Book Excerpt :

Nathaniel Gresham, Viscount Hightower, stirred in his sleep. His hands groped for bedclothes, found nothing. Sensing wrongness, his consciousness rose through layers of befuddlement and wisps of dreams. He opened his eyes to find a gaping maw of three-inch fangs inches from his throat.
“Aah!”
Nathaniel threw up his arms to shield his face and twisted to the side. The convulsive movement brought him right to the edge of a large four-poster bed, and he scrambled to avoid falling three feet to the floor. He twisted in the opposite direction and struck out at the sharp, yellowed teeth. They did not snap shut on his forearm or lunge into his face once more. Indeed, they did not move at all, except sideways under his blow. There was no snarl or slaver, no spark of rage in the shiny eye behind the fangs. Nathaniel shoved them farther away and sat up.
He was stark naked, on a large bed stripped bare of linens, covered only by a moth-eaten gray wolf skin. The wretched thing’s head had been carefully placed on his chest, to ensure the rude awakening. His hips still rested under its hindquarters. Molting fur peppered the bed. The mere sight of the ancient pelt made his skin itch. Revolted, he pushed it all the way off and moved to the foot of the bed, struggling to get his bearings. This wasn’t his bedchamber. The blue-striped wallpaper was alien, the furnishings unfamiliar; the windows with their slant of early morning light were in the wrong place. Then he remembered. He was staying at the Earl of Moreley’s country house, because tomorrow—no, today—he was to marry the earl’s daughter at their local parish church.
Nathaniel glared at the wolf skin, then rubbed his hands over his face. This was what it meant to have five brothers—five younger brothers—on one’s wedding day. Or rather, on one’s wedding eve, a night they’d insisted upon marking with bowls of rack punch. Had it been three? Or had he lost count? No wonder they’d kept filling his glass, if they had this prank planned. Where the devil had they found a wolf skin in a strange house? And hadn’t he told his father, when Robert was born in his sixth year, that four sons were quite enough? Even for a duke, six sons were excessive. At this particular moment, Nathaniel thought that his parents might have been content with just one.
He rose, stretching stiff limbs and marveling that he had only a mild headache. Revenge on his brothers would have to wait for another day. Today, he was getting married. He was doing his duty to his name and his line, pledging himself to a woman who would be an admirable duchess when their turn came—may it be far in the future. The match was eminently suitable. All society acknowledged its rightness. And despite Violet’s irascible grandmother, the occasional bane of his existence, he could have no complaints.
Indeed, why had the word even occurred to him? No one had rushed him into marriage. He had enjoyed a plenitude of seasons in London and a number of agreeable flirtations and liaisons with delightful females. Though they had never spoken of it, he was aware that his parents had given him every opportunity to fall in love. But the passion that had overtaken them in their young days had not befallen him. He wasn’t sure why, but once he’d passed thirty he concluded it never would. He’d had more than enough time to observe that such a bond was rare in the circles of the haut ton.
Nathaniel stretched again, his bare limbs a bit chilly. This marriage was certainly not a penance. He liked Violet very much. They’d been acquainted for years. He did not know whether she’d had other offers, but he supposed that she too had waited for love to find her. They had that in common. They were also well suited by background, had similar tastes, and enjoyed the same even temperament. When he’d decided that the time for marriage had come, he’d simply known that she was the proper candidate. He expected their union to be gracious, harmonious, and ideal for the significant position they would someday be called upon to fulfill. And now it was time to stop wool- gathering, put on his dressing gown, and begin this momentous day.
Nathaniel walked over to the oaken wardrobe on the far wall and opened it.
It was empty. All his clothes had disappeared.
He stared at the bare hooks. This part of the prank would be Sebastian’s doing, he imagined. It had his next younger brother’s touch. Nathaniel met his own gaze in the mirror set into the wardrobe door, and acknowledged the spark of amused annoyance in his eyes. His brothers had a fiendish facility for complicated jests.
The figure in the glass shook its head. All the sons of the Duke of Langford were tall, handsome, broad-shouldered men with auburn hair and blue eyes. Sebastian was the tallest. Robert the wittiest. Randolph was acknowledged as the handsomest, James the most adventurous, and Alan the smartest. But he was the eldest, and the heir.
For as long as he could remember, Nathaniel had felt the weight of his destiny. The others said it was a burden to have everything done ahead of them, but he’d felt the onus of being the pattern, setting up the expectations, being the son visitors scrutinized the most. He would be the next duke; he must show he was worthy. Thus, he kept a tight rein on his wilder impulses. Instead, he was the one who came to the rescue when one of his brothers went too far, kicking up a lark.
And so now, he did not slam the empty wardrobe shut, but simply closed it. He would leave it to his valet to straighten this out. He wanted hot water for washing, and then clothes, and then breakfast. He went to ring for Cates, and discovered that the bell rope had been removed. He could see the wire to which it had been connected, near the ceiling, twelve feet up. It must have taken two or three of his brothers to reach so high.
For a moment he just stood there, staring at it. This final touch would be Robert’s idea, no doubt. He’d always been the most ingenious, the brother who added the crowning climax to a prank. Robert would be the one to set the others guffawing—describing their elder brother slinking through the corridors of the Earl of Moreley’s house wrapped in a wolf skin, like some sort of demented ancient Celt. Even Nathaniel had to smile at the picture. How would Violet’s fierce stickler of a grandmother like that? And all the other near and distant relations visiting for the wedding? He’d barely met most of them. Perhaps he’d twine some ivy from outside the window in his hair and attempt a Gaelic war cry.
Nathaniel laughed. Truth to tell, it was a splendid prank, unfolding like a puzzle box upon its hapless victim. All that remained was for him to wiggle out of the trap so cunningly set.
He eyed the windows and considered pulling down some of his almost-mother-in-law’s elaborate draperies to wrap about himself. But one panel would trail behind him like a coronation robe. The picture was little better than the wolf skin. Perhaps he would just wait until Cates arrived on his own. It couldn’t be too much longer. In fact, judging by the sunlight, his valet ought to have appeared well before now. Where the devil was he?
As if in answer to this thought, there was a knock at the door.
“Nathaniel?”
The voice was the last he expected. “Violet?”
“Are you all right? James said you needed to speak to me most urgent—” The door opened, and Nathaniel’s promised bride looked around the panels. “Oh!” Her mouth dropped open.
Nathaniel—stark naked, next to a bed sporting only a rumpled wolf skin—braced for a shriek, a shocked retreat, babbled apologies. But Violet just looked at him. Indeed, it seemed as if she couldn’t tear her eyes away. He could almost feel her gaze traveling along his skin, as if it left trails of warmth. He saw something stir in those gray eyes, something he’d never observed before, and his body began to respond to the possibility of much more than he’d expected from his suitable marriage. Respond all too eagerly.
Nathaniel moved over behind the bed. “My brothers’ idea of a joke,” he said with a gesture toward the wolf skin.
Violet blinked. Color flooded her cheeks, and she looked away. “How did they...?” Her voice was rather choked.
“They are endlessly inventive. They stole my clothes as well. Would you have someone send Cates to me? I would ring but”—he pointed to the bell wire—“they were quite thorough.”
Violet glanced at the denuded wire, swallowed, and gave a quick nod. “Of course.” In the next instant, she was gone.
“Well, well,” murmured Nathaniel to the wolf. “That was interesting.”
His days of being capable of interest long past, the wolf made no reply.

"Bite at First Sight" [Scandals With Bite Series, Book 3] by Brooklyn Ann

Author's Book Description : Her interest is purely scientific
Cassandra Burton wants to study medicine, surgery, healing, and everything related to the human body and its mysteries—and she's willing to rob graves to do it! But a lady can meet dark and dangerous characters lurking around the cemetery. And who could be more fascinating than Rafael Villar, Lord Vampire of London? If she could
study his physiology, she could learn so much that would help humans. After all, he’s immortal—and Cassandra is now his prisoner…

Until she gets close enough to touch
As if Rafael didn’t have enough to worry about, with a rebellion brewing and his allies out of reach, now he’s confronted by a beautiful, fearless lady who wants to heal the scars he's borne for centuries. He can’t keep her, and he can’t let her go, and worst of all, he’s every bit as intrigued by her as she is by him.

"Bite at First Sight" (Book 3)
"His Ruthless Bite" (Book 4)

Praise for One Bite Per Night :
“Solid writing, a tasty dash of originality, and realistic relationships that zing with sexual energy.” — Publishers Weekly

My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars! All of her life Cassandra has strived to become a Doctor. However, because of her being a woman she has had to learn everything she knows on her own, which is why she finds herself in a cemetery with plans on getting some cadavers so she could start studying the human anatomy. What she never expected was to have Don Villar (Rafael/Rafe) find her there and to have him turn out to be anything but human. Now with Cassandra embroiled into the vampire world Rafael has a month to find a way to change her into a vampire too or there will be drastic consequences. But with a rebellion on the horizon will they be able to accomplish everything in time or will it be all for not?

A wonderfully dramatic tale set in a historical paranormal world where you’ll find a sweet love story between a progressive woman and a stubborn scarred man. Now that I think of it this novel reminds me a little bit of “Beauty & the Beast.” This was the first novel that I’ve read from Ms. Brooklyn Ann so it’s also the first one from this series, and I am soo happy that I was not lost making this a standalone-ish novel that I could truly enjoy. In addition, you get tons of updates from previous characters, historical information/fictional scenes with a famous doctor and a great buildup to the next novel in this series.

Cassandra and Rafael have an intriguing bond from the very beginning. A hot, steamy, and feisty connection encourages you to root for them too. I loved how these two fought for one another, with Rafael doing his best to keep Cassandra safe while toeing the line of the vampire laws and Cassandra doing her best to learn ways to fix Rafael’s arm even when he refuses help.

Even though I had a feeling it was going to happen at some point, I really wish my favorite secondary character in this novel didn’t have to die. It was so sad. =0(

Nevertheless, I will say I LOVED this novel!! I HIGHLY recommend it to those looking for a unique historical paranormal romance!

Made the Grade: The Scandalous Sisters Series, Book 2

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon: Paperback - Pages: 384; Kindle Edition - File Size: 1256 KB | Expected Release Date: March 1, 2016 | Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca | Obtained: NetGalley

"How to Handle a Scandal" [The Scandalous Sisters Series, Book 2] by Emily Greenwood

Author's Book Description : They thought the debutante was scandalous

Miss Elizabeth Tarryton was the toast of the London season the year she was seventeen and spurned young Tommy Halifax. A careless flirt who didn’t know what she wanted, she was startled into laughter by his public proposal of marriage. Furious and heartbroken, Tommy promptly left home for a life of adventure in India.

If they only knew about the widow

Six years later, Elizabeth has much to make up for, but the methods she chooses for doing good are as shocking as her earlier wanton behavior–should the ton ever find out. Tommy returns to England a hero, and he has no intention of allowing himself to be hurt by a woman ever again, but he’s fascinated nonetheless by Elizabeth, now a widow and more alluring than ever.

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars. Eliza (Elizabeth/Lizzie) was raised by her father for most of her life, a man who let her be more wild and free then respectable. After her father remarries, when she's a preteen, her new stepmother says she needs more discipline so Eliza is sent away to live with her Uncle Will the Viscount Grandville. A few years after living with her Uncle, Eliza finds herself the "bell of the ball" with a lot of wannabe suitors. Tommy is a close friend of Eliza's who has fallen for her and plans to propose to her, but the proposal doesn't end well and Tommy takes off for India. Now, about six years later, Eliza is a widow who is trying to make amends with Tommy when he finally returns home. However, one misunderstanding leads them straight for the wedding alter and now they need to navigate how to be friends again let alone how to turn that friendship into possibly something more.

Some people cannot get over their pasts without a bit of help from others. This novel is just like that, as you follow Eliza and Tommy through their youth into adulthood where they find that even if they make new experiences and think they've changed, their pasts will always be a part of them. While I liked Tommy & Eliza together, I found it hard to really like them at times because of how self-absorbed they seemed. But once what brings them together ends I seemed to like them better as individuals and as a couple. Though it wasn't what I expected I did like how everything turned out.

I do recommend this novel to those looking for a good historical romance!

How ironic: in attempting to accomplish something of worth, she was going to have to revert to the flirt she'd once been.

He laughed. "Can't hear, you, dear, innocent lady? Tell me, what is your name?"
"Er..." She said the first name that came into her mind, which was, appallingly, "Victoria."
Wonderful. She'd just used the name of Will's three-year-old daughter as a cover for herself in a bawdy house. Good God, if he ever found out about any of this... ~ within Chapter 4

    Format: Paperback | Pages: 281 | Release Date: December 1, 2011 | Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire | Obtained: Amazon.com

    "Catching Jordan" by Miranda Kenneally

My Book Summary : Jordan is the captain of her football team as well as their star quarterback. However, everything she has worked years to become and everything else in her life seems to change once Tyler (Ty) moves to town and starts at her school. Nevertheless, not only does he seem to be a great quarterback himself he might be looking into taking over her spot. In addition, even though she's around hot guys all the time on her team, he is the first guy to ever catch her interest and that could totally throw off her game. So, will she be able to keep her head in the football game and make her team proud without losing her heart in the process??

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars!! I think I half fell in love with this novel ever since I read it's description! How could anyone, not like reading about a girl who is more tomboy than anything yet still cute that has a football team full of guy friends and is still coming into her own woman. I could not get enough of this book! Jordan's friends are great and their easy banter was very enjoyable!

    About the Characters:
    • Jordan: A strong, tough, leader. Knows what she wants and plans to do anything to get it. Has never had a boyfriend before.

    • Ty: He's a Texan who just moved to Tennessee. Sounds like a great guy, yet he's held back by his need to control everything.

    • Henry: Jordan's best friend. A hot football player, who Jordan refers to having a harem of girls that are always after him.

    • Carter: Has more plans for himself than what his father wants for him. Jordan's "shy" friend.

    • JJ: One hell of a friend. Jordan's "protector."

    • Jake: One hot player, at least he likes to think he is. =0)

    • Mike: Jordan's older brother and her biggest supporter.

This is a wonderful story about the lengths friends and things in the name of friendship will do, as well as sweet a love story. I recommend it to anyone who likes reading about strong female lead characters, especially in a YA novel.

"Excuse me while I go vomit."

Bonnie and Lynx have a terrible first meeting. Over time it doesn't get much better even with Bonnie trying to make him feel comfortable. Yet even when Bonnie tries her best to stop from getting involved with Lynx (emotionally or otherwise) it's hard. Soon their relationship gets to a level that neither expected. And they realize that they might not want to give up on each other afterwards.

However, there is an unseen force who wants nothing more to have things change back to the way they were. The question is will those plans work or will they fall to pieces?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars -- this series takes your imagination to new heights and makes you wish that it might just be reality. Bonnie and Lynx make a great pair--sweet, smart and feisty--you couldn't ask for more! Plus, finding new information on old characters is one of the things that I love even more about this series! Jack & Cat are in each book in one way or another, and the others are either mentioned or apart of the reading landscape too, so it's kinda like your reading more then one story at a time. Very entertaining!

My Previous Review(s) for this Series : Book 1

    Book Teaser(s) :
His rejection of her was so complete, so all-encompassing; he not only despised her, but her entire gender!
Unfortunately, they still needed one another. Bonnie knew that one call to Drummond might get Lynx a different job, or even deported, but that was one of those things that only a woman scorned would do. Bonnie wasn't about to have him kicked off the planet just because he didn't like women. She would get over him. ~ within Chapter 6

Made the Grade: The Paladin Warrior Series, Book 1

    - This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Paperback - Pages: 323; Kindle Edition - File Size: 594 KB | Expected Release Date: February 01, 2012 | Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca | Obtained: NetGalley

"Deliver Me from Darkness" [The Paladin Warrior Series, Book 1] by Tes Hilaire

My Book Summary : At one time Roland was a Paladin---one of the Light, a protector against all that is evil---until Christos (an evil Master vampire) turned him and slaughtered Roland's family. Now he is a vampire who does his best to be good even though it's harder then hell sometimes for him to do so.

Just when he thinks, he has his "new" life all planned out for himself Karissa lands on his doorstep. She is Light in and of itself, the prettiest woman he's ever seen, minus her ratty outfit. However, he's not the only one who wants her .... since she happens to be the last known female Paladin she is quite a commodity to those good and evil, and now it's up to Roland to do everything in his power to protect her ... and possibly keep her.

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars!! This novel/series is an interesting mix of mystery, romance, and the supernatural. I could not get enough!! The multiple plots that are within this novel seem to start off a great foundation for what this series could turn into and I am definitely excited as to where Tes will take it next.

There were some parts in this novel that did drag on a bit for me. However, I really enjoyed reading about the Paladins and their ways (even if their ways need revamping), and I'm curious as to see what will change within their organization because of what happens at the end of this novel. =0)

For the characters ... I really liked the relationship and chemistry between Roland and Karissa. They made quite a pair and I hope they'll be in the future novels so I can see how their relationship grows. Nevertheless, my favorite character in this novel was Gabriella!!! I loved finding out her background information and why she does some of the things she does. I really hope that she'll be the main character in the next book in this series!! ♥

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good vs evil plots with a hot lot of hot guys and some spicy sex scenes thrown in. =0)

    Book Teaser(s) :
As disguises went, this one worked as well as any. Maybe better, given the genes she'd inherited from Mommy Dearest. May she rot in hell. ~ within Chapter 10
"As you know, I am not a full Paladin any longer."
What? Not a Paladin? Karissa lifted her gaze. Roland was leaning over the sink, carefully dabbing the blood off a cut on his forearm that had already healed. Oh, right. Honestly, she'd momentarily forgotten about the whole vampire thing. ~ within Chapter 15

Blog Tour - The Heartbreakers by Ali Novak | Character Interview, Spreading the Word & Giftcard with a YA romance books bundle

Today I'm turning my blog over to Ali Novak, who helped me with the character interview I had with one of the main characters from her novel "The Heartbreakers," which happens to be the FIRST BOOK in her The Heartbreak Chronicles!!

ALSO -- Be sure to check out Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post to be able to sign up for this blog stop's GIVEAWAY!! [Blog Tour & Giveaway will run from July 27 - August 30, 2015]

My Q&A with a character from "The Heartbreakers" :

    Character's Name : Oliver Perry
    Character's Age : 18
Character's Appearance : Light-brown, wavy hair. Dark blue eyes. Tall, lean.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Sure. I was born in Portland, Oregon and raised by my grandparents. I’m the lead singer and songwriter for the Heartbreakers, and we’re currently getting ready to release our next studio album called Light Years Away. I started writing and making music with my best friend JJ in junior high, and we formed our first band called Infinity and Beyond freshman year of high school.

What is your favorite article of clothing?

You can’t go wrong with a good beanie, but I never take off my Grandpa’s dog tags—they’re very important to me.

    What is your favorite book?

Hands down, "Moonraker" by Ian Fleming. It’s my favorite James Bond story.

    What is your favorite food?

Pickle rollups. You can’t judge until you’ve tried one.

Do you have a favorite place to go and/or vacation spot?

I’ve toured all over the world and been to some pretty amazing places, but when I have time off, my favorite place to go is home. Nothing beats spending time with friends and family.

Is there anything that you ever regret for having done? If so, can you tell us about it?

Yeah. It’s still kinda hard for me to talk about, but this past year I turned my back on my bandmates. I was so worried about keeping our record label happy that I didn’t realize how unhappy my best friends were. I hurt my girlfriend, Stella, in the process too, and it took a while to gain everyone’s trust back.

What is one thing you wouldn't be caught dead doing?

Stella loves the The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. She tries to get me to watch it all the time, but yeah—that’s never going to happen.

What is one of the most romantic things you’ve done or have had done to you?

Okay, so Stella is obsessed with this famous photographer called Bianca Bridge. For our first date, I tracked down an art gallery that had an original Bianca Bridge print and took her there to see it. I also love cooking dinner for her, and I’ve written a song for her as well.

Have you ever gone out in public with your shirt on backwards, or your slippers on, and when realizing it, just said screw it?

Well, I’ve gone commando before. Does that count?

Do you have any summer plans that you'd like to share with us?

Mainly I’ll be busy with the rest of the band promoting Light Years Away, but any free time I have will be spent in New York with Stella. She goes to school there at SVA.

    "The Heartbreakers"
[The Heartbreak Chronicles, Book 1] by Ali Novak

    Author's Book Description :
"When I met Oliver Perry, I had no clue he was the lead singer for The Heartbreakers. And he had no idea that I was the only girl in the world who hated his music."

Stella will do anything for her sick sister, Cara—even stand in line for an autographed Heartbreakers CD… for four hours. She’s totally winning best birthday gift this year. At least she met a cute boy with soft brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes while getting her caffeine fix. Too bad she’ll never see him again.

Except, Stella’s life suddenly turned into a cheesy love song. Because Starbucks Boy is Oliver Perry—lead singer for the Heartbreakers. And even after she calls his music crap, Oliver still gives Stella his phone number. And whispers quotes from her favorite Disney movie in her ear. OMG, what is her life?

But how can Stella even think about being with Oliver—dating and laughing and pulling pranks with the band—when her sister could be dying of cancer?

Ali Novak wrote her debut novel "My Life with the Walter Boys" when she was just 15 years old, and has since penned her next book, "The Heartbreakers." First a hit on the online community Wattpad, her second novel has over 38 million reads and is loved by readers around the world.

    My Book Review :
4 out of 5 stars! Since freshman year of high school, Stella’s sister (Cara) has been battling cancer, now about four years later Cara’s battle has been getting harder. Therefore, to give Cara the “greatest 18th Birthday present EVER” Stella and their brother Drew attend The Heartbreakers (the “boy band” Cara loves) autograph signing to get Cara’s things signed by the band as the gift for her. However, the day of signing Stella’s life changes forever and her life gets more embroiled with The Heartbreakers with its leader singer Oliver than she ever expected…

All portrayed through Stella’s POV, you get a great start to a very intriguing series and band! [READ MY FULL REVIEW & THREE TEASERS]

Feasted On: Miss Hillary Schools a Scoundrel by Samantha Grace

    - This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Paperback - Pages: 427; Kindle Edition - File Size: 676 KB | Expected Release Date: February 1, 2012 | Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca | Obtained: NetGalley

"Miss Hillary Schools a Scoundrel" by Samantha Grace

My Book Summary : Ever since Lana found out about the allegations about her former betrothed were true and dumped him, the men that have been trying to get her hand-in-marriage as of late have been one fortune hunter after another. Thankfully, she knows that she will not marry any man who is not already in love with her before they wed. Nonetheless, that doesn't stop the men from trying, which is why when she first meets Lord Andrew (Drew) she is dangling from a tree since she was trying to escape a man who was trying to compromise her.

Drew is a scoundrel and everyone knows it. However, he is in a better class then Lana's previous betrothed in a way that he doesn't deal with innocents for his liaisons. Nevertheless, after Lana and Drew's brief chance meeting they both find that they cannot seem to stop being able to think about each other in some way. Therefore, when Drew's sister-in-law invites Lana to their country home for an extended visit Drew becomes determined to get Lana out of his system once and for all. However, when Lana proves to be more extraordinary than the type of ladies he's used to things and plans for both of them change. Yet it seems even when things start looking up for them someone or just life itself seems to try to keep them apart. Will they be able to work everything out or will they go back to what they originally planned for their lives?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars! Miss Hillary might not be schooling a scoundrel but she certainly did tame one!! This novel was humorous, dynamic, spicy, sweet, and very adventurous--especially for a Regency type of novel! Dealing with the time period that this novel is in, I believe the characters acted wonderfully to what was expected of them and more. Most of the characters were heartwarming in a way that I wanted to become a part of the Forest family if I could, while others were very eccentric (Lana's mother for example), and the others were sweet but still a mystery since their stories haven't be told yet (like Gabby, Jake, and Amelia).

There were some parts of this novel that I wasn't so sure about because of some of the character's "wishy washy" ways. However, the author was very good about turning around the events on you very quickly so you could never really be sure what to expect. In addition, there was an underlining mystery involved within this novel that you can never completely understand until your right on top of it that was really intriguing too!

I recommend this novel and series to anyone who is a fan of historic romance novels!!

    Book Teaser(s) :
    Teaser #1
"I can't believe this. And you're supposed to be a connoisseur of women."
"Gabrielle Forest, where did you learn such language?"
She tossed her head. "You truly are an imbecile. I possess two ears, dear brother. I hear the scandalous things the ladies say about you. How can you be ignorant to the fact that when a lady kisses you, you are expected to kiss her back?"
Heat crept up his neck to the tips of his ears. Gabby knew of his liaisons? "I was trying to be a gentleman," he mumbled. ~ within Chapter 15
"Just because you didn't stay the night doesn't mean anything."
"Lana, you urged me to go after her. I only did as you bid and comforted her."
"B-but, I didn't want you to... to comfort her overmuch."
He chuckled again, his face brightening. "I should be angry with you for casting doubt on my honor, but you are adorable when you're jealous."
    "I'm not jealous." ~ within Chapter 30

Blog Tour - The Trouble with Texas Cowboys by Carolyn Brown | Guest Post, Spreading the Word, & Sourcebooks Casablanca Western Romance Bundle Giveaway

Three Cowboys Means One Too Many...

Good morning! Hope your holidays were wonderful and that you are enjoying the beginning of a brand new year. Thank you so much for inviting me to From Me to You... to talk about Sawyer and Jill’s story, "The Trouble with Texas Cowboys."

One sexy Texas cowboy is a hand full but add two more to that mix and you’ve got trouble. Jill hadn’t even had time to get settled in the bunkhouse on Fiddle Creek when a cowboy from each of the two feuding ranches came knocking on her door with an invitation to a family gathering the very next day. Quaid Brennan was the first and she was so startled she agreed to go to Sunday dinner with him. Then when Tyrell Gallagher showed up, she felt like she had to give him equal time. Number three was Sawyer O’Donnell, the cowboy her great aunt was forcing her to share the bunkhouse with but he wouldn’t be a problem. If they got past circling each other like wary feral cats, they might be friends but that was as far as it could go.

The first thing Jill decides is that she damn sure doesn’t want a Gallagher or a Brennan. Sure, they can offer her the moon and stars and either one can give her the biggest ranch in north Texas, but they want to court her for all the wrong reasons. She’s been led down the rich-cowboy daisy path in the not-so-distant past and she knows what kind of pain and heartache lies on that road. But Sawyer−now there’s a cowboy with his smart Irish wit and willingness to protect her that she might think about falling for...just not now.

Folks might think it’s difficult for romance to bloom in the middle of winter while feeding cows, taking care of a general store and spending every evening together at the Burnt Boot Bar and Grill. But flirting and fun can sure be found while a couple is out there in the snow or while they’re working together in close quarters behind a bar or maybe trying to make their way back home after being kidnapped. And a relationship can be born when two people need a partner desperately to keep from being swallowed up by the local feud.

"The Trouble with Texas Cowboys" is the second book in a four book series. There are two more coming so keep your boots on. "One Cowboy Too Many" is Leah Brennan and Rhett O’Donnell’s story. Rhett appears in Burnt Boot riding a big motorcycle with steer horns fixed to the front and Mavis Brennan doesn’t like him from day one but her granddaughter, Leah, is quite smitten with him even though she’s had her eye on forbidden fruit (a Gallagher of all things) for years. Then there’s a fourth book that brings Betsy Gallagher to the table as the heroine. My editor and I are still working on a title for that one.

[Burnt Boot, Texas Series, Book 2] by Carolyn Brown

    Author's Book Description :
Can a girl ever have too many cowboys?

No sooner does pint-sized spitfire Jill Cleary set foot on Fiddle Creek Ranch than she finds herself in the middle of a hundred-year-old feud. Quaid Brennan and Tyrell Gallagher are both tall, handsome, and rich...and both are courting Jill to within an inch of her life. She's doing her best to give these feuding ranchers equal time-too bad it's dark-eyed Sawyer O'Donnell who makes her blood boil and her hormones hum...
