I'm gonna find someone, someday who might actually treat me well. This is a big world, That was a small town ...

"Enthusiasm" by Polly Shulman hooks you in and makes you wish you could be there with the girls! Julia has been best friends with Ashleigh for over 10 yrs ... and during those years she has been through many "crazes" of Ash's with her (like her candy making time period or her others). Well ... now her friend is onto a new "craze" ... the good news is that it's one that Julie enjoys as well (i.e. Jane Austen) ... however .. Ash doesn't just like things (or her crazes) she puts 100% into them. So, now she's acting like she's from the 19th-century (from the way she talks .. to her how she acts .. to what she wears) and is in search of her Mr. Darcy and Julie's Mr. Bingley!! And the only place to find such a gentleman would be at the all-boys school located on the outside of their town ... and going to that schools annual dance! In doing so comes a great deal of events ... like learning how to dance some of the older dances, Julie meeting her 'Mysterious Stranger', a PLAY!, a love triangle or two ... and a whole lot more!!

3 out of 5 stars! The way it's written .. it was like reading Julie's diary. Very clever! To be 16 again .... I think I just might like it if I had Julie's life. *hahaa* I definitely recommend reading it if your into chic lit!

Who knows, That here we are, And you’re a super star on your own

In "Prada & Prejudice" by Mandy Hubbard, Callie's year hasn't been going well .... so when she convinces her mother into letting her go on a school trip to England she thinks this is her chance to make a change in her life .... possibly become popular ... maybe make some friends .... but definitely stop being the shy girl in the crowd. However, when most of the other girls on the trip don't help her fit in .... she makes a plan to follow them to a club she overheard them talking about visiting that night and just happen to show up. So, a shopping trip is in order!! And what would make those girls notice her as someone with style? Why Prada shoes of course!! But as soon as she's buys them, puts them on, and walks out the door .... she realizes she should have tried them on .... they are a little too big and she really doesn't know how to walk in them. =0/ Then before she knows how to get her balance she falls down .. knocking her head on the concrete. After the pain subsides .... she opens her eyes to find out she is now in 1815 England!! Thankfully she finds a house/mansion not to far from where she woke up .... thinking someone could help her ... but even though the owners let her in .... they now believe she's their American friend Rebecca who was planning on staying with them for awhile. And until she can find a way back home ...... she falls into high society .... and the secrets of everyone around her ..... will she make it home (back to the 21st century) .... or will she even want to leave by the time that comes???

3.5 out of 5 stars. Parts of the story dragged on a bit .... however ... I LOVED how the author wrapped it all up ... so in a way it might possibly be believable! =0)

Cupid please hear my cry, And let your arrow fly, Straight to my lover's heart for me

Have you ever tempted fate?? Well .. Robyn and Ken tempt it quite a bit in "Fate and Ms. Fortune" by Saralee Rosenberg. Both Robyn and Ken are down on their luck. But how would have thunk it that things would suddenly change on the night that Robyn attends her cousin's son's bar mitzvah ... the same night that her parents announce their separation and her mother moves in with her! As right after her stand-up act on stage a couple asks her to call their relative who is in desperate need of being cheered up. However ... after a couple of days passing and still not following through on the call, Robyn finally plans to meet up with Ken .... and when she does she starts to realize that she's known him from afar for quite sometime .... the only question is once fate knocks on their door will they answer?

Excerpts:

  • Man: Why do you wear a bra? You've got nothing to put in it.
Woman: You wear pants, don't you?

  • True happiness would not come from praying for what which had eluded us, but being thankful for that which was already in our midst.

  • 2.5 out of 5 stars. What can I say I was hoping for more .... I like Robyn on the aspect that YES she is a really strong character in her beliefs and what she'll do for others. However .... sometimes the storyline dragged a bit. =0P Too bad.

Life don't go quite like you planned it, We try so hard to understand it ...

"Please give my friend a job. Please." - Miss Sherridan Smith, best friend

"Playing With Fire" [part of the 'Tales of an Extraordinary Girl' series] by Gena Showalter takes on another version of someone who has the ability to control the elements ... in this case those would be fire, wind, water, and earth .... and the person would be Belle. However, Belle didn't get these powers on her own .... a scientist had actually slipped the formula into her drink, without her knowledge, and it changed her into getting them. Now she has these powers .... one hot man and a whole lot of killers after her to get their hands on her and the formula in the process. It doesn't help that the scientist took off without letting her know what was happening to her and now she needs to find him to possibly get an antidote. But will she be able to find the scientist before her killers find her??

3 out of 5 stars. Belle is a cute character ... fierce and kind. You definitely root for her. And I like this new take on these types of powers ... since the only other character I've read so far with them has been Zoey from the "House of Night series" by P. C. Cast & Kristin Cast ... however ... Gena put's her own twist to them as you soon find out that Belle's powers work mostly with her emotions .... and with that the possibilities are endless. *hahaa*

Three little birds, Pitch by my doorstep, Singin' sweet songs, Of melodies pure and true

"The Next Best Thing" by Kristan Higgins is sweet ... heartwarming ... and also a major tear-jerker! Lucy lost the love of her life, 5 and a half years ago, to a car accident. Still living with the great sense of loss .... she finally decides that she would still like to have a family of her own. But she wants someone who isn’t perfect, meaning: a nice man, not-to-handsome, would make a good father, and most importantly someone who won’t make her give her whole heart to him. As she’s already dealt with as much pain as she thinks she can deal with ... she doesn’t want to go through that loss again. This means she’s going to have to give up Ethan, her dead husband’s younger brother, who’s her friend-with-benefits. However, Ethan won’t be pushed aside so easily ...

3.5 out of 5 stars. I meant what I said ... it's heartwarming and a very sweet book about how love can heal the soul. Yet I didn't completely expect to be crying so much while reading it. =0P

Sometimes i'm an angel, And sometimes i'm cruel, And when it comes to love ... I'm just another fool

Susan Elizabeth Phillips shines with her new novel "What I Did for Love"!! Basically you have two ex-co-star enemies ... one drunken night in Vegas ... a bunch of Hollywood gossip .... and you get a relationship that turns out for the better if only each can get over there own pasts .... and their friends and colleagues around them don't make it worse. Find out what Bram & Gracie do for love!

4 out of 5 stars!! This is one of my now faves of Susan's ... especially since she put so many of her characters from previous books into it! So ... if you've read her "Glitter Baby" and/or "Natural Born Charmer" then you'll get to read about some familiar characters again. =0) However, even though I am a fan of epilogues as I have mentioned in the past, the epilogue that she has is a little too lovey dovey to be realistic ... but oh wells I guess. =0P

It's all about the way you do the things you do

For some reason when I meet someone for the first time, I feel compelled to tell them this. “Hi, my name is Sadie Price. Yeah, great to meet you, too! People hate me.”

Taking the phrase 'The grass is always greener on the other side' to a whole new level "Accidental It Girl" by Libby Street [aka Sarah Bushweller and Emily S. Morris] deals with celebrity status and paparazzi. Sadie is a celebrity photographer who thinks that if she doesn't chase after her "targets" (the celebs) then she's can't be "one of those" types ... and she likes what she does. While celebrity Ethan Wyatt hates that the photographers follow him constantly .... so much so that after he arrives in the New Jersey airport (because he is planning on moving to New York) and meets Sadie ... then encounters her a few more times .. he makes a plan to get her back with her own medicine. Now with rumors spread to the nation about this new mysterious girl .... will Sadie be able to stand the pressure? Or will Ethan's plans backfire?

3.5 out of 5 stars!! The book started out VERY slow .... if I didn't pay for it then I might have stopped there but thankfully after finishing a quarter of the book ... it picked up and became really funny!! The story is mixed in with it's own tabloid feel to it. Definitely cute.
