All of his baser instincts were coming out in full force tonight. All over a little sprite of a girl who tasted and felt like heaven. ~ within Chapter 6
Natalie kept him on his toes. She said whatever was on her mind, she got mad at him when chicks rarely did, plus she was so incredibly responsive. She was fucking perfect for him.
So perfect it was almost scary. ~ within Chapter 7
TEASER for Melissa Foster's CATCHING CASSIDY
"What was easier?"
"You are the loveliest female I have ever seen," he said softly. "I can see why your husband has fought against such odds to keep you by his side, even though he must realize it will end badly. How cruel the gods are to allow such a creature to wear your beauty when all you touch withers and dies." ~ within Chapter 2
"I'll do the talking." Asher's voice cut through the silence.
"I suppose I will do the listening then. Perhaps nod appropriately to punctuate your points."
His sigh was long suffering. "I don't trust you to negotiate in your current state of mind."
Amusement laced my voice. "What state of mind is that?"
He scoffed. "No male alive would answer that question if he wanted to remain breathing." ~ within Chapter 6
"I think I liked you better when you scowled and grunted at me."
He twisted his face into his best scowl, the expression far more familiar than his smile.
"There." He crossed his arms over his chest. "Is that any better?"
"It's too late now." I sighed for dramatic effect. "You've proven yourself kind and capable."
He jerked his chin aside, shunning me. "Flattery will get you nowhere with me."
"Fine." I rotated my tender shoulders. "You're a brute. Satisfied?"
He tilted his head. "As I said, flattery will get you nowhere." ~ within Chapter 12

We face each other, and the smile slips from my face as I see the intensity of his look. He steps towards me, cupping his hands around the back of my neck, and pulls me to him.
I'm breathless as our lips touch for the first time in nearly a year. His are soft, warm, so perfect, that I find myself leaning into it, the world around us disappearing. It's him and me and the night and nothing more.
And then the fireworks explode above us. ~ within Chapter 21
"I would never reveal my accomplices," he says.
"Of course it's plural," Bailey mutters under her breath. "He probably had half the cowboys on this ranch filling Solo cups all morning. How did we not catch wind of this?"
I ignore Bailey's commentary and stare down Landon instead. "We'll get you back for this you know," I say.
Landon grins. "Aw, just look at your face; 'it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.'"
I drop my jaw. "Shaun of the Dead does not count as a classic horror movie. It's a satire at best. A total blight on zombie movies everywhere."
His grin just widens, so I shake my head and close our cabin door, not ready to deal with dumping out the water and stacking up thousands of cups. Landon is entirely too smug over there in the shade, enjoying his tea. ~ within Chapter 25
