"The Gatecrasher" by Madeleine Wickham (aka Sophie Kinsella)
My Book Summary : Fleur has a habit of gatecrashing funerals. All so she can meet a rich man (even if that man may be the window), hook up with him for as long as he buys her things, then gets him to some how give her a big enough amount of money .... then she's off to the next funeral ... the next man.
Her next target is Richard, a newly widowed ten-million-dollar plus man, that believes his wife was a saint but he feels he barely knew her. Fleur has the looks and says the right things .. so by the next day after the memorial service she is already set to go out to lunch with him.
As such of a sweet man Richard may be he falls hard for Fleur, but he still feels wrong about moving on so quickly after his wife died that he takes things slow with her. Slower then she is used to. But after a couple of months she moves in with his family, and makes friends a lot quicker with some of them then most people would have believed.
But then her past and personal things come up, and Fleur rolls with the punches. However, when it's one that she might not be able to escape it's either give up and run as fast as she can to the next man ..... or stay at the place that has treated her better then she's had in years.
My Book Review : 2 out of 5 stars. I so wanted to like this book. I really did. For the most part it was fine up until her big secret (or the main one) comes out and I just had to skim through the rest to find the ending. =0P A majority of the characters I loved ..... except Philippa was a bit to whiny for me and her husband was too much of a jackass for me to read through.
My Previous Review(s) for this Author : The Wedding Girl
Book Teaser(s) :
He spun round, and felt his face freeze in disbelief. Sitting at Richard's desk, legs calmly crossed, was Fleur. His mind began to race. Had she been there all the time? Had she seen him ... ~ within Chapter 7
