Feasted On: The Boys Back Home by Sierra Dafoe

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 110 KB | Release Date: August 19, 2008 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Amazon.com

"The Boys Back Home" by Sierra Dafoe (aka Natasha Moore)

My Book Summary : Years ago Cassie left her hometown after she witnessed her two best friends (and longtime crushes), Kyle & Alan, hooking up in the parking lot of their local bar because she naive, scared, and believed that because of their relationship they wouldn't want her in their lives anymore. Now she's returning home to make sure that she is over her feeling for them before she commits herself to a marriage with the man she's been with for during the time she was away. However, when Kyle & Alan see Cassie again they have other plans of their own, plans that if accomplished, Cassie will be staying permanently with them forever...

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! This is an erotic feast that spices you up with a plot keeps you wanting more. Even though this is a short story, it is filled with love and passion. So much so, that I didn't want to put it down. Cassie, Kyle & Alan were a great pairing.

I recommend this novella to anyone who enjoys M/M/F romances!!

Book Teaser(s) :
You like her.
It had been Alan who'd spoken first, his gaze fixed on the muddy water. Kyle had glanced at him sidelong, feeling a sudden blush heat his cheeks. You like her too, he'd retorted, expecting---or hoping, maybe---Alan to flare up in loud denial.
He hadn't. His silence had been all the answer needed. ~ within Chapter 3

Made the Grade: Speed Series, Book 2

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 290 KB | Release Date: July 24, 2012 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Amazon.com

"Colors Of Love" [Speed Series, Book 2] by Jess Dee

My Book Summary : Seth, the youngest member and the guitarist of the rock band Speed, has been the lover to Luke, Speed's manager, for the past five years. He is so in love with Luke, and feels that Luke loves him just as much, that he wants to turn their relationship into a committed monogamous one. However, Luke is still dealing with demons from his past that he has always been afraid will come up and break them apart. Therefore, Luke decides that it's time to break off the relationship that he has with Seth. To do so Luke would like to find the perfect person for Seth so that when Luke walks away Seth will already have someone else he's in love with to turn too.

Hence, when Luke meets Karen (Kaz) at one of Speed's concerts he immediately thinks that she is perfect for Seth. So, he brings Kaz into a threesome with him and Seth. Their sexual encounters are hot and steamy, leaving them all very happy, up until Luke makes his plan to break off from the group. Will Kaz be able to help these two men she's come to care about heal old wounds and complete their relationship? Or will Luke get away with his plans after all?

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, it's about what it takes to be truthful to yourself while coming to terms with what is holding you back. This is the first time I've read a ménage romance where only two-people end up together by the end of the novel where all three of the people involved are happy about it. Which was a surprise to read, and I was a bit disappointed since I wanted them all to work out together, yet I enjoyed that everyone was pleased with the circumstances that took place and everything ended. I really liked Kaz, Luke, and Seth, especially since all their mixed personalities equaled them all out.

I recommend this novel to anyone who has read "See You In My Dreams," to anyone who enjoys ménage and/or M/M romances, and to those who like reading erotic romances about rock stars!!

Besides, she couldn’t seem to drag her feet away from him. Plus, she wanted answers.
“Later?” she asked him.
He drew back to look at her in confusion.
“You said you’d answer my question later.”
The twinkle was back in his eye. “I will. I’ll answer all your questions. Because believe me, by then you’re going to have more than just one.”
What the...? What else was there to ask? “Mate, the concert’s about to begin. There isn’t going to be a later.”
He looked at her with eyes as liquid and enticing as melted chocolate. “Yeah, there will be. After the concert.” ~ within Chapter 3
For now, she wanted only to feel. To escape. Her life outside of this suite was complicated, needed fixing. Just for tonight, she didn’t want to think about that. Didn’t want to work on her problems. Just for tonight she wanted to take the escape route Jordan and Luke so generously offered.
“Jordan,” Luke said. “We may have a problem.”
Kaz’s heart stuttered.
“What’s that?” Jordan asked.
Luke let his gaze sweep over her body and catch on the jeans that perched on her thighs. “The woman has too many clothes on.”
With a soft laugh, Jordan stood behind her once again and finished undressing her. ~ within Chapter 6

Feasted On: Takhini Wolves Series, Book 2

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 449 KB | Expected Release Date: September 11, 2011 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Vivian Arend

"Silver Mine" [Takhini Wolves Series, Book 2] by Vivian Arend

My Book Summary : It's been ten years since Shelley has been back to her hometown of Whitehorse and the Takhini pack. However, other than getting to be around her older half-sister, Caroline, again and opening up her veterinary/doctors office soon she isn't very excited to be back. Especially since, it was the Takhini pack that ran her away from the area in the first place because of her being a wolf shifter who can't shift. Nevertheless, since Caroline swears that Evan, the current Takhini Pack's Alpha, has changed and made the pack better Shelley is willing to give the area a try again.

Therefore, while setting up her office Shelley meets Chase, a Métis--which means he has a dual nature--of cougar/wolf and the "Alpha" of the outcast shifters living in the Keno area. They have an insistent attraction between them that grows more and more with every moment they share together but Shelley gave up sex with shifters a long time ago to get away from their mind games and doesn't intend to turn back on her plan. However, some of the best laid plans can get out of hand too, which is what happens between Shelley and Chase when they spend a time together finding a cure to the unfamiliar disease spreading among shifters living in the Keno area. Will they be able to accomplish their search for a cure without falling for each other or is it inevitable?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! This is the way I hoped the Takhini Wolves Series would be--inventive, spicy, and a whole fun new cast of characters!!! And .... boy ... do I really like the characters! Chase and Shelley are one hot item that I'm soo happy to read about! They have complications that I wasn't sure how they would work out but through their determination and big hearts, they make it through it all. In addition, I LOVED the characters living in the Keno area pack! I really hope that they will be, or at the very least Chase and Shelley, will be in or mentioned in the next few books.

The plot was more thought out and had a better follow through then the first book in this series, which is probably why I liked it as much as I did. Along with the wonderful characters and the antics, they got into!

I recommend this novel and series to anyone who enjoys paranormal romances with a little bit of adventure.

- On a side note -
After Frank explained about bears love lives I kept on hoping that Shelley would find out that she was part bear so that would be the reason to her problem, making it so Caroline (her older sister) would be unknowingly a full bear shifter. *crossing fingers* *sigh* We'll have to wait and see then I guess. =0/

Book Teaser(s) :
She pulled out a pad of paper and asked him questions. The usual overall health and history. When he mentioned his Métis blood, her eyes widened but she stayed professional. Now that she was over her initial shock, she'd slipped into the smoothest bedside manner he'd ever seen.
His cock got hard just thinking about beds and her at the same time.
Her scent floored him. This time, it wasn't just the wolf that was interested, but the cougar as well, and that bastard was the pickiest thing when it came to females.
"Chase."
He'd gone and lost all train of thought. "Sorry. What?" ~ within Chapter 4
"Will we hike back to your cabin tonight?"
"Partway."
"I can walk. I'm tired, but I can go for a while."
He hummed noncommittally. "How's your arm feel?"
"How's your shoulder?" she snapped back.
Chase snorted. "Woman, you are so not good at the do everything you're told thing."
Carrying on a conversation made it easier to ignore exactly what she was doing to the body in front of her. "You'd have been bored. Admit it."
"I would have been completely bored," he drawled. ~ within Chapter 16

"Black Gold" [Takhini Wolves Series, Book 1] by Vivian Arend

My Book Summary : Gemmita (Gem) has lived a sheltered life within her father's pack in Georgia. Therefore, as a way to spread her wings she decides to take a trip to Alaska so she can complete some research for her major by herself. However, her gold of taking control of her life becomes more difficult when she finds her mate...

Even though Shaun is apart of the Takhini Pack he makes a point to play by his own rules. Yet when he finds that Gem is his mate he's elated and finds he wants to become a better man for her. In doing so while they go on an adventure into the Alaskan wilderness for Gem's research, they'll also find what it really means to be mated to someone else. Will these two opposites be able to handle each other? Or will they find the true meaning of working together...

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars!! This is a fun and charming novel that keeps you on your toes!! For the main characters in this novel, Gem & Shaun, I find them very cute together and I loved how enthusiastic Gem was when finding out about everything that came new for her. Gem is a stubborn and tough "princess" who is used to getting her way. Shaun is a "lone wolf" who is used to breaking the rules but is very protective for those he considers friends, family, and apart of his pack. I liked them together. Yet I wasn't a fan of Gem's "independence routine." Because even though I could understand her freaking out at the beginning of Shaun and her relationship I feel that Gem used that line as her fall back for everything. After awhile of her saying that more then three times I kinda got sick of it. =0P

Anyway ...

When I first picked up this novel, I was hoping for it to be like Vivian's Granite Lake Wolves Series, which I am a big fan of, but after reading "Black Gold," I find this series to be more dramatic and deals with more of the pack per book then the Granite Lake Wolves Series. It wasn't good or bad just different and took some time in getting used to.

With that being said, I did enjoy the fact that it gives the reader a broader idea as to how the Takhini pack works. In addition, I'm very curious as to where Evan and Caroline's relationship will go since I hope that they'll somehow find out that they are meant-to-be together but I have a feeling they aren't. =0/

I have high hope for this series!! I recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of Vivian's Granite Lake Wolves Series or for those who like paranormal romances!!

- On a side note -
TJ, from "Wolf Tracks," makes an appearance in this novel!!

My Previous Review(s) for this Author : Tidal Wave | Wolf Games | Whirlpool | Wolf Tracks | Wolf Signs

Book Teaser(s) :
Oh my goodness. This couldn't be...could it?
She cleared her throat. Maybe she was overtired from the trip. But that shouldn't be enough to make her react as if she was in the midst of a sexual encounter.
Was Evan her mate?
The notion terrified her. Not because she didn't expect a life partner to appear some day, but finding her mate right now would cause a lot of trouble. One more issue to deal with while she fought for independence. And an Alpha whose territory was a fifteen-hour flight away from home? Oh boy. Daddy would have kittens. ~ within Chapter 2
Life had alternated between incredible and stinky, based on whether he'd remembered to shut the hell up and let her have some control, or if he'd flipped back into his usual do as he pleased mode.
It was a lot more difficult than he had thought it would be, to make a radical change in his life and attitude. At times it seemed he had made progress. Others? He was scared there was no freaking was this relationship would work. It was like tossing his wolf into the kitchen and demanding the beast make a gourmet meal. The result wouldn't look pretty even if he tried his damnedest. ~ within Chapter 9

"Anything You Want" [Anything & Everything Series, Book 1] by Erin Nicholas

My Book Summary : Sabrina (Seattle - Marc's nickname for her) has always been close to Luke ever since she was 13 years old and he protected her from her father's overbearing ways. Since that day on, he has been her hero, her best friend, her safety net, the person she always called when she desperately needed something. At least that was until 4 years ago when she tried to take their relationship to the next level (from friends to lovers) and found out that even though she truly cared for Luke she just couldn't settle into the lifestyle he wanted. Therefore, she left for Seattle and never looked back (for the most part)....

Now it's 4 years later, her dreams of being a famous singer still have not come true, she's broke because someone recently stole all of her money, and is .... pregnant! On her way back to her hometown, her car brakes down and she's stranded with nowhere to go and no one to call but Luke. However, Luke isn't the one who comes to rescue her ... Marc does.

When Marc was in 5th Grade, his family died in a car accident and Luke and Luke's family were kind enough to take him in and adopt him. Ever since then he has loved them and would do anything to protect them. Even if that means stepping in and keeping Sabrina away from Luke, so she cannot break his heart again. Now if only he can try to protect himself and his heart from Sabrina too...

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, this is a story of finding one's true passion, of overcoming one's fears, and fulfilling those dreams! I really loved the characters!! Sabrina/Seattle is clever, funny, smart-mouthed, and witty while being a passionate singer. Marc is protective, creative, amusing, cocky, flirtatious, and dynamic while being a passionate chef. Together they are the perfect duo to keep each other on their toes while being very supportive of each other’s dreams.

With that being said, I was very annoyed with how Sabrina kept falling back on Luke. I mean I understand that that was the whole point of the plot but it's like as soon as she gets around Luke she second-guesses her choices and wants making her seem like she looses her backbone altogether. This is why I loved her with Marc because they played off each other well. In addition, when they were together it's the only time that Sabrina made any real choices that worked well for her and were "smart" choices.

I recommend this novel to anyone who likes to read a good contemporary romance that has a little comedy thrown in!

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 308 KB | Expected Release Date: May 1, 2012 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Jodi Redford

"Breaking Bad" [Midnight Justice Series, Book 3] by Jodi Redford

My Book Summary : After recently finding out about her true heritage Ruby plans to become the superhero she was always meant to be. However, she soon realizes that being a superhero is a whole lot harder than it looks, especially when she finds herself trapped by her uncle’s minions.

Teague doesn't have any plans of becoming a superhero. All he wants to do is exact his revenge on the man who murdered his mentor and friend years ago. Nevertheless, when he finds out that Ruby needs his help he can't just turn away. Therefore, he plans to use his powers to help Ruby get out of a jam then they'll be able to go their separate ways, right? Wrong! Especially if Ruby has anything to say about it!

It doesn't help that they were both caught on tape using their powers. Now Teague feels obligated to protect Ruby, even from her do-gooding-self and even if it means becoming the hero, he never wanted to be. But can they save Earth before they're caught and it's all too late?

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars, this is an electric story about two people that are coming to terms with their pasts while they're trying to save the world from an evil overlord's rule. In some ways, this novel reminded me of Marianne Mancusi's "Moongazer." Mostly in the way, that they are both novels about a heroine learning about whom they truly are while trying to protect their world from a corrupt government/overlord.

I liked the characters and definitely enjoyed the interplay between Teague and Ruby! I just wish the plot was a bit thicker so I could have gotten into it a bit more. Overall, it’s a fun, light, sex heavy novel that was easy to enjoy!

I recommend it to anyone who is fans of Jodi's other books!

Teaser #1
Teague pressed into her, the firm, muscular planes of his chest and abdomen contouring to her back like the delicious, masculine version of memory foam. “How about now? Feeling anything?”
She gulped, not entirely certain he wasn’t referring to the thick bulge of his erection prodding the base of her spine. “Err...possibly.”
“Good.” His hands coasted along her upper arms and over her shoulders. He continued following the slope of her neck, his fingers a maddening butterfly dance along her overheated skin. She shook as he traced the shell of her ears before combing his fingers through her hair, sifting the strands over her shoulders. His deep inhalation stirred the fine hairs at her temple, and she closed her eyes on a shaky breath.
“Do you feel it, Ruby?” His hands retraced their path, this time moving beneath her arms. “Do you feel our energy weaving?”
Oh my God. She did. Teague’s power was a sensual caress along her synapses. It licked at her own energy, engaging it in an erotic tango that felt...like sex. She bit her lip to stifle a moan. ~ within Chapter 8

"Cat Scratch Fever" by Jodi Redford

My Book Summary : Years ago, Lilly's grandfather was swindled out of a big plot of land while playing cards with Dante's father. Therefore, for a while now she has been hounding Dante to sell that plot of land back to her without any success. Nevertheless, is she willing to do just about anything to get back what rightfully belongs to her family, even if it means taking Dante's proposition?

Dante has been avoiding Lilly and her demands for years, but now with his father's mate-bond ultimatum he is in desperate need to find someone to mate with that isn't the girl his father wants, and Lilly seems to be the perfect choice. Especially with the chemistry that flies between them and with Lilly currently being in heat right now the sexual tension is flying high. However, will Dante's pack or Lilly's family allow or approve of this match between them? Will Dante & Lilly be able to keep this proposition only a business agreement between them without letting their hearts get evolved? In addition, will Lilly be able to stand up to the competition that wants to mate with Dante and have Lilly out of the picture?

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, this sexually intense novel is entertaining with all that the drama that ensues between the main characters' budding relationship! I really enjoyed the sarcastic comments and sassy comebacks that fly between Dante and Lilly. Along with reading about the unusual type of things, Dante decides on using as foreplay items. It's really a quick but fun read that is overloaded with sex between the stubborn main characters.

I only wish it didn't end where it did, meaning, "I wish there was more!!" Since where it ends leaves a bunch of questions in the air ... Is Lilly really okay? What happened to Anna? Did Dante's father know anything about what she did? How is there relationship now? If this novel was a part of a series, then I could possibly let the unknown questions slide but since as far as I know it isn't then I wish I could have answers to my questions. However, I AM very happy with how Lilly and Dante's relationship ends up in the book it was quite charming.

I recommend this novel to everyone who's a fan of Jodi's, as well as, those who enjoy reading paranormal erotic romances!!

Book Teaser(s) :
Dante turned and watched the approach of Lilly’s SUV. Even with the distance separating them, he could clearly see the wide-eyed apprehension overtaking her face as she took in the amount of Morgans camped on his porch. He had to give her credit for not flooring it in reverse and hightailing it the fuck out of there.
Hell, it was probably what he would have done.
A weighty silence descended on the group as Lilly parked her vehicle and made the slow trek toward the porch. Dante’s gaze dipped toward her neckline, where the tag for her sweater was hanging out in plain view. She’d jumped into her clothes so fast earlier, he hadn’t noticed she’d put the sweater on backwards.
His mouth quirked, and Lilly glanced down. A groan fell from her. “Aw crap.” Her motions swift, she tugged her scarf in place to cover up her wardrobe malfunction.
Something about her obvious embarrassment stoked his protective instincts. Cupping her elbow, he pulled her close and dropped a kiss on her forehead.
The collective spell of silence that’d gripped his cousins shattered as they all began talking at once. In his typical fashion, Theo outshouted everyone else. “Holy shit, Shane wasn’t talking out of his ass.”~ within Chapter 10

"Getting Familiar With Your Demon" [That Old Black Magic Series, Book 4] by Jodi Redford

My Book Summary : Recently Marabella (Bella) has seen a physic who informed her that she has been cursed with virginity, which would really explain why all of her dates seemly end up leaving her whenever they are on the verge of getting hot and heavy with each other. After one of these types of dates, Bella comes across a very hot demon, Sam, who she can't seem to stop thinking about. However, when she finds him in a situation where he could get himself killed she helps out much to his annoyance.

Sam has recently been relinquished from being tortured and into the hands of someone even worse. The only way he can think of getting out of his predicament is by getting himself killed. Therefore, when Bella protects him, to say he isn't please is an understatement. Nevertheless, both of them leave from that experience believing they'll never see each other again, even though they both were very much attracted to each other.

So, when Sam's cousin finds another way to earn Sam freedom that involves Bella (in a way), he is both intrigued and nauseous at the prospect. However, what was originally one-time meeting turns into something a whole lot more when emotions and other people get involved...

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars!!! This novel is a great new addition to Jodi's That Old Black Magic Series! It takes you on an adventure that you might not expect (I know I didn't) and turns into a wonderful story about love, responsibility, and what it means to have a conscience.

I will admit that the first few chapters made me think I wasn't going to enjoy this novel but around the time that Nikki (one of Sam's cousins) gets kidnapped and they start looking into Bella's past I was so intrigued with this novel that I couldn't help but love it by the end!! The characters are very amusing and clever! I loved the twists in this novel! In addition to finding out that Domino isn't a complete hard ass like I always thought she was. =0)

I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Jodi's That Old Black Magic Series! In addition, this novel could be read as a standalone book (I believe) so if you like paranormal books that deal with demons, witches, reapers and mates then this is the book for you!!

Book Teaser(s) :
Jerking his focus to the stove, he spied a frying pan holding the charcoaled remains of...something. One of the few spatulas he owned was half melted to the burner. What the hell? His patience at an all-time low, he held his breath, crossed to the sink and cranked open the window situated above it. A breeze stirred through, scattering the acrid scent blanketing the kitchen.
He awarded Nikki a baleful glare. “Is there a reason you’re murdering my appliances and utensils?”
“I was making breakfast. Except I’m not very good at it.”
“Clearly.” ~ within Chapter 5
Why deny the natural sexual chemistry between them? It’d only condemn him to a constant hard-on. They could fuck each other’s brains out and leave it at that. It might even kill his obsession with her once and for all.
He slid a glance toward her and noticed she was sniffling. Aw hell. He’d been cock-blocked by a damn chick flick. Shifting his focus to the TV screen, he attempted to deduce what sappiness had her all misty-eyed, but damn if he could figure it out. In the movie, the big guy who apparently liked to dance a lot---but redeemed himself by driving a ’57 Chevy---said something about not putting Baby in a corner before dragging his girlfriend away from the table. From the looks of things, they were going to dance again.
Bloody fuck. Who danced this much? It was abnormal.
Marabella blotted her eyes with a tissue and gave another sniffly sigh. “Now that’s true love.”
“You’ve got to be shittin’ me.” ~ within Chapter 15

The three of them had been inseparable growing up, so when Lucy finds Colby and Silas making out in the barn she's crushed thinking that they have finally found what they want in each other and no longer want her and takes off. However, Silas takes Lucy's leaving after being caught kissing Colby as her being discussed with what they were doing, so with that in mind, and since he's 18-years-old, he decides to take himself out of the equation so he won't be able to hurt his family or Colby and Lucy.

Over the next ten years, Silas is in Alaska working on risky jobs, drinking away his misery over missing his family, their ranch, and the two people he has always loved (Colby and Lucy). Then an accident happens while on the job, injuring him, and sending him back home into the care of Colby and Lucy.

Even though things have changed while Silas has been gone, the one thing that hasn't is Colby and Lucy's love and dedication to each other and their love for Silas, whom they both miss. However, once Silas gets back home will they be able to salvage the relationship they all once shared together and make it grow into something more? Or will everyone else's expectations of what is propriety get in the way of their love?

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! This story is about the lengths people will go through to make sure they put the ones they love above all else, even if what they decide is a little misguided. I really enjoyed this story!! The sex scenes were very hot. You might need to cool yourself off afterwards! In addition, what makes this story really likeable is the plot, it might be short but it worked. I just wished it was a bit longer.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys erotic romances.

My Previous Review(s) for Mari : Tequila Truth

Book Teaser(s) :
A series of three dings proved Seth, Sam and Sawyer waited for him to join. He selected their names from the list onscreen then entered the conference.
"You should have seen them. Smoking hot quadruplets, Sam." Silas's brother out west bragged to his twin. "Two for you, two for me."
"Sawyer Compton, what kind of trouble are you digging up now?" Vicky laughed at the horror on her youngest son's face.
"Dude, a little warning would have been nice before you tossed Mom on the line." To see the Coastie blush made Silas's day. ~ within Chapter 6

Made the Grade: That Old Black Magic Series, Book 3

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 425 KB | Release Date: September 2011 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Jodi Redford

"Maximum Witch" [That Old Black Magic Series, Book 3] by Jodi Redford

My Book Summary : Willa has always been just a witch who would do anything for her friends, yet is known for her glasses and her job. Or so she thought .... Until she finds that, her life is on the line (along with the human race) and the woman who she always believed to be her Aunt (also the one who raised her) tells her otherwise. What is she to do and how will she defeat those who want to create a watery Armageddon on all humankind?

With the help of her new "underwater" friends and one deliciously handsome shark-shifter, they are about to find out.

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars, this delightfully funny, erotic, and adventurous book tells you about Willa, the secrets of her past, and the hot shark-shifter (Max) who's in her life. This book start out from where "The Seven Year Witch" left off, showing us what the consequences were for Willa when she went into the "leviathan’s domain" to help out Clarissa.

This book has plenty of funny and naughty moments going on throughout it too keep the reader going. I loved Max and how his relationship with Willa grows throughout the book. Plus, the added bonus of Willa dealing with her "nympho" ways. *hahaa*

I recommend this book to those who already enjoy the That Old Black Magic Series or Jodi's other books. Also, I recommend it to those who really like some good ol' spicy paranormal romance books. =0)

Book Teaser(s) :
“Relax. I’m just trying to check out your ass.”
She stiffened. Oh hell no. He did not just say that. “Excuse me?”
His hands stilled and he went silent for an awkward moment before he cleared his throat. “Not how I meant it to sound.” The pads of his thumbs brushed near her tailbone, hitting a tender spot that hadn’t been there before. She sucked in a sharp breath.
“Does that hurt?”
Biting her lip to stall any further whimpering, she nodded.
He swore softly. ~ within Chapter 2
“This is a really crappy time to become a gentleman.” She trailed her nails over his tensed glutes, and his pupils dilated in reaction. If he thought there was any chance in hell he wouldn’t be buried inside her within the next five seconds, he was about to be proven wrong. “Up until now, you’ve had no problem sweet talking me into sex.”
“That was before...”
“Before what?”
His fingers glided over her bottom lip. “I knew who you were.”
This was about that? “You cannot be serious.”
“Willa, when I took my oath as sheriff, I swore to protect and serve you. Not fuck you.”
“Wow, was that actually written in the speech?” ~ within Chapter 13

Feasted On: Speed Series, Book 1

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 284 KB | Release Date: November 1, 2011 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Amazon.com

"See You In My Dreams" [Speed Series, Book 1] by Jess Dee

My Book Summary : Sophie just broke her job's major rule "When the guest is in the apartment you shouldn't be." So, when she walks into the bedroom of one of the apartments to clean it she is shocked gaping at the hot and sexy specimen of naked male she sees. However, in a panic of thinking she's going to lose her job she mumbles some words of apology and takes off.

Nathan is surprised to find a woman in his room, at first worried about her being one of his fans and his identity being revealed, but as soon as she takes off he realizes that he has seen her before---from his dreams---and would like nothing more then get to know her as himself and not as his ulterior persona.

As fate would have it, they do get another shot to get to know one another and they do take advantage of whatever time they have, to be with each other. Nevertheless, within that short amount of time will they be able to admit to each other their deepest secrets, the ones that could either bring them closer together---forever---or tear them apart for good.

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! This is a unique, spicy, and dream-worthy take on the contemporary romance genre. To which I can say I absolutely loved!! I liked how this book flows, making it so even though these two people meet and are together for a very brief amount of time they make the most of it, in a way showing that it could happen if you really took everything in effect. The main characters, Sophie & Nathan/Jamie, are great and relatable in a way that made me wish it was a longer book. Then because of the plot I'm very interested what other stories Nathan/Jamie's grandmother told his brothers to see how their stories will play out!!

I recommend this book to everyone who likes HOT erotic contemporary romances with a little touch of fantasy thrown in!! =0)

Book Teaser(s) :
His lips sipped from hers, his tongue tantalized her senses, and his hand continued to delight.
"What are you doing to me?" Sophie drew back for air, and then echoed his question from earlier. "What have you done to me?"
"Nothing more than you're doing to me." He claimed her mouth once again. ~ within Chapter 3
"It's a damn pity you live in Sydney."
Sophie frowned. "It's a damn pity you don't." More than a pity. It was enough to break her heart--if she let it.
Ridiculous really, that after just two days of knowing him she already felt such a deep emotional attachment. ~ within Chapter 6

Made the Grade: Children of the Undying Series, Book 1

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 242 KB | Expected Release Date: November 29, 2011 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Moira Rogers

"Demon Bait" [Children of the Undying Series, Book 1] by Moira Rogers (aka Bree & Donna)

My Book Summary : The world has changed ... the apocalypse has happened (years ago) and now demons roam the earth and most people (humans) blame it on those people who have summoner blood (magic in their blood).

Marcelle (Marci) just happens to be a summoner who has been trying to hide herself by living among humans in different underground compounds throughout most of her life. Soon she is found out during the compound's lockdown by a man who is visiting, Gabe, and says that he can protect her from the demons. Therefore, during their time together in lockdown Gabe tries to convince Marci to leave the place she's at to go to another compound that would allow her to live without fear. Only there is a catch... since he is a halfblood demon himself she would have to be marked by Gabe, which would make her vulnerable to him for the duration of their escape from the compound their in to the one they are heading to. However, will Marci be able to trust him enough to be marked by him and put her life in his hands??

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars. Adventurous, seductive, and sweet are the three words I would choose to describe this unique apocalyptic romance book!! Marci has grown up believing she has to hide who she is, even though her magic is just simmering under her skin wanting to get out. Gabe is fierce and sweet, and just the type who you'd love to be seduced by!! I could not get enough of this book!!

My only problem with this book was what happened once they were found. I mean I understand the necessity for what happened but it seemed to mess up the flow of the book for me, I guess. Otherwise, I like how the book did wrap up at the end!

I recommend this to whoever is already fans of Moira Rogers and to those who like adventurous paranormal romance books!!

Gabe sighed. “How would volunteering the information have helped? I could have let you out into the unprotected hallways and...what? Pried open another door so everyone on the other side would know I wasn’t human?”
“And ruin how hard you worked to get me stuck with you in the first place, right?”
His jaw clenched, and he looked away.
Trip didn’t. “If there’s something going on...”
“There’s not,” Gabe snapped. ~ within Chapter 5

Feasted On: ...and the Beast Series, Book 1

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Kindle Edition - File Size: 211 KB | Release Date: May 2011 | Publisher: Samhain Publishing | Obtained: Moira Rogers

"Sabine" [...and the Beast Series, Book 1] by Moira Rogers (aka Bree & Donna)

My Book Summary : Ciar returns to his palace after being away at war for three years to find his love, Sabine, not there and to find that no one knows who she is, so he sets out to find her. Once he finds her, he's told that while he was away his mother, the Queen, cursed her so he would forget about her. However, the cursed backfired so now anyone who touches her or is around her for a long period of time will forget they ever knew her (even her own family).

Now, with little time to spear, Sabine & Ciar try to find a way to break the curse and bind themselves to each other before it's too late.

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! This is a sweet, spicy, and touching story of how far a couple would go to keep each other in their lives. Sabine is a feisty character struggling to be who she is while dealing with a curse that makes her become an outsider to everyone she knew and meets. Ciar is an arrogant King now hardened by the war he was in but still missing his love desperately that he'll do anything for her.

My only problem with it is I WISH IT WAS A BIT LONGER!! However, even as I wish that .. I don't know how they could have made it any better.

I recommend this to those who like Paranormal Romance books that are a bit erotic!!

My Previous Review(s) for these Author : Crossroads | Moonshine

Book Teaser(s) :
The depth of the grief that seized her was surprising. “You’re forgetting.”
“Slowly,” he said, voice firm. “But I’m making new memories too. I won’t forget all of you. I’ll never forget all of you.”
Some things shouldn’t be slow. A quick end was preferable, one slash of the executioner’s blade instead of being left to bleed and linger. “Of course.”
The growl that tore free of him sounded frustrated. “Why do you have no faith in me?”
“It isn’t---” Three years, and she didn’t know how to talk to anyone anymore, even Ciar. “You have a strong spirit, and I know you loved me. If anyone can wade through this spell, this curse, it’s you.”
“I can, and I will. Believe in me.” ~ within Chapter 3

Interview with Jodi Redford

At the ripe age of seven, Jodi Redford penned her first epic, complete with stick figure illustrations. Sadly, her drawing skills haven't improved much, but her love of fantasy worlds never went away. These days she writes about fairies, ghosts, and other supernatural creatures, only with considerably more heat.

She has won numerous contests, including The Golden Pen and Launching a Star.

When not writing or working the day job, she enjoys gardening and way too many reality television shows.

Currently residing in Michigan with her husband and overgrown lapdog, she is a member of RWA national and Greater Detroit Romance Writers of America.

She loves to hear from readers. You can email her at jodiredford@jodiredford.com and visit her online at www.jodiredford.com.

My Q&A with Jodi Redford :

Jess : Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Jodi : Sure, I'd love to. I write fun and sexy paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi and contemporary romances for Samhain Publishing. My books are full of humor and quirk--kind of like me. *wink* When I'm not writing or working the day job, I enjoy reading and watching cheesy movies with bad special effects on the SyFy Channel. Really, is there any movie more deserving of an Academy Award than Sharktopus? I think not.

Jess : What books did you enjoy reading while growing up?

Jodi : As a pre-teen, I loved Nancy Drew. Once I hit high school, I fell in love with historical romances. Rosemary Rogers, Jude Deveraux and Bertrice Small were my all time favorites.

Jess : Do you have a specific writing style?

Jodi : My "voice" always tends to stay on the humorous and offbeat side, so I'd say yes. Definitely.

Jess : What would your ideal career be, if you couldn't be an author?

Jodi : Probably an archeologist, so I could travel and play in a lot of dirt. Or even better, a paranormal researcher who seeks out creatures like the Yeti and chupacabras. Basically, I want Josh Gates job from Destination Truth. But only if I don't have to walk around in a jungle with anacondas on the loose. I'm not a snake person!

Jess : Which of your characters would you most/least to invite to dinner, from which book and why?

Jodi : Hm, the character I'd most like to invite to dinner would be Max, the shape-shifter shark from Maximum Witch. Not only is he hunky and sexy, he's also a gourmet cook, so win win for me! The one I'd least like to invite would be either Seven from The Seven Year Witch (Those multiple personalities are so hard to please when it comes to putting together a menu) or Antoinette Delacroix, the evil voodoo queen from That Voodoo You Do. I can almost guarantee she'd bring her zombie pets, and I'd end up being the main course. Talk about the worse dinner guests ever.

Jess : If you had to describe Lacey, Ryan, & Bram (from The Naughty List) in one word, what would it be?

Jodi : Lacey--Cautious

Ryan--Loyal

Bram--Funny

Jess : Which usually comes first for you, the character(s) story or the idea for the novel?

Jodi : You know, I was thinking about this very thing earlier today. It's funny, but I used to think of myself as a "concept" writer, meaning that the plot or story idea always came to me first. But the more I think about it, it's really the characters who grab my attention in the beginning. Even in the cases where it seemed like it was the concept first, it really sprang out of a character. For instance, with Maximum Witch I knew I wanted to write a shark shifter, which in some ways is based around a concept, but it was really the core character of Max that ultimately shaped his "skin" as a shark shifter, if that makes any sense.

Jess : How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

Jodi : I've written quite a few books, but I've published and contracted eleven. It's really hard to say which is my favorite, because I fall in love with all of my books while I'm writing them, and I love them for different reasons. Besides, if I picked a favorite, the other books would get jealous. Trust me, you don't want to see a jealous book.

Jess : What is your latest published book? And if you could write it all over again, would you change anything about it?

Jodi : My latest published (available now) book is Maximum Witch. And at the end of November, The Naughty List will be releasing, so I'll count that one as "almost" published. I'm one of those writers who can always find something to change in my books, even if it doesn't need it. That's why I try to resist the urge to re-read them.

Jess : Do you have any other projects in the works? If so, can you share a little of your current work with us?

Jodi : Well, lets see. In February, Getting Familiar With Your Demon, book 4 in the That Old Black Magic series, releases. Then in April I have a very sexy werewolf and cat-shifter book called Cat Scratch Fever coming out. Last but not least, in May I'll be part of Samhain's superhero anthology with my novella, Breaking Bad. Anyone wanting blurbs can check them out on my website. Except Breaking Bad--still waiting to get that one back from the blurb editor.

Jess : Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Jodi : Hard question! I have several favorite authors, and I enjoy their books for varying reasons. My favorite paranormal/fantasy author is Shana Abe. She has a way with description and detail that plops me into the middle of her worlds and makes them feel so real. My two favorite "sexy" authors are R. G. Alexander and Kate Pearce. They're both so good at bringing emotion and sizzling heat into their books.

Jess : What book are you reading now? How do you like it so far?

Jodi : I'm in the middle of book deadlines right now, so I haven't had much time for reading, but not too long ago, I finished Provoke Me, by Cari Quinn. It was the first book of Cari's I've read, and I highly recommend it. Hot and funny, and the hero and heroine really sizzle together. Yowza!

Jess : Which question are you most sick of answering in interviews?? =0)

Jodi : Ha! Since I love to gab and ramble on, there is no such thing as an interview question I'm sick of. ;)
