So ... with this book list from book number 1 to number 19 Jess (the owner) had a computer malfunction and lost all of her ORIGINAL 2020 book reviews. Thankfully though Jess was hoping to start collecting her 2020 book stats so she had her ratings BUT after the mishap Jess gave up on collecting stats (she felt she already had enough to do). Jess'll try collecting stats again in 2021. Therefore, below is all that Jess has completed and links will be added as Jess goes along and officially posts the reviews that she does have. With that being said, I advance my site all the time and in doing so it takes a longer time to get it officially updated. Yes, I am a perfectionist. Anywho ... for my book reviews I have a few various locations that I have all of them sorted (I love my lists) and I started my yearly book lists in 2010. Yet as I am in the process of updating all of my lists, I have officially finished my newest list, which is this one! It is a yearly book list of all of my reviewed novels from 2009. My Book Review :3.5 out of 5 stars. When Ella was a young girl her mother and little brother died in a horrible fire that happened in their trailer with Ella surviving with only disfiguring scars on her arms to show for it. Now years later, she moves into her grandparent’s old rundown cabin in Whistle Stop trying to start her life over in a little town she spent summers in during her youth. However, because of her past she fears she will never find a man for her and has no hopes for a family of her own. That all changes once volunteer firefighter Tony and his young nephew Johnny fall into her life…
This novel was two stepping all over my emotions, mostly because while I enjoyed the build-up, plot, and characters it was hard to deal with Ella and Tony’s wishy-washy behavior throughout this novel. From beginning to end, Ella and Tony fell into a pattern of trying to move on from their pasts while unsure of which direction to fully commit to for their futures. At times, it was very annoying. Nevertheless, the plot and all of the characters won me over.
I appreciated the way Ella and Tony’s relationship slowly built and how their mutual understanding turned into something worth wild. Having both survived instants where they blamed themselves it was interesting how they moved on from those past “mistakes.” Once you add in a rowdy young orphan and a sweet puppy, you have one hopeful little family in the making. With unexpected twists and a surprising ending it kept me on my toes.
I do recommend this to anyone who is looking for a sweet contemporary romance!
Her soft, smooth lips moved beneath his, not the least bit resistant. She was like an intoxicating cocktail, and he was instantly addicted to her sweetness. Her touch turned him on more than his wildest fantasy. He longed for more of her.
She snuggled closer. The tip of her tongue slipped between his lips. He eagerly greeted her advance, and soon their tongues moved together in a timeless dance of passion.
Just a little longer, he told himself, and then he’d be able to pull away. Oh, who was he kidding? He never wanted their embrace to end. His desire ran unleashed as she responded to him. Her every touch heated the blood pulsating within him.
The more he tasted her, the more his body thrummed with need. A moan started to form in the back of his throat.
“Uncle Tony.”
They jerked apart with the speed of two exploding firecrackers. ~ within Chapter 11

My Book Review :2 out of 5 stars. All of Caroline’s life she believed that her “step-father” turned her into a bear shifter when she was little and over the years, he drilled into her the fact that she NEEDS to mate with an alpha-male-bear-shifter to keep the bloodline pure. Now her parents are divorced and her “step-father” off to who-knows-where Caroline decides to start her life over in Atlanta, Georgia. Yet, not long after she starts her new job Zane, a hot tiger shifter, comes into her life claiming that he’s her mate and there to save her. Will Caroline decide to go against everything she’s been raised to believe or follow the path she’s always been on no matter the costs?
I’m trying to review this novella critically but it’s hard, mostly because this novella being written in a third person narrative that I am not a fan of reading. Plus, it was hard to read about a shifter (i.e. Caroline) who doesn’t trust their instincts and instead follows blindly along what they’ve been taught even though all the evidence points that to do so is a bad decision. Therefore I had to rate this novella the 2 out of 5 stars that I did. The two saving graces to this novella was Zane and the plot! I really enjoyed this novella’s backstory. And Zane. *happy sigh* I could not get enough of that man! =0)
NEVERTHELESS, I DO recommend this novella to those looking for a unique shifter romance.
