I can give you all the lovin' in the whole wide world!

You can only fake it for so long .... which is exactly what happens in "Faking It" by Elisa Lorello.

Prostitution is the oldest profession in the world.
Rhetoric is the second oldest.

Andi has just moved back to Long Island, and is working her almost dream job at Brooklyn University. During a cocktail party that she was attending with some friends she meets Devin. A hot, polished, suave, stud who happens to be attending the party with a colleague of hers. After some asking around she finds out that he is actually a hired escort ..... who just so happens to keep eying her throughout the night. A while later she happens to call Devin up (even though she knows she can afford him) and they come to an agreement ..... he'll help her gain her missing confidence with herself (her body/sexuality) and she'll teach him more about the written word (and how to write). Almost by day one of their meetings, Andi is infatuated with Devin but he specifically stated: "...I'm going to tell you the one stipulation that I have with my clients: You absolutely cannot fall in love with me." ... so, she has to hide it as much as possible. And then by halfway through their arrangement they both break the rules of their contract by meeting up with each other to hang out on days that they aren't teaching rhetoric or dancing while half naked ..... becoming not completely friends yet not lovers either. But as their contract is coming to an end and their lives throw new obstacles into the mix will Andi and Devin become something even more? Or will someone new come in and sweep Andi off her feet?

2.5 out of 5 stars. I loved the writing! I especially loved the friendship and romance between Andi and Devin .... it's like they are so scared of falling for each other that it makes their relationship that much more special. However, I was a bit disappointed by the ending .... could have been better. *shrug*
