Disappointmentville: Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos

Format: Paperback | Pages: 307 | Release Date: December 2006 | Publisher: Plume | Obtained: Friends of the Pasquotank-Camden Library - Fall Book Sale

"Love Walked In" by Marisa de los Santos

My Book Summary : When Martin walked into the cafe that Cornelia managed she didn't realize but her life was about to change forever. Cornelia definitely is smitten with him; especially since he's exactly her, type and looks just like Cary Grant (whom she has a crush on for years). Nevertheless, their relationship isn't an easy one especially when Martin takes a while to open up and he has a few secrets, Clare being one of them.

Clare is Martin's eleven-year-old daughter who is dealing with her own issues that seem to be getting out of control. She and her mother (Viviana) used to be a duo that always worked together. Yet recently Viviana has been acting strangely, not her normal-self, and not being a very good mother either.

Soon Cornelia, Clare, & Martin's lives will change in ways that none of them expect and in some ways that make them better people. If only everything else could work out the way, they want it to.

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars, this is a moving story about what happens when love comes to you in unexpected ways. I really did not enjoy this story, mostly because I hated Clare's parents (Martin & Viviana). They were both too self-involved for my liking. Plus, even though the ending was sweet and I liked who Cornelia ended up with, it still didn't end the way it should have.

I don't recommend this book but it you decide to read it then I say I hope you'll enjoy it more than I did.

On a side note -- I loved Cornelia and the way she was described. Since she's described as being quirky, a small woman, with dark short hair, and all I kept thinking about was how she was just like Kristan Higgins' Cordelia from "Until There Was You."

Author's Novel Extras : Acclaim | Excerpts | Reading Group Guide

Book Teaser(s) :
I brought up the previous tweaked quotation mainly to discuss how it's only partly accurate because, as far as I can tell, no matter what the circumstances, parenthood is thrust upon a parent. No one is ever quite ready; everyone is always caught off guard. Parenthood chooses you. And you open your eyes, look at what you've got, say "Oh, my gosh," and recognize that of all the balls there ever were, this is the one you should not drop. It's not a question of choice. ~ within Chapter 11

Disappointmentville: The Ex Games by Jennifer Echols

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 486 KB | Release Date: September 2009 | Publisher: Simon Pulse

"The Ex Games" by Jennifer Echols

My Book Summary : Four years ago, Hayden and her family moved from Tennessee to Colorado. During that time, she was in seventh grade, just recovered from a broken leg, and was swept up in being Nick's girl -- who was the hottest & richest boy at her new school -- even though they've only been on a few dates. But while on a date at the local movie theatre she found out that the only reason Nick was dating her was because of a bet with his friends, and once she found out instead of crying she bitched him out in front of everyone at the theatre (including a lot of kids from their grade).

Now they’re exes and over the years they have gotten into a habit of flirting, Nick playing tricks on her, and arguing/fighting with each other. However, during the day before their high school’s winter break they both find themselves in the hallway talking to each other and sitting mighty close together. Something’s in the air but Hayden isn’t quite sure what. She has wanted to be with Nick again ever since they had their fight four years ago but things always got in the way. Plus, it doesn’t help that she’s not sure she can trust him. Also, even though they both happen to be single right now, ever since they broke up, Nick’s longest relationship lasts only about two to three dates, and Hayden doesn’t want to just end up like all of his other girls.

During winter break Hayden wins a snowboarding competition, afterwards she celebrates with her friends, their boyfriends, and Nick. While they are all talking about her competition Nick says that she only won because she was against girls, but if she went up against a boy of her age bracket she would loose. This, of course, starts an argument between the girls and the guys, and ending with Nick and Hayden going against each other that following Saturday (Valentine’s Day) in a comp to see who’s the better boarder.

While the pressure for who will win the comp builds and it seems that the whole town is taking a side, Hayden and Nick go back and forth on getting together again or just arguing with each other and staying sort-of friends. On top of that, Nick is having family issues and Hayden is trying to conquer her fear of heights ... will they be able to fight the odds and realize what is happening between them? Or will they not make up and keep playing the game they’ve been playing since they broke up in seventh grade?

My Book Review : 2 out of 5 stars, because I liked the concept but Nick and Hayden bickered way to much for me to enjoy it. It was like the first time someone said something wrong the other person would chop off the other's head by any means necessary. However, I did like the relationship between Hayden and her younger brother ... their back-and-forth was very entertaining. =0)

My Previous Review(s) for this Author : Forget You

Book Teaser(s) :
Hayden, she's a red-haired lass
Doing nose-grabs by the score
Gonna kick some Krieger ass
Maybe she needs one day more
Wants to snowboard off the jump
Not today, she's filled with sorrow
Scared she'll lose her steeze and biff
Gonna kick some ass tomorrow. ~ within the Chapter titled 'lemon grab'
"Dish, Hayden," exclaimed a gossip-seeking girl who skied directly into my path. "It would be soooo cute if you and Nick got together after he sealed your backpack inside that plaster of Paris volcano last year."
Liz giggled and elbowed me. "I'd forgotten all about that one!"
"But my friends say no way," the girl went on. "Nick hates you. Which is it?"
I shrugged. "I guess you'll have to ask Nick." And if she found out, I hoped she'd pass that info along to me. ~ within the Chapter titled 'jib'

Disappointmentville: Texas Rodeo Barons Series, Book 5

- This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Paperback - Pages: 224; Kindle Edition - File Size: 362 KB | Expected Release Date: October 7, 2014 | Publisher: Harlequin : American Romance | Obtained: NetGalley

"The Texan's Surprise Son" [Texas Rodeo Barons Series, Book 5] by Cathy McDavid

Author's Book Description : Taken By Surprise

Jacob Baron is shocked to discover he's a father. But he's determined to do right by his son, despite the lack of strong role models in his own life. Jacob's a bull rider, and there's no halfway with him. He'll be the kind of dad his son needs...even if Cody's attractive aunt, Mariana Snow, seems to question his daddy skills at every turn.

Jacob cooks, cleans and has a nice touch with a two-year-old. He also has broad shoulders, gorgeous eyes and a mouth that can only be described as sexy. But Mariana's own part-time, no-good father was a rodeo star. She knows their charms can't be trusted. She's hanging around for Cody's sake, that's all. At least, that's what she keeps telling herself....

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars, a cowboy from a big family--who never thought he really fit in--gets the promotion of his dreams if only he can earn the championship title at the National Finals Rodeo, but months before the Finals his world gets thrown for a loop by a mesmerizing woman who informs him that her nephew is his son...

I really liked the storyline/plot for this novel. Because I feel the same way (though not for the same reasons), I liked that Mariana searched out Jacob to let him know about Cody, and I liked how the three of them built a relationship with each other. All together, they make a cute family.

Nevertheless, even though I liked the plot, it was hard to like Mariana and her mother at times. I understand that because of their past experiences it hard for them to trust men but the accusations they both gave and the level of trust Mariana wouldn't give was hard to read through at times.

However, even though this was the first novel I read from this series, it did make me interested in reading about the rest of the Baron clan. I'm also now interested to see where this series will go next.

Therefore, I do recommend this novel and series to anyone who likes contemporary romances about cowboys, and to those who are willing to keep an open mind by not letting Mariana's nuances annoy you as they did me.

Book Teaser(s) :
Before she quite realized what was happening, Jacob gave her cheek a peck. "For luck."
Her whole face instantly warmed. After that, he and Daniel sauntered off as if their entire worlds hadn't just tilted on their axis. Mariana's certainly had.
She watched Jacob's form grow smaller until he disappeared behind a metal building, the warmth spread until it reached all the way to her fingertips and toes.
"Cody, your aunt Mariana might be in a bit of trouble."
"Bye-bye."
"Yeah, bye-bye good sense." ~ within Chapter 6

"Somebody to Love" by Kristan Higgins

My Book Summary : Recently Parker's life went from "high-society" to "rubbing pennies together" when her father lost everything she had after getting mixed up in an insider-trading deal. Now except for a little money to her name all she has left is a house on a piece of land in a small town in Maine called Gideon's Cove. Therefore, this summer while her son is with his father and stepmother (Ethan & Lucy) on a three-week vacation, she'll be in Gideon's Cove fixing up the house in hopes that she can sell it.

However, as soon as she gets to her property she realizes that the house is no more than a shack that has barely made it through the years while being filled with junk and vermin. It's a bigger struggle then she thought but if she plans to make it on her own she has to restore and sell this place. So she will.

Thankfully, James, her father's lawyer and friend who is also extremely good looking even if he's five-years younger than her, has plans to help her restore the shack whether she wants his help or not. Over the time, they share together in Gideon's Cove they realize that each is not what they originally thought of the other. Yet is their mutual attraction enough to build a relationship that has many potholes already. Or is a summer fling just what they both need?

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars, this is a great story if you want to find out what and how the characters from "The Next Best Thing" & "Catch of the Day" are doing!! However, I found the plot to be dragged out and a little dull. I mean, I did love the characters main and secondary. Even though Parker is a little overly high strung, she and James played off each other really well.

In truth is the novel was okay and a little bit cute but I didn't fall in love with it as I did "Too Good To Be True" & "Until There Was You." Moreover, maybe that was my real problem with this novel was that I had to high of expectations for it because we were given updates of everyone for two of the author's past novels. I'm really not sure.

Even so, I recommend this novel to anyone who's a fan of Kristan Higgins. I just hope you like it better than I did. =0/

    Author's Book Trailer :

    Book Teaser(s) :
Once upon a time, there was a family of chipmunks who found a lovely, clean place to live for the winter. They climbed inside and got all snuggly and fell asleep. Then, alas, someone started their home, which was actually the engine of a car, and they were pulverized in their sleep. But they went to animal heaven, so it wasn't a total wash.
The Holy Rollers sighed with deep satisfaction. "Save it," Parker muttered, putting aside the red notebook she always carried in case inspiration struck. Chipmunk puree would probably not sell, no matter how much her publisher wanted a new series. ~ within Chapter 6
Once back on the interstate, James's phone chirped. One missed call...Parker.
Well. That was kind of nice. Maybe she wanted him to pick something up for dinner, as it was now after six. Unlikely, but maybe. They'd been in this war of supreme pleasantness since the night he'd dared to mention St. Ethan.
He pulled over and listened to her message. Listened to it again. And a third time.
Well, holy crap. He'd better put the pedal to the metal. Unfortunately, he was still an hour and a half away.
James couldn't help laughing as he pulled back on the highway. Parker Harrington Welles, in a holding cell. He couldn't wait to see it. ~ within Chapter 16

Husbands ... just can't have enough of them

Last night I finished reading .. "Husbands" by Adele Parks, which I'll give it 3 out of 5 stars. I mean .. it was a good book and I think I loved it right up until the last few chapters. =0P

It's about Bella/Belinda who is thirty but is still living in the past (even though she thinks she's moved on). The problem is when she moves on she has a tendency to ignore things like '2 weeks notices' or telling those around her how she really feels ... so she just walks away (by avoiding calls or moving). Which is how she has gotten into the mess that the book talks about.

It starts off about her married life with her husband Phil ... and how wonderful that life is. Then her best friend Laura gets a new boyfriend ... and the twist is that this boyfriend of Laura's is Bella/Belinda's 1st and current husband Stevie, whom she left about 8 years previously without any note and never divorced from.

Throughout the book it's all about how Bella/Belinda is planning on handling her mess of a situation (since she has 2 husbands). The book is funny, charming, and sweet ... making you wish that everything will work out for the best. And I will admit I like who all the characters ended up with. Yet I guess I just don't like the ending ... it could have been better.

However, I think I will look into more of Adele Parks' books since I do like her writing style. And I do love me some British literature. =0) To find out more about her and her books yourself ... then check out Adele's website.

Disappointmentville: Las Vegas Dragons Series, Book 1

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 454 KB | Release Date: June 24, 2013 | Publisher: Entangled Publishing : Covet | Obtained: Amazon.com

"Luck of the Dragon" [Las Vegas Dragons Series, Book 1] by Susannah Scott

Author's Book Description : Luciana de Luca has a PhD in sass and gemology—and a problem. Her twin brother’s gambling debts have gotten out of hand, and a mob enforcer is blackmailing her for access to the million dollar jewel exhibit at the lastest, greatest mega-casino on the strip. Although Lucy has worked her whole life to get away from her family’s grifter past, to save her brother, she dons three-inch Manolo Blahniks and a sluts-r-us dress and struts into Alec’s Gerald’s casino.

Alec Gerald, a shape-shifting dragon, has built the Crown Jewel casino to provide sanctuary for his people amongst the flash and awe of the Las Vegas. Alec must find his destined mate or lose his dragon form forever—unfortunately, his mate turns out to be the sexy little thief trying to rob his exhibit. With enemies in every corner, and the all-important mating ceremony looming, Alec and Lucy must learn to trust each other, before time runs out for Alec and the rest of the dragons.

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars. A burly dragon-shifter leader finally finds his mate, now if he can get her to stop stealing from him everything might be perfect! This series has a lot of potential with it's unique storyline about the dragons' mating and their upbringings to their current course of creating a "home base" in Las Vegas trying to "hide in plain sight."

With all that being said, I wanted to like this novel but I just was not a fan of Lucy's at all. I found her as a bad enabler for her twin brother, someone who kept trying and trying to get herself away from her past but allows her brother to reel her back in time and time again, and someone who doesn't trust easily which makes her a bit wishy washy in her actions throughout this novel. Therefore, when reading this novel I just couldn't get into liking Lucy's character, she was good in the beginning but after her actions (and her brother's too) repeatedly repeating themselves I had to force my way through it by the time I was about halfway through.

Overall, I don't recommend this book but I do have hope for this series. Good luck to those who decide to read it and I hope you'll like Lucy more then I did.

Author's Novel Extras : How I lost my head... | A summer day and some R-rated behavior, Harlequin Junkie spotlight post | GIVEAWAY and LUCK OF THE DRAGON teaser!

Author's Series Extras : Coming Soon...

    Book Teaser(s) :
"What's so important that you pull me away from my mate?" He couldn't help the broad smile that stretched his mouth. To find one's mate, it was the work of a lifetime for a dragon.
Leo gaped at him and pushed away from the wall. "Your mate? But, she is a human, and she stole your keycard."
"Yes, I am aware of that." Alec gave a what-else-you-got shrug.
"Does she wear your dragon mark?"
"Not yet." Alec ground his teeth. ~ within Chapter 8

"Only His" [Fools Gold Series, Book 6] by Susan Mallery

My Book Summary : Nevada has an interview for her dream job at Janack Construction, the prospect of working in a new environment but still living in her hometown is very compelling. However, when she goes in for the interview instead of seeing the owner she sees his son, Tucker, a man who completely broke her heart 10 yrs ago and she was hoping she would never have to face again.

Although Tucker knows what he has done in his past was wrong he also knows that Nevada is perfect for his new construction project. So, after a bit of apologizing Nevada accepts the position as long as they can leave the past behind them. Starting over and building a friendship between each, other is easier than either one of them expected. However, when it seems like their relationship could take a turn for the better, a person from their past comes back into their lives and starts to cause problems for the town, making the Mayor put them in charge of the situation. Will their past, both literally and figuratively, get in the way or will they be able to make it through?

My Book Review : 5 out of 5 stars!!!! "Only His" is a witty, smart, and fun novel that reminded me as to why I am addicted to Susan Mallery's Fools Gold series. The plot twists and surprises in this book are extreme in a way I never expected the author to take them, but I enjoyed the ride and I cannot wait for her next books in this series, "Only Us: A Fool’s Gold Holiday" / "Summer Days" / "Summer Nights" / "All Summer Long", to come out!!

I loved the back-story between Nevada, Tucker, and Cat. Nevada and Tucker's relationship had twists all over the place but I was rooting for them the whole time. Then, I'm very happy to report, Denise and Max's story wraps up nicely and the other major secondary story is very appealing too, where you find out another back-story of a character that the author kept hinting at but never filled in until now. Plus, catching up on what is happening with characters from previous books is always fun too.

If you are a fan of Susan Mallery's books or just a fan of Fool's Gold, then you'll love this story!!!

    He held up a condom.
"Fascinating office supplies," she said as she pulled off her boots.
"He keeps them around for the guys, more as a joke than anything else."
"I've always liked Will." ~ within Chapter 9

Disappointmentville: The Paladins Series, Book 1

    - This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon: Kindle Edition - File Size: 321 KB | Expected Release Date: December 27, 2015 | Publisher: Liquid Silver Books | Obtained: Magic of Books Promotions

"Wolf's Blade" [The Paladins Series, Book 1] by Clare Dargin

Author's Book Description : Samantha Dixon rescues a wounded wolf shifter in the woods near her home … and unwittingly gets drawn into a dangerous game of cat and mouse with a murderer. Callum Blake is on the trail of an evil man who would be king of all wolf kind, no matter the cost … it’s up to Callum to stop him. How can Callum fulfill his duty to protect his pack and save the woman who is destined to be his mate? Filled with passion, action, and suspense, "Wolf’s Blade" is Book 1 of Clare Dargin’s new paranormal romance series, The Paladins.

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars, Callum has been away from his pack for a while on the hunt for the werewolf who stole a sacred dagger that, if all the stars align right, has the ability to make its owner the King of all wolf kind. The major problem is the thief is only doing it for the power of it all and will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even if that means killing anyone in his path and taking the one woman Callum believes is the one for him. Will Callum be able to achieve his goal against all odds or will evil finally win…

I admit I’m having a hard time reviewing this novel. While its plot and main characters intrigued me, I found this novel didn’t flow as smoothly as I would have liked, which made me struggle to get through it at times. Nevertheless, I LOVED Callum’s integrity and tenacity to do what he believed was right no matter what odds seemed to be stacked against him. In addition, as the novel progressed I found myself interested and slightly invested in the plot that by the end I was hoping for more.

Overall, I DO recommend this novel to those looking for a unique paranormal romance.

Disappointmentville: Gypsy Lovers Series, Book 3

Format: Kindle Edition | File Size: 128 KB | Release Date: June 14, 2012 | Publisher: Breathless Press | Obtained: Amazon.com

"The Gypsy and the Widow" [Gypsy Lovers Series, Book 3] by Juliet Chastain

My Book Summary : Now that Joanna's husband has died her life has been turned upside down, because of how he gambled all of their savings and property away. However, her husband's friend, Sir Edward, is "kind" enough to help her out with his servant to assist her on a daily basis and has recently announced his willingness to marry her once the time is right.

Yet even though Sir Edward's proposal would help Joanna with any financial troubles and give Joanna's son a father figure for him to look up too, Joanna's heart and wants belong to someone else--Tem--a handsome gypsy who seems to be a kinder man then she had ever met before. The problem for both of them is that neither of their wants (they'd like to be together) coexist with the beliefs they've grown up with. Can they overcome a lot of prejudices about each other's "people" so they can get what they both really want? Or will Sir Edward, Tem's Gypsy clan, and the beliefs they've grown up to believe get in the way of it all?

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars. Two people from opposite worlds find a way to make things work out between them during unusual circumstances.

I had such high hopes for this novella ever since I did a promo for it earlier this year. However, even though I knew it was a short story before I even started it, it rushed through everything so quickly that it was hard to thoroughly enjoy the chemistry between Tem & Joanna as much as I would have liked. Plus, the ending wrapped up everything very unrealistically for me to enjoy it.

I wish I could recommend this novella to you but I can't. So, I'll only recommend it if you are a fan of Ms. Chastain and/or this series.

Author's Novel Extras : Book Excerpt

    Book Teaser(s) :
There is no need to dress with such care just to cross the meadow to the field. He will be busy—working like the others. Against her will, she remembered how he had smiled at her yesterday. How somehow he had reminded her that she was a woman with the desires of her sex.
All she sought today were playmates for Nash, she told herself firmly. And besides, there was no harm in seeking the comfort of another person who had been widowed, but she knew that wasn’t true. She needed no comfort for the loss of her husband. What she wanted, wrong or right, was to have a few moments with him, Tem Lovell.
She shook her head. I must not think of Tem Lovell. I shall marry Sir Edward who has always been so considerate of myself. He neither drinks nor gambles and I will have no worries. For a moment she remembered her anger when he had shouted at the Gypsy children and called them foul names. He was but thinking of my well-being; it was perhaps neither appropriate to allow them inside, nor to play that way with them. She smiled. In truth she had like playing with them. She had liked their infectious laughter. She had liked the way they included Nash in their games. She had like the way they tried to speak English to her, even the smallest among them, little Eleanor.
And I liked the way Tem swung the children in the air and laughed with them. But no, she must not think like this. I must not think of Tem. And I must not think of him as Tem; he is Mr. Lovell to me.
She would stay out there while Nash played. That way she would know he was safe. And, perhaps Tem will speak with me—
“No! I will not think like that, I must not,” she said aloud. ~ within Chapter 2

Feasted On: My Captor, My Love by Leah Matheny

    - This is an ARC book - Available Formats through Amazon.com: Paperback - Pages: 312; Kindle Edition - File Size: 357 KB | Release Date: August 2011 | Publisher: Self-Published | Obtained: Leah Matheny

"My Captor, My Love" by Leah Matheny

My Book Summary : Recently Danielle (Dani) lost some weight making men notice her more. So, when on vacation in Mammoth Lakes with her friend Dani never expects to have men fighting over her, let alone kidnap her from the horseback riding group she was with to take her back to their village.

Throughout the week it takes to get to the village Dani comes to realize she is deeply attracted to one of her captors, Honon, but no matter what happens between them Dani is determine to find a way to escape him and his friends. She isn't able to escape before they make it to their village but by that time, her feelings for Honon have grown even more. Nevertheless, misunderstandings happen leaving Honon mad at Dani and his friends not wanting to believe anything they have to say. As time passes at the village even Dani still misses her friends in her normal life and wants to go home, she learns that she likes the village and the people who live there. Dani starts thinking that if she could just change Honon's mind about her (with the help of his parents and friends) she might be willing to stay there permanently. However, will she ever be able to get back together with Honon, will he ever believe her, and will Dani ever be able to stay in the village without the need to want to go back to everything she use to know??

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars, this story is a wonderful and unique take as a contemporary romance, that deals with Native American's kidnapping women for their village based in the twenty-first century. I really liked how the plot is mostly from Dani's perspective and then at the point when you really might hate Honon you get his point-of-view, pretty much redeeming himself in my book. After read the 'Author Book Description' I never expected this book to have the twists that it did or to enjoy it as much as I did!

Dani is a really inspiring character because of the way she "grows" throughout this novel. Honon is very passionate but at times I really hated him. However, the village, Honon's friends, and Dani's best friends are who really livened up this novel making it so you just have to finish it!! I cannot wait to see where Liwanu & Karen's relationship will go in "My Perfect Man." Also, I hope Kosumi will find someone for him soon too since he is such a sweet character. ♥

I recommend this novel to anyone who would like to read about a very unique contemporary romance. =0)

    Book Teaser(s) :
He walked to the fire, grabbed food, and brought some back to me. But I just sat there, not able to eat while I kept looking all around me to make sure Meanie wasn't near. Every once in awhile Honon nudged me and pointed to my food, so I'd take a bite; but my head whipped around every time I heard something. The men just sat talking. I was almost finished eating when I heard a twig snap somewhere behind me and I just about jumped in Honon's lap. He put his arm around me and rubbed my arm, giving comfort.
I never saw Meanie return. Honon turned to lie down and brought me down with him, holding me close to him. I finally felt safe. ~ within Chapter 4
“Dani, you seem like a very intelligent young woman,” Sitala said, taking hold of my hands. “You also seem to be blocking out the fact that you can never leave. You will spend the rest of your life here.”
Panic rose instantly, and I stood up and started walking backwards. “No...you can‟t do this to me. I have a job I have to get back to, I have friends...I have a life!” I had to get out of there. My head started to spin. ~ within Chapter 7

"Matched to a Billionaire" [Happily Ever After, Inc. Series, Book 1] by Kat Cantrell

Author's Book Description : Wanted: one convenient wife

Venture capitalist Leo Reynolds is married to his work, but now he needs a wife. Someone to run his home, host his parties—and accept a marriage that’s strictly business. His one rule: love will play no part in their union. At least that’s the lie he tells himself, until he meets his match....

Enter Daniella White—handpicked by the matchmaker as the perfect wife. Marriage to Leo means security, and she’s willing to give up passion for friendship. But the moment they meet, sparks fly. And now temptation—and Leo’s own heart—have the billionaire ready to change all the rules.

My Book Review : 2.5 out of 5 stars. A Cinderella-esque type of romance novel where a match making service sets up the hero and heroine and they have strong feelings when it comes to staying married no matter what. Together Leo & Dannie match up perfectly; it just takes a while for them both to believe it.

Overall, I feel this novel was a great beginning for this series. As I can't wait to see, where it'll go next!

My only wish, however, was that I liked Leo as a character more and the novel wasn't so slow that, at times, I didn't have to force myself to keep reading.

Nevertheless, I do recommend this novel and series to those who love fairy tale style romances!

    - On a side note -
Tommy was my favorite character in this novel!! So I hope he'll be in this series more and/or have a novel of his own at some point.

Leo Reynolds wished he could marry his admin. It would make life so much simpler.
Unfortunately, she was already married and nearly twice his age. ~ within Chapter 1
Oh, dear God. She should be negotiating his contracts, not his lawyer.
"You're driving me bananas. No. Worse than that." He squeezed the top of his head but his brain still felt as though she'd twirled it with a spaghetti fork. "What's worse than bananas?"
"Pomegranates," she said decisively. "They're harder to eat and don't taste as good."
He bit back a laugh. Yes, exactly. His incredibly perceptive wife drove him pomegranates. "That about covers it." ~ within Chapter 7
