A new way of looking at the world awaits you in "Cry Wolf" (part of the Alpha and Omega series) by Patricia Briggs. This book is the beginning of a new series of Patricia's, also it starts at the very end of a short story of hers called "Alpha and Omega" which is in the book "On The Prowl". I haven't read the short story but you might want to before you read this book, since even though you don't need too to be able to get an understanding of what happened, but of course, it will give you more info if you do. *shrug* Anyways ....
The story starts right after Charles and Anna have met and bonded halfway. Meaning that their wolves (or wolf forms) have chosen each other as their mates but now their human selves need to complete the process by doing the same. But it's not as easy as it sounds, especially when Anna was forced into becoming a wolf 3 yrs prior and is used to getting abused by her previous pack, making it so she definitely does not trust easily. Add to that a witch who sets up camp in the woods within the packs territory, killing locals who come to close to her, and things get harder for Charles and Anna who are sent in to take-care-of this intruder.
4 out of 5 stars. I wasn't sure at first how I would like this world and it's characters but as soon as I started reading the book I couldn't put it down. Great setting ... I liked how you can every point of view so the story is that much more believable!!

"Moonshine" [Carnal Powers Series : Tales from Mystic Valley, Novella 1] by Moira Rogers
My Book Summary : After getting dumped by her human boyfriend Claire goes into a bar called Dos Culebras trying to awaken her wild side, if she has one. Once there Lars catches her eye, they start talking, and after awhile he seem open to help her out so they take a little Moonshine [a drink that is like a shifter aphrodisiac] in the back alley and go back to his place.
However, after they get into the swing of things Lars wants to have her but only when she isn't intoxicated. It also doesn't help that Claire has never let her wild side out before so she doesn't know if it'll happen for her without assistance of Moonshine or alcohol.
Will she be able to change her ways? Since she was raised a good girl will she even want to?
My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars. For a really short story I did like it! The characters were great! And if I ever read the actual Carnal Powers Series then I'll be interested to see the parts they play in "Last Hope".
He paused for a moment, then set down his bottle. "I know who you are, you know."
It figured. Coyotes weren't rare, but there were only ten female coyotes in town compared to the fifty or so males. She turned her eyes back to the man and ran them over him in an assessing manner that bordered on insulting. "Really? Haven't seen you in any of my classes. You don't look like the college type."
He just grinned, and the simple action transformed his face from broodingly dangerous to dangerously handsome. "Touchy bitch." ~ within Chapter 1

My Book Review :3 out of 5 stars!! This is the FINAL novel from Ms. Ryan’s Dante's Circle Series. Here we follow Eliana and Malik as they come to terms with their future, find out more about Eliana’s true self, and take on the reins of parenthood while Malik takes on his new role of leader of his pride. However, not everyone is in favor of Malik ruling over them and will stop at nothing to take him down. What will Eliana have to do to keep her new family together forever? Will the sacrifice be worth it?
This novel was very cute! Yet, while I appreciated the updates that happened for all of Eliana’s friends/family at the beginning and end of this novel, I found the first 30% of this novel hard to read through. I found it difficult mostly because, while I liked Eliana and Malik together as a couple, they come back together in a rushed and kind of unrealistic way. It was hard to appreciate their struggle and joining, as I would have liked. Though once mated I found the plot to become more fast-paced and entertaining.
Together their attraction and chemistry are undeniable. What threw me off in the beginning with Malik was just as Eliana states in Chapter 3 ::
The king of the freaking jungle was an asshole.
Nevertheless, once they overcome that, they become a powerfully protective duo that will do whatever it takes to keep their family together. I loved the scenes based around their child. So heartwarming!
I HIGHLY recommend this novel and series to those who are fans of Ms. Ryan and/or looking for a unique paranormal romance!

My Book Summary : Avery has spent most of her life living in the woods. And even though they might not realize it from the first time he sets his eyes on her a connection between them occurs.
With that connection, they get closer, and when they do, she finds out what he really is. Will she be scared of him now, and keep away from him? Especially when more murders occur and he might be connected ...
My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars! This is an unusual take on the "Little Red Riding Hood" story we all grew up with, where the bad guy definitely isn't who you think. Creative, dark, and romantic are some of the words I'd use to describe this book. In truth, I didn't like the book during the first few chapters because of how dark it was and I'm not one to like all that goriness ... but that's just me. So ... if you like a good mystery novel then I'd recommend this book for you!

"You heard a wolf? How could you hear that? You live in town."
"I'm used to hearing them, so I guess I know what to listen for," I said. "I live---lived---near your great-uncle, remember? The woods are deeper there, without so much---" I gestured toward town, toward Renee's house off in the distance.

"Oh, okay," I said, and sank back against the tree, ready to watch him go.

"The Reckoning" [Darkest Powers Series, Book 3] by Kelley Armstrong starts with Chloe and her friends staying at a hide-away location with one of their parent’s friends, just after escaping with the Edison Group for the second time. Within this novel Chloe has to deal with poltergeists, full demons, lesser demons, and just plan old ghosts either trying to kill her, possess her body,or eat her. Thankfully, Chloe is surrounded by friends [Derek – the werewolf, Simon – the sorcerer, & Tori – the sorcerer/witch aka spell caster], who try to stick together as much as possible particularly since everyone else around them are telling them lies, so they can never be sure who’s telling them the truth anymore. So, if they try to make it on their own again, where will they go? Whom can they trust? And ... will their lives ever get back to normal?
4.5 out of 5 stars! If it’s true that this is the last novel of the Darkest Powers series or at least of Chloe’s story, then I am very happy with the way it turned out as it surpassed all of my expectations! It kept me riveted with all the action scenes and the love triangle. =0) I was rooting for Chloe & Derek!!! ♥
