I don’t know but I think I maybe fallin’ for you. Dropping so quickly, maybe I should keep this to myself, waiting ’til I know you better.
Format: Hardcover | Pages: 267 | Release Date: August 2004 | Publisher: Delacorte Press"The Immortal Highlander" [The Highlander Series, Book 6] by Karen Marie Moning -- In this novel Ms. Moning took Adam Black from villain Book 1 (and maybe a few others in this series) and made him the hero! Basically Adam had been a considerable grievance to the Faery Queen in fighting against the High Council and her to save a mortals life, and because of that she punished him by taking his powers away, making him human, and making him invisible to all the mortals around him for an unknown period of time.
After a couple of months later at an impasse of what he might do to let the Faery Queen give back his immortality, a sidhe-seer named Gabrielle (Gabby) gets caught looking at him and he realizes she might just be able to save him.
Gabby tries to fight off his lure, but with his charms he is hard to keep resisting, and she just might be falling for one of the "things" her grandmother had told her always to stay away from. But what will happen once Adam gets his powers back? And with someone on Adam's tail trying to kill him over centuries old arguments while he's in human form, will they even survive before they get Adam to speak to the Queen?
4.5 out of 5 stars! It's a wonderful love story! Loved the characters! In addition, if you are a fan of the Fever series then you MUST read this book since it will give you a little more background info on Darroc -- why he was punished the way he was and how he started becoming what he is now.

Like a bolt out of the blue, Fate steps in and sees you through. When you wish upon a star, Your dreams come true.
Format: Paperback | Pages: 375 | Release Date: March 1999 [Reissue edition] | Publisher: Dell"Beyond the Highland Mist" [The Highlander Series, Book 1] by Karen Marie Moning -- This novel is set up with three situations going on that make this whole scenario that much more complicated.
First - We have Hawk. He's a Scotland laird from 1500's who is a legend to everyone around him, with his beautiful looks and his exceptionally knowledgeable skills in the bedroom, Hawk seems to be sought after by every female and is the envy of every man. However, for many years he hasn't been able to joy his skills and other delights as much as he use to, especially while he has been under the King's thumb having to do whatever he is told (even if it means having to bed woman he turned down). Just as his years of service are coming to an end, the King makes one more command; Hawk has to marry a lady called Mad Janet (who has spent most of her life trapped in a tower for unknown reasons).
Second - We have the King and the fool (aka the jester, aka Adam Black) of the fairy court. One day the Queen of the fairy court tells the King and Adam that she has been with Hawk and that he is everything that the legend states of him and more, all in attempt to make them jealous. And jealous they do get. So, the King and Adam plan on revenge against Hawk, to find him a woman who he can never have.
Third - We have Adrienne. She is from the 21st century, and has had very bad experiences with beautiful man. One in particular who used her without her knowledge for such a long time that once she found out his scams, he tried to kill her. And from then on she made a vow to hate all beautiful men, since she assumes they are all the same.
And so ... Adam chooses Adrienne and brings her back to the 1500's to fill Mad Janet’s place and marry Hawk. But can the legend melt her heart? Or will the fairy's revenge work?
3 out of 5 stars. Good book ... however, the tale was too drawn out ... and the issues could have been resolved sooner and possibly would have been a better book that way. =0P I did like the characters though! =0)

Someday we’ll know, If love can move a mountain ...
Can two people, who've grown up as sworn enemies, ever become something more? In "Comanche Moon" (part of the The Comanche Series) by Catherine Anderson is about a prophecy and how it brings these two people from opposing sides, Hunter of the Wolf and Loretta, together during 1860's life in Texas. Both have means to hate each other as both of their "people" have killed each others loved ones. But could that common difference actually bring them together or rip them apart even more?3 out of 5 stars. It's definitely a telling story of those who lived during the Civil War time period. I mean everyone is just defending their own loved ones, the only problem is that (like what still happens now in any war) the ones who really get hurt and the ones that aren't even fighting in the war (the women and children). Very touching, and emotional. Good read. (However .... I think it dragged in a few areas ... still good though.)

Feasted On: Victoria and the Rogue by Meg Cabot

My Book Summary : Victoria has grown up with her three bachelor uncles in India ever since her parents died when she was very little. But now since she is sixteen they have shipped her off to live with her other aunt & uncle in England, and to find herself a husband. And even though her uncles made a wager as to how long it would take her to get a man to propose to her, she proves them all wrong by accepting a proposal while on the ship taking her to England!
Hugo is handsome and says the sweetest things to her ... and it doesn't hurt that he is a work-in-progress and needs her helping hand (and money) every once in a while (or more). But as she soon realizes that all might now be as it seems when it comes to her husband-to-be or his family. Especially since for a family who is on the decline (money wise), they surely do spend enough of it. Plus, it doesn't help that Captain Jacob Carstairs keeps telling her that Hugo is a rogue!!! Which just can't be! The Captain doesn't help any by always seeming to be around the corner or annoying Victoria by doing all sorts of things (especially when he calls her Miss Bee -- for being such a busy body). *sigh* What is a girl to do?
And then ..... maybe is this one situation where Victoria has it all wrong?
My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! CUTE & FUNNY to the extreme! Victoria and the Captain are so cute with their arguments. And I love how this is written like a first person passage but it goes into details that make it feel like the childhood stories I grew up with (but it's definitely a young adult book).

However, while trying to seek out as much adventure she can before she goes back to the abbey to take her final vows (which she really does not want to do), Mercia decides to take a trip to the beach. Once she gets there she finds an injured man on the beach, and she feels hard pressed to help him.
Mercia set him up in a nearby cave and tends to his wounds. After the man regains consciousness, she finds that as he gets better he still doesn’t know who he is, but she still feels drawn to him just the same.
Back at her home, her family is still waiting for Rowena’s betrothed to arrive, and when his guards arrive without him, a search is set out.
What will happen once the man remembers who he is? Will Mercia be able to stay with this man and not complete her vows? Will Rowena’s betrothed ever arrive?
3.5 out of 5 stars! It's kind of like a Cinderella story, only without the Fairy Godmother and the Step Family, and kinda set into the real world of that time period. So - of COURSE I liked it! Very cute! Quite charming!

Pages: 355 | Release Date: August 2009"Sleepless In Scotland" [MacLean Curse Series, Book 4] by Karen Hawkins -- Living in 1811 and being in London's High Society, have its consequences if you do not keep up decorum. This is what happens to Caitriona and Hugh when they try saving their siblings from themselves, however instead their plans backfire. Then they find themselves in compromising positions (at least for 1811), and since other people become aware of the situation they ended up in, the two are forced to marry each other.
Even though both do not want to marry each other, Caitriona tries to make the best of it, while Hugh tries to keep her from being as involved in his life as much as he can – especially when that means anything to with his daughters. Now with only a few months together (per Hugh’s “order”), so Caitriona can rebuild her reputation then move back into her family’s home, she has put up with the family she married into, that seems to not want her there, while trying to make them realize she is exactly what they needed. Will she succeed before it’s too late?
4 out of 5 stars. It's the first time I've read a book from this series and if this book is any estimation of the whole series then I would definitely recommend it to all of you! It was sweet, funny, and a great historical romance!!
