My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars, after her college dorm floods out Natalie moves into a new dorm that she’ll be sharing with three other guys. Not long in to living there she finds she’ll be sharing a whole lot more with them too.

This was another reread that I did because of losing my original rating and review for it (find out the whole story on my blog) but it was also in conjunction with Smutathon (a readathon hosted over on youtube through gingerreadslainey & Riley Marie’s channels). Now I of course knew this was a smutty read before I even reread it … I mean look at the cover. But I had forgotten (a bit) about how this novel’s plotline would go so I was excited to pick it up again. Therefore,

"Stray" [Shifters Series, Book 1] by Rachel Vincent

My Book Summary : Have you ever seen a "black panther" before? Well, in this world there is no such thing as a "black panther", actually if you've seen one it is really a werecat (which is a type of shifter). Faythe is a werecat. Technically in her society, she's called a tabbycat, as she is a female werecat. Since there are so few tabbycat's in each werecat Pride across the US (about one, daughter, per Alpha), the tabbies usually choose who will be her husband and the next Alpha of her Pride. But five yrs ago Faythe ran away her boyfriend/fiancé (Marc) and her family so she wouldn't turn into a mother and house wife because she wanted more out of her life. Of course, they found her, and after they realized she wasn't going to change her mind, her dad (the Alpha) agreed to let her go to college. Faythe did so, moving on with her life as much as possible, hoping to never go back to her parents home, and dating other guys (all humans).

But now, five yrs later, her family has come to bring her back home whether she likes it or not because of some one is stealing up neighboring Pride's tabbies (one being her friend and the other her younger cousin). Once home she feels there's no need for her to be there and tries to talk her father into letting her leave, which gets her into having 24-hour guard service to make sure she doesn't plan on running for it. Also, with Marc being her father's second-in-command, he is around her all the time, making her not sure if she should still keep her distance or not from him. Especially when old feelings start to emerge again.

But things start getting worse fast, especially when they find one of the missing tabbies murdered .... her family helps the other Pride members search for the other tabby before it's too late. With everyone else dealing with the mess of the missing girls, Faythe manages to break away from everyone to think about everything that has happened in a short period of time for her, and falls right into a trap.

Will she manage to come out better then the other tabbies? Will the Pride members find Faythe and the other girl before it's too late, and deal justice to the ones responsible?

My Book Review : 3 out of 5 stars! Faythe is a great strong character: fierce, determined, a protector to those she loves, though a bitch at times, with a small sweet side that is sometimes hard to find around her loud mouth. Her relationship with Marc is on rocky ground but it's hard not to root for them. Even though she happens to get into a bit of a love triangle (or should I say a square) with a friend she never considered before, and with a human boyfriend back at college. It definitely make me curious as to what book 2, "Rogue", might hold. =0)

This is the way That I say I'm Yours

Why I like these mate finding type of stories is beyond me ... but for a short story (around 200 pages -- 9 chapters) "Claiming Their Mate" (A Feral Attraction story.) by Paige McKellan isn't half bad. The differences between the past few that I've read and this one is ... one: the main person is a female named Jules who's fathers are stepping down as the Leos (aka the big cahoonas) of their pride leaving the Lioness position to Jules who now needs to find her mates to take on the role (even though she doesn't feel ready for the position yet) ... and two: yes I did say MATES not MATE!

2.5 out of 5 stars. So ... if you haven't guessed already the reason I chose to read this book in the first place was yes I like this type of quick book .... but mostly because the main character needs to find a pair of mates instead of just one. I wasn't quite sure how this would work out at first. I mean I've read a few like this so far .... but it's always just been couples ... not trios. LOL. But I definitely give it an A+ for creativeness. In a weird way Paige made it so you of course root for everyone involved ... and you get to read a few sexual escapades along the way. Which is the point .... so if you are into mate finding books check this one out. *hahaa*

My Book Summary : Colin is a detective, but also shifter who grew up in foster care making it so he doesn't know much about the Other world, and even less about his kind. Emily isn't your 'typical therapist' she is what other people like to call the "Monster Doctor," meaning her clients are mostly (if not all) part of the Other world (shifters, vampires, etc), but she screens them first so she only takes those she believes are "nice." In addition, even though Emily is a human, she is also an empath, making her able to read the minds of all of those in the Other world and pinpoint what they are before they tell her.

Recently, Colin has gotten a case that deals with a series of killings happening in the area, and the main suspect happens to be a shifter. Colin's chief brings on Emily help the case, since her ability would really help them find the killer faster, hopefully.

However, Colin has always kept those around him in the blind about what he is, he gets very edgy about having the good doc get to close to him. Emily has a few secrets of her own she would like to keep hidden. But when some of the killings hit closer to home some things from her past just won't stay buried, and she turns to Colin bringing them closer then they could have dreamed. But can to people fall in love, overcome their differences, and hunt the bad guy before the bad guy has a chance to rip them apart forever?

My Book Review : 4 out of 5 stars!! I think this one might just be my favorite Cynthia Eden book that I've read of hers thus far!! The characters were fresh, the book was inviting --drawing me in so much so that I didn't want to put it down-- and it keeps you guessing about who the killer might me the whole way through!! It's a sexy and thrilling read that will instantly make you addicted to this series!

My Book Review : 3.5 out of 5 stars! This is a reread for me because this novel I had read in November of 2019 and before I had posted my official review/rating, I had lost it (find out the whole story on my blog). Therefore, this novel was chosen as a reread because I did remember enjoying it before, didn’t remember all of the plotline – which made it, so I got to enjoy it more, and I was in the mood for a paranormal polyamorous romance to read.

What I found was this novel held up all my expectations, except for the end. Though I cannot say I loved this novel the whole way through, I did thoroughly

"Spirit Bound" [Vampire Academy Series, Book 5] by Richelle Mead

My Book Summary : This story leads off with Rose back at St. Vladimir's with Lissa and her friends getting ready for their last few days of school. With those last few days come the tests to see if she'll be able to become an official guardian. After she does go through the course, came the celebration of it all and then the reality that she is now on her own, officially.

Afterwards, Rose heads to the Royal Court, along with Lissa, Christian, and the rest of her guardian graduating class. However, once there Rose plans on going through with finding a way to save Dimitri (a way that will turn him back from being a Strigoi), but in doing so she needs to find her source which would be Victor Dashkov's half-brother Robert who supposedly had already turned a Strigoi back before. The problem is to do all of that she needs to get to Victor first who just happens to be in a maximum security prison for all of his crimes, among his crimes was trying to control and hurt Lissa, which happened in "Vampire Academy" (Book 1).

Once they return back to Court, Rose gets in trouble for braking them out and is set into a lot of busy work to keep her away from her friends as punishment. But when Lissa goes away to check out the college she plans to attend during her birthday, Dimitri catches up with her and uses her as bait to get to Rose.

Then all hell brakes loose .....

My Book Review : 4.5 out of 5 stars!! This book leaves you with more questions then answers, but it was a great lead up story to what will be the final book in this series "Last Sacrifice." It was heartfelt, funny, intriguing, suspicious, and all-around entertaining! The characters got more developed in this book, with major twists that you don't see coming. I hope that things will turn out well during the last book and answer all of my questions .... I can't wait to find out!

My Musings :

• Adrian is so sweet, I hope things work out for him.
• With that being said ... I still love Rose & Dimitri as a couple and I hope they are able to work out their "issues" and get back together.
• I wonder how Abe is going to help Rose out of this mess she's in? Any suggestions?
• Who do you think the Queen was talking about in her note that Ambrose gave Rose?
  • I think they might be talking about Jill. However, it could be someone new ...
• Do you remember in the last book, "Blood Promise," how Avery put Rose into that space inside her head, where she was at a home and Dimitri was there and everything was okay, only it was a lie? Well have you ever thought that that could have been the actual future of events to come, instead of some dream that Avery put together. I mean I know it's a long shot, but since we don't really know everything that spirit users can do ... you just never know. So, that's one thing I'm hoping for at least.

Looking for a great romance story that isn't 500 pages long? Well ... "The Wallflower" (part of the Halle Pumas series) by Dana Marie Bell would be one for you to look into. It's a cute story, but a quick read (over 200 pages but under 300 pages) that I couldn't out down! It's about Max & Emma who have known each other since they were teens but after moving in different directions (by going to college and just growing up), they find themselves living in their hometown again. Emma has always been in love with Max growing up, but thinks that since he has never dated someone like her she doesn't stand a chance with him. However, Max is instantly drawn to Emma as soon as he hears her speak ... and now the two can't get enough of each other. The only problem is Max's ex just can't take NO for an answer .. know matter what.

3 out of 5 stars, this story I just couldn't put down!

That chance worth taking ... History in the making ...

Needing another vamp fix ... well we're back to Bones his "Kitten" in "At Grave's End" (part of the Night Huntress series) by Jeaniene Frost. It was good and definitely started off as such. Especially with the revenge/come back of Max (Cat's father). Yet Max is only the beginning ....

Again ... good book ... yet the first 2 books were better. I give it 3 out of 5 stars. It started out really well .. but towards the end it kind of felt like a filler book. *shrug* I dunno ... hopefully the next book will get better. *crossing fingers*
