Let it slide, let your troubles fall behind you. Let it shine, until you feel it all around you. And I don't mind, if it's me you need to turn to.

"Regina in the Sun" [Children of the Goddess Series, Book 1] by R. G. Alexander -- Regina (Reggie) is an Unborn Vampire on the run from a dark/murderous evil, running to the only person/family her sire told her that would help them all, Lux Sariel (a born vampire). However, once she arrives at the Sariel bar, called Haven, and has been given sanctuary she passes out from her massive wounds.

When Zander Sariel (older Lux's brother) sees Reggie for the first time inside his bar, he cannot take his eyes off her. In addition, when he realizes she's hurt and the only way to save her is by giving her blood, primal instinct takes over and he knows he can't allow anyone else's blood but his to save her. Once that connection happens he realizes that, she is really his grathita (his blood-bound mate).

Now once Reggie wakes up from healing she will not only have to deal with the terrors that are after her, but find she's bound to a man that their laws forbid them from joining as they have. What is she going to do?

3.5 out of 5 stars. Like most of her books, this is another keeper. Written with the matriarchal aspects that P. C. Cast's House of Night series includes, just in this series those aspects have had their back turned on by most of the characters (except the main ones), makes it that much more intriguing.
