So I’ll drive so fucking far away that I never cross your mind. And do whatever it takes in your heart to leave me behind.

Pages: 328 | Release Date: October 2008

"Angel's Pain" [Wings in the Night Series, Book 15] by Maggie Shayne -- Briar has never been able to trust men, all because since she was 11 yrs old any man that got close to her has used her and/or abused her. So, she's made a point not to care for anyone and she has a long hit-list of those who've hurt her that she plans on making them pay. However, ever since she joined Reaper and his misfit gang of vampires who are also hunting her old mentor, Gregor, know matter how hard she tries to deny it she's opening up more to those around her. Especially now that she's trying to save Crisa (the vampire she has a blood bond with) who seems to have people talking to her in her mind and they now seem to possibly be controlling her. Just will she be able to save Crisa in time, also before Gregor happens to hunt her down instead ....

3 out of 5 stars. Good book -- however, since it was the last book in the series (so far) and this is the first book from the series that I've read it did become a little confusing but I was able to keep up with it for the most part. Definitely action packed!!

For more information on this book, series, and/or any of Maggie's other books, then please check out her website.

"Sleepless In Scotland" [MacLean Curse Series, Book 4] by Karen Hawkins -- Living in 1811 and being in London's High Society, have its consequences if you do not keep up decorum. This is what happens to Caitriona and Hugh when they try saving their siblings from themselves, however instead their plans backfire. Then they find themselves in compromising positions (at least for 1811), and since other people become aware of the situation they ended up in, the two are forced to marry each other.

Even though both do not want to marry each other, Caitriona tries to make the best of it, while Hugh tries to keep her from being as involved in his life as much as he can – especially when that means anything to with his daughters. Now with only a few months together (per Hugh’s “order”), so Caitriona can rebuild her reputation then move back into her family’s home, she has put up with the family she married into, that seems to not want her there, while trying to make them realize she is exactly what they needed. Will she succeed before it’s too late?

4 out of 5 stars. It's the first time I've read a book from this series and if this book is any estimation of the whole series then I would definitely recommend it to all of you! It was sweet, funny, and a great historical romance!!

Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone. I'll be waiting, all that's left to do is run.

Pages: 339 | Release Date: March 2010

"Hourglass" [Evernight series, Book 3] by Claudia Gray -- Would you be able to run away from everything you’ve known and held dear for the one you love? In this novel Bianca and Lucas try to accomplish exactly that.

At first they try to hide within the Black Cross organization, however when one of them is a born vampire trying to fit into a vampire hunting society can be harder then it seems.

When they assume nothing could get worse, Bianca and Lucas are tossed into the middle of another battle between both sides, then the Black Cross captures one of their friend’s as a prisoner, and they know it’s time to try to make it on their own. Luckily, some friends from low places help them here-and-there to get by. Yet since Bianca had decided never to become a full vampire they are still wondering what will happen to her now, especially as changes to her are slowly happening, it looks like they wont have to wait long to find the answer...

4 out of 5 stars! This is a great sequel to "Stargazer"! It had me laughing and crying when I least expected it. Bianca and Lucas are the epitome of Romeo and Juliet, and that made all the scenes that more enchanting to read. In addition, the novel has a great balance of the humor and serious sides of the storyline that make you want to keep reading. I just couldn't get enough and I can't wait until "Afterlife" comes out!!

"Perfect Strangers" by Jahnna N. Malcolm [aka Jahnna Beecham and Malcolm Hillgartner] -- Getting picked on in high school is never easy but having a humiliating event happen to you in front of the entire high school student body can be a catastrophe for any freshman. Madison had such an event happen to her during her freshman year Homecoming celebrations, and has been holding a grudge against Jeremy (the boy who put the catastrophe in motion) ever since.

Now almost three years later at the end of their junior years to major events are happening. One event being the school is starting a “pen pal” program. The program is set up so the students have been randomly matched with someone in their own grade so they might be able to share their inner most thoughts without reveling their identities to the other person. In a way the program make is so if anyone is having issues with something they’ll have someone who they can vent to who won’t be able to gossip about it to anyone else. With the program Madison is definitely reveling who she would truly like to be to her “pen pal”, more so then she has even told her friends, and is finding that they have more in common then she would have thought.

The second event is the election for Class Presidency is starting up, which is something that Madison has been wanting to win since her freshman year. The only problem is her enemy, Jeremy, is one of the people she is running up against. She hasn’t spoken to him or been around him since that time at the Homecoming Game and she doesn’t want to, but now there is no way to avoid it.

As the election heats up and Madison’s “pen pal” letters start heating up too. Will her “pen pal” finally be reveled? Will she win the class presidency? Dive into "Perfect Strangers" to find out all the juicy details!

4.5 out of 5 stars! It is a sweet YA book. For the short length of the book the characters are really well written and come together nicely! The book reminds me of Megan McCafferty’s Jessica Darling series, since you have the same type of main characters (the straight-laced girl and the slightly eccentric handsome guy) only with a shorter more straight-to-the-point plot.
