The Designer House at Bayside Manor
This past Monday (Aug. 11th) I volunteered at the Designer House. That place is gorgeous!!! It's a 1850's antebellum plantation home that is a 5,000 square foot house including 18 design areas. Every inch of that house had been redone from the in-laws separated space to it multiple forays. I recommend anyone and everyone to please check it out! In addition, Montero's Restaurant opened a small cafe there that opens at 11:00 am and their specials change daily! The Unwritten Rule is FINALLY here!!!
Okay .... some of you probably have already gotten your copy of "The Unwritten Rule", but if you read this posting then you know that I had some trouble getting it on March 16th. But today is April 6th and I finally got it!!

Made Video of the Week
Well ... I was browsing my YouTube videos yesterday, as I like to see where people are viewing them from, and I noticed a lot of people were starting to view my Rose Buddies 25th Anniversary Celebration video through www.cruisersnet.net. So, I went to check it out and what I found was they named my video as their Video of the Week!! YAY! MOA's How to be a Pirate!
On May 15, 2010, in conjunction with the North Carolina Potato Festival, the Museum of the Albemarle held a 'Pirate Day' where visitors could meet members of Blackbeard's Crew, a Virginia based historic reenactor group, that invaded Museum of the Albemarle for the public to experience a pirate's way of life through a live encampment and demonstrations. This video is just a bit of some of one of the activities going on that day.

Dismal Swamp State Park - Visitor Center Dedication

About the Dismal Swamp Visitors Center: A unique hydraulic arm bridge that spans the Dismal Swamp Canal allows access to the Dismal Swamp State Park. Boaters along the canal have 'right of way' which may cause some delay in pedestrians crossing the bridge. The visitor center/exhibit hall, restrooms and parking are handicap accessible.
This video documents the dedication of the 7,050-square-foot visitor center and the ceremonial opening of the Dismal Swamp State Park. It is North Carolina's 32nd state park to open to the public.
