I gasped theatrically, pretending to be horrified that he hadn't forgiven me. "You can trust me now!" I squeaked. "We're both adults. I'm nearly eighteen, remember? I can vote soon."
"And that is truly frightening," Jeff said. "Er . . . remind me, who's the Home Secretary?"
"Ha! Well! As it happens, I have already made plans to find out who the Home Secretary is. And the Foreign Secretary."
"Oh, you're right," Jeff mocked, "the country is safe in your hands. It's good that you didn't waste all that time when you were stuck in hospital. And, how about naming the Star Trek movies, in order?"
"One: The Motion Picture, Two: The Wrath of Khan, Three: The Search for Spock....Just because I know this doesn't mean I don't know important polit---"
"Go on," he said, raising one eyebrow. ~ within blog entry dated July 25
"Are you ready for this? They have been attended to by others, Vikirnoff and Nicolas, Natalya sometimes, but they will be ravenous for us. Feeding is part of the ritual of sealing the pack together. They're like my children."
Razvan knew she needed the distraction to feel in control again. Emotions were difficult for her. His heart fluttered in his chest and he found himself smiling at her. Happy. Just to be alive. Just to be with her on the crisp, cold evening, with the moon spilling light over her blue-black hair, framing her face so that she looked as angelic as she did sexy.
"I am certain they will be happy to be out of the ground after all these weeks," he agreed. "Let us do this and bring our family back together." ~ within Chapter 12
Her eyes shot open. "You left your children? Four of them?"
"Oh, they're not mine. I'm living with my brother's wife. I'm pretty sure the kids are his. Most of them anyway."
She sputtered. "You...he...she..."
"So when I met Melanie and she had this place available, I jumped at the chance to ditch them all. I needed the quiet."
"I see." Her outrage was at full pitch. ~ within Chapter 4
