Fi Ménage a Quatre Romance, M/M/M/F, with M/M, HEA]

Evangeline Scott was hoping for a fun night on the town after a hellish day. What she couldn’t have imagined was getting kidnapped by alien slavers and then left to die on an abandoned ship.

Kai Dallen and Roan Quinn were having some bad luck of their own when they found themselves set up by an old adversary and trapped in the vault of a Dhuaation Pharaoh's ship with no way out. When Khaman-Ra makes them an offer they can’t refuse, the two space pirates end up rescuing a ship full of human female cargo. All three males are immediately drawn to one of the beauties and make an agreement to satisfy everyone’s desires. The only problem is, they didn’t think to ask Eve and when she wakes up to find that she’s now married to three aliens she’s mad as hell. By the time all four of them realise their true feelings, will it be too late, as a woman from Roan’s past threatens to ruin it all?

A Siren Erotic Romance

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! Eve (Evangeline/Evie) lost her job and was out at a club to lighten her mood with some of her girlfriends when on her way home some alien pirates kidnap her. A while later, different aliens who are a part of the Coalition (the alien government) save her, become enamored with her, and rush into marrying her without her knowledge. Yet, once she learns the truth, she won’t just be accepting the changes in her life without some say so, even if that means denying the new men in her life until they get that she means business…

This novel is so fast-paced that it gives you no time not to enjoy the bursting chemistry between Eve and her men! As Eve states, between the three of her men—Kham (Pharaoh Khaman-Ra) with his bestowed passionate ways, Kai with his sweet considering personality, & Roan with his arrogantly humorous attitude—they make the perfect man for her, or really they just suit all of her needs. Basically, it means that when you aren’t reading their intensely HOT sex scenes, you get to read an abundance of fun, flirty, and sweet scenes between the four of them! I could not get enough! Plus, I liked how Ms. Marsh incorporated the previous characters from this series and built it up for the novels to come!

I recommend this novel to those looking for an intensely fast-paced erotic sci-fi romance!

Book Teaser(s) :
Eve didn't really hear much after the word husband came out of his mouth again, oh, except for the word husbands that followed shortly after it. She for damn sure heard that!
"This better be some miscommunication, Matty! Because I'm one hundred percent sure that I don't remember getting hitched in between getting kidnapped and waking up in here!” she yelled at the old man as his eyes grew wider and wider, realizing his mistake. ~ within Chapter 7
Whoever came up with that cliché phrase, “Be careful what you wish for, because you may get it,” was kind of a nasty bitch, but annoyingly enough, not entirely wrong. ~ within Chapter 8

About the Author :

Sarah Marsh was born in British Columbia where she still lives, she has only recently began her writing career finding it the perfect outlet for taking the edge off a nine to five office job. She’s been a science fiction and romance junkie for years and when her imagination started to take the characters she’d read about even further in their adventures she decided to try writing something of her own. Sarah’s also a former pastry chef and spends a lot of time cooking and baking for friends and family as well as painting and knitting. Her biggest weakness is animals of any kind, she loves a happy ending.

Book Excerpt :

The door swished open as they stepped up to it, and her breath immediately caught as she saw the golden sculpted pharaoh sitting with his bare chest behind the desk while both Kai and Roan sat in chairs on the other side dressed in black leather breeches and vests. Obviously the temperature of the ship was kept on the warm side to accommodate the Dhuaatian fashion sense, but Roan and Kai must have been used to the heat to be able to wear leather. They looked so dangerous and sexy compared to Khaman’s golden ethereal presence, and God, why did they have to smell so good? When the door opened and she got a rush of warm sandalwood and male musk she began to ache and immediately all she wanted to do was go over and rub herself all over them. Which of course was exactly the kind of slutty alter-ego thought she needed to give her head a shake and put her plan into the works, so she purposely looked each of the now smugly smiling men up and down before she turned back to Mhat-Am and said, “You were right, Matty, this place is much nicer than mine. I’ll totally move in, but where are these guys going to stay?” she said with a thumb pointed toward the men.

It was like watching a slow-motion playback when their smug attitude and smiles at her hormone-struck entrance slowly turned down until all three of the huge men were scowling at her, then in turn they looked toward Mhat-Am like they would string him up. It was all she could do not to laugh out loud. Plan “make these gorgeous bastards squirm” was officially off to a tremendous start. She casually walked out back to the main sitting room, running her fingers over the expensive furniture, pretending not to listen when the pharaoh was the first to express his displeasure.

“Mhat-Am! What is the meaning of this?” he asked in a steel tone, which said he was furious, but he didn’t want Eve to overhear. “You were supposed to explain the situation to Evangeline and then bring her to us to begin the bonding process.”

Poor Mhat-Am looked like he was going to be sick. He kept looking back from Khaman and the two angry Sirotians, to Eve, and then back again like he didn’t know which situation was more dangerous. When he visibly started to sweat and stutter Eve realized that she’d been kind of an asshole to throw him under the bus like that, so she stepped back up to the office. Damn conscience, it just had to ruin all her fun.

“Mhat-Am, I think you can go now. I’ll discuss this with my husbands in private and settle things. Will you be back tomorrow so we can begin my lessons?” she asked with a deceptively sweet tone while still keeping eye contact with the three seething males in front of her.

“Yes, my lady. Pharaoh?” he asked quietly, seeking permission to leave the room as quickly as possible.

“Go,” was all Khaman said between clenched teeth as he watched the older man sigh in relief and scurry out the door leaving them with their new bride.

“So, fellas, how was the wedding? Did my new in-laws spring for the good appies? Anyone on my side get drunk and pass out in the chocolate fountain?” Eve asked as she placed her hands on her hips and expressed her displeasure; a look of surprise on all three men’s faces as they suddenly realized why she was so mad was priceless. Sure it made them even cuter, but Eve was determined to punish them for at least a month before she gave in. As her traitorous eyes took a slight detour down her pharaoh’s golden abs, she did a quick recalculation and decided that two weeks was probably more appropriate. Yes, definitely two weeks…

Feasted On: The Heartbreak Chronicles, Book 1

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Paperback - Pages: 336; Kindle Edition - File Size: 1271 KB | Expected Release Date: August 4, 2015 | Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire | Obtained: NetGalley

"The Heartbreakers" [The Heartbreak Chronicles, Book 1] by Ali Novak

Authors' Book Description : "When I met Oliver Perry, I had no clue he was the lead singer for The Heartbreakers. And he had no idea that I was the only girl in the world who hated his music."

Stella will do anything for her sick sister, Cara—even stand in line for an autographed Heartbreakers CD… for four hours. She’s totally winning best birthday gift this year. At least she met a cute boy with soft brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes while getting her caffeine fix. Too bad she’ll never see him again.

Except, Stella’s life suddenly turned into a cheesy love song. Because Starbucks Boy is Oliver Perry—lead singer for the Heartbreakers. And even after she calls his music crap, Oliver still gives Stella his phone number. And whispers quotes from her favorite Disney movie in her ear. OMG, what is her life?

But how can Stella even think about being with Oliver—dating and laughing and pulling pranks with the band—when her sister could be dying of cancer?

Ali Novak wrote her debut novel "My Life with the Walter Boys" when she was just 15 years old, and has since penned her next book, "The Heartbreakers." First a hit on the online community Wattpad, her second novel has over 38 million reads and is loved by readers around the world.

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! Since freshman year of high school, Stella’s sister (Cara) has been battling cancer, now about four years later Cara’s battle has been getting harder. Therefore, to give Cara the “greatest 18th Birthday present EVER” Stella and their brother Drew attend The Heartbreakers (the “boy band” Cara loves) autograph signing to get Cara’s things signed by the band as the gift for her. However, the day of signing Stella’s life changes forever and her life gets more embroiled with The Heartbreakers with its leader singer Oliver than she ever expected…

I chose/requested to read this novel for the following two main reasons. The first reason is because I’ve had a sudden urge to read rock star romances lately and with its cover/description, this looked like a good one. The second reason is that this novel’s description reminded me of Ms. Rallison’s “Just One Wish,” because the main characters from both novels are trying to get something from someone famous to make their sick siblings happy, and since I really liked Ms. Rallison’s novel I hoped I’d like Ms. Novak’s novel too. As luck would have it, I liked “The Heartbreakers” quite a lot!

All portrayed through Stella’s POV, you get a great start to a very intriguing series and band! Stella deals with Cara’s illness by hanging onto her family and staying close to them all as much as possible. However, Cara is the one who pushes Stella into accepting the Heartbreakers’ job offer and starting her own life away from her family. No matter what happens to Stella, she is still scared of getting her heart broken, and Oliver has player written all over him. Nevertheless, the attraction between Oliver and Stella is undeniable testing her resistance at every opportunity. It was fun watching her fight to have them stay apart.

Together Oliver and Stella are an electric, fun, and enchanting couple. Simply, they even each other out. Even though Stella feels in the dark about Oliver’s past during most of this novel, I enjoyed how their relationship grew and progressed. Yet, while I really liked Oliver as the “hero” and his relationship with Stella, I found this to be more of a women’s fiction novel instead of a romance as it’s based more on Stella’s personal growth than anything else. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed how this novel’s plot was laid out. I laughed, I cried, I just could not get enough!

I HIGHLY recommend this novel to those looking for a YA version of women’s fiction that also has the bonus of being a romance too!

"Anya and the Shy Guy" [Backstage Pass Series, Book 4] by Suze Winegardner

Author's Book Description : Suze’s first YA book will be publishes TODAY, July 14th, 2015 by Entangled Publishing’s Crush Imprint. It is part of the “Backstage Pass Series” which details the adventures of a boy-band on their first national tour

It’s always the quiet ones…

Anya Anderson doesn’t just need a big break, she needs any break. Living on the streets doesn’t leave a girl many options, so when she scores a gig reporting on the Seconds to Juliet tour, she jumps at the chance to earn enough money to sleep somewhere safe. And the paycheck will get bigger if she can dig up dirt on Will Fray, the irritatingly cute “shy guy” of the band.

Problem is, Will Fray isn’t who everyone thinks he is. In fact, he’s not Will at all. The guy onstage is actually Matt, Will’s identical twin, who’s reluctantly covering for his brother while he’s in rehab. To make matters worse, Matt’s being shadowed by a cute reporter with troubled eyes determined to get the scoop. On him.

If the secret gets out, it won’t just be his head on the platter—it’ll be the whole band’s. But Matt’s having trouble finding the willpower to keep his distance…and he’s not so sure he wants to.

This Entangled Teen Crush book contains steamy make out scenes, graphic language, and a love story so hot your copy may spontaneously burst into flames. You’ve been warned.

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! Since the age of fifteen, Anya has been living on the streets. Now two years later, she finally gets a “big brake” by taking a job as a freelance journalist trying to get the inside scoop about Will “The Shy Guy” from the group Seconds to Juliet. However, not everything is all rosy because she unintentionally lied about her age to get the gig and after meeting Will, she’s not sure that if she learns any of his secrets that she’d be willing to divulge them to the public like that. As Anya gets closer to Will though she’s finding that not everything is adding up, is he too good to be true or is he hiding a bigger secret than she originally suspected?

I REALLY liked how its plot flowed! Mostly because if it went off, as I feared it would, that Will would come back without Matt telling Anya about their “deceit” before Will showed than I’m not sure I’d have enjoyed it as much as I did. Therefore, I’m VERY happy with how everything turns out in this novel!! As it happens Anya meets Will’s identical twin brother Matt who is playing the role of Will until his twin gets out of recovery, but no one but Trevin knows the truth about the farce. It’s like a more grownup version of The Parent Trap. With the slight twists that this novel pulls, I was enamored with it!

While Matt is more of the extrovert compared to his twin’s shyness, I still could not get enough of him! I found him to be sweet, funny, and very charismatic. In truth, he charmed me just as much as he did Anya! Then as you read about Anya not being as “edgy” as she portrayed herself to be, I fell in love with them as a couple! In addition, I liked that you kind of get to see Will get together with someone too by the end of this novel.

I recommend this novel to those who are already a fan of the Backstage Pass series and/or if you’re looking for a sweetly fun contemporary, YA romance!

"What do you need?" He poured a cup of coffee from the carafe and held the cup up in the silent You want some? gesture.
Trevin shook his head. "What I need is for you to stop singing 'I'll wash your back' when it should be 'I'll watch your back.' You might not think anyone can hear you, but I can hear you, and you can bet your ass that LJ can hear you, too."
Matt leaned against the counter. Huh.
"Well that certainly makes more sense given the rest of the lyrics." He pulled open a drawer and dug the songbook Will had written for him. Bastard. "Sorry, dude. The little bastard wrote 'I'll wash your back.' He always did love messing with me."
Trevin grabbed the book and read through it. "Hey, we can give him the benefit of the doubt. He was in pain when he wrote this for you. Give me a pen."
Matt chucked him a pencil, and Trevin started scribbling in the book. Shit. It looked like he'd been singing the wrong words to a bunch of songs. No wonder Trevin had stopped by to check up on him. ~ within Chapter 2

"Maid for the Rock Star" [Romance Island Resort Series, Book 1] by Demelza Carlton

Author's Book Description : A maid at the exclusive Romance Island Resort, Audra knows how to handle rock stars, billionaires and celebrities. She keeps their secrets, cleans up their mess and makes sure their holiday is a memorable one. There’s just one rule: no relationships with guests. And Audra never breaks the rules.

Jay Felix is rock royalty and he knows it. When one of his bandmates threatens to break up the band, he goes into hiding at the Romance Island Resort. Looking for a distraction, he sets his sights on the unattainable Audra. But what’s a rock star to do when the girl he wants is the one woman he can’t have?

Welcome to paradise, where the romance is as hot as the weather and the tides aren’t all that’s surging beneath the surface.

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars. A rock star decides to stay at a remote island Resort in Australia while coming to terms with being on a "farewell tour" at only the age of 25 years old. While there, he becomes enamored with his maid and tries to peruse her by any means necessary.

I tried to like this novel but I found Jason (Jay/the rock star) and Audra both hard to enjoy as main characters. Jay portrays a main who is self-centered and all about getting laid, it was hard to find any depth with him. Whereas Audra is poor, trying to find the self-control not to hook up with Jay so she won't lose her job, and allows her family and coworkers to steamroll over her. Together I thought they might have a nice friendship but it wasn't love. In addition, I'm not sure how they can have anything long-term because of Audra's career goals and how this novel ends.

In truth, I don't recommend it unless you're looking for a straight erotica without much romance.

Book Excerpt :

“Now don’t give me that look, son. It’s been two years. You need to find somebody. Give Jonathan a mama.”

“He had a mama. And we’re fine.” Beau hated the way his voice broke every time someone forced him to talk about Claire, so he made his retreat into Scout’s stall. The sixteen-year-old stallion was the most level-headed Morgan he’d ever owned. He nuzzled his master as soon as he saw the brush in Beau’s hand.

Ezra followed, thumbs tucked behind his overall straps. “You’re not fine, Beauregard. You need a lady to run things around here. Harry and Isaac are back with the new teacher, right?”

“I reckon so.” He brushed Scout’s neck with soft, gentle strokes.

“Portia, wasn’t it? Portia McAllister?”

“You’d know better than me. I didn’t want to hire her in the first place. It’s bad enough she’s a Rebel’s widow, but Harry says she’s not what we expected. Is she blind or deaf or missing a leg or what?”

“Heck if I know, son. I ain’t met her yet, either. All I’ve seen is her letter.”

“And according to that letter, her husband worked as an overseer.”

“Part-time assistant to an overseer.”

“Same difference.”

“Don’t matter what he was. She’s a former schoolteacher. And you know Claire wanted this for Jonny until he’s old enough for the university. I ain’t gonna be responsible for her coming back to haunt us for not abiding by her wishes.”

"At Ease" by Olivia Brynn (aka Alanna Coca)

Authors' Book Description : Jaycee Hanson has the best seat in the house in Psych 301. Right behind Tyler Johnson, ROTC captain and star of her erotic fantasies. But while lusting from afar, she’s come to one disappointing conclusion. He doesn’t seem to date outside his race.

When an accidental touch near the end of class turns into an impromptu foot rub, the rest of her wet-noodle bones are willing to go anywhere Tyler leads. She just never expected to be led into the nearest stairwell.

Tyler isn’t sure what to make of the smart, beautiful woman in his arms. If he’d had any idea Jaycee was interested in him, he would have made a move long ago. But each time he looked her way, she avoided his gaze.

A blissful afternoon at his place seems the start of something special—until objections to their relationship arise from an unexpected source. Causing Jaycee to wonder if sizzling sexual chemistry is enough.

This book has been previously published.

Product Warnings
Contains a semi-public quickie against a wall, impromptu picnics, and a hero who knows where to draw the line—and it’s not between him and his woman.

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! After months of lusting after one another Tyler and Jaycee follow through on their feelings and see what happens. However, as they quickly get to know each other unplanned for obstacles get in the way, will they be willing to make a big commitment into their budding relationship so soon?

WOW! This erotically charged novella hooks you with its spicy storyline and then reels you in with its heartwarmingly sweet characters! Tyler and Jaycee are a great couple who’s chemistry off the charts. Even though this is a whirlwind romance novella, which only shows a glimpse into the beginning of their relationship, I have a good feeling about them being together.

I definitely recommend this novella to those looking for a hot erotica romance!

"Madison's Song" by Christine Amsden

Author's Book Description : Her voice is enchanting; his soul is black…

Madison Carter has been terrified of Scott Lee since the night he saved her from an evil sorcerer – then melted into a man-eating monster before her eyes. The werewolf is a slave to the moon, but Madison’s nightmares are not.

Despite her fears, when Madison’s brother, Clinton, is bitten by a werewolf, she knows there is only one man who can help. A man who frightens her all the more because even in her nightmares, he also thrills her.

Together for the first time since that terrible night, Scott and Madison drive to Clinton’s home only to discover that he’s vanished. Frantic now, Madison must overcome her fears and uncover hidden strengths if she hopes to save him. And she’s not the only one fighting inner demons. Scott’s are literal, and they have him convinced that he will never deserve the woman he loves.

*Stand-alone companion to the Cassie Scot series

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! A spin-off from Ms. Amsden’s Cassie Scot Mystery Series about Cassie’s best friend Madison who deals with coming to terms with her “magic,” using her gift of song as something more than the kids she teaches, finding a way to help her brother, and finding out to deal with her feelings towards Scott, the local Alpha werewolf.

I found this novel to be intensely riveting, especially with how Madison goes through the process of being a “little mouse” of a woman to standing on her two own feet. The changes Madison goes through throughout this novel are dramatic. Yet, I liked how determined she was help her brother even if that made her “evil.” In truth, though I was sucked into all of the drama flying around later on, the beginning didn’t hook me. It wasn’t until I was able to start reading from Scott’s POV in Chapter 2 that I started to get reeled in.

From all of the buildup about how they met to the night that has held them hostage with nightmares for the past two years, it was hard not to feel that Scott and Madison were meant for one another. Even with the fact that Scott is a werewolf, and neither feel comfortable about her safety with that side of him, they are both have similar temperaments and wants that it made me want to push them together myself. After reading about their adventure, I strongly feel that this dynamic duo are a great pair.

I would be happy to read more about Scott and Madison. =0)

I recommend this novel to those looking for an adventurous paranormal romance!

“You’re not safe with me.” He could feel himself caving, though. He wasn’t that worried about his ability to keep her safe, and he knew from experience that new wolves transitioned better if the people they had loved in their former lives didn’t reject them.
“If you were going to kill me, you’d have done it two years ago.”
“Then maybe I’m not safe with you,” Scott said. ~ within Chapter 2

Book Excerpt :

The first police car screamed into the lot, skidding to a halt so close to the front of the truck that it was a miracle it hadn't hit. They were caught. Madison glanced at Scott for instructions, but his eyes were closed and he was muttering something under his breath – casting a spell.

Two uniformed officers spilled from their car, but they didn't come towards them. Instead, they went for Mick and his dad, cutting them off before they could pile into a rusty Toyota. Then another squad car screamed into the lot, ejecting two more officers who went into the building.

“Go,” Scott murmured.

She barely heard him, but she obeyed. She put the truck in reverse, carefully backed away from the police car trying to kiss their bumper, then threw the truck into drive and peeled away. Madison kept glancing at the mirrors, even though the angles were wrong, looking behind them for the cars that would surely give chase. They didn't. The police officers acted as if they couldn't even see them.

It wasn't just the policemen who couldn't see them, as Madison discovered when she pulled into traffic. She screamed and slammed on the brakes, barely missing a collision when a car changed lines directly into their side.

“Are we invisible?” Madison asked.

Blog Tour - Sweet as Sin by J. T. Geissinger | Interview, Spreading the Word & Kindle/Novel Giveaways

Today I'm turning my blog over to J. T. Geissinger author of "Sweet as Sin," which happens to be the FIRST BOOK in her Bad Habit Series!!

ALSO -- Be sure to check out Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post to be able to sign up for this blog stop's GIVEAWAY!! [Blog Tour will run on July 14, 2015 & the Giveaway will run from July 14 - 16, 2015]

My Q&A with J. T. Geissinger :

Jess : What inspired your new Bad Habit series? What is it about?

J. T. : I was a serious Van Halen fangirl when I was a teenager, and my best friend was a die-hard Zeppelin fan. We went to a million rock concerts together. Growing up in LA, one of the things to do on weekends was to go into Hollywood and hang out at all the famous rock clubs on Sunset strip, so I have tons of memories and experiences from that time. After I finished my paranormal Night Prowler series, I wanted to make a change to contemporary, and thought stories about a rock band would be a blast to write.

Jess : Please tell us more about members of the band?

J. T. : Nico is the passionate, extroverted lead singer. He’s the hero of the first book in the series, "Sweet As Sin." A. J. Edwards is the surly, tatted badboy drummer with a past even more screwed up than Nico’s. (If you read "Sweet As Sin," you’ll know that’s pretty bad!) Then there’s Brody Scott, aka “Scotty,” the lead guitarist, who’s a bit of a fashion plate. Ethan and Chris are the keyboardist and bassist, respectively, but I don’t know too much about them yet because they haven’t told me.

Jess : What qualities does Nico have that make him a swoonworthy hero?

J. T. : Nico is your typical alpha male, with a twist. He’s passionate and possessive, but not douchey, like so many alpha bad boys can be. He has a dirty mouth and loves to use it, but he’s very much into doing anything that will make Kat feel happy and protected. He loves to spoil her, and lets down his guard almost from the first moment they meet. He’s not one of those guys who sleeps with other girls to make Kat jealous, or acts wishy-washy about commitment. He’s all in, one hundred percent, from the get-go. He’s very intense, but he knows exactly what he wants, and will do anything to get it. And keep it.

Jess : What makes Nico and Kat perfect for each other?

J. T. : They’re two damaged souls who are straight talking, no-bullshit kind of people. All the things that have happened to them in their pasts make them both very protective of and loyal to those they love. Both of them are mature beyond their years, both are sensitive and soulful, and both are willing to risk everything for love. They’re irresistible to one another.

Jess : What’s the most romantic thing Nico does for Kat?

J. T. : Nico is a die-hard romantic, so he does a lot of over-the-top romantic things for Kat in the book. One of the most romantic is the mariachi band he flew in from Mexico to surprise Kat for her birthday. (They heard some mariachi music at a restaurant on their first date, and watched a movie together that had a mariachi song she loved, both of which he remembered.) She has a terrible story about why she hates her birthday, and Nico wanted to make her some better birthday memories. What comes along with the mariachis is a great surprise, and very Nico.

Jess : What’s your favorite scene in the book?

J. T. : There’s too many to pick just one. But I love the scene when Nico first visits Kat at her house, and she asks him why he’s into her. Here’s a snippet:

“Can I ask you a serious question?”

He nodded.

I had to gather my courage for a second before I could ask him what was on my mind.

“Why me?”

I promise I wasn’t fishing for a compliment this time. I was just confused. This man could have any woman he wanted. Literally—any one. I thought I was better than average looking, but I certainly wasn’t a stunner. Especially in a town like L.A. where beautiful women practically grew on trees. I could be funny on occasion, and I’d been told by past boyfriends I had a quirky, adorable charm.

But I wasn’t on Nico’s level. I was boxing out of my class. If he was Mike Tyson, I was the guy who emptied the spit bucket. I just needed to understand.

“Could be those freckles. First girl I ever loved had freckles. I was six.” Nico regarded me very seriously, but I sensed the humor behind his tone. “Or it could be those Cleopatra eyes. Or that killer body. You got a woman’s body, classic hourglass curves made for a man’s hands.”

I blushed again, looking down.

Nico’s voice grew quiet. “Or it could be that when you look at me, I feel like I could fuckin’ fly.”

I looked up at him. Now he was deadly serious, staring at me with something like wonder.

“I don’t have a lot of real in my life, Kat. You’re real. Knew it when you stood up to me when I got mad at Avery. Protectin’ a girl you didn’t even know, puttin’ yourself out there for someone else. And not backin’ down an inch. I liked that. Liked it too that you didn’t let me push you around or intimidate you. You’d be surprised how old that shit gets, people bowin’ and scrapin’, thinkin’ they’re gonna get somethin’ outta you if they kiss your ass just right. And then you demanded I explain what the deal was with me and Avery before you’d even consider talkin’ to me about there bein’ anything between us. Which I loved, by the way. Shows you got class. And self-respect. To top it all off, you got two girlfriends who obviously love you and have your back, which means you’re a good friend. Which means you’re trustworthy. Which means fuckin’ everything to me.”

I let it all sink in, just breathing. I wasn’t sure if I trusted myself to speak.

“So that’s why I got you the necklace. That’s what we’re gonna have: trust. It’s important to me, and it’s important to you. All this other stuff . . . ” He squeezed me into a tight embrace, nuzzled his face into my neck, and inhaled deeply. “Is just a bonus.”

“Other stuff?” I sounded like Minnie Mouse I was so breathless.

He chuckled. “The way my dick gets hard just lookin’ at you. The way you get wet when I touch you.”

Oh, God. We were back to the dirty talk. And we were in my house. Alone.

Jess : Can you give us a sneak peek at the next book in the series?

J. T. : The next book will star A. J. and Chloe, two characters that are introduced in "Sweet As Sin." A. J. is the drummer for the band, and Chloe is one of Kat’s best friends. And the two of them can’t stand each other. But A. J. has some very good reasons why he wants to keep Chloe away. Honestly their book, "Make Me Sin," is my favorite book I’ve ever written. It’s a pretty devastating read. I’ve never cried so much writing anything in my life! I can’t wait to hear what readers think of it.

"Sweet as Sin"
[Bad Habit Series, Book 1] by J. T. Geissinger

Author's Book Description :
    Inside a drop-dead sexy, hard-partying rock star lies a good heart…and a dark secret.

Twenty-something Kat Reid is loving life as an in-demand Hollywood makeup artist. She has absolutely no interest in rock ’n’ roll, but in order to pay the mortgage, she agrees to work on the set of a rock video for the world-famous rockers known as Bad Habit…which brings her face-to-face with Nico Nyx, lead singer of Bad Habit and Adonis in the flesh.

However, the fiercely independent Kat isn’t impressed by the hard-living, womanizing rock star. But when Nico’s model girlfriend shows up to the set drunk and Kat is tapped to replace her as the video’s sexy bride, her combustible chemistry with Nico suddenly threatens to consume the set. Nico feels it, too—and becomes determined to win Kat over, body and soul. Yet behind his rock god swagger, Nico hides a dark secret. Can he rock Kat’s world forever, or will he just break her heart?

My Book Review :
5 out of 5 stars!! When Kat (Katherine) meets Nico during his music video shoot, she never expected her world to change in the blink of an eye. But it does. The question is does she have the courage to stay on and enjoy the ride or will "she run for the hills" too soon?

If you’re looking for an EXTREME romantic rollercoaster read than this is the book for you!! Very well written! At times, it made me feel like I was reading Kat's diary. Overall, Kat makes you fall in love all of the characters, even herself. [READ MY FULL REVIEW HERE]

My Previous Review(s) for this Author : Sweet as Sin

My Previous Mention(s) of this Author's Books/Characters : Second Sentence Saturday: Sweet as Sin

Book Excerpt :

“Some good things are free,” I whispered, staring into his eyes.

“Yeah? Name one.”

I bit my lip. Heat rose in my cheeks. Nico didn’t miss it, but he didn’t comment on it, instead stroking a thumb over the flame on my skin, waiting.

I swallowed, deciding to be brave. “Love.”

His eyes flashed. The muscle in his jaw flexed. He was quiet long enough for me to want to slink away into a corner and curl into a tiny little ball. But then he closed his eyes just longer than a blink, shaking his head.

“Baby, that’s the costliest thing of all.”

After an awkward moment, I said, “Excuse me, Debbie Downer, I was wondering if you could find Nico for me?” When he just looked at me, silent and smoldering, I prompted, “You know, the grand romantic gestures guy? The gold jewelry guy? The lavender roses guy? The unremorseful stalker? Any of this ringing a bell?”

He stared deep into my eyes. The depth of emotion I saw there took my breath away. “What’s more romantic, Kat? Fallin’ in love because you don’t know any better . . . or fallin’ in love, knowin’ it’s gonna ruin you, knowin’ it’s gonna rip out your fuckin’ heart and smash you into a million little pieces, but doin’ it anyway, because you’d rather pay the price and be ripped and smashed forever then never get a taste of it at all?”

My lips parted. A funny little noise escaped my mouth. The edges of everything grew fuzzy, because of the water welling in my eyes. “I’m not going to ruin you,” I promised in a vehement whisper.

His lips curved to a sad smile. “Yeah, you are. You already have. Just the way you’re lookin’ at me right now has ruined me for any other woman.” His quicksilver eyes grew intense. “And I’m gonna make damn sure I ruin you for any other man.”

I felt the kiss he gave me all the way to my toes. It was hungry—no, it was devouring. I clung to him, feeling what little reason I had left regarding this relationship slipping away.

Because even if he was right, even if we were destined to ruin one another, I didn’t want to stop. In my heart of hearts, I didn’t care what happened in all my tomorrows, as long as I could have this, right now. His kiss and his smile and the fever that burned so brightly between us.

The fever that might just leave a smoking path of destruction in its wake.
