Over the past year I have seen "One Day" by David Nicholls, on bookshelves and listed on my 'recommend reads' area on amazon.com .... and now I'm just waiting for my chance at it from local library (once it's my time in the queue line). From the book description I can already see why a movie is coming out this year based on this book!!

My Book Summary : This book in the series was a mix of multiple stories that all have a common link to each other, told by 9 different points-of-view.
Zoey is dealing with: Her loss of Heath. Her love and new relationship with Stark. Her feelings about being "whole" again, and where she wants to go and do from here.
Stark is dealing with: Not being completely himself after coming back from the Otherworld. Enjoying his new relationship with Zoey. Learning what being a Guardian is all about.
Neferet is dealing with: Being a bitch as usual. Nyx messes up some of her plans, but Darkness has other plans to help her out.
Rephaim is dealing with: He's dealing with his feelings for Stevie Rae, while dealing with how he can/could possibly stay loyal to Kalona (his father).
Stevie Rae is dealing with: Her love for Rephaim and how she's been keeping him a secret from her friends. Everything that involves being the High Priestess of the Tulsa House of Night while Zoey is gone.
Kalona is dealing with: Neferet's "control" over him and how he could get out of it.
My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars. Basically I went from excited at the beginning to disappointed for the middle and end (even though there were a few good parts in the middle). I really wanted to read this novel when I finished "Burned," but then I got pregnant and not interested in this series for a while, well now that I have read it and just finished reading it I can say I was very disappointed. =0( I mean I liked the relationship that has formed between Zoey and Stark, yet I do NOT like Stark's new development. I really didn't like that a character I really liked dies. I DID like what happens between Stevie Rae and Rephaim.
However, with all I DIDN'T like about this book (part in the series) I know for a fact that I'll be reading the next book in this series, "Destined." Especially with the odd turn of events at the very end, basically throwing one of my fave characters and giving "them" a whole new reality. =0( All I can say is .... I'm scared to know what will happen next.
And I hope that this will wrap up soon since if it gets stretched for too much longer the series will just go even more down hill.
My Previous Review(s) for this Series :Book 6 | Book 7
"Oh, and maybe one of the me's could take a long bubble bath and listen to my Kenny Chesney while I read the end of A Night to Remember."
"A Night to Remember? You mean that Titanic story I read last year in Lit class?"
"Yeah. We'd just started it when I died and un-died, so I never got to finish it."
"Here. I'll help ya out. THE SHIP SINKS. THEY DIE. The end. Now can we please move on to somethin' more important?" ~ within Chapter 16

"Storm Born" [Dark Swan Series, Book 1] by Richelle Mead
What was I thinking? : Well, I really loved Richelle's Vampire Academy Series so I thought I'd try one of her other series and what a disappointment that was. Blah ....
My Book Summary : Eugenie is a powerful shaman, who's goal is to protect her "world" (and the human race) anyway she can from gentry (the fey) and things from the "other world" who happen to attack, haunt, or just bother humans. The good thing about it is she's a mercenary so she gets to choose which cases to take and gets paid for it. However, after years of being a mercenary, her name finally becomes known by the gentry and her life completely changes. When one of her latest clients needs her to rescue his teenage sister from a gentry, Eugenie learns about a disturbing prophecy that involves her first-born who will threaten the world as she knows it. So, now she has gentry coming at her from all sides ---- to be her unborn babies daddy or to kill her --- a teenage girl to save and she needs to work out who she can learn to trust when her world is turned up-side-down.
My Book Review : 1 out of 5 stars. From what I saw after I tried to read this book is a lot of people had bad reviews about the series too ... maybe not this book in particular but definitely a few books down the line. I liked the book up until the halfway point and then the plot went a way I just didn't like and I got bored with it. *shakes head* Too bad. Basically I never finished the book ... I just couldn't force my way to do so.
My Previous Review(s) for this Author :Spirit Bound
Book Teaser(s) :
Dorian's eyes flicked back to me. "Did you have any idea what a creature of nightmare you are around here? Mothers tell their children Odile Dark Swan will come for them if they're bad."
"Hey, I don't seek them out. I only come for them if they come for me first."
"Interesting," he said, arching an eyebrow. "But if that's how you like it, so be it. I always admire women who know what in the bedroom."
"Hey, that's not what I---" I hadn't realized the extent to which our slang had permeated the gentry world. Theirs was a reflection of my own; things seeped through. ~ within Chapter 8

Format: Paperback | Pages: 350 | Release Date: May 2011 | Publisher: New American Library
"Hard Bitten" [Chicagoland Vampires Series, Book 4] by Chloe Neill
My Book Summary : Merit has been a vampire for a couple of months now. During that time shes been made Sentinel of the Cadogan House, had to fight in quite a few battles, had to fight her burning attraction for Ethan (the vampire who turn her into a vampire), and more.
However, now Ethan and Merit have Chicago's Mayor breathing down their necks about some vampire raves that have gotten tougher and public .... saying that if they don't fix them (or find the culprit) quickly then drastic measures will be taken against them. Along with that, outside the Cadogan House they are dealing with protesters screaming "No more vampires!", someone new who wants to clean up Chicago (meaning kicking them out), and having to deal with a vampire checking up on the Chicago vamp houses.
To deal with everything Merit will have to ask friends/alliances (old and new) to help ... even if that means getting into the dark underground world of Chicago's supernatural community ....
My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!!! ::::WARNING----THIS BOOK HAD ME IN TEARS BY THE END OF IT:::: I loved Merit as always! Her relationship with Ethan takes some major turns ... some I loved and some I royally hated especially since I really want them to end up together in the end. And WOW .... the ending has a twist I NEVER expected! I am soooo curious now about what Merit's "future vision" she had in "Twice Bitten" [Chicagoland Vampires, Book 3] means. Since what I thought was going to happen doesn't look like it'll happen anymore. =0(
Book Teaser(s) :
His expression---half sorrowful resignation, half pride---mirrored my own emotions. "I didn't train you, invest in you, so that you could give yourself over to the GP as some kind of Windy City sacrifice."
His voice was soft, earnest, but there was emotion in his eyes. Real emotion.
"I don't intend to be a sacrifice. And I don't intend to let you be one, either."
He looked away. "They have an eye on the House. They'll know what we're doing." Here comes the kicker, I thought, bracing myself. "Not if you're not involved." ~ within Chapter 10 - titled 'Like A Boss'

My Book Summary : Tess and Nick are so different for each other that they are perfect for each other .... now if only they can both figure it out before it's to late.
Tess grew up in a commune during the sixties, while Nick had a pretty normal blue-collar childhood. Nick is now a conservative Republican lawyer who has his eye set out for becoming partner at his law-firm, while Tess sticks up for what she believes in anyway possible (even if it means protesting or something bigger) and just recently lost her teaching position. But those aren't their only differences it's just the tip of the iceberg ... and many of those reasons are why Tess broke up with Nick about a month ago. So, why is Nick standing in front of her door looking like he's needing something??
That's because he is .... he needs her to pretend to be his fiancee for a weekend business trip. But can she do it, after everything they've been through?
Sure, why not? They're friends still, right? And it's not like they have any feelings or sexual attraction for each other still, right?
Well ... they will certainly know the answers to those questions once the weekend is through .... but will that stop them from trying to change each other into their perfect match?
My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, Tess and Nick were quite a pair to read about. Especially with their different points of view and even though they wanted different things (out of each other and in life), they never really gave up on each other and stuck it through. It was a really sweet and funny novel. I'd recommended it to anyone who enjoys reading about romantic comedies. =0)
"What's romantic about going back to your apartment?" Tess asked him, annoyed.
"What's romantic about doing it in the front seat of a sports car?" Nick retaliated. "Hell, I'm not even sure it's possible. There's not that much room."
"We could have found out," Tess said. "But no, you had to be respectable and responsible---"
"Besides, I have a career on the line here---"
"---and dull and boring---"
"---which I realize means nothing to you---"
"---and completely unexciting---"
"---but it means a lot to me---"
"---not to mention a grave comment on how little you actually wanted me---"
"---or at least enough that I'm not going to risk it for sex in a car---"
"---which is why I see no reason in pursuing this relationship---"
"---and anyway I prefer beds---"
"---so you can just go back to your own bed!" Tess flared.
"---like this one, for example," Nick finished.
"What?" ~ within Chapter 5
