My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! A woman who is trying to overcome a tragic loss falls into another family's life who are dealing with their own issues; together they help heal past hurts in hope of moving onto a better future.

This novel reminded me a bit of Ms. Mallery's Fool's Gold Series because of its clicky-type town, the supportive people that live there, and how the novel has meaningful main and sub plots while really bringing in past characters too to update the readers on their lives. However, I was surprised by how deep Emily's personal story truly is, as it wasn't the type of topic I'd expect written about in a romance novel, yet I really liked how Ms. Finz got to the root of Emily's fears and showed you how she worked through them. It was very touching. In addition, while I really liked Emily & Clay's sweet friendship turning into a spicy romantic relationship I also enjoyed reading about Lina & Griffin's budding "too young for right now" romance. Both relationships growth over throughout this novel are well written and highly captivating! I especially liked how the way this novel is pretty open-ended so we might be able to read more about each relationship at a later date within the series (here's hoping).

It will be interesting if Justin's "premonition" about Hope will come true and if we (and Emily) will ever find out what really happened. I am very curious to see where this series will go and where "Second Chances" will lead us next!

I recommend this novel to those who enjoy contemporary romances that are based around tragic circumstances.

• Jaxina (Jax) & Keller [from "Bane" [The Coven Series, Book 2] by Trish Milburn]: A witch and a hunter fall in love, while trying to fight against the evil that is coming after them and hoping that both of them don't get lost during the process.
• Aylia & Nico [from "Wicked Werewolf Night" [The Werewolf Society Series, Book 1] by Lisa Renee Jones]: They are a vibrant duo that made me wish that their story was longer so I could keep reading about them!!!
• Bambi & Trip [from "The Booby Trap" by Anne Browning Walker]: These two discover how a misconception of who you are can really change your life...sometimes all for the better!
• Emme & Jack [from "Taking Up Light" [The Light Ones Series, Book 1] by Holly Lauren]: The growing relationship between these two is HOT and very sweet as they deal with the struggles that get throw their way!

• Erica & Jeremy [from "Try Me" [Take a Chance Series, Book 1] by Diane Alberts]: These two work through their troubled pasts while creating the life they want to have with each other. I loved Jeremy!!
• Ellie & Clay [from "Love Finds You in Glacier Bay, Alaska" [Love Finds You Series, Book 3] by Tricia Goyer & Ocieanna Fleiss]: Even though these two are secondary characters in the novel their in, their love story is one you read through letters that plays a major role in how much you begin to enjoy how the main story plays out. So very sweet and charming!
• Fiona & Felix [from "Ask Me to Dance" [within Once Upon a Ballroom] by Katharine Ashe]: They make such a cute and sweet pair!
• Kate & Cristiano [from "The Secret She Can't Hide" by India Grey]: Somehow, these two just seem to work together, even though they had to spend four years apart and needed to learn about each other again.
• Caroline & Simon [from "His Secret Temptation" by Cat Schield]: I really enjoyed reading about the banter and sexual tension that goes on between these two.
• Miranda & Chase [from "Bunny And The Bear" [Furry United Coalition (F.U.C.) Series, Book 1] by Eve Langlais]: I loved the quirky relationship between these two!
• Sabrina (Seattle) & Marc [from "Anything You Want" [Anything & Everything Series, Book 1] by Erin Nicholas]: Together they are the perfect duo to keep each other on their toes while being very supportive of each other’s dreams.

• Miranda & Damien [from "The Truth About Love" [within Once Upon a Ballroom] by Caroline Linden]: This husband and wife's love for each other can pull through anything!
• Claire & Josh [from "Hollywood Ever After" [The Red-Carpet Series, Book 1] by Sasha Summers]: Their intense Hollywood fairytale is one that keeps you entranced in its fast-paced, heartwarming, and dramatic ways.
• Loraine & Gabriel [from "Love Beyond Loyalty" [The Outsiders Series, Book 3] by Rebecca Royce]: I LOVED Gabriel and Loraine!! Their relationship is just soo sweet and I just couldn't get enough of them!!
• Theodora (Theo/Daisy) & James [from "The Ugly Duchess" [Eloisa's Fairy Tales Series, Book 4] by Eloisa James]: Two friends grow to love and respect each other while they live apart.
• Lillian & Boris [from "Undenied" [Amoveo Legend Series, Book 2.5 / Novella 1] by Sara Humphreys]: These two sweet reclusive people find each other.
• Sarah (Sally) & Colyear (Col) [from "Almost a Scandal" [The Reckless Brides Series, Book 1] by Elizabeth Essex]: I loved how their novel evolves--from Sally boarding the ship trying to hide her identity, to her being in the thick of the crew, getting into fights about shipmates treatment, to the growing love affair between Sally and Col all the while being right in the middle of a war! ♥
• Elsa & Quinn [from "Fortune's Hero" [Soldiers of Fortune Series, Book 1] by Jenna Bennett]: These two find love while they deal with escaping sadistic doctors and evil commanders.
• Elizabeth (Libby) & Anthony (Tony) [from "Her Best Friend's Brother" by T. J. Dell]: I LOVED these two! Their novel proves that if you truly love someone it's hard to let them go for good.
• Juliet & Gareth [from "The Wild One" [The de Montforte Brothers Series, Book 1] by Danelle Harmon]: I really liked the easy relationship/banter between these two! They were perfect for each other and setup a wonderful beginning to this series!!
• MaKayla & Dustin [from "The Patriot Girl" [The No Bulls Series, Book 1] by Toni Lynn Cloutier]: I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry and relationship between these two!! It's as if they were made for each other!
• Josie & Bane [from "Lust After Death" [Love-Bots Series, Book 1] by Daisy Harris]: A zombie-ish love that holds no bounds!
• Katrina & Tyler [from "Omegas In Love" [The Vanguards Series, Book 4] by Annie Nicholas]: They are such a sweet couple it was great reading about how they finally come together for good after taking care of issues from Katrina's past.
• Allarie (Al) & Dailey [from "Cracked" by Tara Logan]: These two make a cute couple, who play off each other well even though they seem to be complete opposites.
• Nicole & Ty [from "Tangling with Ty" [within Kiss Me, I'm Irish] by Jill Shalvis]: They are a perfect combo of being similar enough to each other to understand one another and be okay with their rough spots, and being different enough that they intrigue each other in a way that cannot be ignored.
• Finley & Beckett [from "There You’ll Find Me" by Jenny B. Jones]: I especially liked the relationship between this couple, it was sweet, funny (with all of their bickering and unusual ways of talking to each other), and because of the way they go about helping each other it really made me enjoy this novel so much more!!! ♥
• Hannah & Jackson [from "The Billionaire's Christmas Baby" by Victoria James]: She livens up his life while they're trapped at his cabin up north.
• Lana & Andrew (Drew) [from "Miss Hillary Schools a Scoundrel" by Samantha Grace]: Miss Hillary might not be schooling a scoundrel but she certainly did tame one!!
• Chelsea & Eric [from "Dark Wolf Rising" [Bloodrunners Series, Book 4] by Rhyannon Byrd]: They overcome their troubled pasts while creating a better future for those around them and each other.
• Josephine (Josie/Jojo) & Liam [from "Forever My Girl" [The Beaumont Series, Book 1] by Heidi McLaughlin]: They are great together, they complement each other really well, and I thoroughly enjoyed how they worked their conflicts out between them.
• Shelley & Chase [from "Silver Mine" [Takhini Wolves Series, Book 2] by Vivian Arend]: These two are one hot item!!
• Erica & Jamie [from "Aftershocks" [within Romance in the Rain] by Kristine Cayne]: The sparks between these two are combustible!
• Janica & Luke [from "Love Me" [Take Me Series, Book 2] by Bella Andre]: This intense couple, who have loved each other for forever, find out how much they're willing to take on to get what they want!
• Carmen, Don, & Isaac [from "Who's Your Daddy?" by Lauren Gallagher]: Three best friends explore having their relationship grow into something more, while dealing with the unexpected circumstances of that growth.
• Kate & Matt [from "My Stubborn Heart" by Becky Wade]: This couple's story hooked me enough that I finished their, over 300 page, novel in one day! ♥
• Lindy & Owen [from "Wife for Hire" by Christine Bell]: They are one dynamic duo.
• Emma & Connor [from "Whatever Reilly Wants..." [within Kiss Me, I'm Irish] by Maureen Child]: I really liked the relationship between these two, plus their flirty conversations and steamy sex scenes are hot enough to keep you interested!
• Nira & Roark [from "Dragon Rider's Gift" [Portals of Destiny Tales, Book 1] by K. H. LeMoyne]: I LOVED this couple and the other characters in their novel!! Kraz is an egotistical dragon who put humor throughout this novel! While Roark & Nira have chemistry that flies off the page and wouldn't slow down!
• Ashe & Raphael [from "Raphael" [Bayou Heat Series, Book 1] by Alexandra Ivy]: They have an unusual start because Raphael's people try to keep themselves hidden, but once they meet the second time it's hard to keep them apart for good.
• Morgeanna (Morgan) & Derek [from "Return of the Rose" by Theresa Ragan]: I LOVED their novel's plot---from the whole thing about the Earl sending his daughter away with hopes of her getting better and returning to Morgan finding herself in a world she's not familiar with and learning the ropes to the epic love between this couple---it was just soo good!!!
• Annabel & Sebastian [from "Ten Things I Love About You" [The Bevelstoke Series, Book 3] by Julia Quinn]: They were a joy to read about, especially in their scenes together, along with Sebastian's creative views when it comes to his writing!
• Fredricka (Fred) & Ryan [from "Hooked" [Hooked Series, Book 1] by Liz Fichera]: These two have more in common than anyone would like to believe, but the attraction between them is undeniable. They hooked me to root for them the whole way through this novel!! ♥
• Ashley & Luke [from "Love ‘em or Leave ‘em" by Angie Stanton]: I loved the chemistry that constantly sparks between these two!
• Azurha & Titus [from "Tangled Web" [The Deizian Empire Series, Book 1] by Crista McHugh]: A deadly assassin falls in love with her target.
• Chloe & Mark [from "Masks" by Evangeline Anderson]: While in disguise these two fall head over heels in love and in bed!
• Angela & Lucen [from "Angel All Year" by Sally Clements]: It was such a heartwarming tale that you couldn't help but root for them!
• Sonnet & Zach [from "Return to Willow Lake" [The Lakeshore Chronicles, Book 9] by Susan Wiggs]: Best friend's relationship grows into something more while they get over their differences.
• Myka & Eron (Spike) [from "Hard Mated" [Shifters Unbound Series, Book 3.5] by Jennifer Ashley]: Finding the one you love, while learning you have a son too. These two are the perfect counter parts for each other.
• Hailey, Mark, & Tony [from "Sharing Hailey" by Samantha Ann King]: I loved the relationship and love that Hailey shares with Mark & Tony! Especially since, they've found a way to make them all happy without hurting their friendships with each other.
• Franny & Charlie [from "A Merry Little Christmas" by Anita Higman]: They are a sweet couple who only want to accomplish their dreams, but they find that their dreams change the longer they spend together.
• Alexis (Lexi) & Trystan (Tryst) [from "Forever Werewolf" [A Part of the Beautiful Creatures World] by Michele Hauf]: Work hard and play even harder becomes this couple’s motto, while they discover that becoming who you are meant to be and embracing it can be tougher then it first seems. ♥
• Paige & Casey [from "One Bite To Passion" by MaryLynn Bast]: I did love the chemistry between this couple!! They played off each other well and created something believable between them.
• Jane & Banan [from "Dawn’s Desire" [Dark Kings Series, Book 3] by Donna Grant]: These two find each other while being thrown into the middle of a war where the good guys don't know who the bad guys are.
• Chloe & Andrew [from "The Wary Widow" [Wetherby Brides Series, Book 3] by Jerrica Knight-Catania]: Their novel proves that no matter what you do, you have to go along with your heart.
• Avondia (Ava) & Daxtronian (Dax) [from "Virgin" [The Cat Star Chronicles, Book 7] by Cheryl Brooks]: Dax isn't the type to romance a lady but once he meets Ava he does a good job sweeping her off her feet while she teaches Dax that there are more adventures to see if you’re willing to search beneath the surface.
• Reece & Dante [from "Dante's Girl" [The Paradise Diaries Series, Book 1] by Courtney Cole]: They are such a sweet couple! You can't help but root for them.
• Devon & Andre [from "Silver Storm" [Raveneau Series, Book 1] by Cynthia Wright]: These two stubborn people make a fiery couple that you want to root for even when they are being dumb. =0)
• Raina & Slade [from "The Half-Breed Vampire" [Sons of Midnight Mini-Series, Book 3] by Theresa Meyers]: I really enjoyed reading about the relationship that grew between this couple, along with all of the back-story that was in their novel.
• Gemma & Trace [from "Just a Cowboy and His Baby" [Spikes & Spurs Series, Book 6] by Carolyn Brown]: These two are in a competition of their lives, only have each other to lean on, and when Trace's past catches up to him they'll need each other more than ever.
• Bronte & Max [from "A Royal Pain" by Megan Mulry]: Fall in love with some new "royals."
• Mallory & Core [from "A Familiar Face" by Marie Harte]: I took great delight in reading about Core's abilities--from his true self to his sexual ability. Plus, the banter between these two was entertaining just by itself! ♥
• Olivia & Brandon [from "When We Touch" [Whiskey Creek Series, Novella 1] by Brenda Novak]: I could not get enough of this couple; they were just so cute together!! Then with the story of both their families ... it made it all the better.
• Caoimhe (Keeva) & Severin [from "The Vrykolakas Deviation" [The Narcissus Legacy Series, Book 1] by Sherri Lackey]: Enemies find out that there is more to life and love then what they've always known once they've found each other.
• Kerry & Dante [from "Untouched" [Amoveo Legend Series, Book 2] by Sara Humphreys]: I thoroughly enjoyed these two as a couple!! They both are strong lead characters with intense and intriguing personalities!
• Caroline (Carrie) & Griffin (Griff) [from "Beauty for Ashes" [A Hickory Ridge Romance, Book 2] by Dorothy Love]: I really loved the these two, their easy relationship/friendship to their deep respect for each other really made this novel for me.
• Brie & Samuel [from "Escape" [The Vampire King Series, Book 1] by Kenya Wright]: While trying to escape a dangerous King these two fall into lust with each other and might be working into something more.
• Nina & Eduardo [from "Seduction in Silver" [within Flirting To Win] by Natalie Anderson]: These two have a world-in-romance but with a deadline.
• Sophie & Jake [from "I Only Have Eyes For You" [The Sullivans Series, Book 4] by Bella Andre]: I liked these two as a couple, they both had their own insecurities but it's very entertaining to see how they work through them together!
• Alyssa, Dante, Cairo, & Mason [from "Every Night Forever" [Hyena Heat Series, Book 1] by R. E. Butler]: Three brothers find the perfect mate for them; now if they can only prove to her just how special she is everything will be perfect! ♥
• Ivy & Sam [from "What’s Wrong with Mr. Perfect?" [within Romance in the Rain] by Sherri Shaw]: They have a sweet romance you can't help but want to read.
• Willow & Jasper [from "A Taste for a Mate" [Redwood Pack Series, Book 2] by Carrie Ann Ryan]: These two have a spicy/rough beginning and an even sweeter romance.
• Allison (Allie) & Chris [from "Face The Music" by Andrea K. Robbins]: Their novel is a thought provoking take on the reality singing show world that kept my attention wrapped while having me rooting for Allie and Chris the whole way through!
• Casey & Nick [from "Take It Like a Vamp" by Candace Havens]: They funny and mischievous banter between them that never seems to end.
• Hannah & Leo [from "Improper Relations" by Juliana Ross]: These two have a unique relationship, that starts out as just a playful lesson and turns into something much more.
• Dara & Loren [from "Duality" [Guardians of the Light Series, Book 1] by Renee Wildes]: Two brave heroes find each other and learn that if they have each other in their lives they can accomplish anything.
• Poppy & Sam [from "I've Got Your Number" by Sophie Kinsella]: They are a quirky couple that created a bond over a stolen cell phone.
• Charlene (Charlie) & Joseph (Joe) [from "Final Approach" [within Romance in the Rain] by Marianne Stillings]: While trying to find out who murdered Charlie's best friend these two fall in love.
• Lily & Rafe [from "The Fake Boyfriend Experiment" by Stephanie Rowe]: I loved the innocent romance between this couple. It was sweet and charming while still being humorous with all of the banter that they share.
• MacKenzie & Valor [from "Valor" [Greystone Series, Book 1] by Taylor Longford]: This vibrant duo keeps up with all of the twists and turns that get thrown as them. I LOVED their novel and them! ♥
• Sarah & Jathan [from "The Memory Jar" [Seven Brides for Seven Bachelors Series, Book 1] by Tricia Goyer]: This Amish couple, from two different backgrounds, tries to make a relationship work between them while it seems like the odds are against them.
• Elle & Gabe [from "Wrong Bed, Right Guy" by Katee Robert]: I LOVED GABE!!! He is a bad boy looking for his perfect match and when he unexpectedly gets her in the middle of the night, he does everything he can to keep her and win her heart!
• Michelle & Jared [from "Barefoot Season" [Blackberry Island Series, Book 1] by Susan Mallery]: Their relationship grows from strangers living together into a steady friendship based on mutual respect and past experiences to a sweet love that makes them both better people.
• Lisa & Rourke [from "The Billionaire’s Baby Plan" [The Baby Chase Series, Book 5] by Allison Leigh]: When these two are thrown together passionate sparks fly between them in a way it's hard to keep them apart.
• Annie & Eros (Ross) [from "Tall, Dark, and Divine" [Bagging a Greek God Series, Book 1] by Jenna Bennett]: Annie is a sweet spitfire who is looking for love in all the wrong places. Eros is a very depressed god who doesn't know a good thing when it's within his reach until it's almost too late. Together they make an undeniably cute duo!!

• Vivian (Viv) & Brock [from "His Forbidden Submissive" by Brandi Evans]: I LOVED Brock!!!! He sounds so good natured and sweet with a wild side that cannot and will not be tamed!! Then throw Viv and his relationship into the mix and you have a unique love story that will put a smile on your face!
• Lilith & Aidan [from "Kissing Phoenix" [Sex with Strings Series, Book 1] by Shona Husk]: They love each other so much that they are willing to try whatever it takes to stay together forever.
• Tricia & Noah [from "The Single Dad's Virgin Wife" [Wives for Hire Series, Book 2] by Susan Crosby]: These two have their own "The Sound of Music" type of romance.
• Alison & Maximo (Max) [from "An Accidental Birthright" by Maisey Yates]: I enjoyed the budding romance and deep respect between this couple!! They were just the type of couple that held your attention enough to wish there was more to the story!!

• Ruby & Teague [from "Breaking Bad" [Midnight Justice Series, Book 3] by Jodi Redford]: I liked these two and enjoyed their interplay with each other. =0)
• Taryn & Trey [from "Feral Sins" [The Phoenix Pack Series, Book 1] by Suzanne Wright]: Together they are an unstoppable duo that are perfect for each other and fun to read about! ♥
• Janet & Max [from "Before the Moon Rises" [Ritter Werewolves Series, Book 1] by Catherine Bybee]: This is a story about an unusual meeting and beginning of a romance between two soul mates.
• Ashley & Caspian (Caz) [from "The Accidental Movie Star" by Emily Evans]: These two played off each other so well that I wish there was a sequel to their novel so I could read more about them!
• Ana & Howahkan (Kane) [from "Consent to Love" [Wild Pleasures Series, Book 2] by Abby Wood]: They make such a good couple even though they both come from different worlds.
• Beth, Josh, & Oliver [from "Calling the Shots" [Long Shots Series, Book 4] by Christine d'Abo]: Three broken souls learn to embrace who they really are while fighting the demons in their pasts they find love in the process.
• Chelsea & Brett [from "Runaway Heart" by Claudy Conn]: A handsome rogue falls in love with "his brat."
• Amber & Blake [from "No Remorse" [Heart of a Wolf Series, Book 1] by MaryLynn Bast]: As teenagers, these two feel for each other but life kept them apart, now that they are older and thrown together again they will do whatever it takes to stay together for good.
• Jillian & Reseph [from "Rogue Rider" [Lords of Deliverance Series, Book 4] by Larissa Ione]: See how even the most evil being (well not completely) to have ever walked the earth can fall in love! These two charmed me from the beginning of their novel!!
• Jo (Zo Jo) & Ned (Jake) [from "Shooting Stars" by Allison Rushby]: This couple come from both sides of the "lense" and yet they find more in common with each other than either first thought they could have--a sweet romance blossoms from it.
• Abigail & Gerrod [from "Embrace the Dark" [The Blood Rose Series, Book 1] by Caris Roane]: The relationship between Abigail & Gerrod is very sensual and sweet in how they slowly find their love for each other.
• Alexa & Dillon [from "No Flowers Required" [Love Required Series, Book 2] by Cari Quinn]: This combustible duo could not be more perfect for each other.
• Emmeline & Erick [from "The Last Witch" [Incenaga Trilogy, Book 1] by Debbie Dee]: These two bring out the best in each other, while they learn more about Emmeline's powers.
• Jeannette & Treynor [from "The Bastard" by Brenda Novak]: I really liked these two together!! They are a very stubborn couple, who both makes sure that everyone around them is treated well.
• Gemmita (Gem) & Shaun [from "Black Gold" [Takhini Wolves Series, Book 1] by Vivian Arend]: They're very cute together and I loved how enthusiastic Gem was when finding out about everything that was new to her.
• Heidi & Rafe [from "Summer Days" [Fool’s Gold Series, Book 7] by Susan Mallery]: Together they make a wonderful couple, if they can only get over the complication that Glen (Heidi's grandfather) put them in.

The Books I'm Thankful For (so far) in 2012

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
Okay so last year I started this by doing a top 5 list of the books I was thankful for reading/reviewing and well this year I just couldn't decide. Therefore, since today is Thanksgiving Day, after all, I chose to list ALL of the books that I've read so far (and gave my highest ratings to) for this year that I'm Thankful for!! So, here you go (listed in the order of when I read them this year):

1. "Bound In Darkness" [Bound (Vampires/Werewolves) Series, Book 2] by Cynthia Eden: 5 out of 5 stars!!! Even though this is a quick read, it is packed with hot romance and fight scenes. Plus, it has a really good plot! Add in some dynamic main characters and you have a paranormal romance novella that you just have to read!!

2. "There You’ll Find Me" by Jenny B. Jones: 5 out of 5 stars, this is a touching novel about trying to deal with the heartbreak of loosing someone close to you and how you can over come that heartbreak into getting back to a "normal" life again. I loved the way this novel goes about trying to help the main character, Finley, from the gorgeous views that were described of Ireland (making me wish I could take a trip there) to Finley's adopted grandmother and her cranky ways to the new friends Finley meets. There seemed to be nothing I did not like about this novel!! Especially the relationship between Finley and Beckett, it was sweet, funny (with all of their bickering and unusual ways of talking to each other), and because of the way they go about helping each other it really made me enjoy this novel so much more!!! 3. "A Familiar Face" by Marie Harte: 5 out of 5 stars!! WOW!! This novel exceeded my expectations and then some! It's a sexually driven, fast-paced, match made from heaven or a little club known as The Python Palace, novel that enthralled me into wishing there was more to read about!!
   
   About the Characters:
   • Mallory: Sarcastic, funny, sweet, and very playful. A witch who knows how to fight like the best of them. One who might not be much in her own world but means quite a bit in Core's world.
   
   • Core: Clever. A strong leader. A wonderful fighter. Very protective of Mallory.
   
   • Rattler: Mysterious. Bossy. A god??

4. "The Unofficial Zack Warren Fan Club" by J. C. Isabella: 5 out of 5 stars!! I LOVED the characters in this novel!!! Chloe and Zack are quite a pair about keeping false fronts about their feelings to each other for everyone else while their true feelings are quite different!! Plus, I loved the fact that they went, pretty much, their whole lives in love with each other and only now taping into those feelings. *sigh* It is a fun story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading!! From them finding out the truth of one another, to getting used to their new living arrangements, to dealing with their new jealousies and old secrets .... 5. "Feral Sins" [The Phoenix Pack Series, Book 1] by Suzanne Wright: 5 out of 5 stars!! This novel has a really good plot along with being spicy enough, with its erotic scenes, to get you all hot and bothered by the time this book is over! Trey is a possessive and domineering werewolf who isn't always in control of his wolf side. Taryn is a sarcastic, smart, feisty, and even though she's on the small side, she knows how to protect herself. 6. "My Stubborn Heart" by Becky Wade: 5 out of 5 stars!! I loved the setup of this novel!! The prologue sets up this novel in a way that it fills in what happened, a bit, in the main characters' pasts while leaving you curious to read more about them. Then to read the build-up between Kate and Matt throws you for a loop and back again. When you finally realize what each of them have gone through and how they get into this sweet relationship where they both want more from each other but because of God or their pasts or just life itself makes it so they have to fight for what they want you might just fall in love with this novel too! 7. "Valor" [Greystone Series, Book 1] by Taylor Longford: 5 out of 5 stars!! This series is one I bet you have never read about (or any type like it) before and will keep you just as captivated as I was!!! I LOVE THIS NOVEL!! The plot was awesome, intense, dynamic, funny, and very fast-paced! Also -- I could NOT get enough of the characters!!!
   
   About the Characters:
   • MacKenzie: Human, 16 yrs old. Maybe a witch...? Protective of those she loves. Pretty much lives on her own. Helps out Valor and his family with everything they need. Has a crush on Valor.
   
   • Valor: Gargoyle, about 18 yrs old. Meets MacKenzie first and tells her about who and what he and his family are. Instantly and intensely drawn to MacKenzie. Likes to hunt. [Read more of Jess' Review and Two Teasers for this book HERE]
8. "Almost a Scandal" [The Reckless Brides Series, Book 1] by Elizabeth Essex: 5 out of 5 stars, this fun, courageous, and delightful novel will take you on an intriguing ride through the life of a British sailor in the 1800s. I loved how this novel evolves--from Sally boarding the ship trying to hide her identity, to her being in the thick of the crew, getting into fights about shipmates treatment, to the growing love affair between Sally and Col all the while being right in the middle of a war. I could not get enough of this novel! I especially enjoy how Sally wasn't a wuss when it came to her duty and the action on deck or that she wasn't impervious to any causalities of her own, no matter how small. 9. "Forever Werewolf" [A Part of the Beautiful Creatures World] by Michele Hauf: 5 out of 5 stars!!! This is a fun & sexy novel about loving who you are and being true to it! I loved Lexi & Tryst together!! They played off each other soo well!! In addition, the plot was great, especially with all of the twists!
   
   With how many time Tryst mentioned his ice demon friend I really can't wait to find out what will happen to him! And I do hope things will work out between Lana and Liam, since Liam seems like such a good guy. [Read more of Jess' Review and Two Teasers for this book HERE]
10. "All Summer Long" [Fool’s Gold Series, Book 9] by Susan Mallery: 5 out of 5 stars!! Ever since this year's three-part series from Fool's Gold came out, I have wanted to read more about Charlie's romance! Therefore, I'm so happy that it turned out even better than I expected!!! This is a novel about what the heart is able to overcome when faced with the opportunity to heal. I LOVED CHARLIE & CLAY!!! Together or apart Charlie and Clay were a great duo that I couldn't get enough of!! I loved the way this novel dealt with Charlie's fears, helping Clay with his ambitions, and bringing Charlie and her mother back together again. It was a charming book, which I could not put down!! 11. "Forbidden" [The World of Nightwalkers Series, Book 1] by Jacquelyn Frank: 5 out of 5 stars!! Follow Docia along through her death and new life while learning about the world of Nightwalkers, becoming a Bodywalker, and finding your soul mate in the most unlikely of places. This is a hilarious and thrilling start to The World of Nightwalkers Series!! In addition, this is also a bit of a spin-off from Ms. Frank's Nightwalkers Series (a series that I have yet to read) based on the prolog that I'm not sure how that part of the story really fits into the series but I'm hoping we will find out as this series progresses.
    
    About the Characters:
    • Docia: I enjoyed Docia so much! She is quirky, fun, rambles quite a bit, and is the perfect mix of being shy and daring all at once. Also, I think that with her new "Bodywalker" status she will grow to be more formidable than ever, however I do like Docia's attitude more so then the bits I saw of her reserved counterpart so I hope that later on as this series goes we will see her acting more like herself than anything else. Well ... those are all of the novels/novellas that I LOVED (thus far) THIS YEAR!! I hope after reading my reviews and teasers you'll be interested in a few of them too.

One thing I'm finding funny now that I'm looking at my list is that it goes back and forth from contemporary-ish to paranormal-ish without me even trying. *hehee*
