Elizabeth City Wharf with a Mistress

For those who aren't familiar with Elizabeth City. Then I'll start by saying that in the downtown district is a Mariners Wharf, basically a park to the rest of the town, but to boaters it is a nice place to stay free for 48 hours on there way to their next adventure. And around this time in October every year we start seeing the docks slips becoming full of boaters heading south for the winter. It is really a sight to witness, as you can see in the photo below.

Two days ago boaters Skip & Kathleen pulled into the Elizabeth City slips on their 1930's Schooner called the Mistress. It is a gorgeous boat inside and out, I had to take some pictures of it.

On Wednesday, October 23rd Skip & Kathleen dressed up their boat with it's flags. To their request they asked if they could borrow an Elizabeth City flag to put onto their boat, which I was able to get for them.

ECACVB 2008 Co-Op Campaign - Albemarle Hospice Regatta

This video is for the Co-Op Campaign I'm doing through the ECACVB (my other job). And it's promoting the Albemarle Hospice Regatta. The only problem is the event is coming up and the radio spot I was planning on adding into it was not available yet, so I'm creating two videos for them one without the radio spot and one with. About the Dismal Swamp Visitors Center: A unique hydraulic arm bridge that spans the Dismal Swamp Canal allows access to the Dismal Swamp State Park. Boaters along the canal have 'right of way' which may cause some delay in pedestrians crossing the bridge. The visitor center/exhibit hall, restrooms and parking are handicap accessible.

Video Creation Programs Suck Sometimes

Okay ... this is a ranting post since I'm having a hell of a time with what I'm doing so I thought I'd spill. I created a video using my usual software [Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0] and after getting it all set up ... the f***ing program is saying I can't create it. I've tried everything I can think of but nothing is working. GRRRRRRR!!!!!! So, tonight I'll give up for now .. let my computer cool off [since with the thunderstorm it was hot today] .. and HOPE that it'll load/create/save tomorrow. *crossing fingers* Please wish me luck!

Since if not you won't be able to see the 2010 North Carolina Potato Festival's National Potato Peeling Contest Video(s). *sigh* That or I'll have to redo the video from scratch, which I'd rather not do if possible. =0P

Also ... once I'm finished with this one [whether it saves or I give up], I am hoping to create and upload two other Potato Fest videos about the Lucky Duck Derby and MOA's Pirate activity!
