NC Truck & Tractor Pull 2008

As I mentioned yesterday .. the Elizabeth City 300' National Truck & Tractor Pull is tonight. Hopefully I'll get some good pictures as a group of us are heading out to see the show. Last years was a lot of fun ... to see the post I made about last years event click here and/or to see a video that I took from last years event click here!! Hope to see you all there!!

Summer is Here!!!

Elizabeth City feels like it's on the sun today ... well at least to me with the 90+ degree weather we have outside. And from what EC NC Weather is saying I don't think it's going to be getting cooler anytime soon.

With these hotter temperatures comes more activities and events around the city ... like:

  • Opening June 6th is Splash - Artists Judy Abrahams, Judy Bauman & Carolyn Peel at the Arts of the Albemarle Gallery. Which from what I here will be quite a display .. since these artists have been taught by artist Jane Filer!! For more info please call the AOA Gallery at 252-338-6455.
  • From June 6th - 8th is the Elizabeth City 300' National Truck & Tractor Pull!! Held at Morgan's Corner (North of Elizabeth City). Every year they hold quite a show!! Great for the family! FMI please call 252-264-3640.
  • On June 7th & 8th is the 3rd Annual Carolina Cup Regatta!! This is a great for the whole family ... exciting races, children's activities, vendors, and more!! FMI please call 252-339-0795.

NC Potato Festival in Elizabeth City

Today is the North Carolina Potato Festival (used to be known as the Albemarle Potato Festival) here in Elizabeth City! It's lasting from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm!!! Definitely they have a full day of entertainment going on ... so hopefully I'll be able to get some good shots tonight since I'm working at my other job right now until 4:00 pm.

Rose Buddies - May 7, 2008

From Me to You ... Video, Photography, & Book Reviews created this video during a time when Jess (the creator) worked for the Elizabeth City Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).

Elizabeth City's Rose Buddies have been around since the 1980s, a tradition started by Fred Fearing and Joe Kramer. In recent years the Elizabeth City Area CVB took over hosting the parties and this video is of Dave Thomas (head Rose Buddy at the time who has now passed away) explaining about the ICW and what new boaters will expect.

Well ... I am an honorary "Rose Buddy" since I work for the Elizabeth City Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. So, this past Wednesday, May 7th, my boss asked me to take some photos of the Wine & Cheese party that the Rose Buddies put on for the boaters. During this time I also had videotaped part of it .... and above is a Promo Clip to show everyone.

Video Completed

I just finished the Keepsake Video, that my mom requested for Judy Price, her co-worker, who is retiring. It took me all day to complete, but I'm happy with the final product. I hope she will like it also, as her party is tomorrow. =0)
