#BlogTour - Let Love Rule by Jacqueline Simon Gunn / @DrJSimonGunn | Book Release, Spreading the Word & GC #Giveaways @SDSXXTours

Let Love Rule
Where You'll Land Book 3
by Jacqueline Simon Gunn
Genre: Contemporary Romance

From award-winning author Jacqueline Simon Gunn comes the long-awaited third book in her Where You’ll Land series, a story about trauma, healing, love and discovering who we are by the choices we make.

Will Easton had been running from old wounds for too long when a tragedy sends him to his hometown, offering him the opportunity to revisit his past and learn to trust again. Once back at graduate school, he vows to take more risks, especially with his heart. When he meets Rachel, he is immediately drawn to her. But there are two problems: She’s still married, and he feels an obligation to his on-again/off-again girlfriend who stood by him. No matter how much he wants to be loyal, he feels a strong pull toward this new woman.

Rachel Dale finally found the strength to cut the cord to her cheating husband. When she meets Will, she finds herself irresistibly attracted to him. But he appears to have a girlfriend, and she refuses to become the other woman in someone else’s story. Besides, learning to trust another man is going to be hard. Trusting herself and her judgment after her husband’s betrayals is even harder. Meanwhile, her soon-to-be-ex is not letting her go easily. He could destroy any chance she and Will might have... if he ever leaves his girlfriend.

As Will and Rachel struggle to make the right choices, they both learn that saying they’ll trust again doesn’t mean it’ll be easy. In this complex, psychological romance, the most important choices are the ones that break the rules.

Let Love Rule can be read as a stand-alone.

They say that things just cannot grow beneath the winter snow

"Snowbound" by Janice Kay Johnson was such a disappointment. I picked it up from Amazon.com since they had it free if you had an iPod or a Kindle and it was on the top of the list for supposedly being so good. But ehhh. =0P

It's about a teacher who is driving back (in a snowstorm) from an out-of-town event with a group of her students (8 teens). They decided to take the quickest route back ... not knowing that that highway closes in the winter. Thankfully the route they took has a lodge on it. The owner of this lodge is a gentleman who just got discharged from the military, and is dealing with his own set of problems. During the teacher (and her group's) 3 night stay at the lodge waiting for the storm to let-up, the teacher and the owner build a connection ..... and they see if they can make it work afterwords.

I mean the setting was good and so was the plot/point of the story. But if I wanted to read about war scenes then I would have picked up a nonfiction or history type of book, not a romance. And even though the story was a short one, for how she dragged it out making so everyone was so indecisive .... I was just happy to see it end.

    2 out of 5 stars.

I've found a reason for me, To change who I used to be, A reason to start over new ...

Betrayal of the ones we love are the hardest things to get past, in "Catch A Mate" by Gena Showalter all the characters deal with their own or others betrayals on almost a daily basis. Catch A Mate is a business where people who believe their significant other is cheating on them and want to find out if their accusations are accurate or not. All that person would have to do is hire Catch a Mate and an employee (called the bait) would find that significant other at a club (or some place they normally hang out) and try picking them up but at the end they don't follow it through, and they record it all so the spouse will know the truth. Jillian has worked at Catch A Mate for over 6 years and would love to take it over to make it even better then it already is. Marcus just happened to purchase the business from Jillian's boss. Both have major trust issues ... but will they learn that even though they want to stay enemies, they'll never find anyone else they could trust more then each other?

2 out of 5 stars. Don't let the rating fool you ... it was a really good book ... cute. I mean I loved all of the characters! Main and secondary stories were awesome! However ... the ending ruined it for me .... it felt like Gena tried to wrap everything up to fast. Yet I don't know how it could have been written any better either. Which is sad since I liked it right up until there was about a quarter left in the book. =0(

Made the Grade: A Bride for All Seasons Series, Book 1

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 528 KB | Release Date: February 2009 | Publisher: Harlequin Books

"The Bride's Baby" [A Bride for All Seasons Series, Book 1] by Liz Fielding

My Book Summary : Sylvie has planned so many weddings that she is now the most sought after Bridal Planner, however when one of her friends decides on ditching their groom three days before their wedding for one of her employees her whole world changes.

Tom has just been left/dumped by his run away bride and now wants to confront the person who he would like to lay the blame on, Sylvie, especially since it was her employee. While hassling her at a meeting to go over the invoices that he needs to pay for the wedding, even though it never happened, sparks fly in more ways then one! Once the dusts settles they find they can't deny what is between them any longer, and they find themselves together in his bed.

Afterwords, Tom leaves the country as he planned but can't get her out of his mind, while Sylvie finds out she's pregnant and plans for what will happen next, and it is all uphill for them miscommunications galore! Will the truth ever come out before it's too late?

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars. Predictable but cute story! The good thing about it was that with all of the miscommunications between them it was written in a way that didn't make me feel like either character was annoying or make me not like one character because of how they could have acted.

    Book Teaser :
"Tell me what he's seeing that's making him melt," Geena persisted.
His gaze dropped to the unmistakable bulge where his baby was growing beneath her heart and, shattering the illusion, said, "Sackcloth and ashes would do it." Then, turning abruptly away, "Mark, have you got everything you need in here?" ~ within Chapter 4

I don’t know but I think I maybe fallin’ for you. Dropping so quickly, maybe I should keep this to myself, waiting ’til I know you better.

Format: Hardcover | Pages: 267 | Release Date: August 2004 | Publisher: Delacorte Press

"The Immortal Highlander" [The Highlander Series, Book 6] by Karen Marie Moning -- In this novel Ms. Moning took Adam Black from villain Book 1 (and maybe a few others in this series) and made him the hero! Basically Adam had been a considerable grievance to the Faery Queen in fighting against the High Council and her to save a mortals life, and because of that she punished him by taking his powers away, making him human, and making him invisible to all the mortals around him for an unknown period of time.

After a couple of months later at an impasse of what he might do to let the Faery Queen give back his immortality, a sidhe-seer named Gabrielle (Gabby) gets caught looking at him and he realizes she might just be able to save him.

Gabby tries to fight off his lure, but with his charms he is hard to keep resisting, and she just might be falling for one of the "things" her grandmother had told her always to stay away from. But what will happen once Adam gets his powers back? And with someone on Adam's tail trying to kill him over centuries old arguments while he's in human form, will they even survive before they get Adam to speak to the Queen?

4.5 out of 5 stars! It's a wonderful love story! Loved the characters! In addition, if you are a fan of the Fever series then you MUST read this book since it will give you a little more background info on Darroc -- why he was punished the way he was and how he started becoming what he is now.

My Previous Review(s) for this Series: Book 1

Feasted On: Falling For Gracie by Susan Mallery

Format: Paperback | Pages: 347 | Release Date: reissue - January 2009 | Publisher: HQN Books

"Falling For Gracie" [Los Lobos Series, Book 2] by Susan Mallery

My Book Summary : When we're young, crushes usually come and go, but when Gracie was fourteen she tried to hold onto her crush by doing anything possible. She was upset that Riley never liked her or even was nice to her back (even though he was four years older then her), that she made his life a living hell, by sticking a skunk into his car to slipping diarrhea pills into his soup before the school dance.

Now fourteen years later she's finally back to the hometown where it all took place. Even though she's been over her crush for some time now (or so she thinks), her past antics have made her a legend and not one that she is proud of. Therefore, she's planning to do everything in her power to stay as far from Riley as possible. But it's hard to accomplish when people around her keep putting her into situations where they run into each other....

After talking a few times they, both realize that they have more in common then, either could have believed, and they become friends. However, with Riley running for Mayor, they find that some people in town will do anything to see both of their reputations ruined...

Will they make it through? And quite possibly become closer then either ever believed possible....

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars. Very cute, quite funny, and I loved Riley and Gracie! I breezed through this book not wanting to put it down until the end! I will admit that the ending was kind of corny but that still didn't ruin the book for me. =0)

My Previous Review(s) for this Author : Tempting | Accidentally Yours

    Book Teaser :
"We can't do this, Gracie. I have rules and one of them says the women in question is easily forgotten. We both know you're not that."
She pressed her hands against his chest. "Are you referring to my stalker past? Haven't we talked about you letting that go?" ~ within Chapter 6

Husbands ... just can't have enough of them

Last night I finished reading .. "Husbands" by Adele Parks, which I'll give it 3 out of 5 stars. I mean .. it was a good book and I think I loved it right up until the last few chapters. =0P

It's about Bella/Belinda who is thirty but is still living in the past (even though she thinks she's moved on). The problem is when she moves on she has a tendency to ignore things like '2 weeks notices' or telling those around her how she really feels ... so she just walks away (by avoiding calls or moving). Which is how she has gotten into the mess that the book talks about.

It starts off about her married life with her husband Phil ... and how wonderful that life is. Then her best friend Laura gets a new boyfriend ... and the twist is that this boyfriend of Laura's is Bella/Belinda's 1st and current husband Stevie, whom she left about 8 years previously without any note and never divorced from.

Throughout the book it's all about how Bella/Belinda is planning on handling her mess of a situation (since she has 2 husbands). The book is funny, charming, and sweet ... making you wish that everything will work out for the best. And I will admit I like who all the characters ended up with. Yet I guess I just don't like the ending ... it could have been better.

However, I think I will look into more of Adele Parks' books since I do like her writing style. And I do love me some British literature. =0) To find out more about her and her books yourself ... then check out Adele's website.
