Northeast North Carolina's Carolina Loop

This is a video I created for the ECACVB a while ago but I never got around to posting it here. So, if you are a boater that's interested in the 'Great Loop' then I would recommend you checking this out:

Video Description: On Saturday, April 18th 2009, the Carolina Loop was finally launched. Elizabeth City along with Camden County and Currituck County will hosted a Rose Buddy reception around 4:00 pm at the Mariners Wharf Park under the big tent at the downtown waterfront in Elizabeth City, NC.

Hey all ... you might not care but I thought it was neat ... I'm in an Elizabeth City Area CVB Ad that's located in the Outer Banks Visitor Guide. Holidays on the Harbor ...

Elizabeth City's Downtown Business & Professionals Assn. is doing activities all this week for the holiday season and they're calling it Holidays on the Harbor. Part of that they are doing something called Find The GINGER BREAD MEN, where certain downtown businesses have a gingerbread man somewhere in their store and throughout the week locals and visitors can go around, try to find these gingerbread men, once they find them get their forms stamped ... then turn their forms in at Page After Page Bookstore ... then tomorrow (December 12th) at the Holidays on the Harbor event in Mariners Wharf park (click here for more info) they'll announce the winners for this along with other activities they're planning on having there. Anyway ... those same businesses (well most not all) are participating in a business holiday decorating contest (about 14 businesses). And I was asked to be one of the judges. So, today after work I went around and judged which storefront I liked the best. And I have taken photos of my top 3 ... plus some others ... but here are my top three:

#1 - My Winner - Selig's Jewelers


#2 - Firefly


#3 - Page After Page Bookstore

The official winners will be announced tomorrow ... but I just wanted to share! =0) I hope everyone's holiday shopping is going good. I have barely even started mine. =0/ I guess I should start this weekend. *hahaa*

GINGERBREAD HOUSE TIME!!!

Are you good at creating gingerbread houses?? Truthfully I don't remember if I am or not since it has been sucha long time since I have created one ... but if you are into that type of thing and your in or around Elizabeth City, NC then don't forget to sign up for the Gingerbread House contest!! To get more info about it click here or call Page After Page Bookstore at 252-335-7243. Definitely if you're interested then call TODAY since their announcing the winners tomorrow at the Holiday on the Harbor event.

Tis life in the slow lane ...

Well this past Friday I found out that my position is moving from Full-Time to Part-Time. Which I am still upset about and sometimes I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack with all the stress that I feel in my chest. So, I've been going to the library lately (since I need to conserve my money till I get either a better job or some part-time jobs) to keep my mind off the negative things. In the past few days I've already finished reading "Dreamland" by Sarah Dessen, "Honey, Baby, Sweetheart" by Deb Caletti, and "How to Be Popular" by Meg Cabot. All of those books were cute ... but nothing great to report about them. I am getting "Tempted" (from the House of Night series) by PC and Kristin Cast tomorrow since I pre-ordered it (YAY!!!) ... but other then that I need to start picking them up from the library. Any other books you might be able to recommend for me??

But anyways ... I'm now job hunting ... for anything that will make up for the money I'm loosing out on. *shakes head* Hopefully things will work out for the better! =0)
